The latest is that Sehba Musharraf is likely to be the covering candidate for Musharraf.
We are moving from a federation to a monarchy. I am not kidding about this. It is in the papers:

This is all hypothetical:
If SC rules that Mush can’t be a candidate in presidential elections because he is in uniform and the 17th amendment does not provide cover for the next 5 years (infact it expires in Nov), then Mush is left high and dry.
Now Mush has no option but to shed his army uniform. But the constitution comes in his way with the provision that all government servants (including army servicemen) need to wait two years before entering politics. Again Musharraf is at a dead end.
Musharraf’s ploy is that he will have a covering candidate who’ll compete if Mush is is disqualified by the SC. Upon assuming the office of president, this person (covering candidate) will give him a 5 year extension. Mush will wait patiently till he finds the judiciary weakening and then makes his move to assume power again.
Now here is the climax. There is a petition before the SC that asserts that Musharraf has attained the age of super-annuation (retirement). What if the SC rules that Musharraf has attained the age of super-annaution and that he can’t run for presidency either. Now Mushie is screwed.
The army will shove guns up his ass and give him a 21-gun salute as a farewell.

her qualification is that she is gen. musharraf’s wife. if dr. naseem ashraf could be the head of our crifcket board jusr ’cause musharraf likes him, then his wife atleast deserves to the president of pakistan.

@all,
This is in reference to asking a question about covering candidate.
@naveed
All the nasty words for you. You are the true reflection of Paki and Indian culture in which the class conscious elites think that they have the sole right to knowledge. Everyone else is either not capable of learning or does not deserve it.
No one came in this world with all the knowleged and know will ever get all the knowlege.
If you are a Muslim, here are some words form the messenger, “Asking a question is half of the learning”
Cheers for all.

Beena baji,
Somethings are better not said. Also, a hint is enough for the wise.
But what can I say, I am just a pola.
September 14th, 2007 at 1:25 am
@ pola

brother fight gracefully.

If the criteria is being the wife of a general, then why not any other general’s wife?
I mentioned Rashid Quereshi since Mush and him seem to get along well. Musharraf trusts Rashid Quereshi and made him his presidential spokesman a few days ago.

According to this Paki-Brit journalist guest on this program, he witnessed the humiliating manhandling of Nwaz at Islamabad airport - from kicking into the toilet to 150 commandos laughing at Nwaz on the tarmac. Has anyone seen the video footage of it? Can you point us to that footage.

WHY WE MUST PROTEST?
1. It is not Nawaz Sharif.. It is insult of Pakistani Courts, Constitution…
2. If NS did any deal, people like him will find it hard to get OVERSEAS support again after our protests.
3. If we succeed in making these overseas Mafia to be more careful, it will be easy to clean our own house.
4. We cannot sell our honour for cheap oil.
5. If NS is wrong and a criminal, then EVERY criminal in Pakistan should be given the choice to live either in Jail or in Royal Palaces in Saudi. And if he is not a criminal, then he should not have been sent anywhere.
5. Saad Hariri blamed Syria for his father’s murder, got Syrian army out because he held rallies against Syria. Then Israel Attacked. He opposed Hizbollah. He has Labanese nationality, Saudi nationality (gift from Kings) and Green Card (even though he is not a US resident). We should oppose such FRIENDS and they should not feel welcomed.
