This war in pakistan is being discussed on political chatshows from purely political point of view but I wish somebody starts looking at this war from the point of view of sectarianism. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is a Deobandi organization. Lashkar-e-Islam is a Deobandi outfit too. And it’s head with a funny name Mangal Bagh is deobandi as well. It’s simply the extremist Deobandi Wahabi ideology at war with moderate majority ehl-e-sunnat State of Pakistan. For these Deobandi militants, both the state of pakistan and the Western World are infidels. Now the State of Pakistan has to decide whether it wants to team up with the West to kill the enemy within first. OR if they want to team up with the enemy within to fight against the West. The conventional wisdom says destroy the enemy within first. So I wouldn’t mind if Pakistan teams up with the West to kill the enemy within first for the simple reason: GHAR KA BHAIDI LANKA DHAYE. This enemy within is a greater danger to Pakistan than the Western World.

It was heartening to watch the top students of our country - predominantly girls. Here are the models of simple straight forward young Muslims who showed more harmony of thought than most of our political and religious leaders. The fact that nearly all the students were well aware of what is happening in Pakistan, inspite of their preoccupation with their studies, shows that the future will be in good hands, provided the present leadership can pass the country into these hands in one peice.

@ Salim Khalid. I like your bold analysis. But we should not talk of finishing any sect: we should strive for an understanding for co-existance. If predominantly ‘wahabi’ Saudi Arabia and Shia Iran can be friends to predominantly Hanafi Pakistan than why cannot our different sects do that within Pakistan. Granted that Talibans and other millitant groups are deobandi, but all deobandi are not millitans. All these sects co - exist in Europe, North America, middle east, and India. Why there should be so much trouble only in Pakistan and Afghanistan ? Poverty, illiteracy and inefficient/insinsere leadership. Is’nt it?

    @salim khalid

I fully agree with you thaat the Pakistani Talibans are a Deyobandi?whabi movement. One reasen why Molvi Fazlurehman and co always bargain with no matter who in Government because thier only interest at the moment is the province of Sarhad which they wish to convert in to Deyobandi state. But I dont agree that we should team up with the West. Rather we should team up with the local population bring them on board, single out these fanatics and if they dont give up arms peacefully only then should selective force by the government should be used.

These people are so narrow minded its unbelieveable. I have friends in Hazara region. Hazarah, like the rest of Pakistan is predominantly Sunni yet the Imam of thier masjid has been continuosly harassed at gunpoint. These thugs are walking arround in the region openly with fire arms threatning any body that practices differently to them on things as trivial as tasbehh traveeh. They came in to the Mosque one night during traveeh prayer armed with guns and threatend people that they must not read Tasbeeh Traveeh as it has no basis in hadith. Leaving the religous argument asside, how pathetic is that? But when you considder the fact that the father of the Whhabi movemnt Abdul Wahhab Najdi was no different as it was on his fatwa that the Sunni people were masacred in the city of the Prophet STAWS, even the women were not spared and were treated as captive maids were in the earlier parts of history.

So in the end I am against any Western involvement as they will never be sincere to any Islamic country but these thugs patrollig madrassas, schools and colleges with fire arms definitley need a good spanking.

Nonsense.Instead of discussing the interview of young and bright Pakistanis we have started discussing sectarianism.Look what the new generation of Pakistan is talking?they have no problem that Ahmadinijad is a Shia.A young girl just praised the Iranian President but on the other hand she is advoctaing dialogue in FATA which proves that She is just a simple Muslim. The girl who got 1018 numbers out of 1100 said that she want a dialogue with the militants. The boy got first position in commerce group said that only true democracy can save Pakistan.I feel proud after listening the youngsters.

    what a refreshing program…..
a break from the disheartening elders (no disrespect)

very nice to know the youth is so hopeful and charged with energy and determined to change the fate of nation…
now all we need is to channel this energy.

Watching the program and lessoning the views of
youth of Pakistan I was very optimistic. But
reading the comments of salim khalid and co.
you reverted the Problem to sectarianism
made me said. These Kinds of Views would
divide the Pakistani Nation. We have already
Problems with Sindhi, Punjabi, Pastoon, Balauchi, Mohajir, … Now if we start also with Shia/Suni
and Deobandi/Berelwi then the Pakistani Nation
    would never get united.

We all know that there are different school
of thaughts and these are not new.
We should avoid to blame any sect or any group.
These type of views will create more hates
    between the peoples.

People who are propoagating such type of views
are not sincere to Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Nonsense is right. Deobandi has nothing to do with terrorism, neither is wahabi nor shiaism. ANd wahabi and deobandi are 2 totallly different things. One might as well make hyperboles about any other sect one feels prejudiced against.

What was the sect of busharaf? Wasn’t he the biggest mass murderer? Isn’t the govt of pakistan the most rogue today then in the history of this country? Is the west today the harbinger of enlightened ideas anymore? the winds seem to be shifting. And is not the cleansing of Pakistan from these barbarous mass murderers and thieves a must? If so than make war on this tyrannical government in whatever capacity, not your countrymen.

It is part of History, that Abdul Whhab issued the fatwa to Sa’ud that it was ok to kill the Sunnies of Madina and that is what happend.

    Whabis and Deyobandis are cousins.

Where does sepeah sehaba come from?

    comment-bottom
  22. comment-top

The only problem is that wahabis would deny anything to do with deobandis. And if abdul wahab did give that fatwa than apparently pak mercs in khakis and the rogue terrorist regime in pakistan is following it hook line and sinker. And what does sepah sahaba have to do with FATA. All these groups including other terrorist outfits like tehreek jafaaria, lashkar islam have their hotbeds in the settled and urban and industrialized districts of Pakistan.

