many happy returns of the day….. progress on PKP… i see…. certainly some bold changes….. back myself after a long hiatus….. hope to catch on to the goings on of this forum…. Happy Eid to everyone…. dont forget the less fortunate shall we…
I guess I wouldnt say ‘Eid Mubarak’ to anyone of my Pakistani brother, because there is no meaning of such days and terms when a nation is living under slavery. When over 90% of my country men are living with their basic rights suppressed, when there is no social and economic justice, When they live under constant fear of an army operation, being kidnapped by agencies anytime, having their lives and properties subject to occupation from mighty and powerful, when suicide bombs are exploding almost everywhere, When there is no hope in the pitch darkness of our country’s present and future, When there is no freedom of speech, expression and movement.
We as a nation are doomed for failure and salavery? So let’s not pretend to be festive and celeberatory. Like Allama Iqbal Said:
‘ Gulami main na kaam aati hain Tadbeerain na takdeerain’
May God show mercy on us and bestow His guidance to the right path, otherwise we will be of the sure losers!!!!
Asalamo Alikum and very happy Eid Mubarak to all of you. One thing which hurts me on day is that we celebrate Eid on three different days. Eid is not a triditional or cultural event rather it is an Islamic event. Therefore it should be celebrated the way our prophet(SaW) thought us, which means that we are one Ummah our land is one and our war is one and so is our Fasting and Eid. It is not allowed for muslims to celebrated Eid on different days. please please do some research about this issue and you will get the answere. I have done it and if you guys want me to send you that it would be my pleasure.
I am sorry to say I disagree with you. Yes in Holy Prophet peace be upon him days it was celebrated on one day but that was because firstly Muslim state was only in Madina and Holy Prophet pbuh has set the criteria for observance of moon which makes it impossible to celebrate Eid on one day as earth is moving round sun and moon revolves around the Earth and different places on earth has different time zones.
Yes what I would fully agree that should not happen is celebrating Eid in one place on different days,. That should not happen. But problem in UK is that there are two or three types of ulema – one group belongs to Arab countries , second of subcontinent origin and even in them there is sometimes division between Sunni and Shia.
What they all can agree on is that they should celebrate Eid on whoever first declares that they have seen teh moon and that Shahadat should be accepted.
Similarly in Pakistan I wonder at times that if say for example trival areas do declare that they have seen the moon then it should be accepted all over Pakistan and goverment should gracefully accept that rather than imposing Reut Hilal order and create dissensions.
The only thing which can go against is that they should see the pattern of number of days each year Ramadhan is observed in tirbal areas. If it is consistently 29 days then obviously these guys are wrong but if it varies between 29 and 30 days then I believe the goverment should pack up Reut Hilal and not waste money on that and if its declared in tribal areas that moon has been sighted – one should accept it. That would solve the problem of two Eids in Pakistan once for all.
Totally agree with c hussain.
We Muslims have same problem here in US which is the division of Muslims in Arabs and Subcontinent scholars, as mention above by c hussain. Here in US, we have ICNA (Islamic Circle of Noerth America) which is lead by subcontinent scholars and then there is ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) which is dominated by Arab scholars.
What do you say about it. I find it very disgusting – we should not use mosque for these purposes at all. On one hand if a non-Muslim enters our mosque we say it descrates our mosque but slaughtering animals right in middle of mosque is absolutely detestful.
In fact slaughtering animals in front of kids is itself a very bad thing because it teaches wrong messages – the way the animal loses its life – its psychopathic and barbaric.
I am not saying one should not do qurbaini – that is essential and we all as Muslims should do – and I do it also every year – but like this – my god – what message does it send to the world when its published in a newspaper – what would Musharraf say about this – what image does this bring up in the world about the Muslims.
Eid Mubarak to all, admin deserves loads of Eidi..
