what happened if the name of our province remains SARHAD. We want peace , development in our province not to change the name.All over the world knows about sahad that they are pukhtoons.What we will imagined from ANP from the starting point that ANP changed name first instead of this if they do………… ?

ANP orginally came into being as a Nationalist movement even before the Partition. All my family, starting from my grandfather right to my brothers have been enthusiastic workers of ANP so I guess I know a bit of inside information. There was no real purpose of this movement coming into being, it was just a mischief/conspiracy/policy, whatever you call it, of Congress to have a strong support in NWFP. Asfandyar Wali’s grandfather, Abdul Ghaffar Khan, commonly known as Bacha Khan was as close an aide of Gandhi that he got himself called ’sarhadi gandhi’. The truth behind the scene was that ANP was more interested in pakhtoon nationalism than the creation of Pakistan and according to my grandfather, Congress was funding it. My grandfather himself visited Bombay alongwith Wali Khan once where he was handed over a large sum of money by Gandhi and about which Wali Khan strictly forbidden his comrades to talk. Just before the Parition, Bacha Khan announced that NWFP should first become a part of where it belongs i.e. Afghanistan, or be left as a separate country. There was no place for a third option meaning joining Pakistan. Thanks to the Khudai Khidmatgaar movement of intellectuals at that time, none of his dreams could become true. He was so ‘disgusted’ by NWFP becoming Part of Pakistan that before he died, he mentioned in his will that he doesn’t want to be buried in Pakistan because he doesn’t belong here and so was taken to Kabul to be buried. After Pakistan came into being, ANP has been using the same crooked false agenda of ’snatching right for pakhtoon from Punjabi usurpers’. The funniest such ‘joke’ that I heard was Wali Khan saying that ‘Cow is ours and milk is being drunk by Punjabis’ the cow here meant Tarbela Dam. They have been using such funny tactics just for one purpose, to stay in the government and fill in their bank account. Asfandyar Wali’s brother in Law and one of their main leaders, Azam Khan Hoti used to live in a small shaby house before he became communication minister when they joined the PML(N) government in 1997 and just within two years, the number of his bangalows in the posh areas of Mardan is now more than that of Nawabs of Mardan. His son and close workers freely ruled Mardan just like their kingdom. All their party members consist of people who are the same as rich choudhrys in poor villages of Punjab. They made a huge issue out of pakhtoonkhwa nonsense when they were in government and then even resigned when Nawaz Sharif refused to rename the province, I wish they had put so much pressure on the then PM for building hospitals, factories, schools and universities.
Having said all that, I am happy they are back in the government not because I believe they are any less corrupt and selfish from other parties but because they are better than crazy mullahs who have turned our lives into hell both inside and outside Pakistan. Lets see what future has got for us.

Why ANP again gave its ticket in 2008 to those persons who had earlier disobeyed the party discipline and sold their votes during senate elections?

I would like to add ..
In the current scenario Still I feel honestly, that PML-N, IJ has so far proved their positive philosophy. But overall Imran khan can be considered as an asset for nation and it will be our badluck if nation will not be able to get benefit of his vision and leadership capabilities.

Thanks for your point-wise reply.

Though I feel ANP people are sincere to their agenda and atleast not having dubious character, but as you mentioned in point 2, their secular approach can not be appreciated by me at all.

It is like eventhough I used to admit (but only during starting few yrs of Mush regime) that Mush can be considered as quiet outspoken etcetc person BUT to be outspoken (even such as ZAB) can not be the criteria for a leader. One can find much more outspoken and brilliant guys in US, europe, israel, india etc. More imp is your philosophy.

Anyways let hope the main issues can be sorted out in near future … such as judiciary, democracy, unemployement, education, professional army, effective intelligence ……..

1) I am not a supporter of ANP but the thing which strikes me the most is their philosphy for you first question, their main ideology is “non voilence or Adam Tashadud” and democracy for all

2) the difference of opinion is that they are more of seculer in approach and believe in independence of religious and ethinic beliefs

3) their three main agenda issues are
a) War on terror— they want to sttle this by talks and not by war
b) provincial autonomy
c) Province name to be changed to Pakhtoon khwa
4) They never had their own government in anp although they have been part of many governments including with ppp and ANp. their repute was of being cooperative but no compromise on their own issues, that is why they split up with pmln government in 1997-98 and chose to sit in opposition later on

On ANPs websites the book “Facts are Facts” by Khan Abdul Wali Khan has been posted. Before the elections the book that was there was named “Facts are sacred”.

1- What are the views of the current leadership on the book ?

2- Why the change in name of the book ?

Personally I love pakhtoons, sindhis, punjabis, balochies, urdu speaking etc. Infact good and bad people can be anywhere.

1) Can anybody tell what is the main philosophy/ideology of ANP (wali khan etc)?

2) What are the main difference of opinion of ANP and religious parties (JUI etc)?

3) What will be the three top priorities for ANP after making govt in NWFP.?

4) Did ANP remained part of NWFP govt in past? If so how was their repute / performance.?

I would like to ask ANP about their Pak Afghan Policy.
From a little that I know about the history of ANP, Khan Abdul Wali Khan was against Pakistan’s involvement in Afghanistan. This was in strict contrast to the popular opinion and efforts of the establishment who together with JUI and other religious parties, promoted pakistani madrassa’s taliban to capture afghanistan which was in tatters after Soviet war at that time.
That policy of Establishment Especially ISI and religious parties, backfired and now Pakistan is not able to handle it in its own territory.
Considering the fact that establishment is still v deep-rooted in alliance with th religious parties, How are they seeing that in face of their Afghan Policy and War on terror.
