Those who live in the US are requested to write to Senators. Make one or two good paragraphs, tell them that Musharraf is playing double game and he supports extremists through secret channels to get US aid. You may copy and paste those paragraphs to as many senators as you like.

To assure those who might be frightened to write (it is quite normal for Pakistanis), I have written to many world leaders and local and International bodies and no agency follows you. They are not after the people who express themselves through their writings.

Great Bhagwandas I salute you - even though you are a Hindu but you are far higher in respect from the whole Pakistani nation than those bayzamir Musalman judges who sold their conscience and took oath.

According to Geo News, MMA will decide its future strategy, in view of the prevailing emergency situation, in its November 8th Supreme Coucil meeting. WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP!! If MMA was really worried then it would not wait until the 8th and act immediately. But what can one say about Fazlu, the man with many faces who can change colours more swiftly than a Chameleon. He is one of the biggest SOBs who is out there to help Mush.

A look at some of the restrictions and suspended rights in the state of emergency declared by Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf:
    • Protection of life and liberty.
    • The right to free movement.
    • The right of detainees to be informed of their offense and given access to lawyers.
    • Protection of property rights.
    • The right to assemble in public.
    • The right to free speech.
    • Equal rights for all citizens before law and equal legal protection.

    From the News (Jang).

Ousted judges to preside over courts today
    ==========================================

    By Shakeel Anjum

ISLAMABAD: Deposed judges of the Supreme Court and Sindh High Court would go to their offices and preside over their respective courts today (Monday), sources close to these judges told The News.

A meeting to discuss the future strategy was held at the residence of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Monday, the sources said, adding, most of the deposed judges including Justice Bhagwandas and Justice Javed Iqbal attended.

The sources said the meeting reviewed the constitutional crisis after imposition of emergency in the country and legal position of the “sacked judges. The judges at the meeting chaired by the CJ averred that they were still active and could continue court work. The judges decided to go to the Supreme Court as routine to attend their offices, the sources concluded.

Online/NNI add: In Karachi, the ousted Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed said that judges who refused to take oath under the Provincial Constitution Order will go to duty today (Monday).

BBC quoted Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed as saying that the judges will perform their duties as of routine. Separately talking to reporters Justice Sabihuddin said he and his colleague judges have not received any notification of removal from services and he would turn on their duty along with his twenty-three colleagues and conduct hearings of the cases as usual.

He, however, said that he could not say anything whether or not the police will arrest him on Monday while going to office. Justice Sabihuddin said he received a verdict of the Supreme Court on Saturday night through fax. According to the unanimous decision of seven judges of the apex court, he said, no judge will take oath under PCO.

Appointment of any judge and chief justice of High Courts and Supreme Court under PCO will be declared unconstitutional and illegal, Justice Sabihuddin maintained. No contact has been made with the government so far, he disclosed.

He said it has come to the notice that some judges were convened in Governor House but no opinion had been sought from them. The personnel of security forces are taking government vehicles and guards back by saying that he is not chief justice of Sindh High Court, he told the BBC.

Meanwhile, former President Supreme Court Bar Association Munir A Malik advocate while talking to journalists said after the imposition of PCO, all the constitutional judges assembled at the residence of a judge of Sindh High Court and took a mutual decision that as the Supreme Court has described the PCO as unconstitutional, the courts would continue to perform their duties as per the constitution and all the judges would go to the courts on Monday. Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court Bar Association has announced that no lawyer will attend the courts of those judges who took oath under the PCO.

I would’nt like any of us eating humble pie if certain political people allign themselves with him. We expats know how hard it is to balance work and family and loyalties out of Pakistan for people who place our loyalty at minimal value. Lets wait for some time and see how active political forces in pakistan behave before we “with nothing to gain and everything to loose” put our convinctions to the test. (Call me a loser;) however I tend to think that people like us will be used and discarded very soon by the same political forces we champion!

Many people are not going to like what I will say here:

1- BB said that we are negotiating with Mush to avoid Martial Law. Have we waited for couple of weeks, we would have a better scenario.

