Just now Talat was showing the summary in his programme that Pakistani leaders spend a lot of time out of pakistan in last 3 months,
Yusaf raza Gilani 21 days
Nawaz sharif 26 days……..and continues
Zardari………………..35 days …..and continues
July 11th, 2008 at 5:32 pm
@kafka
elaborate plz
July 11th, 2008 at 5:33 pm
@revo
elaborate on what…?
July 11th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
you said “that is very much on the cards”. what is very much on the cards? let me be more specific.
I read soemwhere that Fatima, Sassi etc. are trying to form a group against AZ, and Amin Fahim is also being invited to join it. Is this what you are talkign about when you say “according to your sources, thatis on the cards”.
OR
DO you mean NS contacting Fahim
July 11th, 2008 at 5:48 pm
http://www.thenews.com.pk/updates.asp?id=49478
though I have my reservation about this general..
July 11th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
Talat is saying the same thing that there is an imminent danger of american attack on tribal areas..
July 11th, 2008 at 5:50 pm
@revo
that bit of info you refer to was in the papers…but it isn’t quite like that yet. the old guard is meeting…mumtaz, jatoi, others….and i know that fatima and co are on good terms with mumtaz.
So yes…Nawaz needs to addres AA and Amin Fahim…and NS already has an old relationship with old guard (jatoi, mumtaz, etc) …
How the two meet…will depend on AA…if he is smart (as i think he is) if and when he agrees to kick zardaro in the butt…he will invite fatima, sassi, all former diehards to join the ranks…but will he?
July 11th, 2008 at 5:53 pm
@kafka8
“How the two meet…will depend on AA…if he is smart (as i think he is) if and when he agrees to kick zardaro in the butt…he will invite fatima, sassi, all former diehards to join the ranks…but will he?”
AA DOES NOT have the guts to do that, sorry to say…..
July 11th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
@kafka
NS was instrumental is not letting Amin fahim be the PM remember. I wonder how Amin Fahim will respond to NS, if an offer is made.
But i dont think any of this is going to happen. Like nota said, AA does not have the guts to do any of this
July 11th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Here is an excellent article from Ayaz Amir on the current political situation in Pakistan.
Arrest this rot, please, if Pakistan is to be saved
http://thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=123477
Admin: It deserves space on the front page of pkpolitics.com.
July 11th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
@nota
as much as i would like to disagree with you…and TK might too…i think you are right there….but then again….the way things are unfolding..just need a spark to get the fire going..
NS can create the spark…by making that public appeal to disgruntled leaders of PPP to join the APDM…!! (it will have atleast two significant outcomes: 1. zardaro’s credibility will be directly questioned 2. in case of early elections NS will have a major victory and PPP minus zardaro bloc..will eat away at their national vote bank in a major way with PML-N support
July 11th, 2008 at 6:04 pm
@revo
it takes a politician to say..that it (anti amin fahim stance) was a request from zardaro..and he believed that he was dealing with the party of the SHaheed benazir…shaheed zulfiqar…but instead he was dealing with zar-dari…
and who knows ..the above might be true.
July 11th, 2008 at 6:11 pm
@dmin
would request that you upload todays ‘Alif ‘ prog on GEO: the subject is Tassawuf.
it will be nice to balance the discourse on/about religion.on this forum..with some scholarly perspectives.
July 11th, 2008 at 7:01 pm
@nota & @kafka8: “AA does not have the guts to do any of this”
sad but true…

Good article on agriculture/water issue: http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=123482
I was going to email this to the agricultaral minister just for the heck of it when I realized they don’t provide email addresses on the pakistan gov’t website, only phone numbers. Which is somewhat absurd but not as absurd as the fact that our agricularal minister Nazar Muhammad Gondol is also our narcotics minister.
But there should be talk show programs on land reforms/changing of the farm laws.
July 11th, 2008 at 8:40 pm
@kafka
Even though I want this to happen, and I want zardari and his chamchas to be kicked out of the party for good, there is one fear in my mind. NS labeled Amin Fahim as pro-establishment remember? From, certain sources that I trust, I have got confirmation that Amin Fahim is pro-establishment.
Now, if such a colloid is formed between NS, AF, the real bhuttos etc., would the establishment gain something from this, specially by having Amin Fahim in the mix of things.
July 11th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
@revo
i am not sure about this pro-establishment aspect of amin fahim…if he is..then by all means …keep him out!! keep all such elements out!! start afresh..build for the future…on people like that kid from harvard…like these students from SAC…
July 11th, 2008 at 8:55 pm
@kafka
Funny that you brought that up, did you read the article by the guy from Harvard. Makes one feel very proud

