    I wish whole country has such justice.
    This is all hypocrisy saying that Pakistan is Islamic country. It should be but it is not. It is a secular country ruled by dictators and where there is no justice. I hope Swat will show way to whole country.
    Talat is so much against Islamic laws in Pakistan. I do not know why…. Otherwise he is a good media person…

    Without proper education every system is corrupt. So all those people who have been busy supporting these “secular” dictators (in the name of Islam) should just calm down for a second and think about what exactly do they mean by “Islamic Laws”

    The need for justice is urgent. If you doubt this-please go to any city or village in the NWFP and you will become aware of the GROUND REALITY. Everyday- yes every day people, children are being kidnapped for ransom. This phenomenon we owe to Musharraf’s illegal and immoral treatment of the CJ and Judiciary. In lahore and the rest of punjab people are being kidnapped and killed and this is not being reported in the newsmedia. One can sit in the US and know what is going on but if you are Pakistan- you do not know much of anything as to what is happening untill one of your own is kidnapped . Musharraf has kidnapped the entire country- so the little man who has no money and food is kidnapping people for money. The breakdown of Law and order that we are dealing in NWFP is the by-product of the total disdain for the rule of law that Musharraf and his cronies have shown.
    I am very pessimistic and I hope someone has some more optimistic options.

    @ SomeOne
    It’s not about being anti islamic laws but pro equal rights for everyone, there are hindus in sindh that have been part of this land way, way before the incepton of pakistan, why do they not deserve equal right, afterall it is their birthright as a pakistani, A justice rana bhagwandas is a far better Pakistani than majority of muslims here, he can’t be president but all the other loser and dictators can? what gives you or anyone the right to question his patriotism just because he is non-muslim. I think you would do well to remember that pakistan came into being because a minority (muslims) were denied equal rights and opourtunity, atleast learn from your own past.

    you only have to read your own words to see your own bias “Talat is so much against Islamic laws in Pakistan. I do not know why…. Otherwise he is a good media person…” infact if you go over the program you will not find a single instance of talat saying anything anti-islamic but definitely against the sham that is being sold as islamic in swat (but i suppose as long as narrow-minded, mentally bankrupt people like you exist people really can push anything in the name of isalm).

    @redux: Very well put

    I think our friend @someone needs to do some reading aside from propagandist islamist literature out there. I also didn’t get the Syed Talat being anti Islamic comment. What people need to understand is that being anti Mullah (and I’m not suggesting Talat is) is not anti Islamic.

    In pakistan after that Mardood Zia we have a culture of people equating their own personal opinion and interpretation of “Islam” — no matter how illiterate and misguided — as being the right path and everyone else who disagrees with them being “anti Islamic”

    The ignorance is so great that without an educational revolution, or a revolution itself, we will not have any recourse to sanity.
