Just imagine where the kids would be?
AHRC ie, The Asian Human Rights Commission demands probe into detention of
Pakistani woman at US base
LAHORE: The Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) has demanded that the UN
investigate the alleged detention of a Pakistani national, Dr Afia
Sadeeqi, at a US military base in Afghanistan, BBC Urdu
(
http://www.bbc.co.uk/urdu/pakistan/story/2008/07/080724_aafia_bagram.shtml
) reported on Thursday. It reported that the AHRC fears that Sadeeqi, who
went missing along with her children five years ago from Karachi, is
detained at a US prison in Bagram. Accused of being a member of Al Qaeda
and masterminding terrorist attacks in the US, Dr Sadeeqi is wanted by
several US investigation agencies. Both Pakistani and US intelligence
agencies had confirmed her arrest soon after her disappearance, but since
then, the government has been denying any knowledge of her whereabouts.
Based on information received from various sources, the AHCR has prepared
a report depicting the poor conditions she faces in jail. daily times
monitor.
Atleast we can start an appeal on this website and then take it from
there.

I contacted Mr Iqbal Haider of Human Rights Commission Pakistan (former PPP leader) and asked him if they are doing something about Dr Afia. He became defensive and straight away said they are “absolutely” doing nothing because matter has been denied by the “State Department”. I always regarded asma Jahangir and iqbal haider very honest ut today he really disappointed me. I am against all forms of extremism and hate talibans but how can you deny the fundamental rights of three children?
He further stated that nothing can be done unless a family member steps forward. Afia’s mother has already died and they have no means of finding a family member?
If it was a caucasian woman same human right champions would try to score highest marks by launching protests. If it is a matter of defaming Pakistan and Islam they again would try to do everything to prove that they are moderates.
This is extremely disappointing and I urge these guys to stop this hypocrisy or else this so called human rights association of Pakistan would become more controversial owing to their stand on missing people.
What I could not figure out was why do we need a family member and what does the denial of state dept mean?

Th women in US Bagram Base is Pakistan’s Afia Siddiqui
http://www.dictatorshipwatch.com/
The Pakistani women locked up at Bagram US Base is Dr. Afia Siddiqui, arrested from Karachi, Pakistan with her children by Pakistani agencies four years ago. According to the following report from Daily Jasarat July 25, 2008, Dr. Afia has lost her senses due to excessive mental torture and the decrepet condition in which she is lockd with male prisoners.
Throughout March 2003 flashes of the particulars of Dr. Afia were telecast with her photo on American TV channels and radios painting her as a dangerous Al Qaeda person needed by the FBI for interrogation. On learning of the FBI campaign against her she went underground in Karachi and remained so till her kidnapping. Her arrest was acknowledged and then she become one of the hundreds on the missing people’s list in Pakistan.
Columnist Ataur Rehman wrote in Nawa-e-Waqt (1 April 2004) that a Pakistani scientist Dr Afia Siddiqi might have been arrested and handed over to the FBI on charges of being a member of Al Qaeda. This would disprove the official claim that no Pakistani would ever be handed over to the FBI.
A few days later after her disappearance in Pakistan an American news channel, NBC, reported that Dr. Afia Siddiqui had been arrested in Pakistan on suspicion of facilitating money transfers for terror networks.
Later, both the Pakistan government as well as US officials in Washington denied any knowledge of Afia’s custody, making her disappearance even more mysterious.—– “Mysterious Cover-up : Afia Siddiqui’s mysterious disappearance leads to speculation about an official cover-up.,” http://www.newsline.com.pk/NewsMay2003/newsbeat3ma
y.htm
Nothing remain ssecret forever. The horrible tales of oppression and torture of these individuals and their families will surface one by one as time goes by. Musharraf and his handlers would be left in history books as the worst ever kind of human rights violators, torturers, liars and tyrants ever existed.

Shame on people who were involved in this. By the way, I’ve seen her photo on US website of Wanted terrorists! I guess Pakistan (Mush) got the reward of $5-$10 million dollars for that. Congrats, WELL DONE!

Excellent work to highlight this issue. All kudos to the admin. I was thinking for quite a while to bring this topic up on my blog since the joint press conference of Yvonne Ridley and Imran Khan.
Voices need to be raised and lobbying needs to be done for this woman at all levels. This is a purely a humanitarian and women rights issue.

Dear all,
PAKISTAN/USA: A lady doctor is missing with her three children since five years after her arrest
Name of victim: Ms. Dr. Afia Siddiqui and her three children
Block 7, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, Sindh province
The units of the alleged perpetrators: Intelligence agencies of Pakistan and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI-US)
I am shocked to know that Dr. Afia Siddiqui, a Pakistani citizen has been missing with her three children since April 2003, after her arrest by intelligence agencies of Pakistan. The whereabouts of children is also unknown, which is a serious act of negligence on the part of the government with regard to its responsibility to protect the citizen of the Pakistan.
According to the information I have received Dr. Afia was picked-up by Pakistani intelligence agencies while on her way to the airport and initial reports suggested that she was handed over to the American FBI. A few days later an American news channel, NBC, reported that Afia had been arrested in Pakistan on suspicion of facilitating money transfers for terror networks of Osama Bin Laden.
On April 1, 2003, a small news item was published in an Urdu daily with reference to a press conference of then Interior Minister Faisal Saleh Hayat when, in reply to a question regarding the arrest of Dr. Siddiqui, he said she has not been arrested. But in another report the minister for interior said,”You will be astonished to know about the activities of Dr. Afia.” A weekly English magazine in its special coverage on Dr. Afia reported that after one week of the incident, an intelligence agency official, a motor cyclist in plain clothes, came to the house of her mother and warned “We know that you are connected to higher-ups but do not make an issue out of her daughter’s disappearance” and threatened her with dire consequences. After this development the whereabouts of Dr. Afia and her children are yet unknown.
What is also of grave concern to me is that when she was arrested by Pakistani intelligence authorities she was handed over to American intelligence agencies without being tried in Pakistan, I do not find any rationale in sending her along with her children to other country when there are Pakistani laws to deal with the suspected terrorists. It is known that President Musharraf handed over 600 suspected terrorists to America.
There are reports that in Afghanistan’s prison of Bagram there is a woman prison known as Prisoner 650 and that she has been severely tortured. It is also widely suspected that Prisoner 650 is Dr. Afia Siddiqui. This prisoner has reportedly lost her mind due to constant rape and ill treatment.
I remind you that this is the duty of coalition government under Prime Minister Mr. Yousaf Raza Gillani to probe cases of those Pakistani suspected terrorists who have been handed over to foreign forces in the name of war on terror. The government should also inform Pakistani citizens about the whereabouts of Dr. Afia Siddiqui and her children. I also demand that government should also ensure the safety of her children.
Yours sincerely,
Please somebody have a look into this website for procedure to submit petition for the same cause .