So, here is the situation today:
- US planes carried out a strike in South Waziristan, injuring many people and NATO is suggesting that the strike was justified (http://thepost.com.pk/)
- India is accusing Pakistan of aiding infiltration into held Kashmir (http://thenews.jang.com.pk/top_story_detail.asp?Id=15940)
- Shah Mehmud Qureshi (SMQ) is sucking up to Condoleezza Rice and is suggesting that “US respects Pakistan’s sovereignty: Qureshi” (http://thenews.jang.com.pk/top_story_detail.asp?Id=15941). I mean you have to be an absolute an absolute moron if you really mean it, which he (SMQ) is. His stance is no different from the kuss-chod Haqqani who has tried to make people believe that the US (somehow) has done (something) good for Pakistan (excuse my French but these low-life retards make me sick to my stomach with their moronic statements).
All the top Mo-Fokkers in ZPP are spreading the same propaganda that (somehow) US has done good for Pakistan. The noose is getting tight around Pakistan and that day is not too far, if things remain this way, that it will get difficult to even breathe and as realistic it may seem, I really do not want to think about it.

Listen to Benazir blast the Supreme Court and Choudhry Iftikhar a day before returning (oct 17, 2007) …
Come to think of it, Zardari doesnt’ sound that much different from her.
July 12th, 2008 at 3:58 am
@TK
Nothing new here from her. There is a reason that she left the snake Zardari incharge of the party because she knew that he would not leave any stone unturn to fok the country and that is exactly he is doing.
July 12th, 2008 at 4:03 am
@TK,
She forgot to mention in her rant against Punjab that it was because of Punjab that ZAB and she became PMs.

“there is an imminent danger of american attack on tribal areas.”

US commandos are reportedly poised to launch raids against al-Qa’ida and Taliban targets in Pakistan as Washington moves an aircraft carrier into the Arabian Sea.

A good analogy and a good question:
Only questions, no answers
“…We are, as the Americans say, caught between a rock and a hard place. Our position is similar to that of Norodom Sihanouk during the height of the Vietnam war when, in spite of all his brilliance, he could not prevent that war from engulfing Cambodia. How are we to get out of this impasse?…”

Mullen to ‘read the riot act’ to Pakistan
WASHINGTON: United States Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen will be in Pakistan to “read the riot act” to the government and express his country’s frustration with Islamabad’s lack of ability or willingness, or both, to move decisively against terrorist groups.
A well-informed source, when asked if US patience with what it sees as Pakistani “flip-flop and procrastination” is running out, said: “It is very close to that.” When it does, the world will see unilateral US military action, covert and overt, in the Tribal Areas. Actionable intelligence, when received, will be acted upon immediately, “with or without Pakistan”, he added….
July 12th, 2008 at 9:49 am
Earlier I had put up a story from France (”Muslim woman deemed too radical to be French “). Now here’s one from Italy:
Mosques must recognize Israel
Italy may take its discriminatory practices to a new level, calling for measures to make mosque leaders quit unless they recognize Israel.
Action must be taken so that mosque supervisors recognize Israel, said European Affairs Minister Andrea Rochi.
We must force those who do not recognize Israel to leave the mosques, he added, according to Italian news agency Il Tempo.

Federal Judge Ruling: George W. Bush is a Felon
Chief Judge Vaughn Walker of the US District Court in California has ruled that President George W. Bush is a felon. This is just one news regarding what they call “integration”, but which in reality is a European desire for total ASSIMILATION of their Muslim populations. Sadly there is absolutely no Muslim nation, who can oppose them or maybe just ask some questions to that………let alone stop them. Muslims have made themselves a prey to anybody by their willingness to play Mir Jaffers.

We have been doing that for centuries, and sadly it has become a habit
I just saw a BBC program showing how the West conquered us (They admit it and still we can’t see the light…Yes, we are really DUMB). It was way back in the medieval times, when they conquered Sicily and then Andalusia….It all started there. I remember this quote from my revolutionary france class:
“If the priveleged order were abolished, the nation would not be anything less than it is, but rather something more. Thus, what is the Third Estate? Everything, but a hobbled and oppressed everything. What would it be without the priveleged classes? Everything — but a free and flourishing everything.” - Sieyes 1789
This is who Pakistani’s have to get rid of: feudals/ ultra right wing mullahs/ army generals/ ethnic based parties/ inheritors of political legacies/ opposers of a free judiciary/ supporters of the NRO/ sell outs to foreign interests - then the masses will flourish.

