this is usual practise that MQM always win and beat opponents in this margin. Now I am happy to see that NS party is winning but you must accept MQM victory in khi and hyderabad too!
Also there is no rigging reports came from Karachi its a highly densly populated city and 4/5 mishaps can be happened.

    @JKS:

I dont think that PPP is concerned about the Restoration of CJP infact they will be happy to compromise with Mush as have mentioned by Zardari and other plus the same will be asked by US.

On the flip side, please remember that PMLN and PPP are basically AntiEach and can not work together for ever, If it comes down to that it will only last fro 5 to 6 months and again Mush will be the winner as mentioned by Hamid Mir in yesterday’s Jang.

Also one has to ask that even though both PMLN and PPP and APDM were saying about mass rigging than how come more than 90% of senior PMLQ leadership is out. There was no high voter turn out so how did it happen. Answer is simple, American had said that if PMLQ wins by majority than it means rigging and no aid for Mush.

“If Musharraf’s party beats all odds and ends up being the winner here, I think it will be viewed as a totally discredited undertaking,” Biden, the head of the powerful Senate foreign relations committee, told the American broadcasting network CNN.
    http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5hLLNCWqjKQys3euGONkkvNP_9lSQ

Therefore a stage is being set for Mush by Bush. Dont be surprised f this lasts for only less than one year. But I hope that I am wrong.

There are reports about complaints by PML-N in Hafizabad about delayed and then changed results on NA103 and PP107. According to them, the tally in their official result shows them as winner (NA103 with about 2000 votes and PP107 with 480 votes). They had also celebrated last night. However, later on the result was not declared by the returning officer on the plea that all the presiding officers had not provided the result. By early morning, the 2 seats had been goven to PML-Q.

They also claim that the lead of Saira Tarar in NA 102 (according to the the official results of polling stations) is about 21000 but the returning officer showed it to e 14000.

It could be possible that the slowing down of PML-N and PPP victories in the Punjab late night was engineered. Everybody saw that te initial trend did change during late hours and we saw a number of PML-Q wins….Farooq Leghari being one, even though his group lost all seats except Jaffer Leghari????

People understood and they gave their vote to MQM.So accept this please and with open heart. If you see previous post on this page then you will realise that i predict 20 Seats for MQM and they got 19.One seat less than my prediction but this is more seats they got as compare to election of 2002.Visit karachi if you get time and compare what it was in 2005 and what it is in 2008.I am sure your vote will go to MQM.

Building infrastructure should be the issues in Local bodies elections and building nation should be the issue in national elections. Issue related to the national elections are:
    Foreign policy
    Economy
    Social justice
    etc. etc.
The parties are taking about the same sue in every type election

There is another feature of such elections if our weak politicans have any pint of nationalism in their depth of heart, this could be a better chance to get rid of slavery of army mafia and US.The mile stone has already been laid by our CJP Iftikhar and lawyers are carrying out this mission so now time for weak politicans to gather their strength and try to become nation and show the world that we also want to survive as a proud Pakistanis not like shit Pakis.

MQM is doing their best and people are happy with them and that is why they voted for MQM.

Surely “MQM is doing their best and people are happy with them and that is why they voted for MQM.” For example even the Chiefl Justice of Pakistan cannot go to their country name “Karachi”. Everybody virtually needs a visa from them to enter Karachi like poor Imran was denied entry. That is why they are winning… They don’t want any choice befor the people of Karachi except them. I am from Karachi and I know what they have done. But dear the very fact that the steps in Nation building are hardly expected from them after 12 May.

    @ safdara
12th may 2007 was not a good day for MQM.In my view they did some wrong calculations. This was a trap for them, but they politically survived.
CJ knew, before he came to karachi, what type of problems his visit will creat for Sindh Govt.
He refused to take Helicopter and wanted by road to reach his destination.Do you not think he had this chance to avoid all problems?
If he is also not somehow responsible for 12th May 2007?
I saw both type of videos in one where the peoples have MQM-Flags in their hands and Firing…and in other where people have PPP and ANP and JI Flags and they were also firing.
My question is why some people blame only one party??? Why??