Amen.
the enemies have locked her with male prisons. what a shame.
no justice on this planet. for instance, if we assume that she funded; does she deserves such a massive punishment..? people of usa voted bush for mass murdering..so they all are guilty? and should be punished the same way?? yes, what if she was a white women. Curse on usa and paki kafir army.
All you geniuses who commented above, I just know one thing.
God imposes such a ruler on a nation who is that nations true reflection.
ITS SIMPLE, PAKISTANIS DESERVED RULERS LIKE MUSHARRAF AND ZARDARI. THE MOST HYPOCRITE NATION THAT EVER CRAWLED THE FACE OF THIS EARTH. Almost everyone in the world has a selling price. Since 1947, Pakistanis are on a CLEARANCE SALE. “BUY ONE GET ONE FREE”.
MY ADVICE: Whosoever can , LEAVE PAKISTAN. There is no Pakistan as of 2011. MARK MY WORDS.
@Boss
“There is no Pakistan as of 2011. MARK MY WORDS.”
I have been yelling the same for some time but ….
@inqalabi
“I contacted Mr Iqbal Haider of Human Rights Commission Pakistan (former PPP leader) and asked him if they are doing something about Dr Afia. Maybe you ought to send him a link to last night’s Live with Talat and ask him how come this Jewish lawyer is able to do so much without being related to any of the prisoners? The “nothing can be done unless a family member steps forward” is a BOLD-FACED LIE as is “no means of finding a family member”…
@inqalabi
And send that b@stard Iqbal haider the following address:
140-E, Block-7, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Karachi
I am sure some of her family members still live there…And her uncle who wrote the leter linked above, S.H. FARUQI, lives in Islamabad and am sure will be easy to trace and be willing to help….
how about if we arrange a lawyer for her..we can collect money online..through paypall..? let say 50 to 100 bucks each..or more..
@nota
That b@stard is the son of musharaf kutta..he wont listen to anyone..telling you.
This is terrifying news.i cant believe it.we dont blame MUSH 4 he follows one simple rule and that is to stick to his KURSI.BUT these westren govts really disappointed me.i am terrified bcoz i live in GLOBLE JUNGLE.
@ Every Pakistani
Sorry to say, NO AMOUNT of A P P E A LS to any SOB WILL HAVE ANY AFFECT. The ONLY & ONLY SOLUTION is as follows;-
Immediate DENTENTION & SEVERE TORTURE of the close & near,MAINLY & ESPECIALLY, THE WOMEN family- members of the the under named people; like, of, their wives, daughters, sisters; etc, etc : -
Pakistan : Musharaf, his former cabinet members,( during his 8 years, illigitemate rule ) the heads & members of the agencies,the Police, the Foreign office, the Interior Ministries, the heads of the three Defence Services,etc; during that period. ( Especially, also, to the families of people like Faisal Saleh Hayat, Aftab Sherpao & others. )
Foreign Govts : The SOBs, BUSH & Dick ( also, a nick name for a man’s tool ) Cheney, the members of their govts, heads & members of their intelligence & military servicies, INCLUDING the the former & present SObs of the Britain, France, Germany & their other European allies, including those of the rulers of the Gulf & the Middle & Far East, who ACTIVELY & silently participated in the Bush ( SOB,s ) War OF,yes. . . . OF Terror against the muslims.
THAT IS THE ONLY ONE SOLUTION, NO SHORT CUTS. Just, TIT FOR TAT. ONLy TORTURE to the women-folk of all those SOBs, named above.
P.S.
1. I think, if I am not wrong, ( please, somebody correct me, if I am ) that probably it was about this unfortunate muslim & Pakistani woman, about whom Yvonne Riddly, ( Correct spelling ? ) & Imran Khan made a joint APPEAL, ( in London recently,) to the CONSIOUSNESS of the world community, to help in releasing this woman.
2. I also think, MOST of your readers know, that Ms Yvonne Riddly is the same woman who entered Afghanistan, without any formal permission, during the Taliban rule, about 10 years back (?) wearng a ‘ BURQAH ‘ but was caught & interned.
3. During that period she was so much IMPRESSED with her humane treatment by the Taliban, that on her return to London, she converted to Islam, VOLUNTARILY !
4. Do you not compare the treatment meted out by the Taliban, to foreign woman, against the treatment to a Muslim & a Pakistani WOMAN, being discussed here ? ARE , or WERE, the two women DIFFERENT ?