This deliberate but hollow attempt at hackneyed connections is nothng but propaganda of a proxy fascist regime to cause more confusion, misdirection and destruction. It hols very little if any relevance.

After watching this great episode I am very much relaxed that atleast we have a gennration which can take care of Pakistan.

But after looking at the comments, I am totally disappointed with this generation as it still stuck in punjabi, balochi, sindhi, mohahjir and top of it deobandi, wahabhi sunni …. This generation needs to look it self and think that what they are passing to the new genenration.. the only word came is HATRED…. in every sense…

For God Sake, stoping pinpointing to others and first look in to your self what you are giving to Pakistan and start doing you job for pakistan with passoin and with sincerity ..this is the only thing we are missing… which can save Pakistan.

    Allama Iqbal said very well:

Naa main arabi, Naa main hindi, Naa main iraqiohijazi

    WOW!!!!

WHAT A GREAT BUNCH OF SPECIAL YOUNG WOMEN OF GREATest PAKISTAN.
I HOPE THE WHOLE WORLD IS WATCHING
THEM. THEY ARE THE FUTURE OF OUR COUNTRY.

They all are intelligent, articulate, confidence and visionary. They are fully aware of the current serious crises our country is going through and they even have the solution to solve it. I would like to demand Mr Zardari, Prim. Minister giliani and the other leaders of current Government to listen to these wonderful women of Pakistan and seek an advice to solve the current crises.

Yes indeed they speak the minds of 160 million Pakistanis and that’s the mandate we have given to the current leaders. The mandate is, ” stop genocide in our north.”

I am proud of these talented young women and their parents who have raised them and have provided them the opportuinties to receive education and to be what they are. Yes indeed,Islam does teach equlity among men, women and people of all walk of life. I wish every men and women in Pakistan can be provided similar opportunities and circumstances to get the same education. I also agree with all the women particpant that, in order to bring youth into the politics and to bring good pliticians, we need to disseminat political awareness and political eduation among the masses and that should be on the large scale, and that must be part of educational curruculum. We have to dump all the corrupted politicians slowly but steadily and replace them with good one like these talened women. Sure it will take some time but we have to start some where. If we did not do now, we are on a path of disintegration.

Before I conclude, Allow me to salute these special women of Pakistan and I am proud that they are my fellow citizens. I wish them best luck.

Alright then a few random ramblings:

1)These guys are future Imran Khan voters.
2)And obviously with their attire, their views and their scores they fit the bill of a typical mullah and mullahni (BOOO!).
3)But I expected this from them: given that the views of someone from cadet college kohat, sir syed college, beacon house and Islami madrassah talib don’t differ much in many socio political arenas. Ummm Maybe Froebell’s might kinda sorta break the mold. But given that most of the Frobs are emos or brohos they prolly will echo the same sentiment just cuz they are ‘rebelling against the system.’
    4) Hamid Mir is the best journalist from pakistan. his chutzpah, his equal oppertunity offensiveness, his at times partisan views, his neutrality at appropriate times as a host makes him the best guy out there. But ofcourse, likes and dislikes of personalities are personal and subjective. Talat can hope to kiss his ass.
5)I disagree with some of their viewpoints, but I could attribute that to my arrogance given that I got distinction in my FSC from overseas a few years ago and have since had more living and experiencing.
6)They obviously represent a clear and present danger to this defunct establishment, precisely because they’ll fit the bill of an extremist in the neocon dictionary.
    7) Their emphasis on Islam, their devotion, pledge and love for their identity, their self confidence in their belief system and hopes and dreams unfortunately just don’t jive. It doesn’t jive because it is unfashionable and a pariah.

    8) I am damn effing proud of them.

    FEW IMP POINTS:

All these brainwashed women (no kids) who topped are on average much older (atleast couple of years to 3 years) - older than the average age of intermediate student.

All are wearing scarfs showing a dangerous trend and islamisation of Pakistan while their brainwashed text book answers have a good selling pitch which is even dangerous.

So regarding democracy, this one woman was probably a todler in 1999, when Musharraf came to power, but she speaks as if she has seen and read it all about dictators and the goodies democracy brings.

pathetic and sorry affairs of pakistani society where it has offerred such brains coming out through govt education systems. While the rich who would matter, e.g. Bilawal kinds do A-levels and undertake an entirely different education system teaching rather entirely different ethics… and would rule these confused nation of self proclaimed cramers …..atleast for next 20 years or so….bilwal and alikes would lead by default and these sub standard education holders would follow and all in good democracy….

@Munir Solangi: DOn’t lie. I’ve never blasted Hamid Mir or made any ill comment on him or any anchor for that matter. And I don’t understand what you meant by supporting democracy. I don’t think you even know what that means.

And yes Hamid Mir is a friend of Imran Khan, the fact that he still manages to come across as objective is a credit to him.

^^Ofcoure they are all brainwashed extremists! And LA times suggests as do this regimes masters to make war on extremists. How about sending a predator drone or two their way? One wonders why didn’t Zardari send a missile and gunships on Hamid Mir’s studio given that there was such a dense gathering of Islamist extremists. They definitely pose a threat to the World security. Pre-emptive strike against them is a must. Remember a god muslim is a dead muslim. Heck a good human is a dead human. Make sure you get thier parents too! and relatives: men, women and children.

Are they running out of cluster bombs already?
That’d be a tragedy, given that all schools in pakistan whether following the metric system or A/o levels more or less produce the same extremists except for ofcourse the naturally (feudally)gifted brought up on abundance (blood money) in shores off the coast.

Because really only then one would have the sass and genius of having the proclivity to chose precocious leaders such as Bush. Chinga tu madre.