That was my point that everybody needs a visa from MQM to visit karach even CJP…

well he is a citizen of pakistan and if he choose to go by road then its government responsibilty to provode security and to maintain law and order just like when they do for musharaf if he goes somewhere. there was attack on him as well then why he roam about everywhere in rwp and islamabad by road, why cant he go on helicopter
well u might have seen few people with pp and anp flags but i didnt but on the other hand i saw the same people who were firing infront of aaj tv,siting very excitedly in Mr ALTAF telephonic conversation straghtafter, how would they explain that?

Guys an interesting development. Nawaz Sharif has just announced in a press conference that “all the burjs have fallen” and the remaining lot consists of ordinary muslim leaguers who are welcome to rejoin their parent party. This a general amnesty. Lets see how soon the Q league crumbles forever.

Secondly, I may add that Malik Emad (Mianwali), Mudassar Nahra (Gujranwala), Saima Bharwana (Jhang) and Tariq Anees (Narowal) won with PML-N support as the ticket holders were withdrawn in their favour or did not canvass. Then Manzoor Wattoo is not going to join Q and so aren’t the winners in Bhakkar. The tally of N League is going to increase. The magic figure of 180 is possible.

As far as mqm is concerned i wonder what makes you think that they are doing a good job. For 12 may, how can you cover anything which is almost crystal clear. You are indeed right that “Tali Doono Haath Say Bajti Hay…..” but the TALI from CJP was that he tried to be honest and he was doing his duty.

Saying “Tali Doono Haath Say Bajti Hay…..” is a way to escape from bitter realities of life.
12 may was not a small incident. It was one of the darkest days in the history of Pakistan, not only that we lost 50-60 costly lives but also that Chief Jutice of the sountry(alongwith other respected lawyers) were forcefully stopped to move in their own country?
Though there are number of questions which are still un-answered but core question is that why, after all, MQM wanted to stop CJ to enter Karachi? What was the agneda behind this? Why they anounced their procession at the same date/time after CJ arival date was announced? If they would not have created the situation, CJ and others would have entered the city and gone to the bar… so what worse woud have happened than what happened on 12 may? (specially when we had example of a successful & peaceful CJ procession from ISL to Lahore).
I am sure history will reveal the truth.

    - btw, I think majority of Urdu speaking people in pakistan are not mqm supporters.

In most of the hyderabad city areas, no polling agents of PPP and other parties except MQM were allowed to sit/enter in the polling booths.

In latifabad/hyderabad, ballot papers were already stamped on kite, before they were being handed over to the voters.

In Qasimabad, one DSP and two SHOs are beaten by the local people as they abducted the polling staff and forcing them to stamp on kite.

There was no ARMY in hyderabad, so MQM has full chance to rigg the elections and they are fully taking advantage of it.

@Saqib: totally agree. MQM has demolished the real interests of the Muhajir community. They have made everyone look like a bunch of terrorists even though I think a good 3rd of the “silent majority” is silent by choice because they implicitly support the MQM excesses.

The sad thing is that in 256 etc they don’t need to do this, but they do it just to show their GhuNDaa gardi.

Another more worrying development (for the Fascist Leadership) is that they are losing the support of the ordinary Muhajir’s and I think 12th of May was the turning point. This is why they are over-compensating this time in the their “controlled” areas by stuffing ballot boxes.

This shows weakness not strength on the “Muhajir” Qaumi Movement part, and the edifice might be hollowing out from inside and holding up based on young armed militants without proper ideological framework. You can imagine the reaction of such force in the event of a state operation.

The fact that they need to stuff ballots boxes is indication that Most of their supposed “supporters” stayed home . The fascists bhatta collecting structure must be worried right now.

I believe MQM got these 17 seats also by rigging – how – I would tell you. After 12 May they did not allow anyone to conduct political activities in Karachi fully supported by Musharraf. On 18 October when BB came to Karachi they were part of the conspiracy of bombing her truck and she survived.

They know each of their voter and they intimitaded them. NS didnt had time to campaign in Sindh and to organize the candidates there so therefore PML N could not figure in there – but just let these five years pass and if PMLN and PPP make a coalition and go in election next time then MQM would be totally wiped out.