Dear all,
A lady doctor is missing with her three children for five years after her alleged arrest by Pakistani/US Intelligence Agencies
Name of victim: Ms. Dr. Afia Siddiqui and her three children missing since April 2003
Block 7, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi, Sindh province, Pakistan
The whereabouts of children is also unknown, If she is guilty of any terrorism related offence or any other offence, She should be PUNISHED SURELY but not before producing her in a court of law like any normal humanbeing and producing evidence for her alleged crimes. There are reports that in Afghanistan’s prison of Bagram there is a woman prisoner known as Prisoner 650 and that she has been severely tortured. It is also widely suspected that Prisoner 650 is Dr. Afia Siddiqui. This prisoner has reportedly lost her mind due to constant torture and ill treatment.
In the light of recent media reports, I APPEAL TO all the champions of human rights across the world to come forward and play their role in locating the unfortunate Doctor and her three children. If she is guilty, PUNISH Her but please let us put an end to this misery of her family and her innocent children.
Yours sincerely
Haider Shafqat
Assalam-u-Alaikum,
mail sent.
Got some failure messages and some are on the holiday. The majority should have received the email.
Also pray to God, anyone who has committed this crim or helped him/her should experience the SEEN JUSTICE in THIS WORLD.
Justice in Aakhrat is not currently any issue.

@ Boss / nota.
I think, there is a Pakistan, as of 2011. Question ; But which one ? Answer : The one with ( despicable ) MUSHARAF ruling as the CEO/ CMLA / President, & WHAT NOT, during that period !
You all, plz ALsO,mark my ABOVE, words. ‘ Boss ‘ is COMPLETELY RIGHT in stating, that a group of people, ( DO ) deserve a ‘ curse ‘ to rule over them,
( as in Urdu ; ) ‘ Jab Oon Kae Aamal Hee, Waisei Hoan ? ‘
Musharaf did not take over illegal power, at the risk of his life, just to be ‘ SHUNTED OUT ‘ after a few years, & by such nin-com-poops , such as civilian politicans.
He came into power, ONLY & AFTER, proper preparations, by the Pakistani military & by the American CIA, just like his mentor, the goofy-monkey Bush, was PROPELLED INTO POWER, BY the CIA/ the Jewish lobby, in USA.
Everybody knows, Mush has expressed his thoughts / desire on the matter, PUBLICALLY & REPEAT- DLY, that he INTENDS TO STAY IN POWER, ‘ TILL KINGDOM COME ‘ or at least till another . . . . ( DONKEY) years.
Wether we like it or hate it,this despicable person called Mush,has come to stay, BEYOND the ‘ year of our LORD, ‘ i.e ; the year 2011 !
@Everyone
It is people like Boss and many others in our societies who are leveling the grounds…. These are the voices of those zionists and anti-pakistan forces who deliberately wants us to live with a feeling that Pakistan will soon break but they can only dream about this.
We only need 1 good ruler who is “Adil, Munsif and Muttaqi” the rest is all ok in our country.
“zara nam ho to yeh mittee baree zarkhaiz hai saqi”
We are a nation who needs 1 good speech from a 1 good ruler and we transform into a “Seesa pilai deewar” & world has seen it in 1965 & Afghan War.
My dear brothers, sisters & friends please don’t promote this feelings that Pakistan is going to break or get weak.
Please don’t forget that it’s not just the survival of 4 provinces but Pakistan’s survival is the survival of all the Muslim Ummah.
If these Zionists Roll-over Pakistan and our Nuclear Program than they’ll take no more time to roll-over all the middle-east and Muslim countries.
Think,,, what will be your status then.
PS:
Please don’t forget that USA have a law which can abduct any citizen in the name of Terrorism and they’re not even answerable to their own judicial system.
They can come up with another law which can be like “you can abduct any Pakistani or Muslim” and you’re not answerable to the Judicial system.
So, would you like to live in a Country like that? Don’t be so Optimistic.
Many of our brothers and sisters are missing and those who gave us hope, like the Honorable Chief Justice Mr. Iftekhar Chaudhry, have been eliminated from the scene. Only Allah is listening to our screams. Musharraf, his companions and those who are responsible for the agony of thousands of innocent people who are missing, detained or executed without trial would meet the same fate like Saddam and other strong rulers. These people would be alone when they will face the agonizing and painful end…and there will not be a single eye dropping a tear for them….People of Pakistan are long dead…they don’t listen to the screams, they don’t want to hear these sad stories…their own stories are horrifying. The middle class has been turned into poor by brutal increase in prices of fuel, energy and basic commodities…. The Makhdooms, the Zardaris the Shareefs and the Generals are feeling no pain…because their bank balance is increasing, their dollar vault is multiplying their property is expanding…but the poor people of Pakistan are dieing daily…They are selling there children, women are finding horrible ways to run their kitchen, The bribery has become the only solution to meet the daily expenses. Why would any politician think about it…They are here this time for the final looting…and the story would be wrapped for Pakistan…But…we are still sleeping..and just sleeping. Like Zardari and Nawaz Sharif, more leaders would be flying to safe islands and properties they purchased after selling our lives…We would only see…and bear the agonies…which we chose for us…by brining these looters to the rule again!!!! The countdown has begun…just try to listen the final breath of Pakistan…if you have any intellects left!!!
@Mansan_2008
You’re right in most cases but Pakistan’s fate cannot be in hands of these loots. Almighty is showing us that we shouldn’t trust any serpent like Zardari and we should take our fate in our own hands and inshallah soon we will.
How?
The ray of light leads us to the Honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry.
We should raise our voices and shake the pillars of Zardari house in order to show the backing of our chief justice.
Enough is Enough.
@boss & Snr citizen

