It is a case of trying to choose between an “or” and an “and” situation. We have a tendency to try to choose between options. Life seems simpler this way, more manageable somehow. However, the fact of the matter is that life’s best decisions, and often at times the only possible solutions, are arrived at through the “and” approach by combining options and reaching compromises.
We have the issue of Swat in front of us. On the one hand are those who fully support the so-called “Nizam-e-Adl” while on the other side are people who claim that this is the wrong strategy. The aim of this article is not to go into lengthy details about the origin and reasons behind the extremists because other people know it better and have described it far more eloquently than I can. My aim is to move on from there. We have a problem at hand. This is a given. There are theories on its origin. It could be indigenous, it could have been triggered by Indian and Afghan involvement or it could even be conspired by US shenanigans amid equally plausible similar other conspiracy theories and ideas. Suffice it to say that no matter what the cause, the failing is our own. Why did we let others fight proxy wars on and from our territory in the first place? In addition, why did we let a vacuum develop because of the instability, the lack of administrative system and absence of justice that the Taliban have purportedly filled for Swat? We have been tactless, thoughtless and blind during the days of Soviet invasion and the chickens we so artfully hatched have now come home to roost. We saw it in Waziristan, Mohmand, Khyber, Dir, Bajaur and now in Swat and increasingly in Buner. We have been brainless during the Musharraf regime by being the tissue paper for US. The problem that was then very much at our doorstep is now well and truly inside our own backyard and it is destroying us, piece by piece.
Since we created this monster, the solution also lies with us. The solution is not bombing the areas left right and centre. It can only strengthen the monster. If the US cannot achieve it, with all its allies and sophisticated equipment, its satellite navigation and smart bombs, there is a fat chance that we can. The solution is also not in “noora kushti” with US, condemning their drone attacks, for example, but letting them use our bases and routes for supplies at the same time. It works against us because the populace may be stupid, but not that stupid. But then the solution also cannot be allowing Maulvi Fazlullah and his band of religious yahoos to have a free hand and make a state within the state while we sit comfortably in our citadels living in the fool’s paradise that the Frankenstein’s monster that we created will not come looking for us. We are swinging between extremes like a pendulum, either following US bidding and not paying heed to our own common sense or now suddenly being all for “nizam-e-adl” and thinking it to be the end of the problem. Most of us concentrate on either one of these solutions “or” the other while a real workable solution lies in an “and”. We have to negotiate with them “and” also show an iron fist.
It is not for me or any thinking Pakistani to begrudge the Swati people a few moments of respite in the maddening chaos that was going on there. However, we must know that this solution is not permanent. It is like a lull before the storm. This momentary peace will not last if it is not followed by “and” action which is re- establishing the writ of government (and not what the US wants) through soft and hard means. The first is then to distance ourselves from US. Of course we cannot afford to go on an open confrontational path but there is something known as firm stance. We can do a couple of things that can show US we are serious in pursuing our own plans and not theirs. Refusing, for example, their supply line to pass through is one such step. If the parliament stands strong and firm and shows to US that it is against people’s will, only then can it happen (what the parliament is doing, however, is another sad story).
The second thing to do (and to do quickly) is to elevate the status of that part of the country, to give it a working administrative system and provide the people with ample opportunities of livelihood. Let them then make their own choice. The point over here is not opposition of an Islamic system. But can we infer this “nizam-e-adl” to be the answer to people demands? Most of the Swati people are just hoping for peace. The quick welcome that they gave to this regulation was more for personal reasons than because of ideological concurrence. Had there been peace in that area and people by popular demand had opted for a particular system then by all means there was merit in their demand. Now with a group of people calling the shots, who knows what the whole population wants?
The third most important thing is to look deep at and into our army. How did it reach such a sorry state that a bunch of ragamuffins (of our own creation) are now blackmailing us into accepting their demands, to which we have acquiesced to, for the peace of Swati people? We also need to answer some burning questions. How on earth could an FM radio not be detected and destroyed for 4 years? Any under graduate telecom engineer can triangulate and detect the point from where an FM signal is being generated. That is technology from WWII! What is the meaning of side-by-side army and Taliban posts in Swat? How can an army that is considered one of the top armies in the world not be able to control Swat? Agreed, that the problem with US is that they are ignorant of the dynamics of the area (and they do not have local population’s sympathies) but how can our own army with its intelligence network in the area (which it was so aptly using during Soviet-Afghan war) not use it to their advantage by selectively targeting the trouble makers? How has our intelligence system been working then (or not working is more like it)? Why is not the army going in Buner, for example, to help where the locals are fighting the Taliban? Several questions that are of grave concern. What is going on within the ranks of the army and in those citadels of power? What games are being played? Mere signing of Nizam-e-Adl does not automatically address these concerns.
