Hey Good work! I hope this majoosi dayyoos is not going to be the top picture on the page.. it just p!sse5 me off when I see his bootha as the first thing the page loads…
February 8th, 2008 at 12:01 am
May I ask if there is a relationship of these pictures to the contents? Anyway these pictures do not render properly in Explorer 6.0. SC picture is floating alone at the bottom.

Dear Admin,
The very initial version of pkpolitics.com was probably the best one.
This one looks very ordinary, the one prior to this was still relatively better.
This one looks totally childish.
Thanks,
February 8th, 2008 at 12:20 am
sorry to disappoint u sir , but the previous one was much better and was soothing to the eyes, this is really not good, in my humble opinion.
February 8th, 2008 at 12:20 am

I think it is good to keep changing.
February 8th, 2008 at 12:51 am
Everyone,
Please send me some pics to replace the ones currently on the site. I got them in hurry to fill the space and want to replace with something that looks better.
The width should be 185 pixels with roughly between 350 and 450 pixel height.
Please email them to “admin at pkpolitics dot com”.
Thanks,
Admin

admin, no offense intended but this look is UGLY compare to the previous one
February 8th, 2008 at 1:52 am
Please reserve some space for Pak flag and should be some where at the top.

Munir

I like the new look, no doubt you’ll need to tweak it but here is what I like and what might be worth looking into:
Likes:
(i) Clean, uncluttered look, plus the header up top will give you opportunity to monetize which is good because you are putting in a lot of work.
(ii) I like the tabbed “Most views/most emailed/” etc.
Nice to have:
Might want to change the middle column with big picture and have the same size that flicker widget used (85×85 or something?) And then Link all to their respective content.
So basically Benazir would like to a query which return all benazir related items, Talat will point to Live with Talat etc.
These could be 2 or 3 per row in the middle where the big pictures are. And please get rid of that FOOL illegal wannabe “prez” from the top of the pic he DOESN”T DESERVE that spot.
I would put the heroes of the 2nd Tehreek-e Pakistan (Ch. Iftikhar, Ch Aitezaz, NS, BB etc in the first group which could be “Polictical/Social leaders)…
I guess I’m thinking like what Pakistaniat does..
Anyway.. good work, and personally I like the cleaner look (and please NO CHEESY Pakistani Jhanda on everything…(maybe a small one somewhere, but no flag draping please!)
Khuda GharQ karay Badbakht Zia-ul-Haq ko.. hamaeN jhanDay kaa fetish day gayaa kutta mardood!
February 8th, 2008 at 2:33 am
@Tab’an Khamosh
No dought about the crimes done during 11 years of Zia era.
These crimes realy damaged Pakistan.
The history says every thing about truth.
I remember the time when ZIA was being labeled as Mard-e-Momin by few establishment paied journalists like Abdul Qadir etc..
Supporters of Zia and NS then were not accepting anything against Zia.
Now we see hardly a supporter of Zia and the history is telling truth.
Wait for some more years and we see more truths in the future.
May Allah Bless us all and Pakistan.
Regards,
Munir

@munir: I’m not against having a tasteful flag somewhere where it adds to the context.. but having flags just for the sake of having it is something we started doing during his goddamned rule.. may he burn in hell forever that FILTHY PIG! and all those who supported him and his “rufaQa” jurnails should reach the same end (only if we’re lucky HA!)
Dil pakistani nahiN to Jhandday hilaany say kuCh naheeN hogaa!
NS and his family may have taken advantage of the opportunity at the time, but even Bigger supporters of Zia and Tyranny were then Jamaat and Muhajir Qaatil Movement. Along with the Yerkails of our record holding army (record number of them surrendered to “darpok” hindus… .BRAVO!)

@admin.
I really like a change, & MAYBE, U R interested in trying to bring a fresh look.
I also tend to agree with nearly all the suggestions, given by members, as above, like, NOT showing pics of a person disliked by majority of Pakistanis,
( you know, who, ) etc; etc;
But the RULE OF THUMB, or a safe way-out, would be, to do what the MAJORITY of members / visitors to this column WISH, U to do.
PIcture of Ms Asma Shirazi, seems to give a fresh look, & I only hope that what she CONTRIBUTES, is also FRESH, & IN LINE, with the ASPIRATIONS of the MAJORITY of Pakistanis & members alike, i.e; the hatred AGAINST ‘ONE-MAN’ RULE & to contribute towards their EFFORTS for a ‘ RULE OF LAW, ‘ in our BELOVED homeland, called, Pakistan.
( ALLAH, ES MULK KO ,HAMESHA KAIM, AUR DAIM, AUR ABAD RAKHAE ;
AUR DUSHMANO KE NAPAK IRADON KO, TEHIS AUR NEHIS ,KAR DEH.