@admin
i protest the foul language of this moran muryali who simply missed the point what was i appealing for ?
@muryali
I am not supporting any terrorist. Let me explain once more. I am against all forms of extreemism and terrorist activities. But if she is a terrorist then it should be proven in the court of law. where are three children? are they terrorists as well?
this is about basic human rights and i donot blame you for not understanding it (genetical issue)
Go and LICK SLEEPINGNATIONS BA!!S YOU GODDAMNED CABBIE!
@A-D-MMI.I-N : Why are you allowing this RETARD to spam the board like this? I’m not supposed to used “bad words” but STUPIDITY is allowed on this board? This IDIOT has been spamming the board with addresses and hundreds of messages which I FIND OFFENSIVE.
Not to mention movies of DOGS FORKING DOGS, CATS etc. Is this the standard now? TK is banned for saying F**K but IDIOTS like these are allowed to roam free?
@inqelabi
You are doing a nice job but don’t target anyone like TK coz everyone have right to give comments or not.
I read first comment of TK , though it was confusing but I considered it in positive sense……….
@TK
thesre is nothing wrong in being a cabbie but for your kind information, I am more educated than all of your family combined. What was I doing in last five years is none of your buisness. Please leave this thread and join your noora kushti with Kafka, Nota and others.
Please. Thanks
THANKS ADMIN FOR SUPPORTING THIS SAD ISSUE,
DEAR BROTHERS AND SISTERS PLS CLOSE UR EYES AND THING IF SHE WOULD BE UR SISTER AND WHAT OUR SISTER MISS RIDDLEY SAID IN HER COLOUMN THAT IS SHOCKING, SAD AND TREBLE.
WE DONT KNOW IF SHE HAD DONE ANYTHING WRONG, SHE IS WELL EDUCATED, IF SHE HAS DONE ANYTHING WRONG THEN THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE COME IN COURTS, I MEAN OPEN COURT NOT INDOOR COURTS.
I APPEAL TO AUTHORITIES TO STRONG PEOPLES TO WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN THEM STRONG VOICES, TO STRONG PERSON, PLEASE HELP THIS LADY.
I PRAY TO ALLAHA WE ALL SHOULD PRAY TO ALLAHA FOR HER REALEASE AND SHOULD PRAY FOR THOSE WHO ARE TRYNING TO HELP HER. MAY ALLAHA FORGIVE HER AND GIVE HER REALEASE. AMEEN
lolz…wearing hijab means she is a terrorist…… it dosn’t make any sense, Terrorists can be on the nudist beach. okalahama bombing, heroshima nuked, indian gujrati muslim genocide by hindus , iraqi and afghani citizens are dieing on their wedding day by 52 bombers and …. to be continue…The humen rights organisation like amnesty international are nothinjg more than a fashion symbol. just look at the past of these organisations they done nothing. rich people join these type of organisation for passing time not to solve world problems.
@peshori boy
Even if amnesty int is a fake in your opinion, I would request you to forward mails to the addresses given above. After living among goras for a while I have discovered that most of them are very nice people and are extremely polite and kind human beings. Remember Vietnam war was finished after a scene of child picturized by a journalist. Do not get dishearted. Who knows?
Jera na munay us nu mola tukhta kuray…..lol
@inqalabi
could you send ur email id on my address zahidmalik@mail.com , so that we can persue this issue in our limitation more effectively.
@inqalabi
Please DONT copy paste the same comment under various posts/topics. You have already done it quite a number of times and its better to avoid this.
Also if you have any complaint, as per article 9 of PkPolitics constitution, u better email it directly to admin.
why not kidnap busharafs first lady..
give him a taste of his medicine..
ne ways …i wonder if he gives a damn for her..
@Iqbal_ke_tarha_soch on July 26th, 2008 9:43 pm
no..i think kidnap is enough,,,,exchange mush’s wife with dr afia….
@inqilabi
Almost 40 western countries army are taking part in afghan war its mean whole western civilisation is supporting american crimes and you requesting the same civilisation to help that woman…ahmaqon ki janat mein rahtay ho. Vietnam war finshed becouse US lost 30,000 soldiers life in vietnam gorila war not becouse of that picture which shows US soldiers are chasing 10 years old naked vietnami girl.
@Admin
Why do not you ban TK.
This si not the first time he is using this kind of language.
@peshoriboy-
The correct number of Vietnam deaths for US troops is 57,000.
I do think you are correct when you point out the real reason for the USA leaving Vietnam.
@ Inqilabi- All the world’s E-mails and all the world’s nice people cannot bring Dr. Afiya back till the Politicians in Pakistan will as a group stand up for this. And they will not.
I think you have made a good point- but please remember the persons who are in Guantanamo bay and other places are there just because one country wants then there. They have been there for over 6 years now- and your civilized Westerners have failed to get them an accusation or a trial . I do not wish to sound pessimistic but All your e-mails will do is make yoy feel that you are doing something and that might be good.
@shimotree
please stop being so disappointed and just send the emails. it can help but not doing anything wont help her at all.
ghalib dil behlanay ko khyal acha hay
I vividly remember the first time I read about her in a newspaper article. I was huanted and horrified to learn about her being tortured.
Mind you, she is an MIT graduate which itself is something few people in this world achieve. And to see what an example we have made of her. I am ashamed of being a Pakistani.
@winter
your observation is 100 % correct. here are a few more examples we have made in our history,
quaid e azam-died in a broken vehicle humiliated by beurocracy.