2- After having conversations with political workers, I think there will be not a huge agitation unless something changes drastically in next 24 hours.

3- Rather than considering above two comments as demoralizing. We must consider that the ordinary people of Pakistan do not get excited by rule of law and constitution as we all are guilty of depriving them of there rights. The true hard working Pakistanis such as driver, cook, butler, gardener, and sweeper are negated their rights by the religious elite, liberal elite, military, political leadership, police, army, and regime. If we want to earn their trust, we must change our habits of exploiting the weak. We all do that.

Still if BB & NS can aggressively agree to bring people in the streets, we can muster enough pressure to force regime. Otherwise, we’ll dance like monkeys and then accept new realities.

The two so-called judges Nawaz Abbasi and Javaid Butter were the hearing the case of Lal Masjid on a Suo Moto notice of Nawaz Abbasi. Both of these Judges have taken oath under PCO. This was great conspiracy against the upright judges of the supreme court. General is trying to fool US and Western countries by telling them that he is fighting their war on terror. He is actually supporting the terrorists. How rediculous it is to say that “Justice Rana Bhagwan Das” a non-muslim judge was supporting islamic terrorist.

  • AC said:

Well some time ago I said(some other people said that too) overhere that after the elections there would be tripod style of power setup b/w mushy, bb, and nawaz sharif that would be supported by the west, as US needs this stanility for atleast 2/3 years. In an address hillary clinton mentioned in the summer this year that for leaving iraq we would atleast need a year or two, so during that time she would need stability elsewhere including afghanistan. Therefore US beleived this arrangement with mushy at the top would work by some US manipulation.

Now the situation in pakistan has lost all its predictability. Its too unpredictable.

There are many solutions to this problem. Some are radical, some are stupid, some show cowardice….well what the heck its pakistan.
    1.
Nawaz sharif and BB cometogether. Make some sort of arrangement to go ahead with elections and press on having elections on time. They fight the elections in such a way that they dont compete directly against eachother. By preplanned arrangement one of them would get the government for next 5 years. After elections they would oust the chief by popular majority thus abolishing emergency in pakistan. In this case i presume the elections were held in emergency conditions. PML-Q in this situation has lost it all and so has musharraf. Kiani takes over as the chief after some sort of arrangement or military coup. Still very complicated solution. In this case the west thinks the Mush-BB deal isnt feasible. And it tries to find new allies for BB, and starts approaching the sharif bros via the saudis. US would want the sharifs to quell the fundos by taking over their votebank and be in power in nwfp and punjab and would want benazir to be in power in sindh.

    2. Everybody rises up now, the judiciary, the politicians and the people and put so much pressure on mushy that he has to step down - even his generals ask him to step down. Thus he comes on the tv like ayub khan did and apologizes for the emergency and steps down as chief and holds elections under new caretaker government. But I think this wont happen probably. Because this time people wont come out as the CJ wont be there to be part of rallies. So i dont know i people have the will to march to Justice Enclave in islamabad to get him out of his house. Else he escapes by magic.

    3. US tries to stick to musharraf support and asks BB to stick the plan as well by indirectly supporting this emergency by allowing the pco to be passed by the current assembly. Overthere is again a chance for rallies and protests but I think they would not be useful enough as this time the judge wont be around. But in this situation there would be support from the west for musharraf’s emergency - they would be sorry or disappointed about it. But they would be content with it in the end. And would think that the BB-Mush deal is still possible.

    Conclusion:
I myself support the 1st case and thats why i put it first. I would be worried if 2 is true and really shocked if 3 happens because it would make mushy more spoiled and blind to the blunders he is doing.

  • pejamistri said:

Let’s hope that the rumor is true.. I am getting excited. There are three reasons for my excitement.
    1. The people who are denying this news are up until now Tariq Azeem and Rashid Quershi. Both of them are civillians. Usually such a high profile rumor will be denied immediatey by the DG ISPR. DG ISPR is supposed to come on television immediately. As far as I know about the so-called descipline in Pakistan Army, DG ISPR is supposed to be the first one to deny any rumor against his COAS.
    2. General has not appeared on television since this news broke. This was important as in order to keep the rank and file in the army calm, he was suppose to make a public appearance.
    3. General is not in the army house instead he is in the President house in Islamabad.