I think last version was much better. I do not know why admin has changed it.
February 8th, 2008 at 6:18 am
What ever you do make change no change but PLEASE REMOVE MUSH PHOTO FROM THE FRONT….. I do not want to see him first thing in the morning. the whole day goes bad already not looking at the news papers it is all his BS so please do us favour. As it is you can put the photos of our anchors …The good ones not biased ones … you know what I mean…. will appriciate it
February 8th, 2008 at 8:11 am
Now the look is better and nearer to HCI principles
February 8th, 2008 at 8:45 am
@ Admin
1. I think the previous one was better. But then may be I liked that more because of “familiarity” and ‘ll get to used to of this new one as well.
2. VERY IMPORTANT. Admin, I know to run the site, you need adds. But it is a sober site and adds like HOT BABES and DATE HOT ARAB GIRLS reflect poorly about the site. Can you avoid these adds OR at least, change the headings????
Plsssssssssss
February 8th, 2008 at 8:55 am
Admin,
i think the first lay out was better then these two.
i use to like the top band with images of leaders and anchors .
over all new one looks a little hotch potch lay out make up ….
i know …u ppl must have put a great hard work and time into it .
i really appreciate it …change is always nice and shud be welcome….
just change some placements and the lay out wud be great ….inshallah
February 8th, 2008 at 9:07 am
nice i like it..
February 8th, 2008 at 11:29 am
@admin
I think the middle column containing pictures is not serving any purpose so applying any 2 columns wordpress theme is a good option.
February 8th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
We appreciate your efforts to keep it all the time fresh but excuse me as like most of otherss I also like the previous style and the first one which was simple, comprehensive, concise, soothing to the eyes and more natural.
Well style with respect to HOW you put the things on their is one thing and WHAT you put is just an other thing. I think later is more important for the integrity of the site and those who run and visit it.
I don’t like the new style of Photos because
1- they are too big in size ( look childish, in addition to expanding the pixels and decreasing the quality of photo) due to big size you can put only fewer photos
2- Well unlike others I don’t say that remove Mush’s Photo but keeping him at the top ( or at first place if it would be a row instead of column) is not okay. To remove him at all would be a denial of the ground fact but to keep him at the top is no way justice. as he 8 now has a common (fluctuating) position in Pakistan politics so he should be ………commonly depicted.
3- I suggest that instead of only photos of the current players if you could just make two rows at the top of the page, the upper row showing the important events in history of Pakistan right from the beginning ( showing Iqbal’s famous dreaming style picture, some speech visual of Quaid-e-Azam ) wars, industrial development, 1998 atomic blasts and so on and so forth!
4- Making boxes of giving special background to the different sections ( like you have four right now on right side) would make it better.
5- In addition to it, homepage should contain such highlights from all sections ( Archives, Discuss, Heroes, Missing, …………) that it should compel the visitor to also visit those pages.
Hope you will consider,
Regards,
Ayaz.

Middle column with pictures has no relation to the content next to it. If you gotta have the pictures, may be a smaller size? T
he change from first to second layout was understandable because of content. We are still also trying to understand the logic behind change from 2nd to 3rd?
February 8th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
This new look is not attractive at all, look quite ordinary to me!!
February 8th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
Much better than before, but still much room for improvement. May Allah bless you for your sincere efforts.
February 8th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
Hi ADMIN…first of all I totally agree with Tab’an Khamosh and Ajnabi and others…PLEASE REMOVE THE TYRANT from your first page..ughhhhh! Even the best graphics in the world are ruined by the presence of this toad on the first page… ;-(
Frank opinion is that the blue shade is a little unbecoming… I thought it might grow on me but when I came back to the site several hours later, it still was insipid… doesn’t reflect the overall vitality of the site….
a bit of tweaking required… a good graphic designer should be able to help out…
Meanwhile you all have probably seen S. Yard’s announcement that BB died due to a head injury…..
errrr…. no body to examine, no post-mortem, crime site expeditiously washed away by toad’s minions…
How in heaven’s name can they [S Yard] be so conclusive ??
Seems a bit strange to me
February 8th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
As pointed out in above comments the photo of defecto Dictator be replaced with Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Nation . To me it looks some thing missing ,Aitzaz Ahsan, Hamid Mir, Mushtaq Minhas , C.J . Make it fresh looking by removing the image of the one most hated ugly and unwanted person .
February 8th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
Kashif Abassi ’s name is also worth mentioning .
February 8th, 2008 at 9:46 pm
friends: this is tragic….so very sad
the dictator must go