in contrast look at the indians. they made gandhi maha atma, ad nucl.ear scientist their president .
we have same genetic heritage then why r we so shamefully different.
Wearing Hijaab——-enough proof for being terrorist—–Hmmm
Justice done and she is in a prison and ofcourse 3 children are also terrorists so their disappearence is justified.
If this is what ”Western civic conscientious education” teaches I would prefer to be uneducated.
Truth is…….this is not what ordinary people in the west stands for. It is only some pseudo-modern SICK people stand for who suffer from a disease called ” Superiority complex with grandiose ideation” I have seen such people. Its not their fault…they need treatment being a Psychiatrist I can tell…
Keep up the good work for Dr. Aafia all the above. May be she was involved in terrorism but this has to be proven first.
@drmasood
i feel new energy after reading your comments. however my efforts of compiling all the addresses are futile unless nice and brave people like yourself do send the emails to theses addresses.
please do this jihad bil qalm,
i am thinking of launching a protest in front of amnesty int uk. how many of you can spare time.
you can send an appeal through asian human rights commission
http://www.ahrchk.net/ua/mainfile.php/2008/2947/
When @TK said that “But she’s wearing hijab, which is certain proof for me that she’s a terrorist”
He was actually saying that for US and for ISI only HAJAB is enough to prove some one terrorist.
TK Tanz ker raha tha………
Just keep sending emails and letters, it will only help………..and thnx for all of those who have shared important addressed and email addresses which can be used for many issues facing to our beloved Pakistan.
We might have many differences among us but make sure we have one common thing and that is we all love Pakistan…don’t we.
She is being punished because she is a pakistani women.
wake up you sleeping politicians; a single protest could raise a voice.
No justice on this planet. InshallAllah Chief justice iftakhaar will return and i will write him a letter. He is the last hope for missing pakistanis.

WHO-SO-EVER, you are, plz note, it seems, that you have TAKEN-OVER the SPACE left for other comments. So much so, that a visitor TK , has OPENLY appealed to the admin, to put a stop to all that ‘SPAM ” or ‘ PORK MEAT ‘ to be exact !!
Dont you think one should, oneself ‘ scale down ‘ the moment other people feel that you are getting ‘ ON THEIR NERVES ‘ by repeating the same RHETORIC over & over, again ?

Make sure you do that.

@inqalabi
for protest in London, you need to get the persmission from the concerned autorities first.
After that, it can be advertised to bring mroe and more people.
Also plan if it should be on a weekend (when more people can come but offices will be closed) or weekday (when the offices will be open).
A good article to read:

Those who have suffered and those who keep humanity may only the pain of others. although, will you not include guantanamo’s crime agaisnt humanity as some award?
Please further elaborate your award comment. so that i can take you to other multitudes.
@

these politicians have only learn to cash, this incident will only minus their points to become angrazee tara.
Can we please not criticize inqilabi as he is rightly disturbed over a horrible situation. Getting into arguments shows we are less concerned with the predicament . Come on, its about a defenceless woman whose state has abandoned her and civilised world denies if she ever existed. She needs a lot more ‘inqalabis’.
@ Rehan
I agree
@rehan
none of the political parteies has come up with a policy statement. do you know about medline mccaine.she was a 4 years old british girl kidnapped from a holiday villa in spain last year. i was surprised the way common people here layed flowers in front of her house without interrupting the privacy of parents. common people distributed flyers at airports. a website was established and funds were also raised. legal team was hired and i even saw her poster on an american airport when i went on a holiday and my 1 year old daughter was being searched by the airport security. they took some samples from our shoe soles. why r we treated differently?
because we donot respect ourselves as a nation. even pets here enjoy more rights than people in our country(MUNOO BHAIL STORY)
have a look yourself
http://express.com.pk/epaper/PoPupwindow.aspx?newsID=1100452621&Issue=NP_LHE&Date=20080727
why big political parties havenot come up with any statement about dr afia? why is pakistani media usy in just showing talk shows when bbc is reporting this.
the world expect us to behave like humans but we are frozen in time.
nobody is imagining that it could be any of us.

Hamid Mir doing what an honest journalist ought to do
http://www.jang.com.pk/jang/jul2008-daily/28-07-2008/col5.htm
It really is a war between ‘fascists’ and ‘extremists’.
We should give some credit to media as that encourages their positive efforts. Lawyers also have been leaving their livelihoods to seek justice for all.
God bless all who are supporting Dr Aafia.
@Rehan
The article of Hamid Mir shows that he reads regularly pkpolitic.
He has pointed out that some of fasicst (We know who are they) call
people like Hamid Mir extremist because he and some other
hard working journalist are trying to bring the truth in public.
Hamid Mir keep on. The Pakistani Awam is with you!!!
@asif65
These thugs have no answers to justify their brutal and dictatorial regime. Speak the truth and ask for justice……..This is a recipe for being labelled as a “Mullah without a beard”…………..Same old dirty tactics.
Please sing The Petition for the Release of Dr. Afia Siddiqui & Her 3 Children
To: Un Human Rights, European Court of Human Rights, Amnesty International USA, Islamic Human Rights Commission
http://www.petitiononline.com/af258633/petition.html
Hamid Mir was definately pointing towards some of highly educated intelectuals on this forums.
with F’office denying the presence of Dr. Afia at Bagram base we must ask the next most important question “WHERE IS SHE AND HER CHILDERN”
I am against terrorism like most of the muslims. But upon the violation of Dr. Afia’s basic rights, i would like to protest for her release.
According to bbc urdu, she is a toy for american army there, where they have “no other female”, this news brought tears in my eyes… I AM PRAYING TO ALLAH TO PUNISH THEM IN THE SAME WAY INCLUDING THEIR FAMILIES LIKE MOMS, DAUGHTERS , SISTERS WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS ALL (SPECIALLY OUR INTELIGENCE PEOPLE WHO HANDED OVER THEIR SISTER TO THEM). AAMEEN.
@Junaid. Thanks for posting excellent peace of alternative journalism. I recommend it as well.: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_F29PxYTck on the Afghan resistance.
Now, I don’t know why you would consider reports by human rights organizations tainted since those organizations and the people who work for them try to give coverage to human malaise all over the world.
To deny that USSR was a brutal state where the lives of the citizens of the state and its occupied territories were noting short of miserable minimal existence is just sad. It would sound like some vestigial attempt at apologizing or unsustainale empire based on an unsound system. Russians soldiers are notorious for brutalizing populations. USSR GRU, KGB would make mushbastards ISI look like red cross.
Not only was systemic rape used as a policy in Afghanistan and chechnya (still happening), so was indiscriminate bombing, slaughter and genocide with extreme prejudice.
True in was armies do indulge in criminal activities sometime individualy, other times beause seniors turn a blind eye.. But using such atrocities as an officially validated war tool is done by the worst of us and the most brutal and immoral regimes.
And let me warn you, don’t even try to suggest to any Afghan that the Red army conducted a rule observant restricted warfare. It would be equivalent to saying to a chechen, that you are just trouble makers, Russians are the most benign overlords.
@Rehan Good find. Good article by Hamid Mir:

