Well………….. Here’s my second prediction on this forum. By the way my first one was 100% right. My prediction was that APDM will not be able to gather even 200o people any where in the country for NS reception. Now do not give me the reasons for the failure. If you have participated in ground politics in Pakistan, you know that in every opposition show of public muscle governments have reacted severely. In case of Zardari, the administration response was even worse than Sept. 10th. Those skeptics who think I am against NS, please have honest to God conversations with Javed Hashmi & Kh. Saad. For those who had tagged me to talk to me after the event. I do no see them here anymore.

Coming back to my objective analysis, BB will have a very sizable welcome at Karachi. It may not be as big as 1986 but will be the biggest in last 10 years. There will be 144 imposed in Karachi, 3-5 workers of PPP will be arrested country wide. Still she will have a very reasonable crowd.

BB’s thinks that people are dumb. Her arrival in October is part of the Deal. She is trying to tell her foreign masters that she will fully co-operate with a dictator.

As for SR statment giving her a big welcome. That happened in 1986 but what happened after that.

PPP has been fooling people with “RKM” slogan.

But this time PPP will only get votes in Sind.

Let’s have a bet here. PPP will have more seats in Punjab including National & provincial assembly than APDM combined. This is true now and it will be true next elections. This will happen irrespective of success of negotiations with Mush or not. Want to take me up for that?
Should you desire, I am willing to bet you on seat to seat analysis with 95% success rate 5-7 days prior to elections.

In parliamentary democracy, representatives are elected by the rule of one person one vote. Then the parliament elects its leadership. Now no where it says that only smart, educated, and sober people are allowed to vote to elect their representatives. Problem with emotional people sitting in their drawing rooms is that they want democracy but the one which suits their aspirations. I think I should not waste my time further.

BB’s regime would be worse than Musharraf. She can’t even tolerate her party senior leaders and will not allow media to be free.

Pakistani media is doing a wonerful job so as courts these day and its time now for the people of pakistan to open eyes and do their part. We shouldn’t supprt peole who went out of the coutrny by making deals or who are making deals to come back.

Simple question to all BB supporters, how would they justify BB having $1.5B in her account???

I am not here to make bets. I am a concerned citizen worried about leaders, who are Life Chairpersons of a democratic party, have $1.5B in assets and spent most of the in western capitals to gain power at all cost and insult 160 million people of Pakistan.

The only geninune person in PPP is Aitizaz Ahsan who is taking a stand against the dictator thats why he is sidelined right now.

BB is so jealous from him that she didnt even praise him after he won the case for CJ. This showa what kind of a democrat she is.

Read her statements in NYT and other western press. She always give one statement to foreign media and a different statement in Pakistan.

This is not the PPP of the great ZAB, who went to the gallows but did not comprmise.

Free, Fair, & Balanced media is backbone of any democratic society. Independent, fair, and objective judiciary is the primary requirement for any civil society. The way current affair anchors and their participants describe it is neither of these.

If Hamid Mir is a barometer of media intellect, may Creator of heaven & earth have some mercy on us. Answer this, has anyone after his program have got anything which can contribute to the national or personal improvement of viewers. It is more like a “Bander Ka Tasmsha” where anchor has “Dugdugi” in his hand and the participants “Bunders” dance on their sound bites.

Neither ZAB or BB are great. They are human beings with strengths and weaknesses. May God help us. We always think in terms of “for or against”. We see in terms of greatness of NS, BB, Mush, Qazi, and Maulana while opponents are trashed without any objective opinion. I don’t agree with you, but you are right in saying that BB is a shameless dictator. So is NS. NS does not have the heart to even give Makhdoom Javed Hashmi a free hand to lead the party.

BB also likes to have parrots like Amin Fahim and Sherry Rahman around her to sing her tunes. She has some of the best people in Pak politics in her party like Raza Rabbani and Aitzaz Ahsan. But she’d rather have to stooges around her than real, seasoned politicians.

I guess the Butchers of Karachi(MQM walas) will allow BB to show her strength in their territory. They both are alies now!