If Gen Musharraf can break teh consitution why cannot Gen Kiyani. We all request him to please step in and get rid of this mad man, hold fair and free elections and restore the image of the army and country.

It has been widely said and even in PCO its mentioned that teh Supreme Court released those 61 terrorists and they are roaming free. But who freed them - PCO Justice Faqir Muhammad Khokar and PCO Justice Abassi

Plus BBC has reported that Musharraf has released 25 Taliban in exchange of 250 army personnel in Swat.

Suo moto action regarding Lal Masjid was also taken by teh Justice Abassi and Justice Khokhar and both have taken oath.

Musharraf has lied to Pakistani nation and lied to Western Media and Western countries. He is playing double game with the west. Why is not a single person from religioius parties of JUI which has links with extremists Taliban been arrested and why there is only mild condemnation.

PPP has decided to condemn the PCO but not agitate against it.

Such are the double standards in this countries and I am ashmed being a Pakistani today that we have now stooped so low.

Let the West know that now because there is no rule of Law in Pakistan so a field for extremists have been left open and now Pakistan is going to worse than Iraq because Pakistan people would turn against army itself.

Lets see what your intelligence agencies do now.

Only General Kiyani can save Pakistan by removing Gen Musharraf and dissolving these so called puppet National Assembly and Provincial Assembly. I would request all those who have in contacts in Army through whatever mean plead and request Gen Kiyani to take action - and he has justification to do so because teh Supreme Court has declared PCO illegal. So we request Gen Kiyani to step in and save Pakistan and Pakistan army if he is a man of conscience and he is a Muslim and true Pakistani.

He must not talk to any politician. He must not even leave his office in Army house and should salute president. It should be exactly as written in 1973 constitution.
If he does anything more than that, then let me tell you he is no better than General Musharraf.

No Truth in Army command change: DG ISPR

    By Mateen Haider

Islamabad. November 4, 2007: The Director General Inter Services Public Relations and Military Spokesman Major General Waheed Arshad has denied that top command of the Pakistan Army has been changed and Vice Chief of Army staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani has taken over as new commander. Arshad was asked to comment about rumour which gripped the country that as a result of the counter-coup, General Pervez Musharraf has been removed and General Kayani taken over as next chief. “There is no such thing, these are just rumours Arshad told dawn News. Earlier, a strong rumour gripped the country that Chief of Army Staff General Pervez Musharraf had been replaced by Vice chief of Army staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani and that there was troops movement around Aiwan-e-Sadr. 160 million people country and still believe an other General as a man to take us out of this. time to rethink!!!

BB is playing the role of an astute politician which we needed in absence of Nawabzada. She is trying to convince Military to go to barracks without any bloodshed. The emotional people can not understand the logic of her comments. Even if she is playing the games, she’s the first one to call this act as Martial Law and unacceptable.
By the way, whatever she is doing NS is with her.

  • Chussain said:

I think even if the rumours are not true but they have done the job what they are supposed to have done - they have created mistrust between the army command and now Musharraf would not trust his own generals. This is called psychlogical warfare and it should go on. Musharraf has made the biggest mistake of his life - at least before he would hear everything from the media and now because he has shut down that and he has shut down Supreme Court - so now he has made himself vulnerable to extraconsitutional steps which others can also take against him.

I think these rumours would give ideas to the army command and the more strong these rumours would be and the more uncertainity it would be - Gen Kiyani would be compelled to step in and remove this mad man.

I agree with my colleague above that Mian Muhammd Sumorro Chairman Senate should take over as President and Gen Kiyani as Chief of Army Staff because in any case the tenure of Musharraf as Army Chief is going to end on Nov 14.

So Gen Kiyani has all the reason to step in and finsih this once for all.

  • farhan said:

    @ Raja

you are entitled to your opinion my friend. i respectfully disagree.

