I hope MMA is not divided, even if JUI does not resign. We need Right Wing to stick together even if they diffe on some issues.
I also hope that PML N does not hasty criticize JUI and break MMA by wooing JI.
    And
I think their is nothing wrong in JUI not resigning while JI has taken the high moral ground as expected.
Now QAZI, Imran and Nawaz Sharif should accept JUI decision as a tactical difference of opinion while continuing their struggle in a Right Wing APDM.
But I have my fears, as I said.

    Candidly @ Candid
Yes I dislike JUI, s decision.
But I think they have resigned from NA so let us not through them in Musharaf,s camp in hast.
But people love to show their HATE towards MULLAHS, as it is more fashionable.
I think JUI is better than blood thirsty Feudals, Corrupt Generals and most of the so called ant military parties.
I support Right Wing, who are not saints but are politicians doing a difficult balancing act. I prefer them over Leftists, Feudals, Librals and petty Ethnocentric parties.
    I RESPECT YOUR DISAGREEMENT

Guies ,there is one important piont we all are missing ,,going by justice khalil remdey’s remarks its quite possible that supreme court delay the presidential elections by few more days and give stay order until the final verdict…so in that case nwfp assembly can still be dissolved before busharraf’s elections…..so giving resignations today wouldnt help the cause if sc decides to give stay order ..

What is the Maulana thinking yar? Just what is he thinking? If I were the Maulana, no matter how canniving and scheming I were, I would not settle for less than the Prime Ministership after this show of impotence.

I just can’t believe it. AND THIS GUY STANDS TO COLLECT VOTES IN THE NAME OF ISLAM.

Such a shame, such a shame.
Our people have no conscious. In the middle of ramadan he goes to macca… for what? Did he pray to God to forgive him? One must remember God’s wrath is everlasting. There’s only so much that humans can do. Inshallah, these usurpers will be brought to thier sinister end. Amen!

    Sahi,
My friend your are too naive to understand the guiles of Mulla Diesel.

Really, resignations from NA don’t mean s&!t. Without announcing, JUI should have dissolved NWFP assembly. That would have cast a long shadow over the legitimacy of presidential election as 1/4 units from the federation would’ve been missing.

    @waheed,

Dude I hope you’re right. I myself am a critic of the maulana, but i dont believe in mudslinging. I tremendously respect the NWFP assembly, as MMA got thier through the votes of the people to form government.

but the role of maulana fazl has been very shady. he’s been giving mixed signals. since he has that trackrecord, he tends to eliminate his support in the people.

I still hope you’re right, and that they really hit the General and give it a setback.

I think critisizing fazal ur rahman would not be approperiate coz if today Supreme court delays the presidetial election then fazul ur rahmans decision would be prove right tactically on the other hand by quiting the apposition would not get any thing from it may be PML (N) would gain some thing coz they don’t have any thing to lose . Its not as simple as it seems . wait and see.

Those who were expecting that Maulana will resign raise your hands. Government was saying that he won’t resign and now Maulana will come out with million excuses. And PPP which roasted MMA for supporting Musharraf is now doing the same but hey its dialogue not a deal. Aren’t you people tired of these politicians and I mean all of them!

fair enough he is required by opposition but for sometime now he has been consistently crossing the line and opposition rather than streangthing themselves against Mushi have been spending time trying to get agreement from Molvi Diesel.

i bet Diesel is thinking of joining BB camp now??