I don’t mean to say that Musharraf should be allowed to rule since we don’t have good replacements. Might be Imran could do some wonders.

At this time we need a courageous and confident leader (someone like ZB, many ppl might not agree and this is just an example) who could stand up in front of the whole world and make sure our respect and dignity is restored. Someone, who could save our nation from these corrupt generals, politicians and bureaucrats.

Don’t care if people are not coming on the streets to welcome either NS or BB. But we should all try to bring a silent revolution by giving our votes against corrupt leaders..

So now the contours of deal are quite clear. Let me first tell you what the deal is.
1. Let PPP contest the election under the leadership of BB , BB herself should be allowed to contest the election.
2. The election should be free and fair, that means PPP should be given fair treatement at par with PML-Q and free to choose its candidates , no PPP candidate should be harrased by agencies. Agencies may or may not help the PPP candidates depending upon the local constituency situation and requirement.
3. The question of 3rd time Prime Minister will be decided based on two outcomes. a) What happens to the presidential election in the supreme court. b) How many seats PPP clinches in the election.
4. BB will not insist on uniform and the matter will be left to supreme court, if SC decides against Musharraf, BB will help Mush to get elected as president in return will get 3rd time prime minister.

The deal in current situation is a win-win for Mush and BB.
However I want to see what will be there in Jan’08 when BB is giving interview to ARY and GEO telling it was verbally agreed that she will be 3rd time PM but now she has been given only Sindh CM and a coalition government in NWFP. Just like MMA Don’t forget BB will be happy for that too , just like MMA

Those who are watching such talk shows continously must have noticed what kind of people are in PML Q and other suppoerters of Musharraf.

Viewers of these shows are also taking part in all polls on this site. Simple examination of results shows what people have understood.Now someone may claim these polls to be rigged but I dont. I strongly believe if all Pakistanis are watching all such talk shows continously their way of thinking about Pakistani national political leaders and parties must have changed and I do praise admn of pkpolitics for such a beautiful site and all hosts and organizers of these talk shows.

But in my personal opinion not too many people will be watching these programs owing to frustration in common man’s life. Common man is struggling to survive, hyper inflation, poor traffic system, dualism, worse law and order situation. I also belive that even now if Musharraf by any means minimises actual inflation and improves common man’s living standard, people will not care much about other things.

I agree to one of the writers above that BB would prove to worse than Musharraf. That is absolutely true. She cannot tolerate dissent in her party - she removed her own mother from Chairperson ship and got her brother killed by police that was working under directive of Naseerullah Babar so who can she tolerate free press and judiciary.

And same is for NS. He did not like the reception when Javed Hashmi was released from jail and thats why he got a lukewarm reception at Islamabad Airport.

BB is coming after an unwritten deal and understanding. She is part of the arrangement made my Americans and Saudis and Musharraf.

But she should clearly realise that her third era if its there would be worst than her first two.

Another interesting news is that in today’s The News there is a story that Chaudhry Shujaat and Ch Pervaiz Elahi had been collaborators of teh famous Double Shah and when NAB wanted to take action it was stopped and then Chairman NAB resigned in protest. This is a very significant part of the development because it is arm twisting of Chaudhri’s now to fall in line otherwise things are ready for them also - as they are opposing deal with BB.

I believe PM is playing a very dangerous game and God knows what would happen. They say next 48 hours are very crucial and it is also said that Martial Law can also be imposed - thats why the MNA lodges in Islamabad have been vacated.

Sherry Rehman couldn’t answer Imran’s questions. This lady doesn’t have manners and she brag about peoples party like some rich lady talking about her new jewelry. When the discussion came about Benazir’ cases, she starts talking nonstop like some lady in market complaining about the prices. Bottom Line is that she doesn’t know how to behave in front of media.

Sherry is a lady who has come in parlaimaent on kharati votes - meaning on woman seats - and she has no respect for any of the senior leaders of PPP and she is one of those including Rehman Malik, Naheed Khan etc who have led BB to this stage where she is neither here or there.

