AHRC ie, The Asian Human Rights Commission demands probe into detention of
Pakistani woman at US base
LAHORE: The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has demanded that the UN
investigate the alleged detention of a Pakistani national, Dr Afia
Sadeeqi, at a US military base in Afghanistan, BBC Urdu
(
http://www.bbc.co.uk/urdu/pakistan/story/2008/07/080724_aafia_bagram.shtml
) reported on Thursday. It reported that the AHRC fears that Sadeeqi, who
went missing along with her children five years ago from Karachi, is
detained at a US prison in Bagram. Accused of being a member of Al Qaeda
and masterminding terrorist attacks in the US, Dr Sadeeqi is wanted by
several US investigation agencies. Both Pakistani and US intelligence
agencies had confirmed her arrest soon after her disappearance, but since
then, the government has been denying any knowledge of her whereabouts.
Based on information received from various sources, the AHCR has prepared
a report depicting the poor conditions she faces in jail. daily times

Atleast we can start an appeal on this website and then take it from

I contacted Mr Iqbal Haider of Human Rights Commission Pakistan (former PPP leader) and asked him if they are doing something about Dr Afia. He became defensive and straight away said they are “absolutely” doing nothing because matter has been denied by the “State Department”. I always regarded asma Jahangir and iqbal haider very honest ut today he really disappointed me. I am against all forms of extremism and hate talibans but how can you deny the fundamental rights of three children?
He further stated that nothing can be done unless a family member steps forward. Afia’s mother has already died and they have no means of finding a family member?
If it was a caucasian woman same human right champions would try to score highest marks by launching protests. If it is a matter of defaming Pakistan and Islam they again would try to do everything to prove that they are moderates.
This is extremely disappointing and I urge these guys to stop this hypocrisy or else this so called human rights association of Pakistan would become more controversial owing to their stand on missing people.
What I could not figure out was why do we need a family member and what does the denial of state dept mean?

Th women in US Bagram Base is Pakistan’s Afia Siddiqui
http://www.dictatorshipwatch.com/
The Pakistani women locked up at Bagram US Base is Dr. Afia Siddiqui, arrested from Karachi, Pakistan with her children by Pakistani agencies four years ago. According to the following report from Daily Jasarat July 25, 2008, Dr. Afia has lost her senses due to excessive mental torture and the decrepet condition in which she is lockd with male prisoners.
Throughout March 2003 flashes of the particulars of Dr. Afia were telecast with her photo on American TV channels and radios painting her as a dangerous Al Qaeda person needed by the FBI for interrogation. On learning of the FBI campaign against her she went underground in Karachi and remained so till her kidnapping. Her arrest was acknowledged and then she become one of the hundreds on the missing people’s list in Pakistan.
Columnist Ataur Rehman wrote in Nawa-e-Waqt (1 April 2004) that a Pakistani scientist Dr Afia Siddiqi might have been arrested and handed over to the FBI on charges of being a member of Al Qaeda. This would disprove the official claim that no Pakistani would ever be handed over to the FBI.
A few days later after her disappearance in Pakistan an American news channel, NBC, reported that Dr. Afia Siddiqui had been arrested in Pakistan on suspicion of facilitating money transfers for terror networks.
Later, both the Pakistan government as well as US officials in Washington denied any knowledge of Afia’s custody, making her disappearance even more mysterious.—– “Mysterious Cover-up : Afia Siddiqui’s mysterious disappearance leads to speculation about an official cover-up.,” http://www.newsline.com.pk/NewsMay2003/newsbeat3ma
y.htm
Nothing remain ssecret forever. The horrible tales of oppression and torture of these individuals and their families will surface one by one as time goes by. Musharraf and his handlers would be left in history books as the worst ever kind of human rights violators, torturers, liars and tyrants ever existed.

Shame on people who were involved in this. By the way, I’ve seen her photo on US website of Wanted terrorists! I guess Pakistan (Mush) got the reward of $5-$10 million dollars for that. Congrats, WELL DONE!

