New York Times say that US should pressurize Musharraf to Reinstate the deposed judges and allow Nawaz Sharif to participate in Elections.
New York Times Editorial says:
With next month’s parliamentary elections already scrambled, Washington must now call for new rules to assure a truly democratic vote.
That means a relatively brief delay to allow Ms. Bhutto’s party, probably the country’s largest, to choose a new candidate for prime minister and mount an abbreviated campaign. Washington must also demand that Pakistan’s other main opposition leader, Nawaz Sharif, be allowed to run. And it must insist that Mr. Musharraf reinstate the impartial Supreme Court judges he fired last month in order to block them from overturning his rigged election.

I am proud to say that why US or any other country should interfare in Pakistan .
I agree with that every one should have right to come in election and yes Pakistan need brave independent courts and all the judges who had been removed last moth should reinstead in courts and these judges who took oath on PCO must have to remove from post.It should the reponsiblity of Supreme Court and High Courts to protect the Law and consititution of Pakistan. They should punish that people who broke Law and consitution and make them a moral lesson for others that no one more thing about doing this act.
We should stad on our own feets and decide every thing according to wishes of people of Pakistan and interest of Pakistan. We need relationships and friendship and support of other Countries including US,Uk etc with our honour ,diginity otherwise we donot need relation with these countries.

Really funny comments. But the facts are that Shk Rasheed, Ijaz ulhaq and co. are our leaders. We elected them and we again would elect them because we dont have any choice. We cannot go to any court for justice. Mark my words, AS LONG AS THERE ARE JUSTICES FOR SALE , LIKE THE ONES IN COURTS NOW, THE DESTINY OF OUR COUNTRY WOULD NOT CHANGE. It would be the same old faces with the same old habits. The nation of Pakistan is so down in pits that they would choose Mr. Asif Zardari (the king of corruption) as our PM very soon. Just wait and see.

Azlone
Well i disagree with you if people elect Zardari as PM then its their choice. Let them choose their own leader and live with it. Who are you to force your choice on others. Yes what you can do is to give an alternative choice and let the PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN DECIDE IN FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS. Dont do character assassination of Zardari because even if he had murdered someone and had got life imprisonment he has actually served a sentence greater than that of life imprisonment.
The second point is that Justices should be restored - I agree with you on that - so why dont you organise a movement or march in Pakistan - after all you have teh services of IK and Qazi who is always more than willing to lead a million march.
The nation would not go down in pits due to Zardari elected but has already gone down due to Musharraf, army, MQM, Qatil League and judiciary (pco). Blame them first and then if and when Zardari comes we would see.
On one hand you are crying for restoration of judges and I am sure for rule of law and on other hand you are refusing to accept the decision of people of pakistan in fair polls whomever they wish to elect.
Until and unless we develop this thinking that we respect the laws and rules of the game we are never going out of the pit.

ALL JUDGES WHO WERE SENT HOME SHOULD BE REINSTATED WITH HONOUR AND THOSE APPORTUNITIEST WHO TOOK OATH UNDER PCO SHOULD BE SACKED WITHOUTH ANY BENIFITS AS A PUNISHMENT. MUSHARAF SHOULD STEP DOWN AND APOLIGISE WITH THE NATION OF SELF CENTERED ACTIONS WHICH BROUGHT THE NATION EMBARASSEMENT IN FRONT OF WHOLE WORLD .
PPP IS NOT A PEOPLES PARTY RATHER ITS A LARKANA BUTTO FAMILY PARTY. WHAT A SHAME A YOUNG BOY OF 19YRS IS MADE CHAIREMAN OF THE PARTY WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT POLITICS AND MOST CORRUPT PERSON MR 10%, LATER UPGRADED TO MR 50% WHO PLAYED SIGNIFICANT ROOL IN BRINGING BAD NAME TO PPP IS NOW IN CONTROL OF THE PPP. ITS A PARTY OF MASTERS SERVED BY SLAVES ( COMMOM PERSON) WHO ARE DECEIVED AND USED SINCE THE CREATION OF PPP ( PAKISTAN PERSONAL PARTY ).
AS FAR AS MUSHARAF IS THERE PAKISTAN HAS LITTLE HOPE KEEPING HIS PREVIOUS RECORD WHICH HAS GIVEN POOR PEOPLE UNREST, SUICIDE BOOMBING CULTURE, PRICE HIKE, UNEMPLOYMENT, IN JUSTICE . DEFAMING ARMY FOR HIS OWN INTREST . GENERALS( RED CAPS ) PROSPERITY TO HOLD HIS CONTROL . ARMY IS PRIMARALEY TRAINED TO DEFEND BORDERS BUT ITS LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE EXPERTS IN TAKING OVER DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT AND MAKI NG FORTUNE THROUGH REAL ESTATE ( DEFENSE HOUSING AUTHORITY ) AND OTHER AVENUES.
BUT WITH ALL THIS NEGATIVES PAKISTAN IS RESILIENT TO OVERCOME THESE SHORT COMMINGS AS NATURE WILL ELIMINATE THES UGLY FACES ULTIMATELY.

Coming back to the original topic…the U.S. establishment is considering NS as the next PM. Hence the New York Times article In preparation of that. And like it or not, U.S. interference in Pakistan (as in several other countries) is a reality.