Who will respond to American terrorism - editorial daily Jassarat
After yet another US attack on Pakistan’s military check post and wounding 9 soldiers, the papers asks: who will respond to the US terrorism? The US claimed the attack was on terrorist camp. The paper asks, are our soldiers, who are being sacrificed by the Pakistani regime at the alter of US war, also terrorists? The last line says, Pakistani leaders have totally submitted to the US as slaves. Otherwise at least they should pull out of the US “war on terror.”
This editorial that says a lot more than a quick summary above is not fromt eh Taliban. it is not a circular from madrassa or a flyer for Jihad. This is coming from one of the leading national dailies. Thhis is not misinterpreting Islam. This is not using Islam to “radiclaize” Muslims. It is stating facts which Pakistanis are witnessign and living on daily basis. For the analysts sitting thousands of miles away, it is easy to blame everything on Islam, fundamentalism, extremism and avoid the root causes of of unrest and grievances. But those who live through this reality don’t even need this editorial. They know more than this editorial can put together in a politically correct way.

US General Says Bush Administration Guilty Of War Crimes
The Army general who led the investigation into prisoner abuse at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison accused the Bush administration Wednesday of committing “war crimes” and called for those responsible to be held to account.
The remarks by Maj. Gen. Antonio Taguba, who’s now retired, came in a new report that found that U.S. personnel tortured and abused detainees in Iraq, Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, using beatings, electrical shocks, sexual humiliation and other cruel practices.
“After years of disclosures by government investigations, media accounts and reports from human rights organizations, there is no longer any doubt as to whether the current administration has committed war crimes,” Taguba wrote. “The only question that remains to be answered is whether those who ordered the use of torture will be held to account.” more….

i second kafka8’s suggestion
July 13th, 2008 at 11:28 pm
@kafka8: brilliant idea! I think there should be another thread where people can post pakistan related foreign news media items. VN&V thread is too noisy, but I think it would help in even formulating a response to these articles as some of the people who read it here could be encouraged to go on those forums and sort of present Pakistan’s/Democracy’s case?
Ever mention the word JEW or ISRAEL APARTHEID WALL in a forum and see people materialize out of nowhere like flies on a piece of sh!t? There are clearinghouses of information that “alert” certain “respondents” whose job it seems is to defend Israel’s actions full on on most popular website (just look at any of them digg, reddit, slash, huffpo, tpm etc. etc.)
P.S. let’s see if it works for _this_ post

That really is funny. She certainly has taken a flight of fantasy. Remember she can’t protect her own “honour” as TK posted above(”YRG Complains to Zardaro that Rehman Malik usko class meN ungal detaa rehta hai”). I hope she read today’s “The News” with her FM saying Pakistan is in the eye of the storm. Also I would suggest her to read Dr Farrukh Saleem’s piece titled The Yanks are coming.
July 14th, 2008 at 6:52 am
Remember this little gem? Well here’s more proof we are closer to Italians than we think….
MPs pass Berlusconi immunity bill
…The amendment protects top public officials, including the prime minister and president, from prosecution….. Another bill reforming the justice system, which would freeze all trials for alleged crimes committed before 2002, is currently making its way through parliament.
The killer excuse offered for the “NRO” is by their Justice Minister Angelino “Naik” Alfano:
“Having brilliantly won the elections, Silvio Berlusconi deserves to be able to calmly govern this government. And this country needs to be governed.”
(For those still having doubts, remember in the first two elections he won he made tons of promises to his voters but of course he did not keep them. This time his campaing was based on “No promises!” which was good enough for the Italians to elect him for the third time
)

“ADAM SMITH’S PRAISE OF THE KHILAFAH”
Adam Smith, the 18th Century founder of modern economics whose picture is printed on the current UK £20 note, was exceedingly inspired by the Islamic method of governing. He proclaimed that:
“…the empire of the Caliphs seems to have been the first state under which the world enjoyed that degree of tranquility which the cultivation of the sciences requires. It was under the protection of those generous and magnificent princes, that the ancient philosophy and astronomy of the Greeks were restored and established in the East; that tranquility, which their mild, just and religious government diffused over their vast empire, revived the curiosity of mankind, to inquire into the connecting principles of nature.” *

“I can’t speak for Shahid Masood yet, but for the others who were talking, all I have to say is that “what did you expect from Kanjar-zaats and wh0res?”
Aren’t you a bit unfair towards p!mp’s and wh0res” ?

@kafka8
Re: Marble
Hey, isn’t that an improvement? For years since 9/11 they have been screaming Al-Q supported by drug trade and they were even running ads saying “If you buy drugs, you are helping Al-Q!” Would now the slogan be “If you are buying marble, you are supporting the Taliban”?
July 14th, 2008 at 12:39 pm
@nota
they probably realized…that the drug drum roll…takes away from the case against pakistan!
that is probably the imbecellic intent!!
and yeah dont buy marble….if you are with us!!! haha!!

