According to The News, “The World Bank has categorically refused to fund water and power projects in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and the Northern Areas (NAs), including the Diamer-Bhasha Dam”
“The bank’s refusal to provide funds has virtually endangered the practicability of the Bhasha Dam on whose feasibility and technical reports huge amounts have already been spent since 2006,” sources privy to a high-level meeting said.
On top of that two IPPs (Hubco and Uch) have threatened to switch off power because of the government not paying arrears of Rs.66 Billion and have threatened to “encash their guarantees”
World Bank will only fund thermal power, I think. Hydro Power is cheap and WB and IMF don’t want Pakistan to be independant of them.
It means more Electricity Crisis in the country and more load shedding…
WB kenw most of the funding will be transferred to AZ, NS, PM accounts overseas, so they decided to not to give this gift to the people of pakistan.

who really believes under this current set up they will make a dam. why do they need funding from world bank, mr 10% and co have enough money why don’t the ruling coalition build it. god knows they have taken enough from this country.

They have taken enough money from the Nation. They want to invest stolen money in foreign countries, in Real Estate and Steel Mills.

Pakistan needs QUALIFIED, EFFICIENT HONEST and PATRIOTIC LEADERS, not CORRUPT and not NOR and not PCO Beneficiaries, who have come back. Most of them are the same WOLVES, who have COME BACK in SHEEP skins — Isn’t it the same HERD of POLITICIANS over and over again?
