The irritability if Shahbaz and Imran is justifiable to an extent. However, being the devil’s advocate, I wonder why they are sitting with MMA who have come to power only because Musharraf chose to enforce the BA degree issue for politicians and allowed the sanads of madrassas to be eqivalent. With this, we had a comical tragedy that a Chartered accountant Salman Taseer was barred from elections!!! And te MMA have not only reaped the reward but have paid back in full by legitimizing the LFO and we have had to endure 8 years of corrupt tentacled rule of the military in every sphere of Pakistan.
For Benazir, she is not realizng the incalculable damage her position is causing to her party. But prudence demands not arrogant behaviour but in taking at least PML-N on board. If that is, there is no underhand deal already. In that case, in a free and fair election, she will lose. With the power of independant media moulding the public opinion, the once invincible General had to bow to public pressure within 2-3 months, something unheard of. He even tried gagging the press. Can she do it, being in opposition?
In essance:
PML-N : Showing courage but not chosing the right political bed fellows.
PTI : Politically correct but showing naivete for allying with Musharraf.
MMA : Trying to sound like opposition because that is how they get votes. They will never get votes based on their performance in governments of Frontier and Balochistan.
PPP : Playing a dangerous game of tight rope walking but their timing of this whole affair has been too damaging for the morale of the people of Pakistan and their own approval rating which if someone manages to take a survey has really plummeted. They should in my opinion break this situation of confusion as early as possible to be fair to the people of Pakistan. Sure they might still get seats from rural sindh, but the urban population which has seen the encroachment of free media will not back them.
Annoying and in a big habit of cutting into people while they are talking. Irritating. WHy do all of them want to be Tim Sebastians of Hard Talk? Understanding the other person’s answers should not be that hard for someone of at least an average IQ. CHeck out Imran’s irritability in this video specifically for what I am saying.
I can say there are a couple, but not heading their parties. Like Aitzaz Ahsan, Raza Rabbani etc from PPP, or Khwaja Asif, Chaudhry Nisar etc from PMLN
And i think the line of questioning by Miss Faeza Dawood is pertinent.
She is usually quite patient with interviews, for eg refer to the video posted on July 25th - Interview with Dr. Maliha Lodhi ( Pak High COmmissioner , UK ) .. Miss Faeza does a patient & detailed interview…!
Here , she is asking cutting questions ços the TOPIC demands it ….
look at it this way — Mr. Imran Khan answered brilliantly regardless, now isn’t that the sign of excellent oratorial skills on his part ….
