   i know that geo anchorpersons read this blog. i would like to convey my protest at the shameful attitude of Geo TV with regards to freedom of expression. i have been noting the channel’s bias towards MQM lately, but today i have had enough. as soon as ch. nisar ali khan started speaking against the dictator, Geo muted it and then went over to the studios. this is very shameful on your part, and dont think the people dont realise it. next time someone closes down your channel, remember that no one will come out on the streets for you again. people must already be regretting coming out in the first place. and i dont know what happened to Hamid Mir, he has suddenly transformed from a Mush-hating patriotic pakistani into an MQM-lover. shame on the whole Geo team. good thing Dr Shahid Masood left this pathetic mouthpiece of the MQM.

   now look that audience are so aware of the situation..i was watching geo tv and what they did ,when ch.nisar started speaking against mush dictator, geo stopped this coverage and i was the fisrt to post my observation on pkpolitics.com…

   i am so happy that many other people also noticed bias behaviour of geo tv…..better to call mqm tv

   i hope our admin will also give them clear message that we are fed up with this behaviour of geo tv……

   If Shahid Masood would have been around, he would be even bigger mouthpiece than Hamid Mir, just wait till he come back.

   Jang group has history of pro Govt reporting, they just took advantage of last couple of months to go along with the sentiments of people and become big media giants in Pakistan. Now their business is back to normal and they have become the MQM and pro Musharaf whore and yes they will also ride on PPP as well.

   We need a CSPAN like channel for our parliament so that No channel, govt or private can play with the feelings of Pakistani’s like GEO has done.

   This is a Shameless attempt at self censorship.. 2 days aftery they were crying about censorship by the security ppl in the Parliament.

   SHAME!

   GEO must remember that there are NO sacred cows! If you start siding with the undemocratic forces, You WILL be dealt with accordingly…

   You people are justly showing your anger after a long and uninterrupted MQM campaign on GEO TV. MQM is getting a weird coverage on this channel, which consider itself a champion of “great” slogans as “Geo X” and “Geo Y” etc. It has now been proven over a longer period of time that it is mere slogans. There is no substance in this “nare baazi”.

   Enough is enough.

   If GEO wants to be considered as a true mouthpiece of the Pakistani nation then it must start showing some maturity.

   I am also sick of hearing all these meaningless “breaking news”. GEO TV you need to grow up.

   This is what you need to get out the mess you have created yourself_

   1. Stop propaganda about MQM
   2. Stop ridiculing important issues as making fun programs about lawyers movement.
   2. Ensure free and fair reporting.
   3. Ensure airtime for leaders from smaller provinces.
   4. Ensure that minorities are heard
   5. Stop unnecessary “breaking news”
   6. Stop over promotion of Indian culture

   I have already cancel GEO and subscribe the AAJ package. I am sick of Geo MQM TV network.

   Lot of my family and friends are also doing the same in US.

    I have always noticed not only Geo’s but also Jang’s biased attitude. Jang Group suck and suck big time!!!

    I have written to GEO TV several times. They never give any feedback and I have not seen any change either. I have come to the conclusion that they need to be exposed on different media like pkpolitics.com.
    Maybe that will help.

    absolutely fantastic! what a day for pakistan. by the way it was not the d.c who made the announcement it was the p.m. the d.c is a mere minion and he is the same one who gave a free hand to the police to lathi charge school kids, who were protesting against the detention of the now released judges. he is a man of the establishment and i can never forgive him for not pulling up the people under him for hitting kids. also he has always been in favour of the mush govt .

    rejoice Pakistan and get rid of opportunists! what a happy day!

    Not only GEO is openly showing its bias towards MQM and Musharraf with people like Kamran Khan.

    Lately they have been showing half naked Indian actresses in head line news.

    GEO is reallly going down the drain.

    I am waiting for AAJ tv to be beamed in North America.

    But I think Hamid Mir is still very neutral. He has good reputation for standing up to adversity.

    It is not the first time. This is exactly how the JANG group (owner of GEOS) have become big. They have always kept good relationships with every 1 and are willing to go an extra mile if u send them a “LAFAFA”. Jut do a research for yourself and u will see a big difference between how JANG and NAWAIWAQAT did their business over the years.

    Nawaiwaqat has always done the right/sober/conservative/balanced journalism and have not cared for one night stands with corrupt politicians and generals.

    These days it is not uncommon to see “ALTAF BAHI” being said by GEO every hour in every program. I ask GEO, not to go way in past but just to look at May 12th and every true Pakistani will feel ashame of being Pakistani. Have we forgot the killers of innocent HAKIM SAEED SHAEED”….. is our blood this green now………???

    On the flip side, I am just waiting to see what PMLN’s stand will be regarding PPP/MQM’s ride out on the weekend. Because MQM and PPP both are also ANTI each other and u can see this from Qaim Ali Shah’s statemants.

    PMLN realized about MQM’s ugly face right after Hakim Saeed’s shaadat and recently Ch. Nisar Ali Khan himself mentioned the whole episode as how ugly face MQM has in an interview with I think Kashif Abbassi which is present on pkpolitics.

    It was Nawaz and PMLN who insisted to make a part of APDM resolution that “no party will ever work with MQM”…..

