Dr Shahid is very well informed and good journalist BUT as an interviewr he is SOOOO ANNOYING…he seems so arrgant and interupts all the times and makes me hate him after he interviews somebody…he’s best at doing it alone…

You know who does THE BEST interviews? that slow talking guy.. what’s his face?

Sohail Warraich? … really.. he hits all the important points and the guests never feel rushed or inturrupted.. and you know.. he also does it in 30-40 minutes…

Unfortunately I find most of Mr. Masood’s work to be sub par .. and his intonation is very annoying!

I don’t know, what concern you have with Dr. S.M.

He’s doing his best, so do Hamid Mir. I Salute them, and people who are like them!

Don’t you think, now people of Pakistan know what’s going on, they can think and give their opinion, that was not possible in past. isn’t it a big achievement.

One more concern, i always hear about Dr S.M, that he’s a plagiarizer.

It’s my believe he’s not.

it was his program after which there was outcry regarding privatization of UBL, which was later cancelled. whole process was done again and it was privatized for a lot higher price. pakistan got billions more in revenue.

It was his program about Privatization of Steel mill, after which chief justice took suo moto notice and it was cancelled. it was an AMAZING program with all the facts about steel mills privatization revealing the corruption by the then government of Shaukat Aziz.

Acceptance letter was issued to the winning company within THIRTY MINUTES!! after bidding ended. while according to rules it takes Atleast 30 days (1month)

it was sold for just 362 million dollars. was dealed that government will pay for golden hand shake for 15000 employrees which will cost 15.7Billion Rs to government. CBR will wave off all taxes. there is 7billion balance in bank account, 7 billion raw material in steel mill and 12 billion other equipment was present at the time of privatization. Government also agreed to pay interest of loans by steel mill till 2013 which would cost another 700million.Rs.

@all fans of Shahid Masood: ppl ppl! I was only commenting on his annoying habit to inturrupt his guests mid-fokking-sentence ! OKAY? how does it help if you ask a great question, but inturrupt the reply because you think you have ‘better things to ask’ ??

I think he has one quality (aside from his research team that prolly does most of the research) though and that is that he ANNOYS the SH!7 out of his guests.. I just LOVED to see Zardari and Haqqani become so angry in his program that they started to act like children..

I think Shahid Masood can reduce any human being to that level of desperation by his sheer lack of interviewing skills.. Now, in some cases, like Zardari and Haqqani it’s BRILLIANT!

I loved to see haqqani not able to keep his faux shell of “propriety” and the lalloo-khet kanjar came out of him after a bit of tinkering thanks to Dr. Shahid Masood.

In any case, I still think interviewing is not about “Words blurted out per minute” FoxNews style, but the transmission of content, context and the sense of the interviewee’s point of view and the background.

This is why I like Sohail Warraich so much.. he seems “slow” and ‘paindoo’ (oh no.. not thaaat!!) in his delivery, but I have literally learned more about people through his interviews than other’s interviews.

The whole comment I made was about interviewing styles. Not some zionist conspiracy to bring down the only few anchorpersons doing good work (and yes, I consider S.M in that category as well — not that my opinion should matter much in the scheme of things) in the Pakistani media.

I’m just trying to start/maintain a tradition of healthy critique because we all have a tenency to fall into the trap of groupie-ism and start worshipping our deity du jour with a devotion only exhibited by 16 year old teenage girl fans of pre-pubescent boy bands.

@TK : most of the research is done by Dr Shahid Masood himself, you probably every time overlook the credits at the end which clearly mentions ‘Tehqeeq - o - paishkush : Dr Shahid Masood” which, in english, means “Research & production by Dr Shahid Masood”. i never saw the research head especially mentioned in credits after any other current affairs program.

I only had an issue with his sensationalizing predections about end-times.. which I think has been his claim to fame and he owes much of this fame to that set of videos (which some people have claimed that he lifted from other programs) …

I am annoyed by his videos because he mis-tags his videos on google and tags them with “Science” And “documentary”.. … maybe it’s one of his groupies who think they are doing a favor to the world by posting his vids on google video. In any case.. his ‘religious’ videos are not scientific and I don’t like “scientific validations of Islam’ simply because it is my belief that no amount of science can EVER justify God or Islam.. Either you believe it or don’t.. it cannot be proven in math equation.. and it is an insult to God to try to say.. “well current research says this.. and it is in line with what is in Quran ==> therefore Islam is true”

It is a mockery.. ! because God doesn’t need scientfic validations.. WE need these crutches because we don’t have the decency to marvel at the universe. So we go looking for validations for lack of OUR faith in some “science” …

I sent an email to Dr shahid when he interviewed NS in Dubai before he came back to Pakistan.I expressed my disgust that he was showing no resepect to 2 times elected prime minister and was rather sarcastic. Same month he interview BB and was like licking her toes. I suggested that he should listen to lary king how he conducts the interview with party leaders,ex prime ministers etc. Ofcourse he never replied.
He is an extreemly intelligent man but lacks basic manners. He needs to know the basic fact that communication is a TWO WAY process and active listening is the fundamental principle governing good communication skills required to be a good interviewer.

NS gives him respect even when he humiliates him and that makes NS so great. He respects him because he is a doctor by professionand a learned man but SM cannot rasiprocate that respect which shows how shallow he is.

Dr. Shahid is my favorite and I really like his style. He is the BEST.
Hence that what I do…

* when I have very less time. I do not watch any programs.

*If I have some free time then I watch Meray Mutabik only.

* If I have more free time then I try to watch Live with Talat

* If I have more free time then I try to watch either of capital talk or bolta pakistan.

I do not watch any other programs.

The FREAKS whom he interviews irritates everone.Dr Shahid is honest and patriotic pakistani .

a person with some manners can also be honest..does every honest should be also a person without manners..Talat is as honest as Dr.Shahid but he conduct interviews in very very mature manner and try to give information to viewers..Dr.shahid is a good analyst but not a good person for interviews

In Some People opinion Dr. S.M always interrupt the interviewee all the time.

People like me think that, he doesn’t want people to make round about the issue, to kill the time and don’t answer to right question

The only flaw with Dr Shahid Masood is that he INTERRUPTS JUST WHEN HIS GUEST IS AT THE POINT OF EXPLAINING SOMETHING and look Dr Shahid we dont need your views - we need your guest’s views - that is why you invited them to this programme