PPP and PMLN should make a coalition and Zardari should realise that he has got less seats then he should have and the reason was obvious – he did not want to confront Musharraf like Nawaz Sharif did. I remember in an email to me by Aftab Iqbal he had accused Nawaz Sharif that he did not had balls (sorry for the language) and he ran away from the country – I think he did the right thing at that time because the way Shujaat and company got with Musharraf they would have definitely got him killed.

So I would like to ask from this pseudo writer Aftab Iqbal – what does he think of Nawaz Sharif now – do you stil rate him below Musharraf. Shame on you Aftab Iqbal.

I would like to congratulate admin and all the writers on this site for running a very successful campaign which started in August and Alhmadulliah we are near our destiny of free judiciary, free media and our own parlaiment which would not be bullied by Musharraf anymore.

Well, its not true for ANP atleast, they keep changing their president based on regular internal voting, Ajmal Khattak was president for 9 years, Ehsan Wayne from Punjab was president for one year. Now its difficult to beat Asfandyar as he really is a good leader (those who know him closely).

well boyocott from JI etc. benifited MQM but the most trouble was created in karachi and if you look at Farooq Sattar seat, PPP Guy got good votes MQM used all their tactics including violence, kidnapping and torture to win that seat

and if you look at Altaf Kalia that immediately when he realized that Qatil League and other pro Mush alliances are going to be kicked out by People , he offered that we are ready to talk with N league as well. Its real test for NS and as i mentioned in my previous posts as well that NS should clearly give his policy statement about Muthaida Qatil Movement. It was NS who in London in APC declared that there will not be any alliance with MQM in future.. so he will loss credibility if he talks with Qatils once again… MQM is a facist party and it NS should prefer to saty out of Govt rather than any sort of negotiation with altaf kalia…people in Urban areas of Punjab and in Hazara, Manshera ,abottabad has voted for NS and NS should not go against wishes of people of these areas

and to MQM supportes….now with your 15-16 seats save your sector commander MUSH….its better that MQM officially should give job to MUSH as incharge of Killer cell due to his previous experience of bloodsher, retired commando and ethnically urdu speaking..so his qualities make him perfect to serve MQM in future as head of Murder, torture cell of MQM Mafia

By and large..it is defeat for MUSH and pro MUSH…..and people in interior sindh, Urban and Rular Punjab and in NWFP has gave their decision against MUSH…..

15-16 seats of MQM cannot save MUSH ..its a fact

How come these events are not reported in the media, MQM guys have won by the big margins so reporting the incidents in isloation is of no use. As well said by the Cheif Election Commissioner ” That the incidents reported are very minor and which elections in Pakistan history were free from these small events”

I think MQM guys tried best to save their voters valuable time by stamping the ballotpapers in advance. LOL

I hope NS can restore the judiciary, but I have my reservations about NS intentions/will power. What I am afraid of is yet another turn around by him. This time regarding reinstatement of pre november judiciary. My fears are that PPPP is also NOT interested in free and independant judiciary and NS will use this as an excuse to abandon the lawyers community and the brave judges who stood up against very heavy odds.

Let’s wait and see what happens.

Personally I don’t believe the problem is Altaf. The problem is the following of terrorist of Altaf. Altaf is just a man who openly says ‘punjabi jahil daggas’ .. however all he is saying is what has been repeated in his followers households every day.

It is the prejudice, elitism and hate of his followers which fuels and feeds Altaf ..

@unsupak: right on! (exactly the same parallels can be made regarding the perpetuation of racist thinking in white households — ie; how the white kids born in the 90’s seem to have magically learned all the basics of discrimination as their parents were claiming they were not racist and had changed their racist ways from the 60’s)

“Prejudice, elitism and hate” (for common pakistani’s) pretty much sums it up! I wish Muhajir’s would come out of this phase soon and overthrow the GHuNDa’s

The dignity and respect to Muhajirs has never been shown in the entire history of Pakistan. So like kalloo pir says:

Read Altaf’s speaches. He echoes the racist sentiments of his constituents. Maybe you believe in what he says. The Muhajir households and historians have a very strong and biased view of Pakistan and its creation and people of this land and what they say is unfair treatment metted out to them. Always conspiracy theorists like Altaf. Part of it has to do with a Lakhnao elitist culture which believes itself to be the most superior culture (not of pakistan but of the entire World) and has permeated into the entire MQM psyche.

