@dmin: I would like to suggest that perhaps you should do some deal with publishers, and allow people to download PDF.. A lot of publishers are going this way, if you can do a deal with publishers then I think more people will be inclined to buy.

I would also suggest bundles like “Pakistan History bundle” (aitezaz book, various other history books) .. “Jamhooriyat Bundle” (javed hashmi, myth of independence, bb book etc)

problem is a lot of these books are availble readonly, I think 5 - 10 euros is appropriate for pdf.. hard cover should be more. but bundles could go for 25-45 euros.

I watched Talat live last night and was very happy with what Athar Minallah said to Talat. He said something like:
“I have one complaint with you Talat: When something happens in Punjab, you blame Baitullah; when something happens in baluchistan you blame the BLA, when something happens in Wana or Waziristan, you name Al-Q or Taliban. But when something happens in Karachi, you say ‘unknown elements’ did this, when everyone knows the culprits are MQM”

Yes man I know this Siddiqul Farooq from my days in Rawalpindi. He sure is a very courageous man. He showed a lot of courage during the despotic rule of Mushi Khutta and was arrested and beaten many times by the ghundas of ISI. Oh Unknown people! What a ridiculous term for those who are responsible for blood shedding/ mess up the city. Oh my unfortunate Karachi. I was not expecting from Mr Hussain to use this pathetic idiom. He was very cautious /care full in his comments about a political party which is involved in this entire bloody situation. Why the host (who is renowned as straight forward and objective/ neutral analysist) was hesitated about this matter? Why he does not want to expose them? Perhaps 12 May incident was a good lesson for him and now he wants to behave like a Good Boy. OK everybody has right to live (and with respect).

Moreover, I suppose Mr Hussain is a follower/ supporter or fan of PPP. OK, its all right, everyone has right to support any political party or views but if you come to play your role being a journalist, analysist or anchor, you should be more objective without your personal feelings/liking or disliking. In yesterday episode, Mr Hussain was indirectly but constantly promoting/ emphasizing the PPP view point that we should not countdown the days of Judiciary restoration which was committed by two major players of the parliament. Mr Hussain said that “count down na karne se kam az kam eik pareeshani tu kam hojae gi” what is the solution of problem? Great! I was not expecting this ideal solution from Mr Hussain. With due respect I just want to say: khamosh hojane se pareeshani kam nahi hoti, hamesha barh jati hay” and as a journalist u have a better experience in this regard.

Can Mr Hussain tell us that why should not? Do we have any right to ask about their promises or not? Being a journalist you believe in speak up /raise your voice but being a supporter of any political party you believe in silence, what a contrast? It’s very true that Love is always Blind” you have right to love any political party but you don’t have right to promote their views at large through media. Decision making is public’s right, you can expose /explain all the aspects of the matter but cannot force them to make up their minds as per your wish.

Further, when Mr Athar said that media should arrange a programme on Sher Afghan case, the Host –Mr Hussain replied harshly “ hum tu kar rahey they magar aap hi log keh rahey they kay camera band kardein”. There was no need to be bitter. What do you think that only live coverage of Joota laat is media’s responsibility? I think you should invite all concerned parties representative who were involved in the matter and take their stance.

I am sorry if it is sounding harsh but I am really upset being a viewer of your show. I always appreciated your analytical skills and straight talk but yesterday you were not Talat Hussain like previous? Why?

It came out to me after watching MQM over last decade that they are not a political party but a gang of underworld. Exactly like a Daood Ibrahim runs an under-world group in india, Altaf Hussain is Paksitani version of that. Since we do not have strong political and judiciary system, so this group has able to emerge with the label of political party. Remember, these MQM and Daud Ibrahim in india has very close relations and all the guns in karachi are proivded by this indian group. I had feeling till last few years that these are disappointed people who have been misguided. I thought whenever they will get some responsibility of government like in Mush era they would get mature and understand the reality. Infact they got worse and tighten their grip on karachi as a under-world group instead of getting mature and responsible which has now proved that they are not a political party. Mr Talat has build-up an image of a straight forward and neutral anchor and analyst. That’s why people were expecting that he would be play as per past practice but his very reserved behavior created disappointment among his viewer ship/ audience and fans that love to listen him in his exceptional tone. When their expectations were not satisfied then they are expressing their dissatisfaction which is very natural. We all realized and understand the risk behind the camera /threatening environment for journalists but the point is that Mr Talat’s image and expectations with him is the reason of all debate. We are all admirer of Mr Hussain like u and pray for him and his family long and safe life but the question is that what Mr Hussain has not family before April 9, 2008?