  • pejamistri said:

    @chussain,
Can not agree more. The rumor of change of command in Army is not a joke. This is considered most serious matter in the army. I still hope something is cooking within. The general is most vulnerable at this time.

  • Raja said:

People in Pakistan will not come out to streets against martial law or in support of democracy. If Danish cartoonists and British Government support democracy in Pakistan then they should do something interesting, because that is the only reason when Pakistani can come out in the streets and do some embassy-burning kind of ferocious protests. Maybe religion can galvanise Pakistanis to do something, which democracy/martial-law unable to do.

People spread this word to all the high ups you know to put pressure on core-commanders, DG ISI, and VCOAS, General Kiyani to remove Musharraf. They will be recognised as saviors. It would be shameful in a way but ironically it indeed would be respectable for the majority.

They should know this from as many different people as possible so that they know the serioiusness of this situation.

  • farhan said:

    @ pejamistri

i completely agree bro. in last 10 mins there has been a significant change in kamran khan’s tone and criticism

  • Chussain said:

I would again suggest everybody in Pakistan that each should write a letter anonymously (just one letter ) to GHQ asking Gen Kiani to remove Musharraf. Imagine if a million letters like this start arriving in GHQ it would put immense pressure on GHQ and that wont cost much - just one stamp.

Remember SHAWHSHANK REDEMPTION - if anyone has seen it.

That is one way to putting pressure if at all there is coup and these are all rumours.

But by teh body language of Musharraf and the tone of the West and the way Minsiters were avoiding media I believe there is something happening - it is no doubt getting out of control of Musharraf.

I would inform all the readers that when Iskender Mirza had imposed Martial Law he was removed after three weeks by Ayub whom he had asked to impose Martial Law.

Plus why should the military like Musharraf because he had been repeatedly saying he cannot remove uniform because it was not in interest of Pakistan which DIRECTLY IMPLIED THAT THERE WAS NOT A SINGLE GENERAL IN PAKISTAN ARMY WHO CAN FUNCTION AS CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF - a clear slap on face of his generals that they were not competent. However the actual reason was that HE DID NOT TRUST THEM.

So I would request all the generals to please throw this crazy and mad man out.

@Sharma - we respect your concern but plesae please do not mention Danish cartoonists - we dont want their support either - while we respect what you believe for religion - we would expect that you would also be sensitive to our sensitivities and one thing no Muslim in this world can ever tolerate under any circumstances howesoever liberal he might be - is to tolerate anything against our beloved Holy Prophet peace be upon him.

So Sharma Sahib I would urge you to avoid even indirect mention of that. We however appreciate your concern regarding democracy in Pakistan and we welcome anything which the outside world can do to help bring democracy in Pakistan.

  • maan said:

I agree you something is going on behind the scenes. You might have noticed that new justices are not being brought in for taking oath which shows that something serious is happening is much more serious than oath and recruiting of new judges.

If everything was normal then ministers should have started speaking on media slowly and brand news judges would have been announced.

Let wait and see what comes out of this silence.

  • V Sharma said:

    @Farhan,

It seems there is no clean self-less leader on horizon which could mobilize Pakistanis for common cause. In absence of a leadership which could galvinise all Pakistanis across party-lines or region-wise, religion (albeit dangerous) could be a basis which could encourage people to fight for a cause. Afterall, it happened earlier 1857 in India, 1880s in Sudan. Just a thought.

It seems things are moving quite fast in last few hours.

  • V Sharma said:

    @Chussain,

I did not mean to disrepect anyone’s sensitivities, that was not the intention of my earlier comment. Please accept my apologies if unintentionally hurt your or anyone else feelings.

And I do understand how sensitives these matters are.

There was an article yesterday in Nation that said BB approved on Emergency and the appointment of new CJ Dogar. Dogar was her man long back ago.
And today in Dawn, Justice Wajih ud din interview, he says it was done with support of NRO beneficiaries. BB knew Supreme Court will throw NRO outside and that would be a big shame on her.And she was also facing tough times from journalists.
There were question marks even on Aitzaz Ahsan who prolonged the hearing giving unnecessary remarks. This is said by Justice Iqbal who said otherwise the order was to be announced on Thursday.
Very serious questions need to be pondered.

