what is Aitzaz yammering about? Punjab, Sindh, etc. how is the average Punjabi responsible for this? why is the federation in danger because of this. I am a so-called Punjabi (though I consider myself a Pakistani only) and I want the army out of politics as much as anyone else. it isn’t about Punjab or Sindh, it is simply a case of Pakistan. we need the dictator dog out of politics and the army resigned to the barracks.

this isn’t a Punjab, Sindh issue. Benazir shouldn’t have gone this way. this is tragic and Aitzaz needs to use some judgment and show some leadership instead of mouthing the familiar cliches.

what a dumb comment. average sindhi would blame punjab for that. she was killed in pindi although she was attacked in karachi too. federation is in danger and if we cannot understand that we are the dumbest people on earth. there is already insurgency in balochistan. if sind is destabilized we would be in trouble and a serious one. there has always been a claim that punjab and nwfp dominate the army. sindhis are rightly upset and if we cant understand their anger then God help us. we need to reconciliate with our sindhi brothers

AA is right. He says that many Karore Punjabis support BB. While you say that BB shouldn’t have gone away, it is Musharraf who souldn’t have gone this far.

AA has praised NS and said that Punjab should play a role to save Pakistan.

Instead of calling for his immediate release, you want him to show some leadership. That sounds like Mush lover language.

Listen to his statement again. You are mouthing the familiar ‘Jinnah pur’ mentality while claiming to be a ‘punjabi’.

Such attacks don’t happen without a ‘proper’ support and infrastructure.

BB was attacked in Karachi (support and infrastructure of MQM was used)

BB was attacked in Rawalpindi (support and infrastructure of Army was used)

Even NS envoy was ambushed in Pindi while he was safe in Lahore (because there is no GHQ in Lahore!!)

go grow a brain. I am as far from a supporter of the dictator dog as you can get. go read any of my posts.

all I am saying is that Aitzaz could have said a million other things. the man is on the verge of becoming a hero if he isn’t one already but I’m always amazed at how small his vision is. try to READ what I’m saying for a change. we’re all very sad. and we need to get the dictator and the army out. I just wish Aitzaz could have realized his stature and issued a more pertinent statement. I think he still doesn’t realize how important a political figure he has become and that he’s held in high esteem among average Pakistanis.

Tarar, It is all about perception. And today people of Pakistan think Punjab army did it. Nusrat of Bolta Pakistan had some view, so does many thousand in Pakistan actually. The GHQ of Punjab army has taken their revenage on Bhuttos. May Allah have mercy on the land of Pir Shams Multani. Dada of Lahore.

I think AA could have said Million other things, but he rightly seems worried about this incident being CASHED by people to fuel the tensions and hatred between provinces.

I followed complete coverage from assasination onward. You know what did Altaf said. He said “It is the third prime minister from SINDH which has been killed in Punjab”. He said that his statment should not be taken negatively, but he continued to emphasise on “SINDHI PMs killed in PUNJAB”. Effectively, using the TV ads technique, the message he left was “SINDHI PMs killed in PUNJAB”.

Fully agree that punjab does not have any role in this tragedy, PPP has higher support from Punjab than Sindh, but I still fear that there will be people and parties who will fuel anti punjab sentiments to gain their own objectives (Jinnah Pur etc). Like it or not (I certainly don’t like it) but it is a dirty truth.

Can we do something to avoid further damage?

Can we agree on that BB’s assasination is a great national tragedy, but it should not at all, not at any cost, be alllowed for fueling hatred among provinces.

    Can we spread this message.

I SICERELY HOPE THAT MUSHARAF AND ALL THE GENERALS OF PAKISTAN MEET THE SAME FATE AS THE BHUTTO FAMILY.

I HAVE THE SAME PRAYER FOR BILAL MUSHARAF AND THE DAUGHTER OF MUSHARAF AS WELL AS ZIA’ S FAMILY AND AYUB KHANS FAMILY.

EXAMPLES OF PUNISHMENT AND VANDETTA HAVE BEEN SET FOR POLITICIANS, JUDGES, BEAUROCRACY AND THE CIVIL SOCIETY.

ZA BHUTTO AND BENAZIR LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES FOR PAKISTAN, LOOK AT WHAT THIS ARMY DID TO QADEER KHAN, THE CHIEF JUSTICE, THE MEDIA AND THE LIST IS ENDLESS.

IT IS ONLY THE GENERALS OF PAKISTAN AND THEIR FAMILIES THAT HAVE REMAINED ABOVE THE LAW AND UNTOUCHABLE.

90,000 ARMY SOILDERS SURRENDERED IN DACCA AND NONE WERE HANGED, AYUB, ZIA AND MUSHARAF DESTROYED THE COUNTRY AND NON OF THESE DICTATORS WERE HANGED.

THE CHILDREN OF THESE DICTATORS ARE THE RICHEST AND MOST INFLUENTIAL IN THE COUNTRY AND NONE OF THEM IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

NOW IS THE TIME THAT SOMETHING BE DONE OTHERWISE IF THESE GENERALS AND ARMY STILL CONTINUE TO RULE THAN SIMPLY FORGET PAKISTAN.

WILL WE AS A NATION REMAIN SUBSERVIANT TO THIS CORRUPT AND USELESS ARMY OR WILL WE TAKE THEM TO TASK?

BB was betrayed by her own party leadership. The party needed another ’shaheed’ to once again command the masses that it did once. The reputation of BB was totally destroyed because of all the corruption she and her husband were accountable for. The party’s vote bank had also deteriorated because of her prolonged secret deal with Musharraf. A sacrifice was the only way to revive the party. She became the sacrificial lamb. She probably realised this and that’s why returned to Dubai but then somebody convinced her to come back.
