It is too early to answer this question with certainty just yet as there is very important turn of events yet to come. If the judiciary is restored, institutions are strengthened, 52(b) revoked, measures of accountability are introduced for the generals and are implemented and this Parliament completes its term, we will then be able to answer this question satisfactorily. Because as it stands to day, Gn Kiyaani has not condemned Musharraf’s coup and his Dictatorship openly, he has just withdrawn support; this could may well be a tactical retreat as the army was suffering a severe public backlash over its role in politics. The army should have learned from the fall of Dhakah. Wasn’t that a learning experience? But the army did not learn from that at all so why should the army learn this time? These Generals have enjoyed their might for too long. Whether the army has left for good or not this joint Government should carry out a massive clean up operation in the army and police. It should introduce new training and procedures and rebuild the complete infrastructure of the army’s educational system so that the children of these officers can be groomed properly.

Finally Musharraf and all his commanding officers that helped him abduct Pakistan should be hanged publicly so that no general ever dares to do that again. All Q league should be scrutinized to the bone for corruption and misconduct. All dual national Pakistanis should only be allowed to serve Pakistan in high posts after they have surrendered their foreign nationality so that no one can import short cut Aziz ever again.

Please click “POLLS” tab on top of the page heading tool bar and search for Poll 79.
Polls were seeking public opinion, if Pakistan Army has finally decided to stay away from politics as long as their budget allocation is kept as lavish and unaccounted for as ever.

Army will come back again if the judiciary not restored in coming few days. PPP is on the wrong track as compare to PML(N). But people of Pakistan like democratic forces in power….. but who cares espesially army establishment. They always stepin power when ever they wants if you see the past 60 years political history of Pakistan.
