This would have been very funny had they not used audio from AAJ’s coverage of 2nd explosion on October 18, 2007 in Karachi that resulted in at least 139 deaths and 450 injuries.

  • Taimur said:

    LOFL………………………..Dogar!

  • Democracy said:

I agree with ataraxis. I think that audio should be removed. It was a huge tragedy for Pakistan and many many lives for lost. No problem with the visuals. But please remove the audio it actually brings back haunting and sad memories of a terrible night in our country. Some of us were desperately looking for friends and loved ones and praying that they were alive.

Again, visual is what it is!

He is Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman. But, what ever ! We should show some respect for our elders. I feel sorry , when I read comments from all viewers except few exceptions.
We can only earn respect by given the same to others.May! Allah Bless us All.

  • SherryShamsi said:

He is definately Dr. Ata ur Rehman, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Chairman. and Respect to elders?? he is stupid who is running his businesses by using HEC Pakistan. He is imported by dictator like others fools, who stabed country in back. Govt. is getting rid of Naseem Ashraf, I think he should be kicked first.

  • Jamhooriat said:

    @faquir sharif
We respect these Bast@rds as much as they respect the constitution, rule of law and the people. If they don’t respect constitution, they deserve more humiliation than what they are getting now.

  • saqeme said:

@SherryShamsi …its a shame that you used such language for Dr. Ata, wots with all of us,,we hear some rumor and start propagating it without using our mind. Dr. ata is certainly the most respactable scientist pakistan ever had. do u even know his sceintfic contributions. its ppl like Dr. ata who are bringing any good name to our country..and its ppl like you who are illuterate, jahil, mind shitters who do nothin for themselves or for anybody else and only bark. Dont bark ven you know No SHIT.
I only wish you know wot he has done for pakistan in previous years. he is an asspiration for serious and mukhlis pakistanis. May Allah protect him from sick MFs like yourself.

  • saqeme said:

    @nota……
I wonder wot such a little property issue prove,,do u even know that a 10 marla house or piece of land in some reasonable area in cities like islamabad and lahore costs 1 crore. Why cant dr. atta has 1 crore to buy a piece of land….such issues of bounced check happens all the time. Besides in this perticular issue,,your brother seems like a holy cow to me,, since he is the one who broke the deal by not accepting the money, and instead also kept the biyana.
Noetheless, please such small things doesnt prove anything. bring some solid evidense abt his corruption. I am optimistic and can see the huge change happening in higher education just because of his policies and fairness. I can see for the first time, the number of highly skilled and educated persons increasing in pakistan, I can see for the first time,so many quality universities being opened for the first time in paksitan, I can see THE CHANGE.
I wish instead of letting corrupt politicians loot all the money ,,we should accept giving all that money to persons like him, who are burning their blood for the betterment of this country.

Please dont try to infer extraordinary out of very ordinary things.
Save that one crore issue for some other time. And try to do some thing positive for your country.

“since he is the one who broke the deal by not accepting the money, and instead also kept the biyana.”

Assuming again aren’t we? This is from three years back when property prices were not that high. Would you want to carry over a crore in cash around town? I seriously doubt it (and if you answer “Yes!” you are lying!). By the way no one pays that much amount in cash unless one does not want the transaction traced back to him (and no the property was not going to be in Atta’s name) The “biyana” check was deposited much before the “deal” fell through. And remember “biyana” was NEVER paid as the check bounced. So who was really breaking the deal?

“I wish instead of letting corrupt politicians loot all the money ,,we should accept giving all that money to persons like him…”

Looting by corrupt politicians or corrupt bureaucrats is ONE AND THE SAME. It’s called LOOTING!!! :) Don’t go making gods out of p!gs please!!!

  • saqeme said:

@nota….. lol..well wot can I say ven u have made up your mind on hear say of your brother. By the way Dr. atta is not a bureaucrat..he is a truly desrving candidate to be a minister of science and technology or HEC. He is doing so many good reforms for the country and that u cant see, but u have to made ur mind over 1 crore plot issue. get a break…

Moreover, there are many back stabbers and Dalley in govt. or HEC, who are totally against putting any money on poor youth , they are all the time lookin for some blame to put on dr. atta in order to get him out of the way. so i think it was very wise of him not to put any transaction in his name, since then right now you would have been sayin,,”Dr. atta bought a 1 crore plot out of HEC funds,,I can send you the check he paid to my brother,,so much for your holy cow….”

The thing is ..he can very well afford to buy 1 crore, and this is his halal ki kamaee. he held key posts for sereal year both in education and govt. sector. He has manyx international resarch fundings available to him, who pay him for the reasearch, he runs many well known research centers in pak, that have an international name and many collaborations. he is in the board of governers of many univesities and obviously get paid well. Now all that is totally justifiable in my view, since he earned it,..and did not loot it.

