Satellite transmissions of Aaj were shut down Wednesday after a prominent critic of the Musharraf government, Nusrat Javed, appeared on a late-night political talk show, according to The Associated Press. Though all the channels eventually broadcast again, many did so only after taking anchors and journalists critical of the government off the air and curtailing live coverage of demonstrations and other events that showed opposition to the government.

I heard that Live With Talat has been Mushed. Right now, I am watching a repeat program about the legality of Mush’s hashing of constitution. Can anyone confirm if LWT is continuing.
maybe we should start a petition against Musharraf and ask via chainmail for people to sign it? just as an experiment to see how many people we can get to sign this

If anything the episode where they discussed the legality of the proclamation of emergency (read martial law) should have been more bothersome, I thought the nusrat javed episode was pretty tame (other than suggesting that the elections are rigged for a PPP Q League outcome, but then he’s not the only one saying that,and then towards the end that mush might suffer the 58(2b) itch within 3 months of election, but we’ve heard that too), perhaps it was the back to back combo that sent Mush’s over sensitive digestive tract into diarrhoea mode.
The govt. has since denied pulling Aaj off air and has asked PEMRA to report on the incidence, i wonder why they bother with this facade.
I have recorded the last 3 episodes of LWT but did not get time to upload them.
Hopefully I will do them late tonight.
