Based on the recent report from Rauf Klasra in The News, Zardari is now dreaming of becomg the PM. It will be interesting to see that if the judiciary is reinstated and it indeed nullifies the NRO, what will become of the dreams.

According to Abbas Athar of Daily Express, Makhdoom Amin Fahim had a secret meeting with Musharraf after two days of BB’s murder. That meeting was not disclosed to PPP leadership and this has made him an unlikely candidate for premiership. He is considered Establishment’s person now.

I think there will be an unspoken quid pro quo with the judiciary. Also, the judges thus restored will have to excuse themselves from the process and hopefully Zardari will be willing to take that risk. otherwise the sky will fall on schedule. :)

I think NS and AZ have reached some understanding about the reinstatement with a hidden clause that AZ cases will not be touched.

I think that no one could do anything on the basis of those cases. Saif ur Rehman accepted that he made false cases after he was arrested by Mush. Saif did a deal with Mush and ran out of Pakistan. True or false, these cases are more than 12 years old and are unproven.

NS and AZ have both accepted that they made mistakes and these cases were on political basis. We should accept their apologies. Their action during last 8 years are a good record and they have sacrificed too.

We should focus on punishing Generals who have committed the biggest crimes. Restoring judiciary is in favour of everyone. Free judges will decide who is right and who is wrong.

if i have to choose just on this interview then I will go for Amin fahim, he looks very nice to me

I personally don’t mind if we give AZ a safe passage, BUT we should be very careful that it doesn’t become a “blank check” for AZ or anybody else. The politicians should not open an escape route for people who have committed grave blunders/mistakes as for ex. murderers from PML-Q and MQM. The judiciary should be kept out of any such agreement i.e. the judiciary shall not be a part of the agreement by sitting at the table and finding a “solution”!!!!!!!

It is expected that Raja Parvez Ashraf or Khursheed Shah will be the prime minister for now and Asif Zardari will assume the post after winning the bye elections.

On the other hand, after the signing of Murree declaration, musharraf is being advised to dismiss the assembly under 58-2-b, promulgate emergency and rule under emergency powers.

Makhdoom Amin Fahim should be PM.

First Mush lovers were worried that AA is fighting elections and ‘our hero’ should not do that. When he didn’t fight elections, they started worrying about NS. These people were losing weight because NS was going to forget judiciary.

Now these people try to pretend that they are neutral and their next love is Makhdoom Amin Fahim. If they are not PPP voter, they should leave it to PPP to decide. OR these people should make it clear that ‘I love Mush/MQM but I support Makhdoom Amin Fahim’.

If these people knew that how much Amin Fahim hates MQM, they would support anyone except him (Makhdoom even met some generals after May 12 to persuade them for military action against MQM).

It’s a bit late in the game for MAF to talk about “referendum” in the nation OR in the party for his candidature. Where the hell was his democratic spirit when he sat there quietly in GaRhi Khudaa BaKhSh as they were announcing Bilawal Zardari as the hereditary chief of the party?

He should have made some noise, but didn’t because he was being offered the premiereship.. now he speaks of democracy within the ranks?

I don’t really like the undemocratic nature of any of our parties (and MQM fans, before you start jumping with joy, please note that your party has pretty much turned into a cult of personality – so.. just … you know… keep that in mind)

Times like these you really wish there was a party convention where all these candidates would run and the party delegates from each district would pick the next party head. Kinda like what happens in the rest of the civilized world. Until then we’ll keep seeing BS like this where people make personal decisions and people in favor stay quient and those against start new one-man parties.

    @ Taba’n Khamosh

MAF might be a gentle man, but he does not have leadership qualitites (I don’t like Ahmad Mukhtar either). I have never heard even a SINGLE sentence coming from MAF than can be cited as something worth mentioning. Whereas PML N has Khawaja Asif and Ahsan Iqbal who talk sense and roar like tigers.

I would rather see Shah Mehmood Qureshi or Yousaf Raza Gilani as PM THAN such a ‘cold’, old and expressionless (and Yateem) person.

It would hurt PPP if they delay the decision further and I think MAF deserve to become PM as he remain with PPP even in worse situation and basically is an honest person. I think he will quite politics if AZ ignores him.

I have to agree more or less with Taban Khamosh. I don’t like Ahmed Mukhtar–something very unsettling about him. But there is nothing that qualifies MAF for the post either. Loyalty to BB and seniority alone cannot cut it for the post of PM.

Plus, anyone who has three wives and has his sisters married off to the Koran so he does not have to share his inheritance with them is a no-no for PM as far as I am concerned. I think is ko apni bivion aur bahnoon ki bad-dua lagi hai!

So, of course Aitzaz Ahsan would have been the best choice–but perhaps too good to be true–given that–I’m ok with either yousaf gillani or shah mahmood qureshi or another sindhi but not MAF!

Mukhtar Ahmad does not have the personality to be PM.

Selecting a PM is a tough decision to be made by Asif Zardari and PPP. Observing their recent past stands and decisions I am optimistic they will come out with a best possible solution.