Jamaat Islami is real B team of Army since 1970. They supported all dictators from Yahya to Mushraf. Facts are very open:
    1. JI was openly supported Yahya and vice versa. Army promoted JI to fight Mujib. Yahya and his information minister General Sher Ali pumped money to pro-JI media. After very bad defeat in both East and West they conducted worst massacre in South Asia’s history and participated in fake elections after ban on Awami League to become largest party in parliament. After fall of Dhaka they tried their best to create problems for Bhutto in West through the media. They used petro-dollars in 1977 PNA movement against Bhutto.
    2. JI shared power with Zia. Its ministers were in his cabinet when Bhutto was murdered in the darkest night in the country’s history. I was a student at that time. JI goondas used to beat us when we come out for pro-democracy protests. With the support from JI Zia enforced most hated laws in the country. He murdered 5000 political activists, lashed hundreds and jailed thousands including many students and journalists. JI was part of all these crimes. JI fully supported CIA and Zia in Afghan Jihad. Only party that supported ZIA in referendum and later took part in fake Zia elections in 1985 was JI.
    3. After BB’s return in 1986 JI and its new leader Qazi were prominent in forming IJI. ISI chief Gen Hameed Gul (democracy lover now) chaired its first meeting. Money from Mehran Bank was distributed to all parties including Sharifs and Qazi. After PPP’s winning and forming government IJI did all kinds of conspiracies with the help from GI Khan and Army. Again money was openly used by Sharifs and JI to buy PPP MNAs. BB got recordings of such meetings that were published after defeat of no-confidence motion. Few months later BB’s government was dismissed on corruption charges and its leaders put behind bars. New rigged elections were arranged and Shrifs brought in power.
    4. JI helped army when Army and GI Khan developed differences with Shrifs. They arranged long marches on Islamabad on behalf of generals. Shrif openly talked about blackmailing by Qazi for money extraction from him. JI welcomed Shrif’s dismissal.
    5. BB again came to power and JI again joined hands with Shrifs. Again long marches started and JI media started cooking corruption stories. BB got dismissed second time.
    6. Shrif came to power again with 2/3 majority. PPP supported him to undo many constitutional changes done by Zia. JI again parted ways with Sharifs. Tehreek-e-Nijat was launched by him. Qazi tried to play the role of moral policeman of the country. Remember Zalmo Qazi AA Raha Hay? Mush came and JI openly welcomed him. JI welcomed when Sharif was jailed and later exiled. They stay silent in Mush Referendum.
    7. In contrast look @ PPP history. BB or PPP never supported any dictator in its 40 year history. Most APDM leaders like Imran were arranging rallies for Mush during his referendum.

Can any BB hater deny the above facts?

BB did the right thing now. Poor masses of the country want her back. Inshalla she will make a GI Khan out of Mush. I bet. Mush will be part of APDM then.

I fails to understand the West’s and America’s ally Pak Army and Mr;Musharraf, because Pakistan Army created Taliban and fueled religious extremism. Mr Perviz Musharraff preaches moderation but has left NWFP and Baluchistan reels under mullas. Mullah have opened illegal FM stations and have barred girls form going to school. They also have established their own Shahria govt in Distt Swat and surrounding areas. It appears NWFP is not a part of Pakistan because every day there are explosions in different parts of NWFP and no one even bothers in Islamabad. I think Pakistan is leading towards dis-integration and I will be very happy if this cancer spreads to Punjab and Karachi.

Qasim Bhai, What evidence you need. Any one who has been in Pakistan and has some memory left remember these facts. Jamaat is the most evil force in Pakistan. They called Quaid Azam Kafir Azam, Called Pakistan Paleedistan, Moudoodi declared 1947-7 Kashmir Jihad haram. JI was outlawed in 1958. Jamaat served their masters i.e. USA and Saudies very well. Even today they served Musharf very well. All petition challenging Musharaf were done by Qazi. He is playing double game. Mulla Fazloo today blamed JI speaker of NWFP assembly for delaying voting to Oct 8. What else prrof you need. Is admission of Aslam Beg and Hameed Gul and Nawaz Sharif not enough to prove JI character?

First I want to make it clear, before someone labels me as pro-Musharraf that I am absolutely against Military Dictatorship in any form. I believe in Democracy as the best available system of Government.
There are about 78 political parties, registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan. Each party leader feels safe only in the chair of Prime Minister.
What holds Nawaz Sharif, Imran Khan, Altaf Hussain, Benazir, Achakzai and some other moderate leaders from getting united?
There should have been only THREE political parties, to make the political process easier for the voters.
    1. Conservative Group: having all the
    Religious political parties, JUI, JI,
    Pro-Taliban and Maullas.
    2. Liberal and Moderate Group: Muslim
League, PPP, MQM, TI and their supporting
    Groups.
    3. Radical and Progressive Group: NAP and
    their supporting groups.
So many political Groups have made it easy for the Military to play with. Military and the Chamchas can buy small ’shopkeepers’ with a little effort. It will be very hard for a Dictator to capture a Super Store, erected upon a solid foundation.
It is too early to criticize BB and PPP. She has not delivered anything to Musharraf, yet.
He got ‘elected’ rather selected only through his ‘Chamchas’. I don’t feel, he will stay for five years at the Post.
The real game is to start upon her arrival to Pakistan. That will be the time to judge her performance and to reach any conclusion.

    With best wishes,
    Javed I. Sheikh
