Suicide blast was reported near General Musharraf’s Head Quarters that killed seven and injured several.
Hamid Mir says that the suicide bombers are actually the relatives of people killed in army operation, while Sheikh Rasheed says that suicide bombers are the ones who are being freed by agencies by orders of Supreme Court.

Lota Sheikh Rasheed should be ashamed of himself. Supreme Court didn’t free terrorists. Supreme Court asked Government to release people who Government claims DO NOT EXIST. These people were ABDUCTED without any case.
If these people were terrorists, then why Musharraf has been lying all along. He says that ‘Agencies do not have anyone. Missing people have gone for Jihad in Afghanistan’
Sheik Rasheed once again proves that he is a badmash of Musharraf regime. This man is a paindoo at his heart.
i wish BB had put him Sheikh in jail for life…not just 7 years.
he is a shameless politician trying to be bigger than he is. i believe media is projecting him because of his foul mouth
SC should really stop messing with people’s life. In Lal Mosque case they were so quick in intervening that government had to let go many of them without proper checking and registeration. Agencies can’t work like that. Terrorists don’t work in black and white. I am also against abduction by agencies but then court should hold some special hearing in a closed setting so that they can judge whether the case against that person is right or wrong. SC has only gain a little fame and glory by dragging all sort of cases in court. And they haven’t succeeded in any of them. It didn’t help with traffic when SC intervened, it took as much time with SC’s intervention as much it had taken without it. SC is now more interested in running the government than it is in providing justice.
What can we expect from some one whose survival depends upon a weak and toothless judiciary. All the current politicians who are ruling along with army know that the day there is rule of law and supremacy of judiciary they will vanish. So they will try their best to keep courts under pressure.
If it is the freed persons from secrete services involved in these blasts it provides an easy opportunity to go and grab them. But every one knows that it is the oppression by army which is leading to extremism.
Untill army stops this american WAR OF TERROR and stops messing in civillian affairs there will be no peace in our country.
@Sheraz
in no civilised country you can hold someone for so long without bringing any charges. The reason SC has taken action is because these people had been held without charge for so long and not for the reasons that you have assumed.
i would even go to the extent of saying that even some of the released were terrorist and govt didnt charge them then they must be released. ‘innocent until proven guilty’….a basic human right.
also some other considerations;
1- whats the evidence that people who were released have carried out recent terrorist activities?
2- the job of agencies is to provide intelligence and not hold citizens in their custody?
3- if intelligence agencies cant do their work then an action is required against them?
4- (with apologies - dont take it personal please)imagine if you or any of your close family members were held without charges for years? what would the children/wives/parents etc do. what will happen to your studies/job etc
5- Who is ‘really’ behind the last 4 months of terrorist activities? not even a single person has been arrested…is it the agencies themselves then?
6- at the end of the day these terrorists cant be working on their own. there must be strong organisation behind them that they can walk over to central city locations with explosives strapped to them (cant even wear a jacket since its still summer) and blow themselves up in public places?
this could all be a big game…
If I’m not wrong back in 92 or 93 Sheikh Rasheed used a foul language against then Army Cheif General Waheed Kakar or General Asif Nawaz during a julsa in Liaqat Bagh, Rawalpindi. At that time Army was favoring BB over Nawaz!
I remember he was arrested drunk at the London Heathrow airport after his flight from Islamabd for touching the British airhostess during flight!
Who can forget his love for actoress Reema and how she dumped her.
How a man of this character talk against SC!
People who support these so called arrests should visit the US and handover themselves to FBI so that FBI could put them in Guantanamo Bay because who can judge when things are not black and white.
ZALMO BB JAA RAHI HAY
TEY FER ALLAH DA SHUKAR KARO
what a shame that some people here support the kidnappings of pakistani citizens by the intelligence agencies. i just hope they or their loved ones are also kidnapped by the agencies and held without charge for long periods. people who justify this are not human.
If Sheikh Rashid has any proof that the people who are staging the suiside bombing are the ones that were freed on SC’s orders then he should present it to the masses or to the media. Otherwise he should just keep quiet and try to focus on the Railways which is one of the sickest units of our country’s assets.
If our agencies are so diligent and effective then we would not be facing this dilema today. The fact of the matter is that these agencies are largely ineffective and are only capable of spying on other’s phone conversations because there the job is easy and does not invole any real skills and intelligence.
@saqibtahir
Please elaborate
What Sheikh Rashid said was pure speculations.
ok to everyone who replied:
I already said I am not favoring abduction of people by agencies. All I am saying is that SC let loose many people after Lal Mosque incident very early. Now if it emerges that someone from Lal Mosque did this suicide attack then the blood is on SC’s hands. Intelligence agencies has a certain way of working (although not a likable way) and they should be checked but not to a point where they can’t do any work. I just beleive that thats where SC is pushing the agencies and government. If government takes action early then people cry human rights and when it doesn’t then they ask what was government doing all that time. And neither BB nor NS should be objecting as both did full scale army operations in Karachi. If you don’t object on those how can you object in this case?
@Sheraz
You have stated above that:
“…Now if it emerges that someone from Lal Mosque did this suicide attack then the blood is on SC’s hands. …”
There is a big “IF” here and that needs to be proved by the agencies and the government. If they have the proof then they should present to the SC. It also surprises me that the agencies mostly know the exact number of suiside attackers that enetered into a city or left the city but they have never been able to identify even a sigle one of them.
Totally agree with Sheraz’s comments. SC should stop this drama and CJ should stop acting like a hero.
Salam Every body!
Sheikh Rashid’s views are totally baseless. It seems a conspiracy of the government to defame and pressurise the judiciary for its current judicial activism.
The people of Pakistan know who are really responsible for Pakistan’s poor governance, inefficiency of the state institutions and lack of political participation.
Khurshid
Mir has given his opinion, its not a study, research or criminal investigation, lets not jump to conclusion based on a news report from a commercial FOR PROFIT news clip.
How can Mir prove that Mr. Y died in X city suicide bombing and he is
relative of Mr. Z who was killed by Army?
absurd at best.
God forbid, but soon we will see a replay of 1971. Bengalis were charged same and pakistan splitted in two parts. God knows better what parts are now planned. i believe heavy majority of our population is against Army actions and some foutsider will get the benefits/’of the siyuition. Wars can never be won without the support of public and unluckily we are loosing that .
Even my friends in Army are too confused and tense.
What if army people are advised to not to go in public in uniform . Are we under some foreign rule.
God bless us.
@admin,
You did not do a good job on this one , I am now sniffing a smell that you are now biased. BTW, I am no fan of this idiot SRasheed. However, not only that he did not blame SC himself. He said the agencies were not happy in releasing these people. He also did not said that these are the suicied bombers who were released. What he said was that these MAY be the people who were released.
So in all you bended a lot what he said. And that is what I would call Zard Sashafat. Although he is a scum bag, but you should not waist your energies on him.
@Sheraz
I must support the views to release anyone against whom you dont have proof , in fact they should not have been caught in the first place, but again in Pakistan we will take our time to learn these things the civilized way.