US has clearly told Musharraf to leave the post of Army Chief and hold announce immediate elections.

Pakistan Army is under lot of pressure now particularly teh top brass because there is unrest in army and that can be very dangerous for the morale of the troops and for the country.

There is no doubt - Gen Kiyani should remove Musharraf once for all.

Yes its significant that suddenly deposed judges have access to phones and are talking to the media. That is indeed an intriguing development.

Also Daily Jang carried top news about comments of Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry in which he said he was defiant and stood his ground.

Also note that Gen Kiyani was teh only general in that famous meeting of President Musharraf, PM Shaukat Aziz and others with CJ on March 9 who did not say anything to CJ although he was ISI Chief. Also he was the only general who did not file any affadavit against CJ.

There was a case coming up against PM Aziz regarding Nawaz Sharif case in which he could have been held for contempt of court and same would go for Prevaiz Elahi.

I think and believe all these guys would regret why they openly came out against Supreme Court and judiciary because they would need them teh most now. Same mistake which Nawaz Sharif made at that time. Guys people dont learn from history

  • Pakistani said:

Condzilla (Godzilla) Rice has said that they are going to review aid to Pakistan

Netherlands has suspended aid to Pakistan

    Stock Exchange is going down.

I think not only Musharraf should go but also guys like Shaukat Aziz, Pervaiz Elahi , Tariq Azeem, Sheikh Rashid, Sher Afgan Niazi should be arrested and a charge of case of contempt of court should be made against them.

Gen Musharraf has said that this is joke of highest nature that there is coup against him - but he hasnt come on TV to deny it not has anyone from goverment denied it

I am damn sure BB is talking to Mushy through back channels and her interest is to have short cut access to Power rather than going for agitation otherwise she would have given a call to PPP activists categorically so far.

She could still be waited for such a call after Imran Khan ’s statement otherwise Khan is going to cash this very moment hugely for his future politics and maximum loss would be to PPP.

I think most of you like me should be thinking of two assumptions and I suspect there should be two kinds of groups of peoples in Pakistan working to make those assumptions reality. The assumptions are:

    1. Bring BB and Mushy closer. The people working on this idea should be few politician and very few from army.

    2. Get rid of Mushy. Most of the people from Army and real people should be working slowing on this line.

  • pejamistri said:

Whitehouse is somehow making several critical statements against Musharraf, these are not the likes of “grave concern or disturbed” , it is about actions like:
Release all the detanies after the emergency.

  • pejamistri said:

Somehow my source is insisting that the Emergency is being lifted. He can not confirm what it means however one thing is confirmed that CJ will be reinstated along with the other judges. I am praying that it is true.

  • Javed Shah said:

Assemblies will be dissolved on Nov 15 and in 60 days elections will be held.
In this situation elections can be fair?

  • Kruman said:

    Peja,
Here is how I put the pieces together:
    1) There is “real” pressure from Washington to take back emergency.
    2) This will screw Mush
    3) He is making a last ditch effort, pressurizing the defiant judges (through AG) to take oath under PCO. This provides him a cover for taking back martial law. CJ simply refused to meet CJ.

  • Kruman said:

Dr Faqir Hussain (former and I’d say the real registrar SC) is on TV and he read out the order by the 7-member bench that revoked emergency/ML. He is reminding all government employees, sevicemen that they are all bound by the SC orders to reject the PCO.

  • Zaheer said:

I never think that USA will do anything good for us! why will they do so?
I personally take their words oppositely i.e. if they say that they value human rights then it means that situation is opposite or if they don’t like emergency in Pakistan then they might have supported it internally!!! WALLAHU-AALIM(GOD knows the best)
I am not sure what stake and benefit USA has in current situation of Pakistan! Can anyone explain?

