    @Taimoor,
    I know Ansar Abbasi from the time he started his career from The news in late 80’s. Ansar Abbasi no doubt is a very nice guy. Honesty or Corruption are very relative terms in this land of pure. For me the important thing in journalist is the ability to do unbiased reporting and news analysis. Ansar on many occassion showed his bias in favour of right wing politics. He tried to play ‘Hate America’ card in favour of Ijaz shah without any substantial proof.

    @saqibtahir
    in my opinion, a journalist has to be unbiased when reporting a event, but a journalist like any other person is free to make his mind and express his opinion. In us/uk news papers endorse parties and candidates and there is nothing wrong with it.

    If his reporting is biased then that is not good but if he openly supports any party then that is ok, after all he has the right to make opinion.

    The role of PML (N) is very crucial at this juncture especially in the 26 districts of the Punjab. It is the only party that can effectively counter the gangster tactics of the likes of the Chaudhrys and the turncoats. In practical terms, the PNL (N) and the PPP should field joint candidates especially in constituencies where the PML (Q) is plotting to get elected unopposed.

    My humble submission to all thinking minds:

    Get real….. overwhelming component of our state of affairs is our unwillingness to call suicide or any other bombing criminal and terrorist acts without any ifs & buts.

    We are either pretending or are entirely ignorant. Instead of doing our own accountability, we find excuses for failures. In a very common observation people who fail at achieving some goal in majority of cases put blame on others.No one tries to own failures. We in the words of leading Pakistani journalist………”we are not nation but crowd of stupid and I don’t see that Pakistan can survive in its current status any longer.”

    Well……guys call me crazy but mark my words if we still not looked at our own souls and conveniently tried to put blame our all ills over Israel or America then integrity of Pakistan is in serious doubt. No one is our biggest enemy than ourselves at this time.

    in early 1990 Shujat and Parvez Elahi’s gang people in Gujrat murdered between 7 to 12(i forget the true figure) people of Valiyat Butt family[they were rival in elections and politics], they murdered that number of innocents just for one national assembly and 2 provencial assembly seat, than why not few humndred people for PREMIURSHIP?!?
    AND ON THE OTHER HAND:
    PPP nay hamesha lashoon kee siyasat kee haay.
    on deal between PML(Q) & PPP just one sentence “choron koo paar gaay moor”
    this NAIK gay is looking stupid and blindly favouring the BB.

    We, and specially our political leaders need to keep in mind that US is no ones friend. If you look at the statements that US officials make, they always talk about “US interest” and that is it. This is the reason that US does not have any friend and if Jewish lobby was not that strong in the US and Isreal had not provided it access to the Middle East then even Isreal would be like any other country.
    We should keep in mind that we are a nuclear nation, the only one in the Muslim world and among the very few in the entire world and this is not acceptable to countries like US. US has systematically tried to destroy major Muslim powers. It helped Iraq in its war against Iran for years which severely impacted both countries. It then destroyed Iraq by invading it under the cover of WMD. It has been after Iran for a long time. It has enormous influence in the Middle East; look at the Saudis and the Kwaitis, etc. They can not dare say any word against it or oppose its policies. Pakistan is the next target where the US wants to create a divide in the country with the goal to systematically devour it.
    Our nation has enormous talent and we are the most progressive nation among all the Muslim nations. Like IK has pointed out many times that we are the “key ally” in the war against terror, our soldiers are being killed but US signed the nuclear deal with India. Australia is willing to sell uranium to India even though India has not signed NPT. I am not bashing India here. India has every right to take advantage of anything that benefits it. So the world is offering all sorts of dela to India and what are we getting, nothing.

    Assalam-o-Alaikum,
    Hamid Mir, tried to put good questions to all the participants to achieve the political best view point in this programme. In my opinion Ansaar Abbasi was the best to reply those technical and sensitive questions. A great deal of change observed by the viewers that Sheikh Rashid Ahmed was not so aggresive againt the Benazir Bhutto Sahiba in this show …. how it possible ” might get the briefing from expecting future Field Marshal Pervez Musharraf”. This is not a joke, I really mean that. I found Farooq Naik was the poor political representative for any TV talk shows for PPP.

    I think, October 19th 2007 bomb blast was happen because of un-professional security arrangement taken by the security agencies in Karachi and did not follow the blue book instructions by the special branch and the local police to provide the security to former Prime Minister of Pakistan considering as a VVIP on that arrival reception after an eight years exile political life.

    If I am not wrong, political workers of PPP will support my view point that if Munawar Soharwardi a former Benazir Bhutto’s security chief was alive, this arrival reception was taken care in much organised way to Bilawal House via Mazar-e-Quaid and must have no security lapses.

