She’s a good anchor. Her questions were very potent and pointed. I agree with her that the release of Kashmir Singh should not be criticized. Using it for political agenda and turning it into an evil act is a shameful move by our parties. Any objections regarding the release of judiciary they have should be raised as separate points independent of this particular act.

I don’t agree. The release of Kashmir was a media stunt to divert attention away from the real issues. Kashmir Singh has admitted (after arriving in India) that he WAS a spy. On what ground did Mush release him?

why shouldnt we criticise kashmir singh’s release? he was a convicted spy, he should have been HANGED to death. he has admitted to being a spy and carrying out many operations against Pakistan, and he hasnt become Muslim either. he went to a gurdwara after being released, mush govt lied that he had become a Muslim so people wouldnt react. and India has given a response to Pakistanis in the form of a slap on the face by reciprocating by sending the body of a dead tortured innocent Pakistani back to us, which ansar barni couldnt even go to recieve.

This story has also been put forward by MQM I heard they were spreading rumours that many ppp leaders marry their sisters to Q.S. because they don’t want to split the inheritance too much. Altaf re-hinted at this very recently in a ‘khitaab’ to his cool-aid drinkers.
It is ironic that MQM to pursue their deceptive aims is forced to support a mega wadera of Sindh! I’m amazed that their supporters don’t see these differences and misrepresentations in their words and actions. Or maybe all MQM supporters are just cynical opportunists who know that they leadership is lying despite claims to being an “idealist, educated, urban” movement (no less).
I think Faeza conducted the interview rather well. She pushed the guy in the corner and he was on the back boot and on the defensive most of the time. I think the women anchors of the Pakistani’s media actually do a pretty good job but they are unduly criticized by some members of this forum. (A certain “incident” not withstanding)
I wasn’t aware there was a controversy about whether he was a spy or not. I don’t doubt that he was. But he spent 35 YRS in jail. Sure, if he had been hanged back then, I wouldn’t have had any objections. But he wasn’t. He was sentenced to death, and then not hanged for 35 yrs. That’s even before I was born. He suffered a form of protracted mental torture that probably no one should go through. I would argue that whatever crimes he committed, he has paid the price. I don’t know if it was a media stunt or not, but I have no qualms about the fact that he served his penance, and it was about time he was released.
Look at it from another point of view. What if he was a Pakistani spy caught by the Indians. A spy is a spy purely because of patriotic reasons. They have no personal agendas. Suffering such a fate for being a patriot? Especially since he’d already had more than his share of punishment.
@khan.soomro: I applaud your humanitarian instincts but since a ‘spy is a spy’ and we have our spies rotting in indian jails, wouldn’t it be better if we at least got one of our own in return?

we will see when zardari goes against the people’s wishes, then how he will survive. benazir also came through a deal but she turned back on it, thats why she was killed. now zardari is not stupid enough to follow the same script that benazir had already abandoned. mush is too weak to go around killing any more politicians now. all he can do is beg zardari to stick to the deal, that is why zardari in the start of the campaign expressed fears that he was going to be killed. it was a warning to mush that he will not follow orders from him. he has already committed to restoration of judges, he cannot turn back on that now. mush is a dead man and his lovers like you should realize that now.

Mr10% had done his homework, starting from the planned killing of BB to fake will, become chairman thru will, sidelining AminFahim, being diplomatic to every party including Musharraf. Calling for restoration of judges and at the same time saying that current judges cant be removed.
Pakistan already have more judges in high courts and supreme courts than we have in US. How come the new judges will be allocated without removing the current ones? Both kind of judges cant stay in the courts together, either one has to be removed, as the new judges were hired permanently. So by saying that the new judges cant be removed, Zardari is essentially meant that the old judges cant be restored
Zardari is cementing his footing and killing time by giving these diplomatic statements, once he become the PM, he will be a changed man. Do some research man and bring arguments to support your lover aka Mr.10%

I do not agree with the notion that since our spies are rotting in Indian jails, we should treat their people as such. What difference would there be between us and them if so? And like I said, I firmly believe he had more than served his sentence for whatever crimes he committed. Make no mistake, I do not think we should let them go as soon as they’re caught. But 35 years is more than enough jail time for any crime.
