Due to fiber cuts in international network, Internet in Pakistan is severely disrupted. Videos on PK Politics will be delayed until the internet issue is resolved in Pakistan.
Internet and phone communications between Europe, the Middle East and Asia were severely disrupted Friday after three undersea cables were damaged in the Mediterranean, France Telecom said.
“The causes of the cut, which is located in the Mediterranean between
Sicily and Tunisia, on sections linking Sicily to Egypt, remain unclear,” a
statement said, while a spokesman said it was unlikely to have been an attack.
France Telecom said it was sending a boat to fix the lines between Italy
and Egypt, but that it would not arrive until Monday and that it could take
until December 31 until normal service was restored.
Most business to business traffic between Europe and Asia was being
rerouted through the United States, the firm said, but regular communications
between Europe and several Asian countries has been disrupted since early
Friday.
Sixty-five per cent of traffic to India was down, while Singapore saw a 59% cut, Malaysia 44%, Saudi Arabia 55%, Egypt 52%, Taiwan 39%, and Pakistan 51%.
Not good. How will the beardos watch the porn that keeps them entertained while they are not spewing hate speech.
Also, why did NS take the liberty to opine on the ‘fact’ that the Mumbai Kasab is from Faridkot, next to where NS buried corpses of some old enemies. The Indian media is using Nawaz Bhai’s kalmaat to peddle all sorts of headlines. He could have had some shrewed, tough but careful comments but no, he has to drop the bomb by saying Pakistan looks like a failed state…. Ahsan Iqbal was doing a fine job, why the heck did NS have to open his mouth.
In a disruption that may bring back memories of an earthquake off the coast of Taiwan that cut eight undersea cables in December 2006, Internet and phone communications in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia have been seriously disrupted after as many as four submarine cables were severed.
the FLAG FEA, SMW4, and SMW3 lines near Egypt’s Alexandria cable station are suspected to be severed. As well, a fault was found on the GO submarine cable 130km off shore from Sicily.
“This will grind economies to a halt for a short space of time,” “If you look at, say, local financial markets who trade with European and US markets, the speed at which they get live data will be compromised.”"If you think how quickly trades can be placed, if they are suffering from bad latency times, then by the time a trade is placed, the market may well have moved on.”
Now look at the important and interesting part…..
It is suspected that 65 percent of data flow to INDIA was cut…well go on then lets blame it on pakistan
While the cause of the disruptions is unknown, some suggest that seismic activity near Malta in the Mediterranean Sea is suspected
We’ve lost three out of four lines. If the fourth cable breaks, we’re looking at a total blackout in the Middle East,” These three circuits account for 90 percent of the traffic and we’re going to see more international phone calls dropping and a huge degradation in the quality of local Internet.”
The pair of shoes which was thrown at Mr. Bush in Iraq has links to
Pakistan, said a statement from Pentagon. They have the following proofs:
i) The journalist had visited Pakistan earlier this year.
There he was inspired by the shoe throwing at former CM Arbab Ghulam
Rahim and Sher Afghan Niazi.
ii) He received his training of throwing shoes by a Pakistan based
Jihadi organization.
iii) The DNA sample of leather has revealed that the animal whose skin
was used for manufacturing the shoe had traces of grass which is grown in
North of Pakistan and this skin was collected by a Jihadi organization on
Eid-ul-Adha this month.
Hearing this, President Asif Ali Zardari has decided to ban the Jihadi organization and launched a country wide crackdown against all the cobblers in Pakistan. Zardari has also legislated that all future press conferences will be held inside the masjid at the president house so no one will be wearing shoes which they might possibly use.

Dont worry guys..Our fourth cable TW1 that runs from Karachi to Seeb can take upto 4 Gigs of data, i know its tough for them but but the overall internet slow down is not as much as presumed…And since i have worked there in their Network operation center we have been through all this number of time..Back in January we had a similar break down one after another which looks more like a conspiracy..I was following the events very closely at that time…You can check my page that i updated in those times.. You’ll be amazed what happened back then
Indian media is repeating the following.

