i just have one QUESTION FROM all my pakistani friends
our best 4 main parties and their leadership
1-ppp -asif zardi
2- ml(n) nawaz sharif
3-mqm-altaf hussain
4-ml (q) ch.chughat hussain
do we expect some thing good for pakistan from them?
i think now we need some one new i think imran khan?
WHAT U SAY
@tahir_saeed2002
You are right. Imran Khan seems to be the only one around who is clear about what he wants, but the problem are the people who still seem to vote for looters. Perhaps some day Imran Khan might have some share in power.
is the message not clear…politicians are trying to build a consensus…….consensus is an elusive term and complete consensus is never possible……they are simply dilebrating on the issue which is very clear….nov 3 was an illegal act….it is simply dilly dallying on the issue…not blame anyone…but the politicians are jointly to be blamed
besides i have just heard Fakhruddin G Ibrahim has resigned from the committee and has said that reasons of his resignation should be asked from Farooq Naik…simple if a well respected person like F G Ibrahim has left the committee we are heading for a disaster since the committee will come out with a tailer made formula bringing out a toothless judiciary….
bush administration doesnt want musharaf ( i.e. its 10Billion dollar) investment to go to waste before the next US presidential election, else republicans will loose.
Thats why mush and bush are planning to depart at the same time.
Do you really think zardari and NS ( albeit he has less blood on his hands than mr 50%, hence the persistance) have any say here?
They have all done deals with the American and the Arab puppet govs.
Guys its a fight between the “super power” government and the pakistani awam ( being led by lawyers). These pakistani players are just proxies.
reconciliation is just a positive spin on things. Its a way of saying we wont change the status quo. the pakistani awam never voted for that.
we want equality in this society and justice.
I have also observed that Aitazaz ahsan is taking a back step as well.
seems like he is retracting on his stand too..
I agree with you that all of them are corrupt and have done no good. But the fact remains that still millions of people vote for them and support them. People like IK are good for young educated urban people, but for a vast majority of Pakistanis what is more important is ethnicity/party affiliation/ biradri.
Battle lines are getting clearer with every passing day. Pro democratic forces believing in electoral politics are facing the establishment eyeball to eyeball. At the same time Musharraf PPP ko dana dal raha hay. After PPP’s rapproachment with MQM, establishment is trying hard to present PMLQ sans Chaudharies in a plate to PPP,on the promise that PPP ditches PMLN. In reward PPP would even be handed over Takht e Lahore. PPP should, in line with its past record of never collaborating with the establishment, desist this offer. PMLN-PPP-ANP alliance should continue to work together. In case judges are not restored PMLN should resign from the federal cabinet but keep supporting PPP in the centre. In return PPP should also withdraw its ministers from Punjab without destablising the provincial government. Both parties must rise or sink together if the frontier of establishment are to be pushed back.
1) Nawaz Sharif is sliping and we should not trust him on judges issue may be cos’ he is too weak.
2) PPP is getting closer to Mush and has decided to stick with Mush as president. Inside PPP there are many Mush sympathisers.
4) Our politicians are corrupt and put their kursi 1st befor anythign.
3) Americans and establishment has the final word on anythin.
Still not sure: then read this:::
ESHAWAR: NWFP Chief Minister Amir Haider Khan Hoti has said that he had floated the request to postpone the scheduled by-elections on the directives of Special Interior Advistr to PM Rehman Malik. http://www.thepost.com.pk/
Stil confused about Judges then read this:::
ISLAMABAD – The PML(N), PPP and legal experts committee on restoration of judges held a detailed meeting at Punjab House on Monday evening and remained in session till late at night discussing various legal and constitutional intricacies in the way of plausible solution to the issue. http://www.nation.com.pk/daily/may-2008/6/index4.php
I truly believed Aitizaz Ahson has been compromised by Zardari! That is why we don’t see AA on tv shows anymore.
Every single day _ I feel bad to be called Pakistani cos this country’s scende is fast becoming hopeless.
@aahmad
“I feel bad to be called Pakistani ” , you must be a proud Pakistani in 2003 ? Or am I wrong , perhaps since than “Every single day _ I feel bad to be called Pakistani ”
Geo seems to be favouring the current establishment ( Musharraf, Zardari). Nawaz doese not deserve the grilling he got. Once again Lifafa journalsts like Rauf Klaasra. Quite frankly if Ch Nisar says he didn’t know Mush was gona be there then I belive him not klasra.
Why didn’t AZ get the grilling for extra 12 days and indecisiveness?
When they have these so called analysts, why don’t they have relative party members so we can here thier view point?
When they invite these so called journalists with thier contraversial views they are following instructios of the establishment.
When Nawaz went Dubai they all said coalition must contiue and Nawaz must give a few more days, now they’re all jumping on him.
Quite frankly, Nawaz is the only hope for me, unless he proves otherwise on the 12th. I hope he doese not get involved in restoring a compramised judiciary.
However as these thick journalists were puttinh pressure on him to save coalition and swallow his pride, there is 1% chance that he might have just done that
A SUGGESTION!!!!
If you all pkpolitic members want to se a fully capable judiciary being restored and don’t want NS to compromise to a handicaped judiciarie then join me and email Ahsan Iqbal or better, text him. I will also email Hamid Mir
