It may be good to restore the judges. They are exaggerating its importance for political reasons.

When Ifteqar M Chaudhry was the chief justice, was there not corruption throughout the judiciary system? Were the poor able to get justice without shelling out their hard earned money just to get a hearing?

Did the lawyers ever raise a voice against the corruption they witnessed every day in the courts?

It is argued that if judges are restored, no future General will have the courage to stage a military coup.

An example of a fiercely independent judiciary will be a deterrent, but no guarrantee for the future.

When politicians are as corrupt, petty and vindictive as they have been in the past and as they appear to be now, at some point the people desire for a military messiah.

And when the people welcome a military take over, the judges will either toe the line or be replaced by others.