  • pejamistri said:

All of the Pro Government anchors on Geo and in the “The News” and “Jang” reporters have stopped calling the judges as “Former” judges. At the moment policy of Jang is to call Iftikhar Chaudary as Chief Justice and other judges also Justice.

  • Amir Hameed said:

It is possible that US knows whats brewing up in the army (against Mush) and that is why it is now issuing these types of statements just so that people think that it was with the masses when Mush imposed the emergency.

  • Kruman said:

That is correct Peja. They are even giving time to Faqir Hussain to explain the entire legal situation to the nation i.e. Iftikhar Chaudhry is still the CJP, PCO is illegal and nullified.

  • Abeer asif said:

  • Amir Hameed said:

I wish that laywers could be provided protective gear (halmets, chest guards, etc.) for these protests to avoid serious injuries. Per Shahid Hussain, the laywers were beaten severely and mercilessly today. I agree with Dr. Shahid that these people who are beating these educated people of the society can’t even stand up to the people in Sawt and Waziristan.
Kyani, you must stand up now.

  • Asif said:

Don’t worry because this time he has cornered himself at a point of no-return. At any time we should expect some good news.

  • Javed Shah said:

BB giving an interview and bailing Mush out.
She says if he quits uniform and oath without it, they will accept him. Shame
She wants the constituition reinstated but does not want the disposed judges back.
    Shame on PPP supporters

  • Nasir said:

BB is play politics tactically. Look at her statement “General Musharaf should put off his uniform before taking oath of 3rd time president ship”. She is making him president whereas nation wants to get rid of him

  • Balouch said:

I told u before no any politics leader is faithfull with our nation they are looking KURSI , just KURSI they can bargan they can do any thing any thing i cant write more but again say ANYTHING for Kursi SHAME SHAME SHAME

  • Ali said:

Yara dont worry about BB. We all know she is for emergency because the NRO will be implemented. She is secretly talking to Mushy to come to power.

Lets support the CJ, the lawyers are all politicians who are in Jail right now.

  • Javed Shah said:

How can she accept a person as president who has done 2 coups, thrown the constitution in the dust bin several times.
Mush has become very weak and he is bailing him out

  • Adam said:

Fazlooo says Emergency has been imposed due to oppositions divide.

    LOOK WHO IS TALKING.

  • Ali said:

BB on TV. What the hell is the saying now ?

“Mutalba Kiyaein”. I cant understand a word she is saying.

  • maan said:

It seems it was a part of deal script that how to convince other political players and nations to make them agree to the president ship of Musharaf.

To do so first they (PPP and Musharaf) raised the temperature and when people start crying of it then she is taking how to save Motherland at least.

She and Musharaf is so reckless kind of animals.

  • Saeed ur Rashid said:

Coward pakistani army and police. they have no courage to go in sawat or waziristan and use the baton charge against the talibans. they can’t fight anyone with guns. they just know how to beat the poor unarmed civilians. the cowards go to sawat and surrender to them and here when they see the educated people, lawyers and civil society trying to register their protest, they start beating them voilently. I am ashamed of my country’s so called “law enforcement agencies” and they should be ashamed of themselves. I am ashamed of my countries political “leadership”, in fact they shouldnt even be called “leaders” as all of them are just hoping to gain something for themselves out of this situation. all of them should be thrown into the arabian sea. but most of all i am ashamed of myself, and my countrymen, who sit and do nothing to change their fate, always cursing in vain. freedom isnt free, it has a heavy cost. if we look at US, UK or the other progressing nations in the world today and see the quality of life, freedom of speech there, we must look at their history as well. they were not like this from the start, their forefathers gave a huge price for this and their current generations are always ready to die for their rights as well. on the other hand, looking at our history, we are always waiting, praying and doing nothing. Is there anyone who can transform this crowd, this mob, rush into a nation? is there no one?

The correct name of Fazlu is “Pakistani Nairu”

  • Ali said:

Mushy imposed emergency because the SC was about to disqualify him.