@ Admin,
This is a good effort at your part to freshen up this forum. Conversely, this new site looks more like the website of a newspaper particularly, the title of PKPOLITICS. Moreover, in the last website the aesthetics were better in terms of colour combination. But in this website you’ve arranged the contents in a better way. So, what you can do is that you can keep the new layout and use the colour combination of the old website. Let’s see how it goes!
Secondly, my dear Pakistanis, do not try to be so undemocratic while asking admin for deleting the picture of our President. Every person on this earth has right to exist and express itself. So please be open to embrace change from your end… I think my humble suggestion can assist us to keep the democratic spirit of this website.
Thank you for your attention.
February 9th, 2008 at 10:56 am
Keep it up.
Somebody asked about the relationship of the pictures in the middle column. Here is what I can think of,
The order of the pictures is basically a protest against president whose arm/fist in the picture shows the intent “Yes I have done good to them!!!”. All the pictures that follow are victims of his arm/rule.
February 9th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
I still think this GhaaSib shouldn’t be on top. but that is my opinion, maybe admin is keeping it for non-pakistani viewers who only recognize Mush or BB’s picture from recent coverage.
Anyhoo, @admin the latest vid you upload of Javed Malek with Nawaz Sharif has no sound!
February 9th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
@ admin
Is it just me who cannot click on the headline ‘featured articles’? and there is no link at the bottom of top featured articles that says ‘more featured articles ….>’
I find it difficult to see other featured articles that were there a few days ago.
February 10th, 2008 at 1:36 am
Hi Admin,
What happened to polls. Used to be on main page. Also, the Supreme Court picture is hanging below the visitors News Views section. But in the same column as other pics. I am using IE6.0
February 10th, 2008 at 7:11 am

@admin Pk.politics.
Reference Ur request to readers for desired pics; as stated on 08 Feb 08 above’
I am sure somebody will sooner or later oblige.
As for my request in these columns, somewhere earlier, COULD U PLEASE
LOOK into-it, regarding my PROPOSAL of PUTTING SERIAL NUMBERS, at Ur end, before each comment, forwarded by your valued readers ?
In this manner, I think it will BECOME easy for each of us, to trace & remember
each other’s comments, serial-wise. Thanks in advance, for considering my proposal.

Your new look sucks big times and puts a lot of pressure on my eyes, the navigation is really really poor on this one. Can you please take us back to the older one or the one before that and just stick with it?
February 11th, 2008 at 6:37 am
Assalam o allaikum
I miss the old look already…
I cant get used to the navigation in this layout. Also how can I access the older shows whose links are not shown on the home page? In the old theme I could go into the posted vids list and could watch any old episode… or is it something I am missing here…
Regards,
February 11th, 2008 at 9:18 am
Get the previous (smooth) look back or the one before that. I am also not able to view video postings as I was able to with the older one and the one before. Among the three looks we have had. The second one was good. It looked good and navigation was fairly reasonable. The very first one was the most easy and simple to navigate but did not look as good as the second one.
This recent look is pathetic. I would like to use every bad word offered by a dictionary to describe this one.
Can we PLEASE (I BEG OF YOU) go back to the older look. The second one was perfect. And can we please stick with that??? People get used to things and originality is actually a good thing if done properly. So, why not boost the content instead of trying to boost the looks in vein?
February 11th, 2008 at 9:21 am
All said, thank you for the work you are doing. You are helping Pakistanis all around the world. Just restore the previous looks though. Thank you.
February 11th, 2008 at 9:27 am
And why the hell do I see this shameless Musharraf’s face when I come to this site??? God, can you put pictures that are a little more soothing to one’s eyes. Honorable Chaudary Ifthikhar, Aitizaz, all the heroic anchors and lawyers :S But nooooo, all you got is Musharraf. Please, you make me mad. Put Benazir Bhutto or Nawaz Sharif, at least one can bare them. But Musharraf???? You have taken it a bit too far Admin.
February 11th, 2008 at 6:35 pm
@admin
I guess everybody is looking for the more link in the section. Like more “videos”, more “featured articles”. As going though the archive is bit confusing.
February 11th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
I am not receiving the alert emails if somebody is giving a comment where I also posted a comment, I think it should provide us alerts , it will be quite convenient.
