Katrina Hussain was the first pakistani woman to report from a war zone during the first gulf war, I believe she reported from Iraq- not Asma Shirazee. Albeit Katrina was a print journalist.

I really don’t see any solutions coming from our in-ept and incompetent ruling class.

They keep whining and complaining about how bad we’ve got without realizing _why_ it is so. If Shah Mahmodd querishi and YRG get some time away from Zardari’s nutsack, they could come up with a proper startegy, but apparently their first priority is to clean zardari’s a-hole out with their noses!!!

And these idiots (like mushahid et. al) want to (still!!!!!) ignore this. The whole west is gearing up for invasion of Pakistan, and Mushahid Hussain is content to point out that Lion is just being a douchbag and in the wrong and the lamb is in the right! Do they even know the ritualistic way the west behaves before they attack someone? they build a case for years (on the backburner).

    And we’re in dire straits!

    Our Army is compromised.
    Our bureaucracy is compromised
We are overrun by foreign intelligence agencies.. Our president might as well be a mossad agent.

Our political leadership is incompetent, myopic and paralyzed.
Our enemies are trumping us on EVERY FRONT!

We need some measures RIGHT NOW to put this son of a wh0re Karzai on the backfoot.

    – Announce You will start laying mines to “comply” with Afghanistan’s request.
    – Announce YOU WILL SEND BACK the 1.5 million refugess (announce a fuqn schedule.. WHAT THE FUQ are you waiting for? US Troops in Pindi? as your “brave” Jurnails flee the capital ??)
    – Announce You will have to review bases in Pakistan.
    – USE THOSE FUQN chinese planes that we’ve been buying you as 70 millions of us go hungry every night .. SO YOU CAN FUQN FIGHT! Now use’m you cowards!
    – Shoot down some gunships ‘by mistake’… you pu$$ies!!!

Gawd… what a nation of fuqn pu$$ies! only capable of cutting ts own wrists and nothing more..

Where the FUQ is the Afghanistan, India policy you nutbags????? SheedooN ki PaalTi… sheedooN ki paaLTi… I’m sick of your stupid sheedoon ki paalTi

Well said. However, Pakistan cannot retaliate militarily while consuming millions of American dollars at the same time. Stop taking money, expel Patterson, then see if there are any further violations.

If Pakistan just cease the border and tell the pig(karzai) that we are no more going to allow any transport from Pakistan, ask your Aaqa’s to take care of you……..then see how will they react
    But ………..
PPP will never ever do that because they share the same Aaqa with the pig.

@HR: I’m not so sure. The largest recipient of US “aid” money after IzGHEE_AL is Turkey.. and they seem to hold their own rather well.. It shows that you can get the money _and_ be relatively independent in your foreign policy. Also they have a pretty firm commitment to the secularist nature of the regime (but it was a liability throughtout the cold war in which the US was turning every Muslim country into Fanato-Land)

The thing is that Turkey has an establishment and a ruling class which spans centuries… as opposed to our ruling class which consists solely and exclusively of STUPID ULLU KA PATTHAA’s as witnessed by this panel.

Self respect comes from identity. We have suppressed our identites and adopted some grotesque sh!t that no-one wants to fight for. We did this to avert fragmentation, but that is exactly what will be achieved.

A little self respect goes a long way. Our ‘establisment’ consists of craven vultures who start having withdrawl symptoms at the mere thought of having to make their own decisions without having to get permission from US/UK. We don’t need to get into needless confrontations, but we also need to slap their wrists.. otherwise this familiarity will only breed contempt (fueled by the spinelessness of our ruling classes).

I completely agree that a nation can receive aid and still remain relatively independant, however the difference in this case is Pakistan is receiving cash specifically for services rendered along the Durand line. Hence the American argument, if you can’t do what we pay you for properly, then we’ll fix it ourselves.
In my opinion it is imperative that Pakistan renegotiate terms for this military misadventure and stop being an American contractor. Only then will protests and condemnations gain meaning.

External threat is coupled with internal inconsistencies. Pakistan should not drag its feet by indulging in internal squables…

The time is Now to get together and stop the threat from across the border(s).

It’s in the Nation’s interest to stop insurgencies into the neighbour’s borders. Pakistan can’t afford to allow a situation to develop similar to Iraq-Iran or Israel-Gaza… the Big and the smaller dajjals are rubbing their hands gleefully to create excuses!

In the Nation’s interest, the Lawyers movement must not restrict itself to long marches only. it should hold conventions, pass resolutions and Force parliament to act according to the Wishes and in the Interest of the Nation. It should invite sincere, patriotic representatives from all the forces (including people from all walks of lives (Politicians, Civl Societies, retirees, public etc.etc.) and “Act Now” should be the motto!

Where there is a will there is away. May God guide Pakistan. Amen!

the following will suggest that counter intelligence operations are in full swing and will only intensify. When read in conjunction with the eric margolis piece posted in another thread…the following could not have happened without sufficient ‘input’ from the ‘right quarters’, on both sides of the divide….

@kafka8: thanks for posting the link.. a very very inturrusting news indeed. And it think your’e spot on regarding ‘the input’… the networks are gelling on this side of the border too… and that is not a good thing for our own security.

    but one thing is clear:

is jinn ki jaan iski supply lines maeN hai.

I can’t believe it has taken so long for people to realize this, though it is the most obvious thing.

Future defense strategies against superpower interventions shoud look into bringing down the supply planes and not the fighter planes…

BTW, could it also be bait? to bring those ‘right quarters’ in focus on both sides? Because those super fortress galaxy plane things could carry these parts… unless it’s a chinook fuselage … so why would they do this and not just fly the dang things to bagram airbase?

either that or moshe has granted them supply line privileges as well (despite denying it all along).

Eric’s piece you are looking for is here.

    @kafka8
Regarding the helicopters: Am not clear whether just parts were stolen or whole helicopters…The title says parts but the story switches to:
Chinook and Black Hawk were captured recently while the Cobra was hijacked some weeks back. When the Taliban first captured the Cobra helicopter, they filmed all the stolen parts and supplied the CD to their allies in Afghanistan.

Some people in the Farah province of western Afghanistan showed interest in purchasing the Cobra helicopter and subsequently its parts were smuggled to Farah. Taliban sold this Cobra to an unidentified customer for several hundred thousand dollars.

Here’s the Jang version (third story). Doesn’t seem just parts to me….seems they got ALL the parts :)
(Wonder who bought the Cobra) :)

I’m wondering if Hamid Mir is off air because of fears of him airing this story??? this seems pretty serious stuff… It could be the chinese and russians looking for these parts.. to study materials and systems onboard these craft.

I heard somewhere that the chinese have made a clone of the stinger missile as well… not sure how true that rumour is.

Thanks for the link. Eric’s article just goes to show that just about everyone seems to be nervous about an all out invasion of Pakistan, except our own politicians. War noises are being made, the usual tableau is being played out on the world stage that precedes US invasion of any country, and our leaders will talk about anything but this looming threat. Ofcourse, Talat picked up on it a couple of days ago, but that’s about it.

“I heard somewhere that the chinese have made a clone of the stinger missile as well… not sure how true that rumour is.”

I heard the same thing about tribal people not Chinese, those who are making guns.
I am not sure about if it is true or not.
