Atypical lawyers discussion on legality. We should not criticize Mr. Peerzada. As he did not protect Musharraf. Moreover, a lawyer has the right to protect his client. Moreover Mr.Peerzada won the argument in which Justice Wajhi said that Iftekhar M Chaudary was also unconstitutional judge. Much appreciated.

Abdul Hafeez Pirzada is very respectable person. His answers might annoy many people, but he talks from factual position, not from idealistic situation.

Abdul Hafeez Pirzada is wicked man. He is a man known for twisting words and hiding behind dubious logic, which is hard to understand for a common man. He does NOT deserve respect from Pakistanis.

  • shimatoree said:

    @ Shirkuh

Abdula Hafeez peerzada defended ZAB in his criminal trial for murder of Nawab Ahmad Kahn Qasuri. He is a very capable LAWYER and perhaps the likes of you might might start to be a little objaective and civil and democratic. He is a very capable Lawyer- and you should refrain from making comments which are only your opinions.

Off course I write MY opinion. What else did you expect?

Yes, Abdul Hafeez Peerzada is a capable man with a lot of insight in Pakistan law, but he is a crook just like the other law expert Sharifuddin Peerzada. Both are eager to defend traitors/dictators for money. For me it is just like being a helper of a rapist.

  • SnrCtzn said:

    @ Shimatoree / Shirkuh

Is it just a coincidence or otherwise, that : -

    1. Both are HIGHLY paid lawyers ?

    2. Both are capable men, in their own right ?

    3. Both have in the past, ‘ eagerly ‘ defended traitors / dictators in the past, & ARE NOW TOO EAGER to do so again, because they can thus get a HEFTY PURSE from the RULER, with no questions asked ?

    4. With that comes POWER also, which FLOWS DOWN from the RULER ?

    5. Lastly . . .both highly capable lawyers happen to be. . . . ZADAS . . . whether . . . . HALAL . . .ZADAS. . . . OR . . . .anything else ?

( Somebody should please TRY & FIND OUT a family link or common background between the two ZADAS. YOU NEVER KNOW, there MAYBE many things COMMON ?

One common point for instance, could be that they live in, & have practiced LAW in Karachi.

Hafeez . . . .zada once stated in a Tv interview that he belonged to Interior Sindh.

    And Shareefuddin . . . .Zada belongs to . . . .? Worth finding ou

Abdul Hafiz Pirzada has hurt the feelings of whole nation .He has tried to prove an illegal (Bastard) rule of law or happening into a legal or legimate rule of necessity .Hafiz Pirzada has failed to project his feelings and degraded himself .Pirzada ,probably is showing/reflecting the opinion of Sharif ud din Pirzada .More over , showed his loyalty to Defecto president .All credit goes to honourable (retired) chief justice of Pakistan, Mr. Wajih ud Din against whom Pirzada was feeling very uncomfortable. Mr.Wajih ud din is an honest and overall a PAKISTANI .

Being a neutral, I think AH Pirzada’s comments carry more weight legally. He is experienced and well informed lawyer. Sorry to say but Justice R wajeehuddin was getting emotional without any valid stuff.

  • Claremont said:

If we want rule of law then we must respect it enforce it. The law is for all. People voted for the rule of law not the law to rule. Law does not favour nor personalities. Majority of the nation is ignorant of that is why they fail to understand the importence of unbiased judiciary. Mr Pirzada presented his argument with the meaning of the pakistan constiuitionand refrained and rightly refraned from a speculative verdict. Even Wajihudin acknowledged the interpretaion of constituitional legality. It is extremely unfortunate that most of the contributors to comment have used such a foul and demeaning language that reflects their ignorance and are responsible for the state we are in. They do not know the meaning of democracy and the respect of law. Our nation needs education and lots of it.

Protect Pakistan from the invadors. Throw them out.

  • syed1508 said:

Our problem as Pakis that we do not respect each other and can not tolerate other views, even though they are correct. Mr.Hafiz Pirzada is well known and qualified person. His views are correct in the l;ine of legal framework. Because of this attitude, Pakistani has no respect in muslim countries as well as in Europe and N America.

We should change our mentality and come out from provincialism. Our country will not go forward until we show tolerence and respect for each other.

Otherwise we have seen the result of our larger part East Pakistan, now Bengladesh.

    Please thing over it.

All professional get paid for their service. Physicians get paid for their services. Mechanics get paid for their work on your car. They do not ask you what lousy rinky dink car you have or if you have been changing the oil or sprk plugs. They fix the problems you have and they get paid for that.

So do the lawyers- good and bad. They defend murderers, thieves, rapists and other criminals . Everyone is innocent untill proven guilty.
Regardless what his name is- Sharifuddin Pirzada is a very capable lawyer. He defends who ever hires him. I do not know if Musharraf has hired him but I do know that the chief justice of the supreme court Iftikhar Mohammad Choudhry asked him to be AMICUS CURIE -( advisor)- to the supreme court . Now just because he is defending Musharraf- it is not proper to blame him for expressing his expert opinion-( and he IS the EXPERT-legaly)-

Some of the comments above appear to be totaly devoid of common sense, civility, decency even though those writers claim to be tooting their horns for democracy and rule of LAW.
The old saying is CHARITY begins at HOME-

    so I would like to suggest to @Shirkuh -@ Rough Idea , @ Mian3000 , @ taimur and @ Qazi -

if you’all are such great admirers of rule of Law and Democracy- please start by providing a little- yes just a littledemocracy in your own comments. If you do not like Pirzada- you can say that but I do not think it gives you the right to the use of abusive language or calling names or some such stuff.
All that does is to expose your own prejudice.