I’m opening a petition in the Discuss section for the no copromise on judiciary that may render it as a rubber stamp. I will email this petition some how to PMLN if possible
The politicians who were well known for their crookery and lack of any leadership skills are proving it again that what they did before- they shall do again.
Do not expect anything else.
Brother, when I compare our country in our neighborhood that depresses me even further – lately we are worst off then Bhutton. Our politicians just don’t wanna get mature enough to put country and people first!
Since 2003 it were:
Chaudhary Bros, Sher Afghan, Wasi Zafar, Malik Qayum, Arbab RAhim, MQM, Faisal Saleh Hayat, Sherpao and all the ‘wadera’ junk we could find in this land…
and
Now in 2008 who we have?
Zardari, Rehman Malik, Moulan Fazal, Farooq Naik, Nawaz Shair (Mr. Flip/Flop) and MQM again and Q leaque about to be part of Gov’t. So where is the positive change? IN 2003 we gave room to dictator and in 08′ we are in the process of giving room to dictator.
@aahmed
I deliberately added the second half of the sentence, in order to just find out why were you feeling bad as Pakistani in 2003. You know I do research and create theories . Interestingly enough your feeling bad as Pakistani in 2003 had nothing to do with dictatorship in Pakistan which proved my another “pet theory”.
BTW I hope you always remain hopless
@aahmed
Aitzaz is not on tv because he is member of the committe deliberating on judges issue. Only Farook Naik will act the spokesman.
@peja
May I butt in. I wasnt feeling bad about dictatorship in 2003. Even 2004 or 05 or midway through the 06. Actually I was happy, not so much for the dictatorship but more so for keeping the immature politicians of the 90′s at a bay. And I am not about to buy the theory that politicians are never allowed full control over government in Pakistan. If that is so, then it speaks more about the incompetency of the politicians then efficacy of the so called ‘establishment’ bogeyman, if there is indeed such a thing.
If dictatorship was all evil, then humanity would have rid itself of this evil long ago.
Let me put a question to you;
Who can cause you more damage–the bully who shoves an illegal drug down your throat, or a good meaning friend who turns you into an addict.
Who is more loathsome to your religion–a non muslim or a munafik.
Who is more dangerous—the devil, against whom you can build fotifications, or the pied piper, who makes you drop all your guards.
What I am getting to here is your opinion on who caused more lasting damage to our society, the two-faced ZAB or the universally hated Mush. For my part, I will prefer a Ayub Khan anyday on a Hasni Mubarik.
He didnt come to power through a military coup. He became the vice-president of national democratic party(NDP) in 1979 and president in 1982. He has been elected president of egypt six times, that makes him more democratic then any other in the world. But I know what you mean.
My point is, all our politicians are hidden dictators. ZAB was the worse. BB has been categorised a controlling personality. Nawaz wanted to be amir. And mush’s professed love for ataturk was decoy for his real ambition to follow in hosni’s shoes. All his actions testify to this.
Perhaps hosni wasnt a good example. Lets replace him with mugabe, or anyone who comes to power through vote and remains or strives to remain in power indefinitely by whatever means. In my book, there was not a single best democrate to come to power through vote then herr hitler himself in all of last century. Humble origins, builds a party, gives manifesto and sticks to it, repeatedly participates in elections, but you will label him a dictator. So where to draw the line.
Once again, I would prefer anyone who dictates his authority then any other wolf who comes in a sheep’s clothing.
@fas
Let me quote here the famous quotation by on other than “Dr. Pejamistri – Nobel Prize Winner of 2037″
As a software engineer, sometimes I envy God, as it is only God who can create two human beings with such a vast difference in their intellect. No human can create two intelligent machines which are poles apart in their intellect.
I know all about Hosni and his reign of terror. What I asked was, if he’s not a politician then how to categorise him.
You can start here; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politician
“A politician (from Greek “polis”) is an individual who is involved in influencing public decisionmaking through the influence of politics or a person who influences the way a society is governed through an understanding of political power and group dynamics. This includes people who hold decision-making positions in government, and people who seek those positions, whether by means of election, coup d’état, appointment, electoral fraud, conquest, right of inheritance (see also: divine right) or other means”.
Anyway, this discussion has strayed off track, and I have to leave.
Thanks for the wake up call. Perhaps a lesson on ego tripping would’ve been more beneficial.

So I am correct in guessing that ur a hindu who’s mahabharat a%$ was struct a deadly blow by creation of pakistan in 1947. Indians keep on having wetdreams abt destruction of Pakistan and re-establishment of Mahabharat…but the people can see the ur mahabharat getting further torn in to pieces..kashmir , khalistan , MAOpore , Assam-bihar (another muslim country).

What??? Make your diction intelligible please.

@fas
“—-”Hosni a politician? That’s news to me!!!!”
Then what is he. Care to explain?”
At least you should have bothered to click on the link I provided. Why do you think they call Mush “South Asia’s Hosni Mubarak”? Yes he has won “election” six or seven times because ALL other political parties are BANNED and their leadership IMPRISONED. Egypt has been ruled by the same military institution since 1952 and after him his son will be the “elected” president of Egypt. He is a Torturer-for-hire who allows no criticism of him in press or blogs.