The issue is not wheather she was a terrorist or not. Issue is what are her rights as a human? How easy it is to accuse somebody and make him/her disappear with three innocent kids without a trial.

Excellent work to highlight this issue. All kudos to the admin. I was thinking for quite a while to bring this topic up on my blog since the joint press conference of Yvonne Ridley and Imran Khan.
Voices need to be raised and lobbying needs to be done for this woman at all levels. This is a purely a humanitarian and women rights issue.

Dear all,
PAKISTAN/USA: A lady doctor is missing with her three children since five years after her arrest
Name of victim: Ms. Dr. Afia Siddiqui and her three children
Block 7, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, Sindh province
The units of the alleged perpetrators: Intelligence agencies of Pakistan and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI-US)
I am shocked to know that Dr. Afia Siddiqui, a Pakistani citizen has been missing with her three children since April 2003, after her arrest by intelligence agencies of Pakistan. The whereabouts of children is also unknown, which is a serious act of negligence on the part of the government with regard to its responsibility to protect the citizen of the Pakistan.
According to the information I have received Dr. Afia was picked-up by Pakistani intelligence agencies while on her way to the airport and initial reports suggested that she was handed over to the American FBI. A few days later an American news channel, NBC, reported that Afia had been arrested in Pakistan on suspicion of facilitating money transfers for terror networks of Osama Bin Laden.
On April 1, 2003, a small news item was published in an Urdu daily with reference to a press conference of then Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat when, in reply to a question regarding the arrest of Dr. Siddiqui, he said she has not been arrested. But in another report the minister for interior said,”You will be astonished to know about the activities of Dr. Afia.” A weekly English magazine in its special coverage on Dr. Afia reported that after one week of the incident, an intelligence agency official, a motor cyclist in plain clothes, came to the house of her mother and warned “We know that you are connected to higher-ups but do not make an issue out of her daughter’s disappearance” and threatened her with dire consequences. After this development the whereabouts of Dr. Afia and her children are yet unknown.
What is also of grave concern to me is that when she was arrested by Pakistani intelligence authorities she was handed over to American intelligence agencies without being tried in Pakistan, I do not find any rationale in sending her along with her children to other country when there are Pakistani laws to deal with the suspected terrorists. It is known that President Musharraf handed over 600 suspected terrorists to America.
There are reports that in Afghanistan’s prison of Bagram there is a woman prison known as Prisoner 650 and that she has been severely tortured. It is also widely suspected that Prisoner 650 is Dr. Afia Siddiqui. This prisoner has reportedly lost her mind due to constant rape and ill treatment.
I remind you that this is the duty of coalition government under Prime Minister Mr. Yousaf Raza Gillani to probe cases of those Pakistani suspected terrorists who have been handed over to foreign forces in the name of war on terror. The government should also inform Pakistani citizens about the whereabouts of Dr. Afia Siddiqui and her children. I also demand that government should also ensure the safety of her children.
Yours sincerely,

All you geniuses who commented above, I just know one thing.
God imposes such a ruler on a nation who is that nations true reflection.
ITS SIMPLE, PAKISTANIS DESERVED RULERS LIKE MUSHARRAF AND ZARDARI. THE MOST HYPOCRITE NATION THAT EVER CRAWLED THE FACE OF THIS EARTH. Almost everyone in the world has a selling price. Since 1947, Pakistanis are on a CLEARANCE SALE. “BUY ONE GET ONE FREE”.
MY ADVICE: Whosoever can , LEAVE PAKISTAN. There is no Pakistan as of 2011. MARK MY WORDS.
July 26th, 2008 at 5:11 am
@Boss
“There is no Pakistan as of 2011. MARK MY WORDS.”
I have been yelling the same for some time but ….
@inqalabi
“I contacted Mr Iqbal Haider of Human Rights Commission Pakistan (former PPP leader) and asked him if they are doing something about Dr Afia. Maybe you ought to send him a link to last night’s Live with Talat and ask him how come this Jewish lawyer is able to do so much without being related to any of the prisoners? The “nothing can be done unless a family member steps forward” is a BOLD-FACED LIE as is “no means of finding a family member”…
July 26th, 2008 at 5:18 am
@inqalabi
And send that b@stard Iqbal haider the following address:
140-E, Block-7, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Karachi
I am sure some of her family members still live there…And her uncle who wrote the leter linked above, S.H. FARUQI, lives in Islamabad and am sure will be easy to trace and be willing to help….
July 26th, 2008 at 5:31 am
how about if we arrange a lawyer for her..we can collect money online..through paypall..? let say 50 to 100 bucks each..or more..
@nota
That b@stard is the son of musharaf kutta..he wont listen to anyone..telling you.