I don’t know why some people have problem with votes for MQM .

Just to give u an example in Hyderabad , there is a constituency where PPPP man won securing something like 120k votes where as PML Q loser has got something like 80K votes.

Now , whats wrong if Kharachities have voted for MQM.

We are more than happy to accept rest of Pakistan results but problem with Karachi . Isn’t strange ?

We should also look at the fact that events which occurerd after BB death that have caused the panic in Urdu Speaking community . Thats probably a big reason for higher turnover.

Frankly speaking i was not accepting such big turnout anywhere in the country. I have been observing elections since 1988 but such high turnover is unprecedented.

@askhan75: I think the point some are trying to make is that in a constituency of 260k, where the supposed turnout all day long wasn’t more than 30%, the MQM candidate seems to have secured 186k votes

that is just odd… The thing is MQM could have won easily without the shenanigans, but they had to do it to deceive ppl into thinking their constituency is not shrinking (that is just my theory). I’m talking about NA-246, Karachi-VIII now.

the guy won by 180,000 votes! There are 203 polling stations for that HalQah,
    Avg voters per PS: 1290
    Avg Voted for MQM: 916
so this is an incredible! average voting rate of 71% PER POLLING STATION!

    Just incredible!

No one has a problem with MQM winning. MQM will definitely win from certain seats, especially where its constituents echo the racist prejudice of its terrorist in chief.

However like many seats taken by PML-Q in Balochistan and some in Punjab, there have been some seats which have been illegally occupied by MQM by use of state resources, intimidation and plain illegal ballot stuffing.

These few additional seats would be enough for MQM to cause havoc and instability in Pakistan.

According to your theory win of MQM will bring instability in Pakistan.
    What a thory….
When pakistan divided in two parts in 1971 there was no MQM.

When Zulfiqar Bhuttu hanged there was no MQM.

When Liaqat has been killed there was no MQM.

in 1993 even during Army operation MQM won huge seats in Prov. Assembly ( Do u think those army helped them to get votes ).MQM was not in National Assembly they did not take part for NA seats.

Do not be jelous because of MQM win.
Come and make a party like MQM in your area and try to win a single seat against Gagirdar. You can never do this…you know why? because for this you need to sacrify alot of things….MQM lost thousands of his workers including Altaf Hussin,s brother ( 66 years old )and his nephew ( He just had finished his Degree) They had nothing to do with Politics.
Just read old newspaper and you will know…
My challenge to all of you who do not like MQM as winner….
Make a party like MQM and win a single seat in your area where you belongs to…..
MQM want to change this Gagirdari system and MQM want to give all rights to all people and not only for big persons….
Start from your own local area and do not think about karachi,s win and lost candidate…problems…
KARACHI DECIDED FOR MQM…IF SOME OF YOU LIKE OR NOT BUT YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT MQM IS DEMAND OF KARACHI.
If someone want to sell other things people will not buy…..
Mark of MQM with signature of ALTAF HUSSAIN is only reliable for the people of karachi.
Who is going to accept my challenge???

Yeah there was also no MQM when the Titanic sank or when FDR was assasinated… bullcrap. If you want to go with history then we can also talk about the upsurping of rights by certain privileged people which included more than just your Jagirdars. MQM is the biggest mafia tribal system in Pakistan. MQM is exactly what it says it is against.

MQM has murdered 10s of thousands of innocent people in Karachi or various communities and looted billions in bhatta. Right after 2000 MQM-Musharraf target killed over 35 police officers in Karachi.

MQM like the PML-Q (in Punjab, Sindh tharparkar and balochistan) has used illegal state resources to gain the additional seats (outside of their racist tribal constituencies).

The time is now to bring these terrorists and their tribal chiefs (altaf terrorists and mush terrorist) to the book.

MQM has won from certain seats, from where they will always win. However like MQM
