I think it is one of the difficult questions to answer. I think PML(N) should sense this with the majority of response from the people whom they expect to support them. What I saw in Hamid Mir’s program, I felt people don’t want election with Musharraf occupying any office at all. They first want to get rid of Musharraf and want the judiciary as was before 3rd November. I don’t think people should participate in the election until and unless they get their true judiciary.

If people don’t find any political party which could force the government to revert judiciary to its previous form, they should find some non-political people to represen themselves.I think lawyers, journalists can gather a lot of people and so could Imran Khan, Justice Wajeeh and similar other people. The reason being we haven’t heard anything soft from their mouth regarding the current scenario.

Ref poll Nov 23, 2007: i was expecting majority to say no. Imran Khan will never participate in elections unless the judiciary members are returned to their pre-martial law positions and musharraf leaves the presidency!

i think APDM should avoid this election.becos this election is infact ,,selection,,.if APDM participates this election,it will lose the love and sympathy of pakistani nation.it,ll lose its politicle caractor and bace in the people.infact its great chance 4 PMLN 2 creat an ever lasting popularuty in pakistan if it upposes dictatership tries 2 avoid this election..

November 20, 2007: The poll is showing the difficulty the political parties are facing for the decision of boycotting the elections. The public opinion is almost split half and half. however most think a boycott is better as:
    1. This will bring the farce of Mush down
    2. The judiciary will be restored under pressure of people pressure.
    3. This will bring supremacy of order and law in the country.
    4. It will stop the military incursions in politics as the generals will have to think twice before acting in the manner they ahve been involved in for 60 yrs.

6-Became a party with the judiciary.
    7-Deteriorating the government image drastically.
    8-He had been personally targetted.

It would be better to keep lesser options though, sorry for recommending even more :) .

Assalamoalaykum. I would like to comment on the 23 nov poll that comment for participation of apdm. If elections are to be held under the current judiciary and emergency then apdm and all other parties should “not” participate as it would be a “selection” of agencies, but if situation changes and we get our judges back and free election commission under it, then they are free to go.

musharraf is the problem, not the solution.he’ve to go,and military after so much humiliation and embarrasement must return to brarracks as bloody civilians of pakistan have no respect for their presence in public.ISI’S only job is to kidnap people now – so it’s better to scrap it.and all media channels to come back on air.freed media, free pre-3rd nov judiciary

    To ADMIN
You should also put a things like that “Media also share the responsibilaty as well the goverment”.Beacause no matter what you say the media some time is taking the side which is not right.specially with Imran khan and PML(N).

  • Basit said:

    @salmanearn

Media is doing a job and doing a job weldone. Musharraf must go, now all he need to decide if he have any honourable option left, he already closed all other options. He must leave the office.

As far as your allegation is concern, from your own message you’re taking sides of dictatorship.

All media is doing saying right right and wrong wrong, they are not taking sides. They invite leaders from all parties including dictatorship alliances, but funny enough they are all jokers, lotas and hypocrate. Above all they are biggest liars.

This is a fight for freedom, and we Pakistanies will continue till we get rid of illegal regime of dictator musharraf.

    @ Poll of 25th November:

General Musharraf unplugged some of the most popular TV talk shows and channels because they were:

    1. Spreading political awareness resulting in anti government public opinion and supporting independent judiciary for the rule of law (803) 91% of all votes

    2. Glorifying terrorism, siding with opposition, maligning armed forces, targeting Mussharaf’s personality and helping anti state elements

I am glad to see results, it looks like media already achieving this goal of creating awareness among people of Pakistan.

Dictator Musharraf must leave now, or day is not far away when he get kicked out from within.

The option asked in the poll posted on Nov 26 were not just. The person who wrote the options about the decision of the government to shut down the news channel were Biased. The options were written in a way that most people would inclined to choose the first option.
In my humble opinion, the question asked should be:
    Q) Why did government ShutDown the news channels?

    and the options should be:

    1. Because they were only showing the truth and they were unbiased, and they were neutral.
    2. Media was biased and just trying to confront the government and trying to show its own view rather than showing the views of the government and the opposition, and not trying to be Neutral.

    Thanks

You input about the next poll:

Assuming Pakistan gets an independent judiciary. Can that judiciary resolve its “shortcoming” itself and be effective in the presence of corrupt law enforcement?

    • No

i wonder who are those people voted ‘yes’ in this poll. indeed using a computer does not mean people are literate and wise.

i was great supporter of Nawaz Sharif but not any more because he submitted his nomination papers and accepted his unjust removal and exile by mush. he is still calculating his benefits before making decision, even after such a humiliating past. only lawyers, few media personals and imran khan are doing what they had said in beginning. else keep changing their statements according to new developments in their favors.

our real heroes and leaders are iftkhar chowdhry, imran khan, lawyers, media personal and civil society. but alas they dont know the cunning tactics to be in politics

therefore i can only pray for our nation. MAY ALLAH bless us with honest and wise leaders

hmmm now that NS is participating in the strengthening of Mushy, even the polls on this site (which thought was an unbiased) is trying to divert our attention from the real issue at stake, THE RESTORATION OF JUDICIARY,bravo my friends, the elections are a farce and please if the admins of this site are to be concerned with anything it should be that, we are no fools to be tricked into believing that the status quo is the only option for the Pakistani people.

    Dear Pakistanies,

Now as the Election compain has been started, for which Mr. President might be very nervous because even he tries for unfair elections there are NO Chances of winning the PML Q- the Kings Party. It seems that from Attock to Multan area PML N will sweap the Elections and will get maximun seats, due to the hate of people for PML Q also broken MMA. PPP dont have bigger chances to Win elections but will get equal or more seats in the NA.

Musharraf BABA has created the same situation of 1973 elections- if the elections will not be fair their will be a bloody evolution. Mushy Bas…. has really turned everything in his favour, he is self scented and we wish to see his worst Anjam and please dont let him run from Pakistan, he is the Killer of hundreds and thousands innocent Pakistanies…the reality is that more than 15000 people were killed in his era due to him…including the 7200 people including the Pakistani Army Soulders and Frontier people in Kargil war.

Who were the one who always fight shoulder to Shoulder with Pakistan Army in all battle fields, those were people of NWFP, they were the one who took the existing Azad Kashmir from India and today Musharraf taken U Turn and blaming these Army trained Pakistanies as Terrorist, what a petty…Our Borders were safe due to these brave people, these are not Terrorist, its their idelogy and concepts, believe from last 200 years and they can’t change them in US Pressure. They are never against Pakistan or Pk Army, They are misused and now mishandled.

For the Coming Elections 2008- every body is concerned that The Elections Should be Fair and No bangling takes place like of 2002…

All the Nation should be United against Musharraf, PML Q and MQM. These Chaudaries of Gujrat should be Killed in one line, they are opertunist and always get the benifits on the Country sake.

Please get United and Vote against Musharraf to get again Freedom for Pakistan.

    Thanks
