May 31st, 2008 at 12:11 am
mush supporters calling in in great numbers… one guy had a very threatening tone (and he was calling from Mansehra .. go figure!)
MM and NJ can’t contain their glee hehehehe ..
May 31st, 2008 at 1:00 am
very good, awesome
May 31st, 2008 at 1:04 am
Mansehra guy belonged to army, its just the way he was speaking. I can bet…
May 31st, 2008 at 3:58 am
@jamil
Yes he was from Army, Nusrat raised very good question about Mush with him like what is his achievement and which war he fought? The caller was baffled and could not answer.
May 31st, 2008 at 4:47 am
Yaar Mansehra guy should “give his jaan” for Mush. Plz yaar jaao jaan day do, plz! Aik tum jaan do aur aik PPPP Zardari ki qurbani day kar hat-trick kar day aur party of the “match” ka award haasil kar lay.
No wonder, we are still living in dark ages!!!
May 31st, 2008 at 4:59 am
For the first time I really loved to hear Nusrat. That Mansera guy seemed to be related to the army. Army still supports mush and all that the army and their families are fed up of this man, is nothing but non-sense. Army always defends its own people, no matter how bad they have been. Need to change this attitude.
May 31st, 2008 at 5:12 am
That “mansehra guy” is EXACTLY WHAT IS WRONG WITH PAK ARMY!
a) They are loyal to their stupid jurnails and to the so called “department”
b) While they should be loyal to THE FUQQINKK NATION!
subtle difference.
a) takes you to Somalia and Nigeria
b) takes you to prosperity, out of the sh!thole that our jurnails have been digging for the past 50 years.
The choice is yours.

@zenith:
I am from a military family and I was born in a military hospital
but lemme make it clear that this country is in shambles and one big reason is the military. Guy you need to realize that if those with the guns are not following any constitution, they are no different from the “badmaash” people. We the people of Pakistan didn’t give and finance their guns so that they can topple the govts. which we elected.
Some of my own relatives serving in the military defend army and I always ask them this simple question: What if the “chaukidaar” of your house using his gun (given to him by you) takes over your house? Will you ever support him? If your answer is NO, I have convinced you. If your answer is YES subject to some condition, then NO WONDER THAT THE ARMY IS “BAY-GHAIRAT” ENOUGH TO TAKE OVER.

gr8 show Nusrat rocks after long time
May 31st, 2008 at 6:35 am
Nusrat rocks only when its something against Musharraf. He is a cat when it come to Zardari, even if Zardari is doing exactly the same thing Musharraf has done.
May 31st, 2008 at 6:39 am
wht the happen today callers
May 31st, 2008 at 2:43 pm
It is amazing to see Pakistanis wanting still to die for Musharraf. That is precisely the reason why they have been lorded over by these soldiers for so long. Go on Musharraf, go on!
May 31st, 2008 at 3:40 pm
I personally think that lawyers’ movement should include another objective in its target(s):
The end of the US interference in the internal politics of the Pakistan.
Bush had made a call to Musharraf. The purpose is to send a message that the US is at his back. You, the Pakistani people, are no more than ants.
I view it as another, perhaps the greatest, insult to Pakistani people.

Musharraf fought in 1965 and 1971 wars, none of these two anchors did. If they were indeed professionals, they would have apologized for their gleeful and immature behavior on May 29, 2008, when they spread the false rumors that a plane had arrived and Musharraf was about to flee the country.
These lifafa journalists and other talking heads are not worth listening to.

@GM
My mistake, I was not aware of this, thanks for your information.
June 5th, 2008 at 10:20 pm
@zenith,
I beg to differ. I belong to an Army family, and I can guarantee that the majority of the Army officers are indeed fed up of Musharraf. If you say that NO one should be supporting Musharraf, I am afraid you are living in a dream world. I even have some civilian friends who completely agree with Musharraf to this day. Time and again I have had debates with them, but have been unable to convince them. Therefore, please refrain from generic statements.
June 5th, 2008 at 11:23 pm
KG
Would it make any difference if I told you my family too has been serving the army since the inception of pakistan and even long before?
I only say that our army has no right to call itself a professional army for reasons discussed above. Secondly, musharraf is nothing, but a symbol of power of the military establishment. Every time we hear people accusing few generals of committing follies, but after sometime the same officers you are refering to who are
June 5th, 2008 at 11:44 pm
Whether our Army has the right to call itself a professional army is a different debate altogether, one which I have not touched at all. You say that I should not talk about Unity of Command do defend my argument. Can you please enlighten me as to what my argument is? It has nothing to do with defending the actions of the Army in taking over the country. I sincerely believe it was wrong in doing that. I was merely saying that stereotyping the Army is wrong too, just like saying all the people of NWFP are terrorists, or that Punjabis hate Sindhis/Baluchis. Do you even know that lots of Army/Air Force personnel have actually refused to be a part of the attacks on Waziristan?
The sense of superiority you talk about eludes me. I have yet to observe that in the Army in general. Sure, some people do think that way, and they are definitely wrong to do so.
Lastly, the takeovers you talk about are perpetrated only by a very small faction. It is the same situation as the one where our politicians, who are a very small part of the Pakistani nation, would sell their own mothers to serve their purposes, while the people of Pakistan cry over what they are doing. Generalizing, I could also claim that these politicians are in power only by the support of the Pakistani people, and it is the Pakistani people who are at fault for electing them again and again. So you see, the matter is not as simple as you might think it is.

KG
“Do you even know that lots of Army/Air Force personnel have actually refused to be a part of the attacks on Waziristan?”
So, did that stop the army from conducting massive operations?
By the way I was refering to baluchistan. Anyways, my point is still the same that if so many officers were opposed to this, why wasn’t there an immediate impact on the high-command? Why was the situation brought to this impasse?
I say this because of the seriousness of these issues as the country’s existence is at stake. There have been instances of total insubordination in many armies and even elimination of higher-ups deemed responsible and our army could have conceived something like that if they really hated musharraf. The people expect such drastic measures from the army, as people in extreme poverty still provide enough resources to further empower the army and when they see the affluent life styles of our beloved army in general and the persecution of their own people, it really enrages them. The man power constitutes the power of the army, if the high-command gets an inkling of their dislike for the policies, changes are made; however, in this case may be the impact of the refusal of a few officers was something not even note worthy.
As long as the army keeps producing master pieces like musharraf and co. and not only producing , but also defending them while an overwhelming majority awaits his ouster, the army will be criticized and even resisted by all sections of the society, as it is the cumulative effect of the flawed policies of the army being imposed upon us for 6 decades, which also diluted some good that might have been done by the army.
June 6th, 2008 at 12:37 am
So by your logic, can I also assume that the Pakistani people are just a corrupt, selfish bunch who only care about themselves and no one else?
June 6th, 2008 at 12:52 am
@ KG
“So by your logic, can I also assume that the Pakistani people are just a corrupt, selfish bunch who only care about themselves and no one else?”
Corruption is rampant, but whose responsible?
An individual or a system consistently ravaged by the army?
June 6th, 2008 at 2:36 am
@justiceforall:
Kargil was agreed upon by entire brass and political leadership. An op like that cannot be planned and executed in Stealth. If Nawaz Sharif had any courage it would succeeded however he ran away to Washington, and later to Saudi Arabia.
I call these 2 lifafa journalists based on the lies and rumors they were spreading.
June 6th, 2008 at 7:26 am
Oh please! Atleast that much you can’t solely blame on the Army. Can you please establish a causal relationship between the two?