But then perhaps this web log is a place for cathrsis for your souls and that is why you spill your vitriol and black bile in this manner.

I have just one request from all of you- Do be DEMOCRATIC and in a democracy everyone has the right to a good lawyer and everyone is innocent untill proven guilty. And since NONE of you have either the stature or the education in LAW that Pirzada has- your comments are without foundation and without merit.

  • Taimur said:

Okay Hafeez Pirzada is INDIRECTLY supporting musharraf , believe it or not! This old dude is acting funny. Old dude was smiling when Justice said that it’s musharraf’s gang (i.e. dogar). What’s so FUNNY? Please explain that…as I said before…yeh sathya gaya hai! Dimagh iss ka kaam nahi karta! Ahsan Zafar is a prime example.

  • shimatoree said:

The one thing that should scare the day light out of everyone who is supporting Musharraf’s impeachment-

Your Lawyer is Farook Naik( Law Minister) and let us suppose Shariffudin Pirzada is Musharraf’s lawyer-

guess who has the better lawyer.

And if Dogar is the CJ

    You can guess the rest

  • mangotango said:

honestly I feel *****zada was not able to support his argument as he generally does in his strong positions. Hats up to Justice Wajeeh!!!!!!

    @shimatoree and all har@mzada’s sympathizers

how come this sharifuddeen hzada only serves military dictators and never appear as a lawyer of democratic forces. You know the reason, the fees he charges is so huge that only military govt can afford to pay from tax payers money and any democratic govt cannot go back to the people to justify this expense.

One guy mention about this abdulhafeez hzada that he the one who crafted 1973 constitution. Yes he is right but can you also mention who started r@ping it hours after its adoption in 1973 because within hours he was crafting amendments to clip the powers of the judiciary.

LISTEN GUYS; ONE IS A JUDGE WHO IS COMMITED AND HAS PROVEN HIS COMMITMENT BY NOT TAKING OATH ON PCO AND WALKED OUT OF THE SUPREME COURT AND OTHER IS A LAWYER AND COUNCIL FOR MUSH———— HE IS DEFINITLY LOOKING FOR LOOPHOLES AND WILL BE SUPPORTIVE OF HIS CLIENT.

  • QAZI said:

    @shimatoree

    I had reflected my opinion in those comments;

-To me, Honourable Chief Justice Mr. Wajih ud Din is more learned and respectful than Abdul Hafiz Pirzada .The scale of judgment in my mind is that one must call a Brass – Brass & not gold .Differentiation between a dictator’s followers and those who are fighting for the just cause of True Democracy is crystal clear in my mind .
    - Mr. Abdul Hafiz Pirzada took Zulfiqar Ali Bhuto to Gallows, and then he was hanged by the orders (under the influence) of a Dictator.
-Please shift your mind towards true Democracy from dictatorship

  • shimatoree said:

    @ Qazi

thank you for your civility and decency of language.

In ref: to your comment about Pirzada taking Bhutto to the gallows- I think everyone would have to take a differing view .

I do not support dictators either the Military kind such as the generals or the political kind such as the -”political royalty “-that exists in PPP and PML-N- I was against Musharraf when everyone and their uncle were for him. But when examining the legal situation as exists to day in Pakistan Ref; Impeachment- one must look at the legal facts as they are and not merely disguise one’s opinions as the last word of the holy bible.
At issue is not if Musharraf is a bad guy but if the action against him is not mala fide and can hold water in the court of law based on the rules of the 73 constitution as it exists to day. Like it or not this case will be decided on LEGAL grounds and not on somebody’s wishes.
On that point- I would agree with Mr. Pirzada ‘ s arguments.

  • QAZI said:

    . @ Shimatoree
That is fine that you do not render support to Dictators in any form. Do you know Abdul Hafiz Pirzada (on whose directions) and Makhdoom Amin Fahiem are holding meeting in Dubai to Sabotage the on coming Impeachment of the Defecto president? Please wait for the charges to be leveled against the Defecto President in the Parliament by the democratic forces. They may or may not succeed but Abdul Hafiz Pirzada’s arguments were looking totally baseless to me while I upheld the point of veiw of Honourable Justice ( R. ) Wajahuddin. You know that Musharaf has already ruined the remaining west Pakistan in 9 year rule .Its the time for him to step down and hand over the power to Democratic forces. This is how i feel about Abdul Hafiz Pirzada.

Thanks for “allowing” me to air MY views ;-)

“At issue is not if Musharraf is a bad guy but if the action against him is not mala fide and can hold water in the court of law based on the rules of the 73 constitution as it exists to day. Like it or not this case will be decided on LEGAL grounds and not on somebody’s wishes.

How can the pirzada’s defend a man, who says he is guilty of grave violations of the Constitution? Moshe has himself admitted many of his sins.

Here are some the sins committed by Moshe against Pakistan and it’s citizens:

    - In his book he admits that he has sold Pakistani citizens to the Yanks.
    - Moshe has admitted – in a BBC program – that he violated the Constitution, when he made yet another coup in Pakistan.
    - He has violated the sovereignty of Pakistan while silently allowing the Yanks to establish bases in Pakistan and allowing attacks on innocent Pakistani civilians.
    - He used excessive military power against the Red Mosque, when a siege would have been the right way to flush out the mullahs. There is still no report on what actually happened and how many people died.

Do we really need more proof?

Pirzada’s are a twisters – ready to offer their “services” for a few coins. They should be exiled because of their support to traitors/dictators !!!!!!!!!!!