Chaudi Sahib has admitted as quoted in Guardian:

“Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, president of the ruling PML-Q party, said the decision to impose emergency rule was triggered by fears that the supreme court would rule against Gen Musharraf’s recent re-election in a legal appeal. A friendly judge passed the information to the government last Wednesday. “He said the verdict may be unanimous. So we had no choice,” he told the Guardian. “The debate was whether to impose emergency before or after [the court ruling].”

Who was this friendly judge - Chaudhry Shujaat has committed a treason also because he has become party to conspiarcy.

BB would need Musharraf because she cannot control media and judiciary so she encouraged him to remeove them but now it seems it is getting out of her control also.

FAzlu is accusing opposition of being divided - he should know that if today opposition if divided ONLY HE AND ONLY HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT.

BB and Fazlu cannot also survive for long

Come on PPP supporters for God sake realise what your leader is doing and why is she doing all this - Cant you remove her for and install AA as your leader.

Just like America and Britain underestimated the response of Pakistan on removal of Judges - I think BB and Fazlu are also underestimating.

BB should realise that elections are coming on Jan and people of Pakistan are very very angry.

More people write to them, better pressure would be on Musharraf. If you would like to write:

Mushahid Hussain’s quote in Washington Post:
    ——————————–
“It’s a very serious self-inflicted wound,” said Mushahid Hussain, a top leader of the ruling party and one of Musharraf’s closest advisers. “And I feel it will be difficult to really recover from this wound.”

Hussain lobbied hard for Musharraf to avoid declaring an emergency, counseling that he could still allow elections to proceed and the courts to rule, leaving it to the voters and the judges to decide his fate.

  • IMRAN MALIK said:

    Some strong indications

1-Sacking CJ and all the other anto mush (and anti NRO) judges was part of the deal with BB.

2-Maulana fazal and BB are very hopeful that they will get there due share…fazal will get some lucrative designation and bb is aspiring for the top .

3-Mush will hold elections and will make arrangements to lift emergencey in days to come ..but wouldnt let the sacked judeges to go back to court

4-Mush will again promise to shed his uniform off after the elections …but might not fulfill his promise .

5-US is with MUSH and all this plan was given a NOC by US.

  • Sultan said:

And on the rumour issue and what is being said that CJ would be reinstated i would quote the ****** Shiekh Rasheed kay : khowishoon ko khaabar na banain tat is what we all want to happen without us doing anthing, well ppl lets face tats not gona happen

  • IMRAN MALIK said:

Having said the above mentioned i still doubt that this time BUSHARRAF and his allies will succeed in there millicious intent…i think they wouldnt survivet this time…there days are numbered now….

this whole situation is very sad. i was pretty excited all day as well, hoping this is the end of the tyrant. but really, even if he leaves, general kiani is the same as mush kutta, hes america’s guy in the war on terror so no change in that policy. secondly benazir is the winner in all this situation. her cases get padoned and she comes to power to loot the country again. that is what she was sent for by america and western powers. for how long will we continue to be puppets in the big game of the west. we need leaders like imran khan, aitzaz ahsan and qazi. even nawaz sharif could be part of the big plan of America in the region. what a shame.

    @sultan,
General’s era has brought us to such depths that now we quote Sheikh Rashid’s like people in our serious conversation.
I have been excited about the happening today all day. I believe that few things have had happened during this eventful day. There were many rumors all day, each rumor having its own merit and worth.
We should be hearing some good news in the hours to come.

  • pejamistri said:

I had never bough the argument that public does not come out on street in Pakistan. The lawyers and hundreds of other civilians have shown thier courage and strength today. We must not blame each other that nobody is coming out and nothing is going to change.
The civil society of Pakistan, today has written history with their blood. The world’s capitals and United Nations is not putting pressure on the General becuase they have their own agenda or whatever. They mean serious business because today people of Pakistan have shown their courage and resolve for democratic Pakistan.

  • Ali said:

Unless Pakistan frees itself from Mafia (Army, selfish politicans, Feudals and Corrupt Afsar Shahi), there will be no end to the suffering.

The CJ and his team were slowly starting to challenge the suffering of the common man but this strong MAFIA did not like that and threw out the CJ.