Leaders from third world countries can be tried in the "International" court in at
the Hague. This time it is the
Sudanese leader
succeeding Charles Tailor from Liberia. "Real" justice from "democratic"
Europeans…..gasp….. They didn’t have the guts to make a statement against
the butcher Sharon. He committed crimes against humanity in Lebanon (Sabra and
Shatila). They will not miss a chance to have a go against weak opponents. It’s
all about their business to show their ugly "human" face………"human rights"….new
world order………..gasp……..But what the heck. We deserve this treatment,
when have such low class leaders. NS/AZ is not different
July 14th, 2008 at 3:39 pm
@shirukh
well said!! this is the field…that they have constructed…their rules…their umpires…everything is flexible as long it is in their ‘interests’. if only the beardo brigades …were braino brigades….sigh..but no…education corrupts…and absolute education corrupts absolutely!!

India provides free PDF textbooks, while punjab text book board not only DOES NOT provide free PDF’s, it just increased the price on school books unannounced!
Meanwhile, TK is banned from cussing these MoFo’s out!

@TK
Are we are doomed?
Maybe we have lost the battle, but we have NOT lost the war yet (IMO)….though we are close to that.
Come what come may , but the fight continues against these leeches……aaarrrgghhhh. Why the hell can’t these people or rather creatures understand that if Pakistan is no more, then they will have nothing to loot…..Their “friends” will kick their @ss first……….Look around and you will find proof a plenty.

Haroon-ur-Rashid in his latest column is alleging that Ishaq Dar has transferred all his liquid assets out of the country.
inturrustinger and inturrestinger!

@shirkuh: being the foreigner’s lackey has always been profitable for our “ruling class” (and no, I don’t mean the gucci wearing fashion designers with their saggy t!ts hanging out, I mean the makhdooms and pir’s and “raja’s” )
The “chattel” will still be here, and the chattel will need some obedient “naukars” that the foreigners can control remotely (moreso than before).
The british killed off the Muslim ruling class, and advanced the likes of illegitimate bihari types who didn’t have the NUTS to live honourably in an India that we ruled for a thousand years.
What a fokking joke our “ruling class” has been. I propose execution for all 20 thousand of them.

I read about SS wading in the flooded streets of lahore. Good to see. If it were Pervaiz Elahi, he would be in a helicopter, talking t media how he flew past the common people of lahore. Moonis Elahi should be made to swim in the streets of lahore.
July 14th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
@ revo
you mean Nikka Izab-e-Ilahi should be given ‘ghotas’ in the streets of lahore!

Looks like the “Taliban” who are causing heavy casualties to PArmy maybe “outsiders”
It remains to be seen if it is Al-gay-duh, the “RAW Taliban” or the US agents dressed up as pashtuns.
It is very much possible that the Beardo’s are once again playing in the hands of contemporary powers to eventually cause their own defeat.
This is why reading history is more important than weilding a gun. Your generations can die like dogs for foreigners thinking they are engaging in Jeehad (AlKhamdolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllilllllllllllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaah!)

ever single western newsreel is blaming Pakistan for it, but Zardari is busy showing his DooNDa face to everyone…
Zardari must be kicked out of the party leadership, or hold party elections, run for office and run the fokking country properly.

July 14th, 2008 at 5:45 pm
@TK
problem with your propsoal re Zardari are
-Zardari must be kicked out of the party leadership - there are so many opportunist ministers, chairmen of various entities who will never let this happen
-or hold party elections - this has never happened in PeePeePee and Shaheed mohtarma has said it in her ‘wasiat’ so thats the end of that
-run for office and run the fokking country properly - r u kidding! expect anything but running the country properly from AZ
July 14th, 2008 at 5:51 pm
@TK
you said that every western newsreel is blaming pakistan…………. well this is because our leaders themselves accept this charge. previously it was mush now it is zardoaro’s mouthpiece Mr YRG…
unless we (our leaders) stop making mountain of these stories ourselves which have no proof…wetern media only need an excuse

Hey kids, did you know that the “GHQ” ordered the 71 war diaries destroyed? (source: Gen. K. M. Arif)
Now, if you had the ba!!s to hang JUST ONE of these ba$$tards, you think they would pull a trick like this again?
But you are pu##ies, and you don’t like the F word, meanwhile your fokking nation is a$$raped for 60 years. NEVERMIND! as long as they say please and thank you, they can mother FOK you all they want.
You got your priorities all set baby!!. Just don’t go around crying when your children have to go wh()ring in the streets of Lahore and Multan because you were too much of pu$$ies to stand up for your dignity.
Don’t say F word! It bothers my pseudo polite sensitivites!

“Afghanistan boycotts meetings with Pakistan”
