haji muslim khan ( taliban spokesman) using a mobile phone with camera, giving interview on TV, talking to a na mehram woman!what a hypocrate!
Talibs are no different than our ruling elite class. They want laws only be applied on common citizens and declare themselves exempted from it. There will never be a fair justice system in pakistan until there’s a bloody revolution which wipes out these ruling thugs.
look at how Muslim Khan refrained from answering whether or not the Taleban would refuse to disarm. When pressed for the tenth time or so, he said that they would not disarm, but rather, they would not use it any way that Shariah doesn’t allow them to.
Now,that means that they can use weapons against non-Muslims, and given his statement that those who refused to support the Nizam e adl Regulations are non-Muslim, they can turn their attention on them. They can also turn their attention on anyone opposing the Taleban.
That said, I am happy that the Nizam e Adl has been passed and signed. That would separate the people from the taleban, separate the Tehrik e Nifaz e Shariat e Muhammadi from the Tehreek e Taliban. Once they can be separated, I support the ANP’s desire to bring in these areas into the realm of politics and the Provincial government, so that moderate political forces can engage the people. If the Taleban reject the political parties as non-Muslim, then all political parties must join together and launch the campaign against Tehreek e Taliban, with the people of the area on their side.
Of course, all of this also includes the need to reduce the impact of foreign interference, be it US drones, or arming and funding insurgents.
I am confident that in time, Pakistan can return to stability and peace.
Muslim Khan looks more high tech than our army even. Just look at the proud way he is standing with the wirless sattelite phone in his pocket. It is obvious that they have no shortage of money to buy multi dollers sat equipments.
Dear all
I agree on all the points raised by you guys but there are certain questions that need the appropriate answers:
1: These people living in the tribal and northern belt are a reality.. By constitution these areas have no rights like other cities and provinces have. Now we cant deny that these people are conservative by their culture, we cannot stop them from having an Islamic way of their own choice…Can we???
2: These tribals have centuries of tribal traditions to keep their weapons with them as tribal pride, will the be Ready to shun the weapons….I think NO
3: Isnt there a need of the policy to propagate world over that all tribals are not terrorists, just a segment out of them are cause of devastation…and is’nt there a need to tell the world that weapons are the tribal symbols…As I see government can start development into these areas and could create jobs, only then they will be in better position to disarm tribals.
1) Islamic way of their own choice…..NO. They will have an Islamic way of the Ulema’s choice. of the Council of Islamic Ideology’s choice, regulated by the Federal Shariah Court. Not the Taliban’s choice. If they get a system of their choice, then the area is no longer part of Pakistan.
2)I agree, that it is next to impossible to disarm people in the Tribal Areas, BUT:
The Taliban are an extra-Tribal organization. They have been responsible for creating anarchy in the region by killing Tribal leaders, who are Muslims. They should dismantle as an organization and integrate into the Tribal system.
3) The only way we will be able to propagate over the world that Tribal are not terrorists, by ensuring tribal s do not take part in terrorist activities. Right now, that is not the case. Even if the government starts development, it will not succeed until the area is secure. otherwise, you will have a situation of workers being kidnapped.
