Well, I think that Geo itself is responsible for this shutdown. The government showed lot of tolerance before this decision of shutting down all the channel was taken. Now, I heard that government is planning to open all the channel except one, and I think it would be Geo. In my opinion media was not showing the responsibility and was not following the code of ethics correctly and was just critisizing the government. I live in USA and I can certainly say this, and I wont be exaggeratting when I say this that, before Nov 3rd, Pakistani media was more freer than the media in America. There was not even a concept of censor ship on Pakistani Media at all, Media was showing the dead bodies of people and suicide bombers without even first giving the warnings. I think that some of the Pakistani media abuses it and didnot fullfill responsilbility in a right fashion.
Lets take an example of USA, the biggest free enterprise in the world. The US government told the media not to show the body bags of dead american soldiers, that are being killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, so that the people of america wont get too offended and start demanding the return of the soldiers. The american media complied and didnot show any thing like that on tv media as well as press media.
Unfortunately, in Pakistan, some of the channels were just bashing the government and they were trying to make things more difficult for the government to handle. So, I think that this SHUTDOWN was rightly imposed by the government, and now government needs to give all tv channels a Code of Ethics, to keep them under control.

We have to behave like rational human beings once we are literate and can think logically.

I think that according to Einstein ” Nothing is absolute” in this world. So you can never regard any person or group of people to be Evil entirely. So every person has some good traits and some bad. But we have to analyze and prefer the amount of goodness in him or them.

Therefore to blame GEO entirely as a channel supporting DARK and EVIL forces is an act of naive.

Yes I partly agree with you that there some policies which to be reviewed but you can never say that MUSHARRAF is masoom(SINLESS, INNOCENT).

So if you sense that a channel is biased still it has the right to broadcast if you are an adherent of FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

Even if you are supporting MUSHARAF consider GEO as a watchdog which monitors your faults and it compels you to be on the right path.

So whatever channel, newspaper or any source of information you are following please do consider it as the freedom of Speech

i agree with u 100%. it is true that geo exploited pakistan and tried to divide our country so the enemy of our country shall rule once more through divide and rule. Dr shahid i had great respect for him when he presented lebanan but i am very sorry to say this i regret that i respected him those who do not share the interest of pakistan are not my people and pray they be eliminated and pray for those who serve pakistan interest and elimnate institutions such as geo who had left no bonds to destroy pakistan. i will request all pakistanis and inluding the admin to stop serving the interest of those who do not serve the interest of pakistan.

Your views are not matched with realities. GEO got leadership with their honest and balanced covereg. GEO did not accept envelopes from ISI or government how dare you claiming that it founded by Americans

GEO is a subsidiary to Jang Group which is the second biggest Group in Pakistan. The group owns billions of Dollars, therefore spending a few million dollars won’t be a problem for them specially at the time when resisting the Government would make this Channel the biggest (also as per viewership) because of its honesty and solid stand for freedom of speech.
