Re: the dhandlee itself, as I watched it, I must confess that I felt ashamed at being a Pakistani. Maybe it would be best if God destroys this nation, as we truly are wicked. The lot of us. All of us. Top to bottom, we are rotten as a nation. We are not even a nation.
And we try to compensate for our wickedness by hitting the ground at higher and higher velocities… Oh what josh-o-kharosh we have as we steal the bread from an orphan yet we have kalima and durood on our tongues. We are indeed wicked. All of us. The lot of us.

A wonderful and courageous effort by Aaj TV in showing the true picture of polling. But i think such program should have a bit longer span. This one was only 18min or so which is too short.

Great effort from Aaj TV. I think programme was recorded before Muhtarma benezir´s murder. As Nizami was saying that Mian NS and BB are back in pakistan.

Thanks for this, very true but all the Lotaas are giving their views like babur, Ishaaq, sheikh Rasheed, Saeed Rafiq etc… well most of the Muslim League including Nawaz Sharif was once a Horse who was traded by Pres. Zia. Now the horses are hollering as why they are not in their stable. Sometime we comments on Ayub, sometimes Zia and now Musharraf but the truth is the politicians are the main culprit incuding me who keeps on supporting these leaders and Feudals and corrupt Generals.
A good analysis. But look how Hameed Gul and Roedad Khan are talking. They were part and parcel of Zia regime and invented all dirty things and tricks that Mush is reusig now. Hameed Gul is so shameless that he openly admitts making of IJI by ISI with public money.
My blood pressure rises to new level, when after every decent program there is some PATRIOTIC person has to put blame on politicians. Now the program has raised very decent points. What we get a response from people like @nam?
I have to ask one thing? how many time we have seen a general serving a jail sentence for 8 years, without any guilty verdict? Should be start to believe that these guys are angels?

Pakistan’s history would have been different (and much better) if Bhutto could have the courage to hold free elections in 1977 !!!
The mother of all points was that of Asef Ahmed Ali, i.e. the BA condition has disenfrachized 99% of the pakistanis as they have no right to contest.
Yes BA degree condition should be scrapped because given the literacy rate in Pakistan it defranchizes the 99 percent population of Pakistan and that is not fair. Everyone should have right to stand in teh elections even if they are not literate and let the people decide.
If you compare the graduate assembly with previous assemblies – previous assemblies had more morals and ethics
In this assembly people bought bogus degrees and got away with it. The famous example was that guy from MQM who now runs Alim on Line – Amir Liaqat and even madrassa degrees were forcibly counted as equivalent to BA so ulema were also lying about their credentials. So this condition should be scapped once for all.
adonis, 1977 election were not rigged yes 10 to 15 seat where in question and that to was done by establishment now it is know fact. Second, every know how US pour the money to over throw the ZAB Government. Dollar rate were all of sudden drop in open market in Pakistan. Actually dollar were even distributed through mosque. Even JI now accept their crime against ZAB.

Vey interesting points and program. I am a physician and am educated inspite of this i agree that if people want to choose illiterate leaders they should be allowed as this is how democracy works all over the world.
If the illiterate are not allowed and graduation is a pre-condition than hang musharaf for allowing the mullahs to come into assembly on the basis of medrassah degrees which are not equatable to graduation by any stretch of the imagination.
If 1977 elections were as bad as they were portrayed by Zia and his generals why did they not hold elections untill Zia (mardood) died, and even after 11 years of annihilation of PPP by administration, civil and military beurocracy PPP still emerged victorious.
Musharaf has made a kings party (Q league, MQM and Mullahs), kings military (you know what i mean), kings judiciary, kings constitution and has eliminated all democratic leaders either by putting them in jail, barring them from elections or killing them.
I dont know whats next the reason i say that is that each time as a nation we think we have hit rock bottom and the only way to go is go up and rise, these dictators dig deeper and drag us further down.
I wish that these dictators and their families are held accountable and made an example of, so that no man in uniform ever again crosses the limits laid by the constitution.

Hameed Gul accepts rigging the elction by forming then funded IJI.He says that this was done to make sure the democracy stay on track which is tottaly incorrect.This was done fearing PPP popularity and puting hurdels on the PPP way.