    May Allah save all of us and our Pakistan from this kind of terrorism is coming future ….. Pakistan Zindabad.

    The greatest threat to the country is coming from the so-called leaders of PML (Q) and their gangsters. Their deceptive tactics starting from the CJP affair to the deportation of Mian Nawaz Sharif and to the farcical presidential election just shows the calibre of these low lifes. [For a long time now, the army and the mullahs are just being abused and blackmailed in their game.]

    People must prepare against their tyranny as the country is rapidly heading for civil war.

    http://intellibriefs.blogspot.com/2007/10/bin-ladens-former-handling-officer-was.html

    Ansar Abbassi says “yeh mera emaan hey key amrika pakistan key khilaf hey”. Now having “emaan” on any issue is not investigative journalism it is rather class and cultural bias.

    @Amir Hameed
    A hundred and fifty years back Lord Russel very eloquently stated that There are no permenant allies and no perpetual enemies, our interests are permenant and it is our duty to protect them. This dictum has been religiously followed as an instrument of policy by all nation-states and US is no exception to that. The fault does not therefore lies with America but with our ruling elite who have always opted for personal benefits over national interests. Malaysia and Turkey are two exceptions to this general trend in the muslim world.

    Try to use some commonsense too. Ansar abbasi was right about american ambitions but along with this he was also pointing out that our leaders are taking forward american agenda. So he talked about both internal and external factors. So don’t pick half of his words which suits you & neglect rest of them.

    Secondly, as an investigative reporter he is better informed than you & I and hence in a better position to have faith in his words. Three is nothing wrong if he said “yeh mera emaan hey key amrika….”

    @Commoner,
    US is against any country:
    - That it sees as weak and does not agree with its agenda or its policies
    - That stands up to it when it goes after them (Iran, Vanezuela, etc.)
    It does not go after countries that are strong and disagree with its policies, like India.
    It penetrates into countries like us with the help of corrupt leadership. It is also my “Iman” that US has never been sincere to us and it will never be.

    I think it is intellectually dishonest that to use the terms like roshan khayal or intahapasand with out properly defining the terms .I invite every one to describe thier criteria such as .

    Any person is intihapasand who for whatever reasons possesse the following characteristics:

    Considers ony his or her views on only issue are the only the right and every one else is wrong with out giving reference the core of his or her belief system ,the belief system is not necessarily the religious belief ,for examle there are people in the west who do not even believe God.Now they may be considered intihapasand if they try impose thier views by force .

    So the biggest intihapasand in pakistan are

    Mushraf ,who took control of the country by fore and using his power to enforce anything that can satasfy those who can keep him in power ,othe all those persons who consides him roshan khayal ,just watch

    NEW DELHI, Oct 27: Officials in India have blocked television channels which aired secretly recorded footage allegedly exposing government involvement in the 2002 killing of Muslims.

    The riots in Gujarat state left at least 2,000 Muslims dead and many victims and rights groups at the time accused the Hindu nationalist-ruled local government of backing the violence.

    The Headlines Today private television network on Thursday began broadcasting footage of men accused of taking part in the deadly riots apparently admitting that they were spurred on by Hindu groups allied with the government.

    On Friday cable operators in the state’s commercial capital Ahmedabad received written orders to block the Aaj Tak and Headlines Today channels.

    Channels that covered the expose, which comes as the state readies for assembly elections in December, were also ordered to be pulled, it said.

    State elections officer Ashok Manek confirmed the order had been issued by top Ahmedabad district official, or collector, Dhananjay Dwivedi.

    Dwivedi cited concerns about sparking “communal feeling, said the report, referring to a term commonly used to describe tension between religious groups in India.

    Police verbally told cable operators in other parts of the state to stop carrying the channels.

    But Gujarat government spokesman Bhagyesh Jha denied that the state had issued any orders against television channels.

    “I have not passed the order, Jha said. “You ask the collector (Dwivedi) about it. Dwivedi could not be reached for comment .

    The channels showed interviews secretly recorded by a reporter of the investigative news magazine Tehelka with several men allegedly involved in the anti-Muslim attacks.

    The magazine’s investigation also pointed to alleged support for the carnage from police and state politicians.

    Some men reportedly said that Gujarat’s hawkish Chief Minister Narendra Modi, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), gave Hindu mob leaders three days to do “whatever they wanted.

    The expose prompted renewed calls from rights activists for tough court action against any wrongdoers.

    “The victims have said all that we saw on TV, said Teesta Setalvad of Citizens for Justice and Peace, which has given legal help to Gujarat victims.

    “The courts have heard the charges, but if they don’t expedite the hearing, evidence can be lost.
