Well you can believe what you want . He wasnt going anywhere .The only place he came to was the USa and that was because i was going through a divorce and my hearing was in progress. Again, i am telling you the letter is fabricated by Miss Carey ...the problem my father had were personal grudges against him by some people .It had nothing to do with Taliban or spilling beans against anyone . Don't be misled . I know this since a long time the only thing was when people kept asking we couldnt tell them at that time the intelligence agencies had advised us to keep quiet about it so the accused wont be too aware or cautious . I have checked the identity of the accused with personal serving with my father . I have evrything confirmed .If you choose to make it a dramatic hollywood plot ,so be it. There is nothing to it .

Sorry but I will doubt it — it is just too convenient.

(I also have a serious issue with things confessed under torturous interrogation)

I also heard some army guys claiming the army had done it. The reason they gave was it had become known he was about to skip the country and say things that should not be said (the way they put it: he had already asked his foreign contacts to be taken out of the country (rightly) believing his life was in danger. Army suspected he was going to spill the beans (rightly too as the letter proved) so they had to take him out)

BTW: I doubt this story as much as the former as the army guys are always making tall claims.

No , dont doubt it . I have confirmed it with alot of reliable resources . These men are ,well some of them are X-military . They defected when send for operations to North Waziristan and joined religious outfits. Maj(r) Haroon had a brother who was a soldier in SSg who went with my father in the Angor ada operation . He defected right after that and went to Afghanistan to fight with the Taliban but he left behind a will stating gen(r) alavi to be killed as he is wajabul qatal. Infact , in one of the raids there was a diary found in the hideouts of the miltants stating the same thing . My father always knew his name was in the list of people to be targetted . The media hasnt been told the whole story thats why they wrote what you showed me above . Its hardly flattering Pakistan's own men siding with miltants to kill their own but believe me it is the truth .
As to why they carried it out so late , they said at first it was impossible when my father was in the miltary as he had too much security around him. After he left, they carefully planned it and had attempted twice before . I dont know if you know this but for the past 6 months someone would inscribe death messages on the walls of our house . Dad
would just get it white washed he didnot take much notice of it . The messages read " Death to SSG" . I know i can't convince anyone but this is life not a Hollywood plot there is nothing more to it . I have already explained , right now Pakistan is at a very vulnerable position . Alot of people are trying to raise the issue that Pakistan isnot fighting against the terrorists . To make matters worse they allege the military having deals with the miltants . That is really not the case .

@manidr
I posted a comment earlier on this:
“Apparently, a retired Major Haroon Ashig along with two others was involved in the murder of Major General Faisal Alvi ”

Hardly apparent. These guys were caught for some other crime (kidnapping) and during [more than two weeks] of “tafteesh” conveniently “confessed” to Alvi murder.

I am really surprised you of all the people would so easily accept this cr@p story about arrest of the so called murderers. I seriously doubt it.

My father's killers have been caught . It has been a long wait waiting for the truth . The whole web of intrigue and conspiracy woven by Miss Carey Schofield was all fake . I spend the last 2 months trying to get to the truth . I ocntacted Miss Carey Schofield demanding a copy of the letter she first agreed then refused .I tried to question her if anyone was there while my dad gave her the alleged famous letter she named a person but when i contacted him he denied any letter being given to her .
Unfortunately , like me a lot of people did believe the letter and the conspiracy . I think the public should know the truth . Miss Carey has an upcoming book on military army being published soon and and she took advantage of my father's killing to publicize her name .

@VXO: I find it really odd that the two people who would be considered farthest from the pejorative 'beardo' (allegedly 'coined' by none other than yourself!) are the ones acting like the most aggrieved parties here.

Meanwhile, the real beardo's are merrily plodding along oblivious to the battles being waged on their behalf, and that is my major beef against the beardo's: Their despicable and infuriating blissful ignorance. Something which neither of you two gentlemen can be accused of.

Regardless of who defined the term, in its popular usage, it doesn't define either Yourself or Nota, but I seemed to have managed to step on both your tails at the same time.

My apologies.

Also, the "strange befuddled gem" that you "quote" is actually from @nota supposedly "quoting" me. Seems like he didn't bother to notify readers -- through punctuation/quotation norms, a helpful note, or even annoying ellipses for that matter -- that it is from multiple posts.

Quite possibly because his intended audience was probably the beardos. Who don't bother with such unimportant details. In any case, I do reserve the right to use profanity as 'a device' to sneak a point across (FWIW).

I choose quick n dirty over 'long and boring' ... just a matter of personal choice.. and let us not forget the audience.

Also, I find the charge of 'bigotry' rather amusing. Reminds me of the "anti democracy Mujahideen-e-Islam" (present company excluded of course) who have this tendency to become overnight constitutional experts no sooner than the shoe is on the other foot .

Again, congratulations on the coinage, it is really a wonder that no-one thought of it sooner, given the fact that all the ingredients, namely, Beards, The English Language and Islamic Nutjobs have existed for quite some time now! :)
