Majority in Pakistan wants Musharraf out: poll WASHINGTON, Dec 13 (AFP): Most Pakistanis want to see President Pervez Musharraf out of power, according to the first poll released since the general declared a state of emergency last month, US media said Thursday. Sixty-seven percent of those surveyed said he should resign immediately, according to the New York Times which cited a poll by the International Republican Institute, a conservative-leaning civic group based in Washington. There is no doubt that there is going to be massive rigging in Pakistan elections - Caretaker PM Somoroo is also involved in rigging in elections in Jacobabad where he has got the opponent of his niece and sister from PMLN locked in police station and he is facing a worst kind of torture.
Caretake goverment is itself involved in massive rigging.
Zafar Ali shah was candidate from NA48, islamabad where I have a family home. He only got 3000 votes in 2002 which was even less than PTI candidate, whom I voted for and still regret for that (he was not other than black faced ahmed raza kasuri). this time he had no chance of getting pmln ticket at least from this constituency because of his bad performance. he has also not been awarded tickets from NA55-56, where hanif abbasi and javed hasmi wil kick @ss of sheikh rasheed (which I guess he will enjoy anyway remembering his days at gordon college ). So I guess, Zafar ali shah is just trying to do a face saving
In these elections there is room for lota politicians, politicians without long time planning and politicians without a vision. Anyone else with his/her full senses intact will withdraw from the SELECTIONS staged by the GHQ to please the Yankees.
The boycotting and brave Pakistanis will have a tough time, but will ultimately be deserving winners of this conflict , inshallah!