@ Every Pakistani
Sorry to say, NO AMOUNT of A P P E A LS to any SOB WILL HAVE ANY AFFECT. The ONLY & ONLY SOLUTION is as follows;-
Immediate DENTENTION & SEVERE TORTURE of the close & near,MAINLY & ESPECIALLY, THE WOMEN family- members of the the under named people; like, of, their wives, daughters, sisters; etc, etc : -
Pakistan : Musharaf, his former cabinet members,( during his 8 years, illigitemate rule ) the heads & members of the agencies,the Police, the Foreign office, the Interior Ministries, the heads of the three Defence Services,etc; during that period. ( Especially, also, to the families of people like Faisal Saleh Hayat, Aftab Sherpao & others. )
Foreign Govts : The SOBs, BUSH & Dick ( also, a nick name for a man’s tool ) Cheney, the members of their govts, heads & members of their intelligence & military servicies, INCLUDING the the former & present SObs of the Britain, France, Germany & their other European allies, including those of the rulers of the Gulf & the Middle & Far East, who ACTIVELY & silently participated in the Bush ( SOB,s ) War OF,yes. . . . OF Terror against the muslims.
THAT IS THE ONLY ONE SOLUTION, NO SHORT CUTS. Just, TIT FOR TAT. ONLy TORTURE to the women-folk of all those SOBs, named above.
P.S.
1. I think, if I am not wrong, ( please, somebody correct me, if I am ) that probably it was about this unfortunate muslim & Pakistani woman, about whom Yvonne Riddly, ( Correct spelling ? ) & Imran Khan made a joint APPEAL, ( in London recently,) to the CONSIOUSNESS of the world community, to help in releasing this woman.
2. I also think, MOST of your readers know, that Ms Yvonne Riddly is the same woman who entered Afghanistan, without any formal permission, during the Taliban rule, about 10 years back (?) wearng a ‘ BURQAH ‘ but was caught & interned.
3. During that period she was so much IMPRESSED with her humane treatment by the Taliban, that on her return to London, she converted to Islam, VOLUNTARILY !
4. Do you not compare the treatment meted out by the Taliban, to foreign woman, against the treatment to a Muslim & a Pakistani WOMAN, being discussed here ? ARE , or WERE, the two women DIFFERENT ?

Dear all,
A lady doctor is missing with her three children for five years after her alleged arrest by Pakistani/US Intelligence Agencies
Name of victim: Ms. Dr. Afia Siddiqui and her three children missing since April 2003
Block 7, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, Sindh province, Pakistan
The whereabouts of children is also unknown, If she is guilty of any terrorism related offence or any other offence, She should be PUNISHED SURELY but not before producing her in a court of law like any normal humanbeing and producing evidence for her alleged crimes. There are reports that in Afghanistan’s prison of Bagram there is a woman prisoner known as Prisoner 650 and that she has been severely tortured. It is also widely suspected that Prisoner 650 is Dr. Afia Siddiqui. This prisoner has reportedly lost her mind due to constant torture and ill treatment.
In the light of recent media reports, I APPEAL TO all the champions of human rights across the world to come forward and play their role in locating the unfortunate Doctor and her three children. If she is guilty, PUNISH Her but please let us put an end to this misery of her family and her innocent children.
Yours sincerely
Haider Shafqat

