Several feared dead in N Waziristan missile attack

MIRANSHAH: Three missiles have been fired from a drone near Pak-Afghan border in South Waziristan on Friday.

According to initial reports, the missiles hit two houses and several people feared dead. Details soon.

Thanks for the info. The US has a firm hold on the main stream media. Every time there is an incident like this, they have already cover stories (burger stories) launched to mitigate the media impact. The human brain is like a cute baby, and these media gurus know exactly how to control the average human brian through media.
I liked your analysis of the news story on selling pakistan assets by the SB governer. If I analyse our major news papers, they seem to be following the same line. They will report an incident but wrapped in stories like Afia Siddiqui, five women burried alive, and election of the new president. Now spin all this and see what your brain spits ! I am not saying that those stories are not important, but the immoral thing is, this spinning diverts the peoples attention from the main problems.
This is why we Pakistanis have an attention disorder. They can’t just concentrate on things, thanks to the media control/ engineering by our beloved ISI.

I am not surprised that the US did not gave their official reaction on this. When russia attacked Georgia, the US’s official wording Russian condemnation included “they have attacked a free and democratic country”. Now what this says is its worng to attack a free and democratic country. Unlike the US which attacked and captured Iraq, because it was free but not demcratic. Now what they say in case of Pakistan, its free and democratic? I am not surprised they just stayed quite, so the people will have a chance to be indulged in the other cover stories.

@NaveedK: You cannot accuse Pakistani media of that gross oversight that one does of the US media outlets. These issues of women buried alive and judiciary ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT issues. To say that Pakistan media is controlled by ISI, is as nonsense as saying that ISI controls Swedish media. If anything it is this media which has played the most crucial role against this defint anti-Pakistani establishemnt comprised of Mushara, his purged ISI and top military brass and the extremists imposed on Pakistan (that’d be PPP and much-lite leagues).

Pakistan media is not without faults, but this independent media is no PTV.

Although this prticular incident happened in Afghanistan some weeks ago after which US denied any civilian casualties but the truth comes out now……AND this is what is happening inside Pakistan too….but our new ’so called democratic goverment’ is keeping silent over it??…they claim to be democratically elected… Have they sought approval from Parliament for genoicide by foreign forces inside Pakistan(now 4th in 4 days - during Ramadan). LAHORE: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Chief, Air Marshall Tanvir Mahmud said that the PAF was compliant to the government directives and, therefore, it could not take any retaliatory action on its own against the Angoor Adda-like aerial raids.

On the sidelines of the inaugural ceremony of PAF College of Education here, Air Chief Marshall Tanvir Mahmud in a chat with the media said that the PAF on its own could not decide about any operation. The government has to apprise on the diplomatic level of the consequences of such raids, he said. He further said that we want the people gone off track in the tribal areas to get back on the right path.