Pakistan is a fail state, says NS.
Kasab is a pakistani,says NS.
India must be convinced,says NS.

NS should not talk to the media more than 5 minutes as he is Na-Ehal and does not know how to talk.If he talks like this then his popularity will come to the ground as he did with his 2/3 majority(granted by agencies) within two years.
When talking about %age (percentage,) I hope Pkploliticks will do a featured article, on, fire/collapse of Ghaka Plaza,
located on Bank Road, Rawalpindi,reportedly
which occured at dawn of today, Saturday.
There are ‘rumours’ that this fire was a result of differences of it’s owner, Raja Shahid Zafar (PPP) with Mr.10% on the transfer/possession of this building in the name of Mr.10%.
It is also rumoured that the earlier blast
/fire in Marrriot, Islamabad, was as a result of refusal of it’s owener, Saddurdin Hashwani to transfer the either the Marriot Hotel or the PC hotel in Bhurban, Murree in the name Mr.10%?
@ aftab.
Gentleman; please remember that I have mentioned that ‘it has so been rumored.’ Rumors are normally circulated by the genearal public; mostly through the word of mouth. Thus one cannot quote just ‘ONE’ particular source, of a rumour. Only subsequent events or cicumstancial evidences, either confirm or deny such rumors. Thus you will have to agree, that it is not possible to give a source.
@ Ahsan Javaid.
It was very interesting to read your blog/link. I only wish that you had printed /highlighted your recommendations, as also given in your blog, which plz allow me to quote & reproduce here, as follows:-
Quote.
1. Setting-up new gateways & laying new strategic fibre cables.
2. Host & offer cheap web hosting inside Pakistan so that we dont have to go to USA on daily basis just to read our newspapers ( Dawn & Jang) or watch our Tv (IPs streaming.)
3. Just for record, Pakistan Navy & many other Govt websites are hosted in USA.
4. Make broadband width extremely cheap on on fibre cable, which is already there.
5. There is an old Chinese saying; ‘ Know your enemy.’ The rest is pretty explanatory. Un-quote.
TW1 is a private undersea cable project owned by Transworld associates (subsidiary of Orascom Telecom) and Transworld has no share in SEA-ME-WE-3 or SEA-ME-WE-4 Cable system
The third submarine cable coming into Pakistan is TW1 and it is working fine but under more than usual load. This is affecting all westward traffic as both of Pakistan’s undersea cable operators, Transworld and PTCL rely on these transcontinental international cable networks.
Total international bandwidth capacity to Pakistan is as , PTCL and TM shares appx 50% each. Total international bandwidth currently available to Pakistan is appx 2.6Gbps or 2600Mbps, out of this 2% appx is with TWA, 4% is with PTCL over SMW-3 and both PTCL and TM owns appx 50% each over SMW-4.
Agree with your recommendations Buddy and here is an example of our Neighbour’s effort on that.
one more submarine cable to be deployed by the end of 2009, its called I-ME-WE (india, middle east n western europe), this cable design will cover 14.000 km and a capacity of 3.84 terabits/secs.
I want to ask you something brother,You said that you have worked in Network Operation center,PTCL or Transworld?
1.How many landing station does pakistan have?
2.What about SMW3 and SMW4 NOC,Do we have access on that or not?.I mean can we administer them?
I hope we can stop implementing before experementing…..
Wateen Telecom was totely not prepared for the Commercial Launch of WiMax Project but due to some unknown reason they launch it and failed to meet the customer’s requirement. Even if you dial their Help Line and ask for a New WiMax Connection, It will be realy your luck to receive a response. Very Poor and immature way to handle customer’s complaints just add fuel on Fire.
Damn you liberal fascists! You and your Mr. 101% have really destroyed the soveruntree of our cuntree!
Zaalimo! Qaazi aa raha hai!
This is what our government doing……..who says they are not doing anything.

Nawaz Sharif is hopeless duffer.
At this critical moment, his stupid thoughtless uttered words have given Indian media something to cheer on.
I dont know how he heads his party when He doesnt even know how to speak sensibly for half an hour!