I doubt if Sherry has ever visited a poor area in her life - she is one of those who had been plucked from The Daily Times and can write and speak English. Otherwise unfortunately she has no political background. Thats why I must say I really feel sorry for this PPP when such women come up in the Party. In PPP and PML N and PML Q there is only criteria to rise up in the party - how loyal are u to BB, NS or Musharraf.

Most of these politicians, especially Minister Tariq Aziz tell white lies on this program and other programs. It is the job of a journalist to bring the truth in the forefront. Media is neither capable nor has will to do just that.

Tariq Aziz told public on another program that Nwaz left for the Kingdom on 910 at his own will. The world knows it otherwise.

When you speak of the standard of the Pakistani anchors on television please bear in mind that they are not your typical pulitzer winning american journalists. In all fairness they may be judged against their peers in the SAARC arena, not the west where there are institutions that nurture and polish thier journalism students.

For Hamid Mir, Talat etc,, I think it would be unfair to ask them to be politically clairvoyant, since TV broadcasting is only in its infancy in Pakistan. Kudos to Pakistan Press and TV to have quickly climbed to top ratings all across the South Asian subcontinent. Please keep your innuendos relevant to the political atmosphere prevailing in Pakistan. For Benazir there will be a warm welcome indeed in Karachi… but she’ll have the short hand of the straw when it comes to the polls. FREE and FAIR Elections are but a fanstasy to the current crop of crooks of PML(Q).

Criticism, and certainly objective and constructive criticism is appreciated. WHAT can not be tolerated is through-the-roof cynicism about whatever political alternative there is to NS,BB, and PM.

Your comments have tendency to fly off on a tangent becuase you seem to expect a scholarly discourse over the (current) political leaders of Pakistan, when they simply don’t deserve one.

Civilian incompetence is not exclusive to NS,Imran,MMA,MQM,ANP,Q-league..etc.. So PPP and Benazir should be judged against the same benchmarks. They are not like guys PMLN pays to come out or the old grannies who follow imran khan around for phot shots in PTI. Another valid point made during the show was when hamid mir asked the big shot imran khan ” Stop talking about PPP, talk about APDM first, where were u on Sept. 10?” That is a very valid question and imran made the most silliest excuse. He was in dubai collecting funds for his hospital. I saw it on Geo. One must ask him was that the only day in the whole year he could find to collect money?

Another dumb remark imran khan made during the show was when Sherry rehman said that a big factor to the unrest in NWFP was hunger and poverty. Imran said “do u think this is bcz of poverty?” Imran khan, i really don’t what degree u got. Maybe it’s the Sita White degree. Everybody knows that one of the root problems to any conflict is poverty, and it is very high in paksitan right now. On the whole it was a good show bcz now the real picture is being exposed in the public, how APDM is in fact the IJI ressurected with its leaders possessing stone age mentality. Now that they utterly failed to bring out people into the street, they are getting the jitters that PPP will bring out a massive rally in karachi. APDM dug a mountain on sept. 10 but only a mouse came out from under it.

Continue crying apdm people. Even when PPP will bring out hundreds of thousands on oct. 18 in krachi, u will say something stupid like their on weed or something.

Frustration of Ziai mind set is so visible. Suddnely Military Mulla Aliance have become democracy lovers. They were part of Zia govt when most popular leader of this country was being hanged. Well i dunno to be honest with you where to start with. Its just a whole mess we are up to and my pakistaniz are facing. I am totally gobsmacked when i heard about Miss Bhutoo and her aliance with Musharaff. Dnt forget its the second time Miss Bibi second time entering the arena from back door.
Sometimes i look at my kids and thank my Almighty God to get me out of Pakistan where everything is unjust and totally corrupt and uneducated people ruling over the educated people.
After all its because of these Meer Jafar and Meer sadiqs that we people force to live away from our motherlands because of these stupid greedy and uneducated people who just killing their own generations and their future to get some undo respect and comfort.