    After the 99 fiasco and NS leaving PK, this is the first time that a lot of well educated people have started looking towards PMLN cz of its judiciary’s stand. BUT if PMLN tries to sell excuses to its people in regard to MQM than it will be a big blow to its popularity.

    And yes, I am a pro PMLN…………. BUT not at the sake of one night stand with MQM……..and pure PPP people should also think about it……

    i read Ch.Nisar Ali khan yesterday stated that if MQM will be included in center govt. and in cabienet then PML N will make its own strategy…as far as sindh in concerned PML N do not have much to stop this cooperation b/w PPPP and Mutahida Qatil Movement…….Mian nawaz sahrif yesterday stated that we have strong concerns about mqm…..so i wish that ML will not compromise on this issue and will keep a close eye on cunning zardari and Co…….and will not let them do whatever they want in “wasi tar qaumi mufaad”

    Now the main problem is if CJ is going to the supreme Court tommorow starting his normal duties then everything will be OK otherwise if he is stopped, Chief Justice Ch. Iftikhar will be suspended starting from Tommorow as there was a full bench decision againest the Emergency on the evening of Nov 03, 07 and he was unlawfully arrested and was not able to go to SC.

    Now he is free but if he don’t go to the SC tommorow its mean that we are accepting the emergency and suspension of the judges was legal.

    a great news. credit goes to lawyers movement who provoke a revolutionary process. Geo tv is the indian wannbe channel, they are the enemy withing who is trying to the destabilize pakistani culture. i agree with traffic and others that whats the point of injecting pathetic, cheesy filmi news at the end of the headlines. if they are that much desperate indian wannabe then they should leave the country. if ending could be filmi then i guess beginning could be a overview of what hindu has done to kashmiri people, their savage crimes against womens and children.

    I also noted that ch nisar was muted on geo tv, and I didn’t like that at all. Latter, geo news many times showed the speach of Dr Sattar. However, ch nisar etc were never showed on news even…

    Geo TV is the most pathetic excuse for free speech ever. they claim to be the voice of the nation, but i agree with the people here that they are the enemy within. they do not reflect the aspirations of the people, remember how they campaigned extensively for the women protection bill, which was not even an issue for pakistanis. hwoever they will never do this for missing persons case, or AQ Khan, or Lal Masjid children. all they do is promote disgusting Indian culture day and night. im sick of headlines of “King Khan” making a new film, or Katrina Kaif becoming the highest paid actress in bollywood. shame on them.

    i agree we should have a seperate channel to cover all parliament proceedings like we have BBC Parliament here in the UK. that will put an end to the monopoly of PTV and GEO, both govt propaganda machines(whichever govt it is).

    I agree with all of you and join your campain in condemning Geo. The truth is that Jang has always been the paper of the establishment.

    This paper like Shiek rasheed, realised early on in the Ayub era that if you oppose the government like Nawaye waqat does then you will see your revenues shrink becuase of pull back on government adds in the paper. Jang was the only paper that was allowed to carry on in Ayubi times. So I’m told. Im not of that era. However nawaye waqat was clamped down upon while Jang enjoyed its freedom.

    Im not biase towards Jang, because I have been following this paper for the last twelve years. I have only been reading Nawayewaqt for a couple of years. So naturally Geo has to follow the policy of it’s parent Jang. Although I don’t see what threat can Mushi be now.

    However I think Hamid Mir is not that bad

    I completely support your views in Geo and its agenda. Thank God some body has spoken out.

    Personally, I believe that most of the medie will now be subjected to sencorship. And I, for one, am glad. As this media has totally destriod Pakistani Culture.
    It aslso goes against qaraar daade maqasid and that bit of the constitution that No law shall be created against Quraan and Sunnah. Also that People of Pakistan have thier right to live by Islam.

    Invasion of this American and Indian branded culture is aimed at amending the afore mentioned part of the constitution through brainwashing the masses.

    I totally agree to all the above comments about Geo because I am also fedup with their BREAKING NEWS and most of all how they are treating the Makhdoom Amin Fahim situation. He is a senior politician and even though he didn`t helped himself by in PM nomination situation electronic media especially Geo is disrespectful by keep showing his footage and putting indian songs on them. Shame on Geo.

    Can anyone tell me about AAJ TV is it available in UK or not?

    Geo is an extremely cheap channel. It is the FOX News of Pakistan. I am sure my friends in the US know a lot about Fox News. I salute Ajj TV. Mushtaq, Nusrat, Talat and the rest of Aaj team, I salute you. Dr. Shahid Masood has actually done himself a favor if he has left Geo. Kamran Khan is a good journalist too, I hope he leaves GEO so his career does not get as tainted.

    i agree with your views about Shahid Masood, he is a great person, i think Hamid Mir should also leave Geo if he wants to maintain his popularity. however i dont think you have ever watched kamran khan. if you have i dont know what you liked about him, he is an agencies man. he and pj mir belong to agencies channel like Geo.

But If you buy more than one channel then it can be very cheap. Another thing…there is another channel DAWN NEWS available on internet. It provided free streaming. If you have 4 MB bandwidth then you can watch this channel as well.

    I found this channel very well. This channel aired Benazir Bhutto footage first time in first and other channels like Geo or aryone world got these footage from this channel.