AND I am not making him god, he may be wrong on few things, but one should appreciate wot he has done. I am just being a bit rational and unbiased abt this issue. His contributions are too valuable to worry abt such little things.

Right! Hilal as a Zabiyah p!g

“there are many back stabbers and Dalley in govt. or HEC”
I would suggest you read up some of Dr. Pervaiz Hoodbhoy pieces on your god(here’s one example, here’s another). He is hardly a back-stabber as he is stabbing from the front. And I hope you don’t skip over the “Quranization Of Science Courses at the M.Sc level” bit :)

“he is in the board of governers of many univesities and obviously get paid well.”
If that is not looting, nothing is…

“he runs many well known research centers in pak”
There are NO well-known research centers in Pakistan, I am sorry to say. But I am sure you believe that in your fantasy world….
    :)

But you can go on believing what ever sh!t you choose….

It is really funny to read the comments above after a day’s work in office. They are even better than reading a comic book.
I have one simple question… if a minister or a high level beauraucrat is earning in millions (regardless if it is his legal salary or under the table) when a common man in the same country is dying of hunger, can you call this “halal ki kamai” ???
Personally it is 100% haram ki kamai any way you look at it. And If this is halal, I dont want to be a part of such Islam and such hypocrite country.

If you don’t believe in Hala ki kamai, just think on the logical terms. If you work hard to achieve something, you definitely deserve more than the one who didn’t work hard and wasted his precious time on useless things. In Pakistan education is the cheapest thing. Anyone can afford education comparing with US, UK or other countries. Despite all these facilities if you dont want to go to school and instead want same privileges which educated, talented and hard working class have, then you are not justified.

Thanks for sharing Prof. Hoodbhoy’s articles. Can you (or some) please also share the full interactions of HEC and Prof. Hoodbhoy.

Many people really believe Atta as a holy cow and hero, I think both Dr. Atta and Prof. Hoodbhoy should be invited to some good talk show for discussion on higher education and research which is one of the important issue of Pakistan.

  • M. Rehman said:

    @ Boss
Agreen with you. Islam does not allow this. Islam teaches social and moral values and the huge difference between salaries is simply against these teachings.

    @Shahabj
Moral and social values cannot be rejected or accepted using logic.
Such differences are the example of capitalism where richer is getting richer. Take an example of health insurance. I have heard in USA a big part of population cannot even afford health insurance which is considered a very basic commodity in Europe. In western or central europe nearly everyone has health insurance because of welfare system. In Germany, a university professor is roughly earning 5000 euro a month while a sweeper might be earning 1500 euro. So, not that big difference, in 1500 euro he or she can even go to vacation to other country every year. But in Pakistan a sweeper earns 3000/4000 and a normal university professor certainly earns 15 to 20 times more than that sweeper. And many are even earning 100 times more.
    This is simply social injustice.

  • Pinkie said:

READ this carefully! This is Mushtak….See how God has punished him for cheating his own lawyers fraternity for musharafs wealth!!!!SHAME!

The guy whose pants fell off is Justice Retired Choudhry Mushtak Ahmed Khan,Ex judge of the high court ,senior counsel supreme court of pakistan and the prosecutor general government of punjab…it is further informed that he is the ONE who for the sake of pleasing Musharaff submitted a false affidavit against our beloved CJ iftikhar mohammad choudhry in the Supreme court when the full court headed by Justice Ramday was hearing the reference filed by musharaff.

He used to claim himself a die hard PPP leader and supporter however for the sake of personal gains he never hesitated to switch loyalties as and when it pleased him.

During the musharaf days ……he made money and rolled in wealth and for that Base end he used every trick in his bag to enrich his accounts…

Shame on the Him….serves him right!

It seems very clear that you know absolutely nothing about dr. Atta-ur-Rehman. But for your kind information, he belongs to one of the richest industrialist family in Pakistan, but he is still a self made man. Despite being such a rich person, he supported his own education and got a PhD from cambridge. I will not even go in detail of his accomplishments during his tenure as minister and as chairman HEC. If you had anything to do with acedemia you would have known, infact you wouldnt have uttered a word against him.

What saddens me here, is that we never hesitate to bash the real people of Pakistan who actually accomplish something for their country. We bash Dr. Qadeer, we bash Dr. Samar, we bash Dr. Atta… but we love shameless pathetic policticians of which most of them are “angootha chaap”. No wonder we are being treated the way world is treating us. Now I believe in justice of Allah. A nation like this deserves wot it is getting.
