I think Ayaz should not come into the media in this way As he already ran the 2002 election from PML(N) and now again he is also going to participate the next election from PML (N).
Great Job by Admin by posting his videos!!!

Thanks

Amazing....
Ayaz Amir has been most critical of Benazir and her policy, but in the interview that she gave to that Shehryar guy from ARY and the way he was posing questions to the participants, I could hardly see any difference in the two...

chussain,

You are absolutely right about Hamid Mir, he is no doubt on ISI payroll. He is unfair, biased and partial in his analysis and as a talk show host, plus his columns in Jung are very conservative, not very well researched and unobjective. His only claim to fame is that he interviewed Osama Bin Laden after the 9/11 attacks.

You are also right in pointing out how the government did not condemn the 12 May attack on AJJ TV, while when GEO was attacked Musharraf appologised publicaly in Hamid Mir's talk-show Capital Talk. This is the fist time I have seen a head of state appologising on a TV program.

The Daily Jung is filled with reports and columnist like Mir and Naji, they are ultra-conservative and reactionaries, mostly old Jamatis (jamat-e-Islami) or are on agencies payroll. Their primary motive is to spread propaganda against progressive forces. You can also this reflecting in most of Geo's political talk-shows, which as everyone know is owned by Jung Group. Dr Shahid Masood is ne good example of this, his analysis are so twisted and illogical, he always invites people who are notorious of their conservative and righ-wing stance, people such as Hamid Gul, Aslam Baig, Roedad Khan etc. who trace of our ills and problem to America.

@ of Pak Asean and G Mustafa thanks for the information. Its so great that you can learn so much about people in politics through one forum.
There is no doubt that Ayaz Mir is a very literary columnist. I read his articles on a very regular basis.
I don't know what is going to happen in the near future as far as Pakistani politics is concerned but I pray to Allah Almighty that to protect Pakistan from the evil of that martial law coated with the false label of democracy.I wish we people of our country could prosper, have if not best but at least better lives.
Why is it so difficult for us to achieve this. Other nations have achieved it why can't we ?

There is no doubt that Hamid Mir is man of agencies as when Geo was attacked there was a very swift response from government and MQM while when Aaj was attacked by MQM the government didnt even bother to condemn it. Also you have noticed that in The News the rumours are published which later turn out to be untrue. If you see the paper of March 10 it was said in The News that Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammed Chaudhry had decided to resign which was untrue.

Hamid Mir should also be charged with contempt of court and even Geo should be charged with it because there is ban on live tranmission then how did Geo actually let this live program go and why didnt Hamid actually stop this programme straight away.

Its so amusing to read articles by guys like Hamid Mir and Nazir Naji and how they change their view with passage of time.

Let me tell all these journalists that people of Pakistan both inside the country and outside in the country keep a very close eye on all the events and what is written about it so now they cannot be fooled at all. We not only keep a close eye on what they say but also the choice of their question and their body langauage.

Ayaz Amir is from my hometown Chakwal and his article in Dawn - every friday is worth reading not only from information point of view but also from literary point of view.

He is a very honest and upright person and he is was the only MPA in Shabaz Sharif government in Punjab who resigned when PML N workers attacked Supreme Court.

His father Amir Hussain was a well known politician of Chakwal.

Admin I really thank you for posting Counter Point on this website

A truly great addition.

As for the discussion I agree with Khawaja Asif (who is son of Khawaja Safdar - Chairman of Zia's Majlis Shura) that Mian Nawaz Sharif should not waste time in coming back to Pakistan otherwise he would lose all the political mileage what he has gained.

In a way Khawaja Asif is also doing his best to wash off the sins of this father who colluded with Zia and became Chairman of his Federal Shura)

This is how times change

A great addition Admin Thanks
And by the way can anybody explain what Ayaz Amir was trying to say, was he advocating an arrangement, a "deal" with Musharraf in order to provide him an exit?
