    Hey What is Babur Ghauri and the other MQM “dignitaries” talking about in the background?? They made a big ruckus?

    @baloch

    plz stop pandering for your website…

    thanku

    You know Ilyas Khan.. it would be better if you became part of this community and commented on things instead of soliciting visitors to your site..

    Do you have anything to say about what is happening in Pakistan? Not the thing you cut and paste but an actual, related comment? something the other pakistani’s can relate to?

    why should I waste my time on your site..? It looks like you guys took the iea for your flag from mqm and the web design is too flash (I think u were told this before).

    so, give us a break mate and stop spamming all new threads.. it’s not like people don’t know that they don’t go! .. if they can find dancing kitties on the internet, they’ll sure find your site when they’re looking.

    soory, don’t mean to be harsh.. but try to be part of the community instead of just soliciting.. makes you sound like a jehova’s witniss or khilafah turtle. ;)

    Where is Mr. “DemonCrazy” anyways? Strange he would miss this. Or has he undergone metamorphosis and become Ilyas Khan?

    Thumbs up and congratulations to PMLN leadership. After the deposed judges’ stand, I consider PMLN’s stance. Well done Nawaz Sharif, you know the nerve of the people.

    Isnt this Islamic Republic of Pakistan……………………………….. ????

    Whats up with Indian and Western culture running on Pakistani Airwaves.. This news anchor is not wearing a dopata. We have a transvestite running a show on TV, we see Indian Kanjars being given the top respect on electronic and print media, females have started to wear shalwars which are about to become “skirts” males and females are hugging in TV dramas, young generation is busy giving valentines to each other,……………………………..and the list goes on and on….

    lets burry the “two nation theory (do komi nazria) of Allama Iqbal, lets forget our grand parents who had to cross a river of blood for migration, lets take the “kalma” down from the parliaments and other buildings. Lets take Quaid-i-Azams picture down and save his soul from torture…especially after when we have made Ingra Gandhi’s soul happy…. and most importantly…. lets change it to “Vulguar Republic of Pakistan”…

    at least it will save us from the world’s insult…………who ask us “is this your Islamic culture…. is this a Islamic society…..”

    and most importantly why put a moon and star on the flag…. when we can happily leave it blank as a green and white………….. lets stop the hypocracy and be what we actually have become….. may be then we will earn respect in the world or may be not……. like Turkey….

    @Riddle

    Its good news. The more Islamic you get the more backward, barbaric and poor you will become..

    @FSM

    Could you please elaborate on your claim? Maybe you can enlighten us.

    /Saqib

    @FSM

    Have my pastafull prayers been answered? Is that thee O Great Lord of Noodles? I prayed over my Fettuccine Alfredo last night and methinks thy noodly appendages touched my heart (it could be pot though as well)

    May the meatballs forever drip with Marinara Sauce. I pray and hope everyday that pirates will rule the earth again. Forgive my occasional starchiness and help me achieve al dente.

    Your loyal Midgit…. :-)

  15. paki.revolution on May 13th, 2008 8:13 pm

    Really, FSM?

    I guess the Arab and Persian Muslims who made major contributions to physics, maths, biology, crytography, cartography and so many other sciences…the Arabs who gave the word Algebra and basic chemistry and new code breaking techniques and coffee and civilisation were just being Islamic and barbaric.

    Something is surely wrong there.

    It is quite clear that Pakistani culture has been moving much towards a Western one - why wouldn’t it, haven’t we being following ‘enlightened moderation’ all the while? And clearly it is a culture that is totally unrepresentative of the majority of Pakistani people.

    As for the video, very good decision though perhaps it might have been better for Ishaq Dar to stay put for a while to help with the preparation of the budget - the signal by the PML-N would have been just as strong.

    In a way, not having done this shows that the coalition between the two is much weaker than both leaders will admit. There seem to be big differences between NS and AZ, despite all their cute little comments for each other.

    @mb
    Hahahahaha …Your Lord’s prayer touched my heart. Though I am not one of them.The idea is not bad.

    @paki.revolution
    You must have read HT or their diciple’s version of the history? Or perhaps Nasim Hijazi.???
    Now Zakir Naik is a very popular showman.

  18. paki.revolution on May 13th, 2008 9:54 pm

    FSM,

    It’s not a very good idea to project one’s own ignorance onto others. Let me tell you of a few books that might help you in better understanding contributions by Arabs and Muslims towards the sciences.

    As you clearly think Muslim historians aren’t trustworthy and only the Occidentals are angelic enough to tell the truth, I’ll give you some references of books written by Westerners.

    1) CRYPTOGRAPHY: Al Kindi made major contributions to cryptography - advancing the field when it has been static for decades.

    Just one book is Simon Singh’s “The Code Book” which talks about Arab scientists contributions to this field.

    2) ALGEBRA: Read Carl Benjamin Boyer’s books on mathematical history. A “History of Mathematics: From Myth to Mathematics” perhaps.

    3) PHYSICS: George Sarton’s books on the history of science.

    4) MEDICINE: Fielding Garrison’s books, “History of Medicine”, perhaps.

    And of course the list can go on of many other Western historians from Brifflaut to Durant who have acknowledged the major contributions made by the Muslims to the sciences. If you haven’t ever come across them, it doesn’t mean they didn’t happen. But I guess it much easier to blame the other person with ready-made labels, “HT disciple”, “Ignorant Muslim - Read Nasim Hijazi”, “Stupid Muslim terrorist - listens to Zakir Naik” and blah blah.

    And of course, these are just a few people I’ve come across or read. The literature by Westerners acknowledging Muslim contributions is surely much larger. When they gained our knowledge, they were at least courteous enough to acknowledge our efforts.

    PPP leaders should listen and learn.

    paki.revolution

    It is partially true, there were numbers of scientists, doctors and philosophers in the era of powerful Islam. You are right Al Kindi was one of them, but many of them were not real Muslims, by any stretch of the imagination. What about Ibn Rawandi, Raazi, Avicenna. Many thinkers of Islamic world were apostates.
    The reason the Golden Age in the Islamic world became possible was because the rulers in those days were more secular than religious and they tolerated the apostasy of the great minds who in turn contributed to science.

    Islam did play an important part in human civilization. But was that a positive or a negative role? How many human lives were sacrificed at the altar of Allah? Holy Apostle exterminated the Jews of Arabia who called that land home for more than 1000 years.
    His command to kill the idolaters destroyed more human lives in 1400 years than Hitler succeeded to destroy in 13 years.
    Yes Islam had a great impact on the minds of its followers. But we paid and keep paying with our lives for that impact. The suffering and backwardness of Muslims and the present wave of terrorism are the result of that impact.

    Some Western Scholars to read
    Ignac Goldziher,Julius Wellhausen,Arberry, Patricia Crone & Cook,(Hagarism fame), Noldeke, Zwemer.

    was it a genuine glitch when Ch Nisar was about to give ragra to Moshe or is Geo practicing caution.

  25. redGreen on May 14th, 2008 2:50 am

    @paki.revolution
    i smell some sort of sorry nostalgic apologeticism. you really need to move on man.

    Somebody in a post above said something about adopting a westernized approach of sorts in our culture. I think thats welcome news as long as transitioning to the west, we avoid a dip saucing into bollywood.

    - There was a very fine column written on Ch Nisar by Javed Chaudhary :