@ Boss / nota.
I think, there is a Pakistan, as of 2011. Question ; But which one ? Answer : The one with ( despicable ) MUSHARAF ruling as the CEO/ CMLA / President, & WHAT NOT, during that period !
You all, plz ALsO,mark my ABOVE, words. ‘ Boss ‘ is COMPLETELY RIGHT in stating, that a group of people, ( DO ) deserve a ‘ curse ‘ to rule over them,
( as in Urdu ; ) ‘ Jab Oon Kae Aamal Hee, Waisei Hoan ? ‘
Musharaf did not take over illegal power, at the risk of his life, just to be ‘ SHUNTED OUT ‘ after a few years, & by such nin-com-poops , such as civilian politicans.
He came into power, ONLY & AFTER, proper preparations, by the Pakistani military & by the American CIA, just like his mentor, the goofy-monkey Bush, was PROPELLED INTO POWER, BY the CIA/ the Jewish lobby, in USA.
Everybody knows, Mush has expressed his thoughts / desire on the matter, PUBLICALLY & REPEAT- DLY, that he INTENDS TO STAY IN POWER, ‘ TILL KINGDOM COME ‘ or at least till another . . . . ( DONKEY) years.
Wether we like it or hate it,this despicable person called Mush,has come to stay, BEYOND the ‘ year of our LORD, ‘ i.e ; the year 2011 !

@Everyone
It is people like Boss and many others in our societies who are leveling the grounds…. These are the voices of those zionists and anti-pakistan forces who deliberately wants us to live with a feeling that Pakistan will soon break but they can only dream about this.
We only need 1 good ruler who is “Adil, Munsif and Muttaqi” the rest is all ok in our country.
“zara nam ho to yeh mittee baree zarkhaiz hai saqi”
We are a nation who needs 1 good speech from a 1 good ruler and we transform into a “Seesa pilai deewar” & world has seen it in 1965 & Afghan War.
My dear brothers, sisters & friends please don’t promote this feelings that Pakistan is going to break or get weak.
Please don’t forget that it’s not just the survival of 4 provinces but Pakistan’s survival is the survival of all the Muslim Ummah.
If these Zionists Roll-over Pakistan and our Nuclear Program than they’ll take no more time to roll-over all the middle-east and Muslim countries.
Think,,, what will be your status then.
PS:
Please don’t forget that USA have a law which can abduct any citizen in the name of Terrorism and they’re not even answerable to their own judicial system.
They can come up with another law which can be like “you can abduct any Pakistani or Muslim” and you’re not answerable to the Judicial system.
So, would you like to live in a Country like that? Don’t be so Optimistic.

Many of our brothers and sisters are missing and those who gave us hope, like the Honorable Chief Justice Mr. Iftekhar Chaudhry, have been eliminated from the scene. Only Allah is listening to our screams. Musharraf, his companions and those who are responsible for the agony of thousands of innocent people who are missing, detained or executed without trial would meet the same fate like Saddam and other strong rulers. These people would be alone when they will face the agonizing and painful end…and there will not be a single eye dropping a tear for them….People of Pakistan are long dead…they don’t listen to the screams, they don’t want to hear these sad stories…their own stories are horrifying. The middle class has been turned into poor by brutal increase in prices of fuel, energy and basic commodities…. The Makhdooms, the Zardaris the Shareefs and the Generals are feeling no pain…because their bank balance is increasing, their dollar vault is multiplying their property is expanding…but the poor people of Pakistan are dieing daily…They are selling there children, women are finding horrible ways to run their kitchen, The bribery has become the only solution to meet the daily expenses. Why would any politician think about it…They are here this time for the final looting…and the story would be wrapped for Pakistan…But…we are still sleeping..and just sleeping. Like Zardari and Nawaz Sharif, more leaders would be flying to safe islands and properties they purchased after selling our lives…We would only see…and bear the agonies…which we chose for us…by brining these looters to the rule again!!!! The countdown has begun…just try to listen the final breath of Pakistan…if you have any intellects left!!!
July 26th, 2008 at 10:22 am
@Mansan_2008
You’re right in most cases but Pakistan’s fate cannot be in hands of these loots. Almighty is showing us that we shouldn’t trust any serpent like Zardari and we should take our fate in our own hands and inshallah soon we will.
How?
The ray of light leads us to the Honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.
We should raise our voices and shake the pillars of Zardari house in order to show the backing of our chief justice.
Enough is Enough.