People plz do not be disspointed abt Pakistan’s future. Its reltively new born state and we are seeing nowadays the part of political and social evolution that all the nations experiance when maturing, and plz if u support any political party do not support thier leaders like idols support thier agendas thier mainifesto thier ideology.
Now sometimes ppl give example of india wen i talk at Pakistan being a new state which is not valid bcoz b4 partition almost all of the dept and ministries were handled by hindus or english, they even had special positions and privilages during mughal eras so they had experaince of centuries abt the politics of subcontinent. Again they didnt have to face the harsh period of first 10 years of making bcoz they had all the industry 85% revenue of the subcontinent while Paksitan survived thru only 5% of revenue and broken industry. If u closely study first 10 years u will certainly feel hopeful again. Even under foolish leadership Pakistan survived.
Its good to support the different political ideologies but worship of personalities like idols always let us down.

I am here not to contradict anyone, just wanna say something which will help you in further discussion. Everytime you guys are discussing that Benazir Bhutto is corrupt and she has property abroad and many other things.
If you check the history, you will find out that her grandfather was one of those people who financially supported Jinnah and he gave 5 crore to Jinnah in make Pakistan. With this you can imagine from how rich family she comes from. Today every tom dick and harry has got 5 crore but at that time very few people were that rich and 5 crore meant something at that time. There are hundreds of Pakistanis today who are so rich that they can easily afford to keep properties outside Pakistan and these are the people who have only worked hard and were from either lower middle class or more poor. So after all this which you can see around yourself, why can’t you believe that someone from a very well off family from decades infact before Pakistan, can afford to have a luxurious life.
Today she is a politician so everyone from the opposition calls her corrupt. If she wasn’t a politician then everyone whom would have known her would have been saying that she is from a very rich family. You have to be proud and admit that she is the only former Priminister of our country, who has a fellowship in Oxford University and even gives regular lectures in Harvard University. One should be proud to call her a Priminister of the country because being a 3rd world country we have such learned Leader. Being such a learned person you don’t need politics to get famous in people and earn money, there are many other things which one can do.
But the problem in our nation is that they can afford to make a shopkeeper a politician but not a learned person.
Her father and she both are the only leader of our country whom people even know in USA, UK, Germany, France any country you name because Mr Bhutto was a daring and she is a very well educated politican. We had a dozens of leaders since Pakistan is made and you name it who else is that popular throughout the world. It is not that they have been the Priministers so they are famous, yeah it is something which has added to their popularity but the main is their personality and the way the have handled the issues which had come across. On the other hand if you see no one knows Ayub Khan or Zia or Junejo or even Nawaz Sharif.
I you guys think with cool mind you will see that being a Priminister of a country, you need to represent your country outside in the world. You need to have the ability to stand infront of other nation leaders and defend you country’s interests.

Same time there is a place in London called Madame Tussauds, which has statues of all the famous politicains of the world and Ms Benazir Bhutto is the only and only politician of Pakistan whose statue has been kept there next to other great politicans of the other. This is a very small example of the fact that she has been the only leader of our country, who has the ability to represent our country worldwide. Though we are a good nation and our country has the best geographic location but unfortunately we never got anyother politican then the one I mentioned,who had the personality to make our country stand in world politics. We are a 3rd world country and we need learned politicans like her and her father, to come in world eyes else we will be like anyother 3rd world country whom the world doesn’t even know about.
Sorry to say but our people have got nuthing to do other then calling our politicans as corrupt. One should first have the courage to accept the achievements of someone and then criticise one that person.
People can’t see the time of Zia when he allowed afghan refugees to enter our country freely. The UN only asked him to give them place near the boarder like just set up refugee camps but he let them come inside, so he can get huge amount of money from the UN on their name in the form of aid from the UN.But with this the drugs smuggling and heavy weapons came into our country.
Samewise if you see Nawaz Sharif time, when you did the nuclear test, does anyone know how badly our economy went down. India is a developing country and has managed to grab half of the world outsourcing contracts, they will never make such a stupid step to attack our country. Being rich you cant afford to fight with a poor beacuse the poor has got nuthing to loose whereas being the rich can loose alot.
Anyways this is my view point, I am not imposing anything on you guys, everyone of us has the scence to judge things. But be practical don’t act like kids that you call someone corrupt without having any facts about it.