@ inqalabi ! brother may Allah bless you. this nation needs the people like you. May Allah bless all those people who cares about someone’s sister, mother and daughter.
May Allah help her out, her origin is from hazrat Abu-Bakar Sidique (R.Z.A)’s family, we will have to answer Allah on the day of judgement.
Prisoner 650:
ISLAMABAD: A Pakistani woman has spent the last four years, and remains to this day, in solitary confinement at the United-States run Bagram airbase detention facility in Afghanistan, British journalist and peace activist Yvonne Ridley told reporters on Sunday.
“Today I am crying out for help, not for myself but for a Pakistani woman neither you nor I have ever met. She has been held in isolation by the Americans in Afghanistan and she needs help,” Ridley said.
Ridley said she first learnt about the woman while reading a book by Guantanamo ex-detainee Moazzam Begg. Ridley added that one of the four Arabs who escaped from the Bagram cell in July 2005 also told a television channel that he had heard a woman’s cries and screams in the prison but never saw her. “I call her the Grey Lady of Bagram because she is almost a ghost, a spectre whose cries and screams continue to haunt those who heard her,” she said.
Taliban captured Ridley in September 2001 for entering Afghanistan without legal documents. Ridley was freed after 11-day detention and later embraced Islam in June 2003. Pakstan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan was also present at the occasion. Khan demanded the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government ask the US to provide details of the woman.

While, the villager brutes the Taliban did atleast this:
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AFP) – The Taliban on Tuesday offered to swap women among their 21 South Korean hostages for female Afghan prisoners held on US military bases in Afghanistan…
“If the Afghan government or the Americans agree to free any Afghan women they’ve jailed in (military bases in) Kandahar or Bagram, we’ll free the same number of female hostages,” Taliban spokesman Yousuf Ahmadi told AFP.
“We’re ready for such a deal. We don’t know how many women are in Bagram and Kandahar,” he said by phone from an unknown location.

I think the link i gave you above should be considerable to that measurable extent that those interviewers are afghans who are depicting the factful figures and clearly speaking how one army was better as compare to the other.
i dont want to divert topic to any other dimension, cause i know there are ups and downs and red army wasnt farishtas at all, same goes to savage american army who is torturing an isolated women for 6 years. what goes around comes around.
so thats what we do to people who return after getting higher education to serve pakistan.
well qadeer khan is the other example.
Dr Afia is not in Bagram jail..

they are deceiving. either they have tortured her to death or the paki govt is again deceiving like they have been provoking lies about other missing persons that we dont know about them. lets wait for the reinstatement of cheif justice; he shall plug out the facts from their throats.
ok, if she is not in bagram then where is she?
it cannot be denied that she was arrested by inteligence agencies? isn’t it?
this question should be asked from interior ministery and ISI.
What did ISI do with the children?

@peshori boy
I just sent the following email to senator SM Zafar on his email address
mnz@nexlinx.net.pk
could all of you send him more emails please.
Dear Senator Zafar,I read this article http://www.voanews.com/urdu/2008-07-28-voa5.cfm where you have asked the foreign ministery about the lady. Could you ask interior ministery first because they are the one who kidnaped her. Does your statement imply that you have already asked them and they have confirmed that they handed her over to US.Please clarify?Thanks
Where are the grandparents of the kids and why have they not made any protest? From what I know of this case, the ex-husband of Dr. Siddiqui comes from a well connected and wealthy family. It is just very strange that the grandparents or father have not protested. All the noise chatter we hear of is coming from elsewhere.
My own guess is that, the ex-husband or family had Dr. Siddiqui killed and took the children away. Call it insane, but it happens and if someone is wealthy/well connected in Pakistan, this is not out of their reach. It is highly unlikely, the Americans have her in custody. Of course, you all can assume whatever you may and let your emotions get the best of understanding the reality. if the Americans did have her, they would not be shy in parading her.
But of course, you can go about and believe whatever you may.

