WASHINGTON, June 29: Pakistani physicians in America concluded their three-day annual session in Washington on Sunday pledging a strong support for the lawyers’ movement for the reinstatement of the deposed judges. They had invited leaders representing all shades of opinion on the judicial dispute to a gathering for which people had to pay $50 each to attend.

I hope establishment is listening. Why in the world we invited a terrosit, murderer aka Farooq Sattar to the meeting in Washington DC?
He should have been slapped and kicked out of the meeting.

they got what they want
June 30th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
meant to say with above comment, they got what they deserve.

excellent! great job by the audience members. they have totally represented the views of Pakistanis like me.
Haqqani and more importantly the Muttahida Qaatil Movement totally deserve all this and more. Haqqani is one arrogant piece of sht.

I think Pakistanis especially those living in foreign countries need some patience. I am totally against insulting your own ambassador in a foreign country. It sounds immature and childish act. I thought independent channels have brought some tolerance in people but unfortunately our minds are still in the dictator era. We dictate our point of view by force which is shameful. What did they get? People around the world would appreciate how decent Pakistanis are to their own people? They made MQM and Pakistani foreign affair dept as victims of their maniac behavior. I think they lacked guts to convince their point of view.

justice wajeeh was heckled too;

Seems we Pakistanis have lost any sense of dignity and like dogs get to each others throats…and this too in a foreign country for all to make fun of us.
Everyone should have listened to each other patiently and in turn should have expressed their opinion in a civilised way and on the podium.

@Shahabj
“I think they lacked guts to convince their point of view.”
Please do tell. How the guts work? How it would have made a difference?
BTW, what do you think of an amassader insulting and belittling his country and countrymen?

”
Does it apply on Haqqani too?
June 30th, 2008 at 6:14 pm
he should take anne patterson’s place in islamabad
June 30th, 2008 at 6:14 pm
i agree with number of comments here that one should not insult your own ambassador. However if one has been insulted then this means he has lost the trust of his own people and should resign immediately

Can anyone please share more details on the treatment F@%$#&!# Sattar got? I love it…
June 30th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
Treatment meted out to Haqqani is music to my ears. And don’t miss please, his smallness, when he threatreatened the crowd that they will be coming to him for passports…..!
Chota Panda.

this haqqani arrogance is reflective of how confident he is of his position (read bumreeki blessings)
June 30th, 2008 at 7:48 pm
the chornicles of faujistania continue…….
June 30th, 2008 at 10:09 pm
WOW..people’s anger has reached now Washington.
June 30th, 2008 at 10:20 pm
@yahya
I was personally there in Washington. Justice Wajih was not interrupted even once, in fact he was given a warm applause of at least 2 minutes when he came on stage.
Hussain Haqqani was given toughest time when he said that it is an obligation of every Pakistani to respect Zardari and Musharraf. Farooq Sattar was also heckled.
There were around 1000 people in the hall and only 15-20 favored MQM and Haqqani. Both of them were literally embarrassed.
Ahsan Iqbal, Aitzaz and Wajih Sahab drews most respect.

For all of you who are proponents of decency, dignity and tolerance and have made comments towards the same on this web site Blog- please do not be shocked with what happened in the doctor’s meeting. All you have to do is read most of the comments made on this very web site by people who are not only intollerant of differing views of other but who use indecent and pornographic language to express their displeasure. Fortunately the web site postings are not in sound otherwise we would have to deal with the issue of noise also.
So big surprize that PPP and PML-N and such have gotten the most votes and the lawyers movement has as yet failed to achieve their gola of restoration of the judiciary. And Mr. Zardari is the uncrowned King of Pakistan.
June 30th, 2008 at 10:54 pm
I would agree on this one with shamotree

Decent people do not behave like this.
We must condemn this fascism.
There is always a civilized way to register your protest.
We are all equal human beings and have no intellectual or spiritual superiority our one another.
If we want freedom of expression we must give this right to others also.

The reason for the invitation of F. Sattar is, many apna members are from MQM and education have not brought any change into their racial discrimination-based attitude, according to my experience with some of those people.
July 1st, 2008 at 4:58 am
@ muhammad777
Its not about decency or being fascism …. if you were not there please dont comment as you dont know what happend.
Mr. Farooq Sattar said that you people are wasting time in fighting for judiciary, instead you should be protesting the killings of innocent people by army in northern areas. I dont want to comment any further on this because any one with lowest IQ knows how to behave after this comment.
Remember one thing that everyone has the right to share its opnion. But you have no right to tell people to worship God and Satan at the same time.

“We must condemn this fascism.”
I am sorry to say, but it seems, you don’t know the meaning of “fascism”; and if you do then you are deliberately misusing it. It would have been more appropriate had you used this term for Haqqani and Sattar. My experience also tells me, this is a favorite argument of MQM (mostly against Punjabis). I hope you are an exception and not merely parting party ‘talking points’.
“If we want freedom of expression we must give this right to others also.”
Do you think the same should apply on Mushy, Zardari, Haqqani, Sattar, and Altaf Bhai too?
