I read that article, and still I am finding it not “possible”. I don’t think if zardari had to ditch NS and join PML Q, he would have formed a coalition with PMLN or ANP in the first place. Or he would have called q league a Qatil league. Beside, Naveed Qamar has issued the statement that MQM is not going to be part of federal government. And neither there were any talks about this yesterday when PPP visited 90.
The message that I get from that article is — Though zardari will restore judges but understandably and principly he is not and he should not be intrested with the XYZ personality. And I believe the lawyers movement or nation is not with CJ iftikhar because he is honest or a man of principle or a big thing, but nation is supporting him because he is removed Illegally, unconstituionally by a person who represent a school of thought which think pakistan is their “baap ka maal”. And history proves that PPP has always been in fight with that school.
I am sure news such as Ahsan Iqbal saying “media is propagating disinformation” (probably cos they have to run their shows) will not become highlights because of its newsworthiless.
You and most of us are trying to read the intentions and statements. I am relying on the Muree accord (written document) and PPP’s actions so far. And that is largely giving me confidence that things will sail smoothly and according to the wishes of nation.
So dude, I would urge you to chill out for 20 odd days as you said the other day and I have already conceded with you if PPP does or act what you “fear” and suspect.
That’s the side effect of following the news too closely. I’m sure you must be knowing very well, how americans are kept under control with manipulative media.
I remain pretty optimistic until I read the columns of different people, coming up with their own theories which we somehow label them authentic.
I’m not sure others will agree with me or not but I believe, the Lal masjid episode was created by Media and they are also responsible along with the government for the loss of innocent lives.
Things will InshALLAH go for better. Whoever bows down to military and establishment this time, will actually kills himself. Don’t worry .

I agree that the judiciary issue is not about certain personalities. In my opinion this issue is important, because we need to show GHQ, the Yankees and other leaders with dictatorial tendencies that the nation have ZERO TOLERANCE towards unconstitutional actions regardless where such actions emanates from.
I have no doubt about your personal commitment towards Pakistan. I have seen enough to assume that your intentions are genuinely in favor of Pakistan BUT sadly I don’t have high expectations about PPPP, because of recent highly unwanted development i.e. AZ’s visit to nine-zero, AZ’s encounter with AA, and the Musharraf friendly statement that he is an “asset” for the nation
If PPPP deviates from the Murree Agreement then what would you suggest APDM, lawyers, judges and PML-N to do in that case?
What is your opinion about AZ’s rapprochement towards MQM terrorists?
What do you think of AZ’s visit to the breeding ground for terrorism i.e. nine-zero?
I think we are on same page regarding judiciary issue.
I am strong PPP supporter so I see things with different angle then yours.
Most of us consider PPP as ZAB, BB or AZ and often forget that PPP is also alive coz of its jiyalas. Its may be true that PMLN is all because of NS or MQM is all coz of AH and ANP is all coz of Asfandyar but thts not true for PPP. PPP has strong leaders and strong and devoted workers.
On judiciary issue, most of us are trying to read the intentions of AZ and his statements and everybody is coming up with his/her own theories. And at least people in this forum and on media are questioning the committment of PPP on judiciary issue when
1- A written document clearly stating tht the “Judiciary will be restored” is in front of us but that does not seem to be enough and until and unless judges are not actually restored, we will continue hearing speculations and raise our doubts and fears.
2- It is PPP’s lawyers who are forerunners of Lawyer’s movement. I don’t need to name those again and again.
3- It is the only party whose workers has lost their lives for the cause of Judiciary (12th May and 19 July).
I don’t understand when AZ first insisted NS to become coalition partner knowing his stance on Judiciary and Signed a document infront of nation then why he will back out from that and he or PPP is fool enough to do that???
But if PPP does what every body is fearing then AZ will be burried in Aiwan-e-Saddar by PPP herself! PMLN, lawyers and APDM won’t have to do anything!
Regarding MQM, since the elections more thn 100 people (mostly of Muhajir QM, Sunni tehrik, PPP and other parties) are gunned down by MQM. And if you see the statements of MQM right after elections, they were threatening to accept their Mendate. If they are not included in government, they will disrupt the peace of karachi/Sindh. And that will mean the further serioueness of already severe economic crisis. MQM is unfortunately also the representative of urdu speaking community. So, this issue is a hard pill for PPP but she has to deal with it.

Does this mean that MQM will be dealt with at an appropriate time or should we consider this as an reconciliation?
In my opinion there may be a sense in not opening up another front right now. Sensible and Pakistan caring politicians will be cautious about creating any new front, but MQM with it’s India friendly and terrorist activities will not think twice before starting a killing spree in Karachi (has already been started on small MQM-scale). No matter how we twist this issue the nation has (maybe unwillingly) been blackmailed:-(
Everything will be clear at the end of this month – hopefully the proceedings will show:
First: Reinstatement of the judiciary
Second: Getting rid of Musharraf and his cronies
Third: A short stabilising and “programming” period (programming for action against MQM)
Fourth: A swift well planned actions against the terrorists
Fifth: Case against Altaf Hussain
Sixth: A FAIR mass trial of all the alleged culprits.
Seventh: Rein in the armed forces……enough is enough. Every single soldier and especially the officers MUST go through an education about the constitution. An oath on respecting the constitution MUST be implemented for all officers.
If you have been to Karachi and hyderabad you will realize that majority of urdu speaking community is sick of Altaf Hussain. But still MQM explioit their ethnicity which is probably most easiest thing to do and make them feel that they are cornered by sindhis despite the fact tht they r enjoying the best available resources/facilities (Education, Employment, Health) of Sindh.
The integration is slowly but definitely taking place, since 1998 MQM has been forced to transform itself into more a political party from 100% terrorist party. And the previous idealogy of MQM is dying its own death. Now they have finally realized living in Sindh makes them sindhi too. They cannot be muhajir for 100s of years to come.
All PPP has to do is keep them in control for some time, if they are in government, they won’t have any chance to repeat their mazloomiat and complain PPP.
Abdullah Murad and Munawar Hussain Suherwardy were the closest friends of Asif Ali Zardari murdered by MQM! And PPP leaders and workers has faced the worst of MQM so it was not easy for AZ to go to 90!
i think at the moment we have no other option other than provencial autonomy
i think its tough to distinguish between self exil and forced exil

If there are enough people like you in PPP, then there is hope. I bet some thing will happen even before Punjab Assembly session.