“Dr Afia is not in Bagram jail.”
Oh right! Since “VOA” is reporting that “our foreign ministry” is satisfied by the assurances by the “US and Afghan governments” it must be true — NOT!!!
But even in this denial I see no denying by them that they don’t have her….
By the way here’s more on journalst Nayyar Zaidi’s disappearance.
(Is Daily Times trying to justify his incarceration by suggesting that since “there is a history to this story” — a history of intimidation/harrassment by the FBI — that it was some how to be expected?)
nota,
You may want to check the facts about Nayyar Zaidi. He was arrested for other reasons and nothing related to the article in Daily Times. It is reported that Mr. Zaidi was arrested for trying to have sex with a 13 year old girl!
A federal grand jury will hear the case of a Virginia man who authorities say traveled to Ohio to have sex with whom he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.
Irshad Salim, in his Blog, OscarTango shared the these facts of the case:
“The FBI Internet Crimes Against Children task force arrested Syed Haider Kar Zaidi, 64, of Woodbridge, Va., last week. Zaidi traveled from his home to Jackson Township to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex after communicating online with a law-enforcement officer posing as the girl’s mother, according to a complaint filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
Zaidi also faces state charges of attempted unlawful sex with a minor, attempted child endangering, attempted illegal use of a minor for sex performance and importuning, jail records show.
Defense attorney Jeffrey Haupt said it is likely that the state charges will be dismissed as the federal case proceeds.”
The above was dated March 27th, 2008, reported by the CantonRep.com, an online newspaper from Ohio. Do a little research and you can get the facts on this case.
Very sad and painful to read stories like this. I am sure now, Pakistanis will accuse all this has a conspiracy by the Americans!
Shame on Daily Times for spreading lies and shame on all who believe in them. Get to now the facts before jumping to conclusions!
Regards
@Tariq
“My own guess is that, the ex-husband or family had Dr. Siddiqui killed and took the children away”
Is this what you would do to your ex-wife to take your kids away. I seriously doubt so and I also do not want to put such serious allegation on some one else.
In the same habit you have brought some ‘facts’ from a ‘blog’ pertaining to a person with similar surname as Nayyar Zaidi. Again there would be many criminals which would share your surname and that does not make you guilty of all those crimes.
Please be more positive in your outlook.
@ Rehan,
I appreciate your concern for my outlook in life. What I stated was the reality we have in Pakistan. Maybe we all can turn the blind eye to what transpires. This happens all the time all over the world, whether we like to accept this or not.
As to Mr. Zaidi, please do some research and come to your own conclusions. I presented some very basic facts that are spreading on the Internet.
You bring up an important point of allegations. Just keep in mind that, all we here are just allegations about Dr. Siddiqui and now Mr. Zaidi.
Are we to believe that the Americans are just out to get us?
I do appreciate your concern and thank you for your reminder.
Regards
Tariq, firstly thanks for your mature response.
While I dont agree Americans are out to get us, they are certainly like a bureaucrat who wants to think noble but absolutely abhores the kacchi abadis and sweaty people. Americans are obsessed with luxury and security and would destroy every biped community if that was to challenge their dream. The problem becomes when common folk and extremists want to live as fellows rather than serfs. Until we see US dream of global dominance watered down or unless the commoners/extremists are forced to toil for survival, there is bound to be a world full of bangs we keep witnessing in Afganistan, Pakistan, India, Iraq, Turkey and so on.
If you abhore extremists as we all do, thats not a solution to eliminate them as we all remember there werent any in Iraq to start with.
@Tariq
“Get to now the facts before jumping to conclusions!”
Strange the above comes from someone who in the same breath states “My own guess is that, the ex-husband or family had Dr. Siddiqui killed and took the children away. Call it insane…”
Not only will I call it insane but a totally ridiculous “guess”. Take a pill of your old medicine.
As for Nayyar, we will find out the truth soon enough. Right now I am certain FBI was after him since at least early 2002, much before the alleged incident. The OscarTango report is based on non-existing reportpress.com and the following from CantonRep:
MASSILLON
ARREST Syed Haider Kar Zaidi, 64, of Woodbridge, Va., was arrested Thursday by the FBI Internet Crimes Against Children task force on felony charges of attempted unlawful sex with a minor, attempted children endangering, attempted illegal use of a minor for sex performance and importuning, jail records show. Police said Zaidi traveled from his home to Damon’s at 4220 Belden Village St. NW in Jackson Township, expecting to meet a 13-year-old girl for sex. FBI agents and Massillon and Jackson Township police arrested him. Among his interests was the production of child pornography, records show. He is the 98th person arrested by the FBI task force.
We will find out more in the days to come. But it does not take away the fact that his involvement with FBI is a lot older than the “entrapment” that followed….
@nota
I appreciate your research skills and logical approach to almost every issue. However I would personally not like to even respond to this guy called Tariq because all he is trying to achieve is to muddle the facts and involve people like yourself in fruitless discussions. This is not the time to win any debate with this Mr no one who definitely lacks something in his upbringing and trying to distance himself from his ethnic origin but these people are like mules who are neither horses nor donkeys.
Let us channelize our efforts to something productive. We know what each of us is good at. Let us use our skills to promote the missing people issue.
It is like relay race. Effort of each man counts.
aankh ojhal,pahar ojhal.
So just sweep this dirt under the carpet and let our conscious sleep.
Pakistanis are scums of the earth and I mean it.
You will realize when very soon you would be paying the price.
Soon it will be your turn buddies.