July 26th, 2008 at 3:29 pm
@muryali
I am not supporting any terrorist. Let me explain once more. I am against all forms of extreemism and terrorist activities. But if she is a terrorist then it should be proven in the court of law. where are three children? are they terrorists as well?
this is about basic human rights and i donot blame you for not understanding it (genetical issue)

July 26th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
@A-D-MMI.I-N : Why are you allowing this RETARD to spam the board like this? I’m not supposed to used “bad words” but STUPIDITY is allowed on this board? This IDIOT has been spamming the board with addresses and hundreds of messages which I FIND OFFENSIVE.
Not to mention movies of DOGS FORKING DOGS, CATS etc. Is this the standard now? TK is banned for saying F**K but IDIOTS like these are allowed to roam free?
July 26th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
@inqelabi
You are doing a nice job but don’t target anyone like TK coz everyone have right to give comments or not.

lolz…wearing hijab means she is a terrorist…… it dosn’t make any sense, Terrorists can be on the nudist beach. okalahama bombing, heroshima nuked, indian gujrati muslim genocide by hindus , iraqi and afghani citizens are dieing on their wedding day by 52 bombers and …. to be continue…The humen rights organisation like amnesty international are nothinjg more than a fashion symbol. just look at the past of these organisations they done nothing. rich people join these type of organisation for passing time not to solve world problems.
July 26th, 2008 at 8:31 pm
@peshori boy
Even if amnesty int is a fake in your opinion, I would request you to forward mails to the addresses given above. After living among goras for a while I have discovered that most of them are very nice people and are extremely polite and kind human beings. Remember Vietnam war was finished after a scene of child picturized by a journalist. Do not get dishearted. Who knows?

Almost 40 western countries army are taking part in afghan war its mean whole western civilisation is supporting american crimes and you requesting the same civilisation to help that woman…ahmaqon ki janat mein rahtay ho. Vietnam war finshed becouse US lost 30,000 soldiers life in vietnam gorila war not becouse of that picture which shows US soldiers are chasing 10 years old naked vietnami girl.
July 26th, 2008 at 10:47 pm
@Admin
Why do not you ban TK.
This si not the first time he is using this kind of language.
July 26th, 2008 at 10:49 pm
@peshoriboy-
The correct number of Vietnam deaths for US troops is 57,000.
I do think you are correct when you point out the real reason for the USA leaving Vietnam.
@ Inqilabi- All the world’s E-mails and all the world’s nice people cannot bring Dr. Afiya back till the Politicians in Pakistan will as a group stand up for this. And they will not.
I think you have made a good point- but please remember the persons who are in Guantanamo bay and other places are there just because one country wants then there. They have been there for over 6 years now- and your civilized Westerners have failed to get them an accusation or a trial . I do not wish to sound pessimistic but All your e-mails will do is make yoy feel that you are doing something and that might be good.
July 26th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
@shimotree
please stop being so disappointed and just send the emails. it can help but not doing anything wont help her at all.

I vividly remember the first time I read about her in a newspaper article. I was huanted and horrified to learn about her being tortured.
Mind you, she is an MIT graduate which itself is something few people in this world achieve. And to see what an example we have made of her. I am ashamed of being a Pakistani.
July 26th, 2008 at 11:25 pm

your observation is 100 % correct. here are a few more examples we have made in our history,
