- Is he not guilty of accepting “unprecedented financial benefits were offered to” him as stated in the article?
- Is he not guilty because “the recruitment procedure for the appointment of the new PTV chairman was ignored” for him?
- Is he not guilty of “keeping the complete remuneration, perks and privileges package secret”?
- Is he not guilty of accepting “hundreds of thousands of rupees from the public exchequer”?
- Is he not guilty of shutting his mouth in return for sacks full of cash?
- Is he not guilty of hypocrisy to the highest extent? I mean what were all those tirades about the poor when he knows his pay and perks are going to be costing a hundred / a thousand (dependent on the package he got) of those poor their meals?

Dr. Sahid Masood is a talented interviewer and has done well in the past. PTV is a corporation and all corporations that do not do well- change their management and they try to get the best they can. The best that they think is the best . For better or for worse they think Sahid Masood is the best man for re-organizing their TV network and it’s programing and they are willing to pay big bucks to him for that. What they are buying is his reputation -( inspite of what a lot of commentators are saying on this web site)- and perhaps his organizational and creative capabilities.

I find it odd that a Senator would question the amount of money he is being paid. The senate is doing NOTHING as yet they are getting paid big bucks. The people can be critical but the politicians have no right whatsoever to be critical since in the last 4 months they have produced nothing but a lot of hot air. This just goes to show that they have no ability or capability that anyone is willing to buy for big bucks.

Shahid Masood may have the best of intentions but the way he has procured this post shows how sincere he was. Yes the only talent he has is he has command over urdu langauge and he can speak eloquently. As for his news he started on ARY in England on News and Views where he would collect the news from internet and then combine them and present it. He went to ARY One World where he was thrown out and was then offered a post in Geo and now he has come to PTV.

He may have benefited financially but this one move has ruined his reputation. Just like Haqaani, Nazir Naji, Najam Sethi, Zia Shahid, Mushahid Hussain, Maliha Lodhi and Sherry Rehman - these are the guys who through use of journalism and blackmail have reached the heights because through normal political process they could not even dream of winning a councillor seat - let alone NA.

Zardari by relying on such guys is creating a big hole for himself. He should keep away from such opportunists. Shahid Masood was a doctor who could not even pass his FRCS exam. He is not a true journalist - he is a pseudo journalist who finally has been bought. Its good for him and good for us - as we now able to see his true face.