http://express.com.pk/epaper/PoPupwindow.aspx?newsID=1100455298&Issue=NP_LHE&Date=20080731
Dr. Afia Siddiqui, was arrested along with her three children by a Pakistani intelligence agency in early 2003 and has been missing since then.
At the time of her arrest she was 30 years and the mother of three sons the oldest of which was four and the youngest only one month.
Few days later an American news channel, NBC, reported that Afia had been arrested in Pakistan on suspicion of facilitating money transfers for terror networks of Osama Bin Laden. The mother of the victim, Mrs. Ismat (who has since passed away) termed the NBC report absurd. She went on to say that Dr. Afia is a neurological scientist and has been living with her husband, Amjad, in the USA for several years.
Whilst Dr. Afia’s whereabouts remain unknown, there are reports of a woman called ‘Prisoner 650′ is being detained in Afghanistan’ s Bagram prison and that she has been tortured to the point where she has lost her mind. Britain’s Lord Nazeer Ahmed, (of the House of Lords), asked questions in the House about the condition of Prisoner 650 who, according to him is physically tortured and continuously raped by the officers at prison. Lord Nazeer has also submitted that Prisoner 650 has no separate toilet facilities and has to attend to her bathing and movements in full view of the other prisoners.
Also, on July 6, 2008 a British journalist, Yvonne Ridley, called for help for a Pakistani woman she believes has been held in isolation by the Americans in their Bagram detention centre in Afghanistan, for over four years. “I call her the ‘grey lady’ because she is almost a ghost, a spectre whose cries and screams continues to haunt those who heard her,” Ms Ridley said at a press conference.
Dr. Afia Siddiqui, who studied at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, US, for about 10 years and did her PhD in genetics, returned to Pakistan in 2002. Having failed to get a suitable job, she again visited the US on a valid visa in February 2003 to search for a job and to submit an application to the US immigration authorities. She moved there freely and came back to Karachi by the end of February 2003, on March 30, 2003 Dr. Afia had been picked-up by Pakistani intelligence agencies.
To date, neither the American nor the Pakistani government have come out about the arrest and detention of Dr. Afia in either Bagram or Guantanamo Bay where suspected terrorists are held.
In these five years her mother died struggling for her… She has no brother?
But what about the Pakistani Nation? Where are her Muslim Pakistani Brothers?
She used to wear scarf, offers five times prayer and now she is getting raped each day by officers. This is all written in a book “Enemy Combatant”, by a former Guantanamo detainee, Moazzam Begg.
Please write to the relevant authorities and request them to investigate immediately. Dr. Afia’s whereabouts must be confirmed and the safety of her children assured. Regardless of whether Dr. Afia is Prisoner 650 or not the fact is that she has been missing, along with her children for five years. The governments of the USA and Pakistan at first confirmed her arrest and then denied it. Both governments have a duty to report any information they might have on the matter.
@Arab khan
thanks for repeating what has been told 100 times. Have you actually sent emails to the addresses above or have done your bit by cutting and pasting this from somewhere.
just to update everybody on our national character.
No one, yes no one has confirmed me on the email given above that he would be attending the protest so it has to be cancelled. Only one kindly sent me an email showing some intentions.

-I am heading to MiranShah to condemn the news and the brutal murder mentioned in the above post. Are you comming to MiranShah with me ja*k ass?
-Fix your country men first. respect your women first then you can point fingures at others.
we are nuts
the incident you quoted is condemned and is very very sad. talibans are barbaric regimen frozen in time and this militancy should be uprooted once and for all.
I wish I could go with you to Miran shah. You have completely missed the whole point. I am saying that Dr Afia should be prosecuted and if guilty should be punished. However in any case the children should be released. It is about basic human rights. You have called me jack ass but this issue is related to human rights and you wont be able to understand it. This proves who is jack and who is ass.
@we r nuts
-Fix your country men first. respect your women first then you can point fingures at others.
Dr Fozia was Pakistani and the woman you quoted was afghan(although to me this does not make her any less human)
now I donot know what do you mean by”fix your home and respect your women first”
You are really nuts with no nutts.
@inqalabi
Cut the bull man- This thing is being used by every Javed Chaudhary and Hamid Mir in Pakistan to score points as if morality is sitting in their fr*king moustaches. It’s being used by media to play the “Americans are white killers…” card. It’s being used by the religious nut jobs to prepare more suicide bombers. The issue is being used to every effect by every nut job to advance his or her agenda. The real agenda of getting Dr Afia and her kids out, which in effect should be done by the Govt. of Pakistan and/or HRCP is not being discussed with facts and realities. I saw some bull crap today on Hamid Mir’s show after a week of this story to get a lady to present some real facts about this story.
You are calling me a nut? A Pakistani woman and her kids allegedly kept under detention in Afghanistan by US. OK;
An Afghani woman allegedly killed in day light by barbarians in North Western Pakistan. Dr Afia is still alive (hopefully), while this woman is dead. You don’t see any Human Rights issues here? You claim to be from Pakistan and you allow an Afghani woman to be killed by Pakistanis and there is no mention of it except on the 15th page of an English newspaper? Human Rights start at home! You fix your home, you fix your people, nobody dare touches you. You can claim the upper moral ground.
I agree with nuts guy. Problem is that we all have been turned into robots programmed to follow orders. While doing so we kill people torture them and when our local controllers are controlled by foriegn powers then we start screaming for our rights.
This pathetic routine led thouands against Imam Hussain centuries ago. We are ROBOTS following orders shooting innocent people.
listen you son of a nut jerk
what about thousands of women and children killed by US carpet bombings under hidden capital punishment?? Few weeks ago they killed tons of people at a weddin ceremony in afghanistan. They even targettally killed the bride her friends.
http://www.aljazeera.com/news/newsfull.php?newid=140697
@Inqalabi,
Amazing effort on your part. I really praise. As long as people like you are alive, we still have a World to live in. Please let me know if you have any plans to stage a protest. Although I in Stoke, but i will try my best to come.
I have started a chain email of all the above addresses and the example letter you wrote earlier above, so hopefully thousands of people will send them emails.
But then again, these are just emails! Wish we had leaders like Israel where Sharon was willing to trade 435 security prisoners and the bodies of 59 Lebanese combatants for the bodies of three Israeli soldiers and an Israeli civilian, a drug dealer !!! Bravo to their leaders and GodDamn ours.
