Musharraf was smiling when the elected ministers were taking oath and their voices were not in sync with each other. But overall it was good to see PML-N people with black bands, PPP should have done the same. really Mush was truly looking laanti.

i heard on news that oath taking started 30 minutes late because mush was not agree to give oath if pmln is wearing black band but pmln did not budged and he have to start oath well done guys if think good days are not far now .

Why the oath is taken in English and not in Urdu? In personal lives we could opt for our personal preferences, but at few occasions it is a matter of national representation.

@melansar: Maybe because Pakistan’s official language is still English? I dunno. I wonder if the Constitution is authoritative in English as well. Maybe there are some legal requirements? because the meaning of the harammzaadah’s handiwork is not translateable in Urdu? or Punjabi etc?

I am a little miffed about the oath taken in English ? If we don’t promote national language at administration level… we can’t really cry about generation moving away from roots and culture…

Also IMO Khawaja Asif should have been allocated the Defence Ministry He was the right man for the job. We need the defence budget debated and approved in parliament ( in camera and behind closed doors if it is a national security concern).

Will this book be available on this website? Not that I don’t beleive about him being Kanjar, just wondering if it is available to read? I have heard that its Preface is written by Aunty Shameem of Lal Masjid fame. I think mother of a famous personality (who happens to be a professional dancer & singer) also helped with some chapters.

With all these experienced people, I am sure that the book would be close to reality for all those who are curious about this millenniums old business.

You can actually download it if you have downloadhelper plugin in your firefox. The file you get is in .scb format and for that you need scala media center which is just more trouble than I am willing to go through.

I respect your decision but consider this. The Urdu book reading public in Pakistan is not very net savvy by and large. By putting this online at this site through rapidshare and putting a password on it, you will be enabling a lot of expat Pakistanis (students actually). Putting it online would not hurt the book’s sales very badly.

For some reason the pages stop loading half way through. I got all red pages after pg 247 in Warraich’s book. Frustrating. Also, it freezes my computer for longish periods of time. Please, at least consider the idea of rapidsharing it.

The official language of our constitution is English, and it is also the official language to be used in the administration, so the oath is always taken in English.

really? I think that I have seen Ishaq khan taking Oath from PM in Urdu.

The irony is that Mush himself has been violating every section and portion of the oath, he was administerting to the cabinet ministers. That’s sad day in the history of Pakistan. I sure admire the courage of PML-N mebers for their protest by waring black bands. This is a strong message to Mr Mush to leave. For the sake of unity, I only wish that PPP members should have done the same thing.

It’s mind bogling and very diturbing to witness an illigitimate indvidual adminstering oath to the duely elected members of the parliament and to those who were jailed by his government, in particular.

Sad day indeed.
