    A curious thing, with the new set, the new intro has come in, and the old one that showed Moshe Saluting Nawaz Sharif has be de-commissioned.

    Good omen? Where are the optimists today? or have we cried victory too many times already?

    Asif Zardari and the leadership of PPP are trying to fool the nation. They are using the formula practiced by Raja Ranjit Singh during his rule, that is

    LAMKAO AND DRAO—————Delaying and fear mongering.

    In my opinion they themselves are fool and are big hipcrtes

Asif Zardari is one of the most corrupted person, I never consider this shaitan as real PPP, He is PML-Q2 supporting Musharraf jahannumi. (May Allah fulfill my words for mush)

    at least all you people give him suggestion that rather to come every program, give intention to his party. No one know who is Sec of party, who is vice chairman who is others. Only one man party. Avoid the situation from Tanga party.

    Maybe you prefer parties like PPP-Q and PML-Q…..They have many seats. Is this the criteria for being right?

    If you like him so much,could you please persuade your family and friends to join PTI.

  • TK said:

    The only problem with “lamkaaoo” policy is that it works (barely) when there is stability in the system. You can’t fuqn “lamkaa” when the ship is disintegrating…

    But these IDIOTS of ours, after only reading 2 pages of “quotes of famous people” decide to run the country based on these quotations completely out of context!!!

    How many of our leaders have read auto/biographies of other leaders? I doubt very many…

    But let them loose in a friggin talk show and watch them quote confucious and attribute it to napolean in bad pidgin engrish!

  • TK said:

    @democrat: well I’m waiting for either PML-N and/or PTI to actually bring about democratic reforms within the party structures and then I think I’ll join one of them.. can’t be sure which one….. it’s a toss up right now.. (50/50 but 90% chance of joining PTI once there are constituency level committees and grass roots organization in effect)

  • democrat said:

    @TK
    I will raise this point with khan next time I meet him on 7th of June. People like you would definitely be an asset to us.I hope it was not sarcism but you really meant it.

  • TK said:

    @democrat: totally dude.. it’s about time we have one progressive party with internal democratic structures.. it will only strengthen democracy.. Tell him he’s doing a great job of cutting through the BS and explaining the core issues to the people.

    I seriously think the work he’s doing is like that of the legend of Johnny Appleseed… just sow the seeds of good deeds and don’t worry about who get’s the credit.. in the end, the whole nation will benefit from these things…especially the change in mindset …

    I would be very interested in hearing about what kind of discussion you have.. PTI can definitely leverage its overseas young pakistani base to study the various parties in the western countries and create a blueprint which could work in the Pakistani context … I think it was raised once somewhere but it got interpretted as (or maybe was) an attack on PTI and IK and the resulting discussion drowned in a minor flamewar… oh well…

  • kafka8 said:

    @tk

    from what i hear, IK doesn’t fully rely/trust some/most office bearers in his party. which is why..after the carnage in karachi…died in media…IK took it upon himself to appear on behalf of his party. (it is also said that it was one reason he did not run…his office bearers did not have the money to run for office)

    a leader IK might be…but not of a poll going political party…though all that can change..if IK raises his head out of right wing discourse.

    but then again…i may be wrong.

  • nota said:

    Folks: Don’t forget to watch Live with Talat of today :)

  • TK said:

    @kafka8: yeah.. I forgot about the whole right-wing bias … I probably should stick with the mazdoor-kissan party .. but you know I think he does command the respect of the youth to a reasonable extent.. but I don’t think they themselves realize their own power and probably neither does he…

    Now the issue is, if the party is organized along democratic principles, it would bootstrap a negative feedback loop / course correction mechanism in all levels of party leadership, and you know, if the party as a whole says “we don’t want IK” then.. IK should respect that and maybe become a private person (don’t think it will happen… but I’m just saying..)

    The problem is that we Pakistani’s are not able to get out of the vicious cycle of personality politics and always look for the hero.. all human cultures do, but somehow, we have to marry this hero with the basic notions of democratic _emergence_ of a lineage of heros who only have the party principles and ideology in common, along with the fact that they have risen from within the ranks of the party and are not part of the exploitative system.

    Maybe calling PTI a “progressive party” was a bit much.. but I don’t think we have defined a genre for parties such as PTI.. should these be called “Islamic Democrats” but then how do we distinguish it from JI and JUI types… who also like to claim the same terrain? National Socialists ??? ;-) ..

  • democrat said:

    @kafka
    if IK is a leader then we can strengthen the party for him. Why to rely on one man. That is a stupid expectation anyway. If you believe that he is an honest person and has the leadership qualities then we should play our role without the greed of reward and that is the only way forward for this country. He is not the rightist but rather a bridge between the two wings and trust me we are lucky to have such a link between the two. Can we just disown or disregard the right wing. Thats what Busharaf tried to do. What I am worried about is that before people loose the hope in the santity of dialogue because of Gand@@s like zardari, someone like Imran can bridge the gap.
    In usa they stil have laws protecting the tribals and also in Australia. We can rely on this man and ask your inner self, you will feel inclined to trust him.We have to remember tht no body is perfect but he is more like us who admits that he had committed mistakes and has the courage and honour to say sorry.

    I don’t think it’s about which “tag” the parties want to be related to. It’s more about what they are i.e. their true deeds!