The bottom line is then that for the moment we have been forced into a corner to accept Taliban’s demand. However, this should not lull us into a false sense of security. We need to plan for the future. Negotiate “and” fight back (but selectively and after distancing ourselves from US). On the part of common people like us is very important to realize that opposing Taliban in Swat is not opposing Islam. Taliban are not champions of Islam any more than the people who oppose them are infidels. Taliban’s fight is not a fight for Islam, it is more of a hostile take over by a group of insurgents with fire power because there was no working system in that area provided by the government and any organized group could take over. If one really wants to implement Islamic system, one has to start with making sure that first everyone gets basic rights and then move on to the enforcement of hudood. A real Islamic system would be a system we would want for the whole of Pakistan and not cringe from it. On the other hand, opposing Taliban and their brand of Islam should not make us pass a judgment on Islamic system itself, something which most of the Pakistanis agree with. We have to very carefully maintain a delicate balance. Needless to say, the media has a very important role to play. They must not sway between extremes. Recalling the Lal Masjid crisis, everyone in the media was for establishing the writ of the government and after the fiasco and massacre that was carried out over there in the name of law and order, the same people were condemning the government. We are walking the wire and balance is the key to the solution. Our collective incompetence left us with no other option but to lay down our arms in this battle but we must not forget that the war has not ended and there are more battles ahead. Our own survival is at stake and we have to strategically and intelligently fight this war of our survival. Failure, sadly, is not an option.
We have to give this Swat Deal a fair chance to settle and then we should comment. When this was apporved by the Parliament last week,it was a deperate situation. To come out at this stage and fight outright with Talibans will just create situation like East Pakistan and we will have another Mukti Bahini on our hands. Lets be patient.
Although Musharraf created this situation to his advantage but Zardari has continued with the same agenda. When Zardari (and Gillani) took over, instead of solving the problems they both started the gane of Judiciary and wasted valuable time in keeping Ch Iftikhar out. Then they both with the help of Salman Taseer started Shahbaz Sharif crises, and then there was Farah Hamid Dogar’s problem. The present Govt has no idea how to solve Taliban or Any problem. Rehman Malik wants to crush with power……..just another mad man. Zardari and Co is responsible for this total chaos. PM Gilani is just protecting his arse.
No matter what ever happens let’s give this deal a chance and just listen to whatever at present Sufi Ghulam Mohd is saying. We have no other choice. Perhaps we are going to see below long articles but NO SOLUTION, so lets talk to Talibans. Once again we have no choice and today Gen Mullen is in Islamabad and rumour is that He has offered to Pakistan that if Taliban does not move out of Buneer than American commandos will come to the help of Pak Army possibly with Drone attacks.
All one can say is “practice what you preach”. It is all very well to point out the negative effect of our policies and I agree with all that. But then that is all we are good at. Pointing out. We cannot offer any good alternatives. It is time to say what we should do.
The press or you may say the media, does not give enough coverage to “alternatives”. For example we say drone attacks are counter productive. Well would you in the media tell your audience how many terrorists are created when they kill one militant in an attack. You should go there and actually interview people who are bombed. In fact in the beginning journalists used to rush there, but I don’t see it happening any more. People need to understand who is telling the truth.
For example if we were “brain dead” during Musharraf’s regime and, I believe we were then what did the media do about it. Nothing. They stood behind him, all those 8 years. The lawyers have shown us that if you stand together united and in a peaceful manner the power of people can overcome any dictatorial resistance. Thus he should be put on trial and you all should support that, so that we do not encourage any future brain dead general to come to power and believe me all these “generals” are brain dead. Proof: see what is going on all over the country!
I believe the media should expose our weaknesses by offering alternatives so that the people can decide which direction to take. Right now the truth is that our president is also brain dead. He has no vision, no idea, no plan, no knowledge on how to tackle terrorism or domestic economy. Also brain dead is our PM and our Interior Minister, who seams to be bent upon learning english language on public forum then to protect us.
Will we be saying in future years also that the present years were a waste. The answer is “yes”. So who will decide to take matters in there hand and do something about it. We the people but then who will energise us. It has to be media.
You may debate this as much as you like but the fact is our government has failed to put the Mullahs behind bars, failed to impose one law, That is law provided under the constitution, failed to protect our people, failed to provide a foreign policy that makes us a secular state.
So I think we should expect much more from our media in months and years to come. And let me also hasten to say they have done substantially more for the country specially the TV anchors
We need to come together as Muslims and Pakistani’s and stop the barbarity that is being shown by the Taliban, Military, Intelligence agencies and other extremists in Pakistan.
Islam is a religion of peace. Why are Muslims killing and hurting each other? Why can’t the so called students of Islam live in peace. Prophet Muhammad didn’t change the world in two decades on the basis of the sword.. it was his peaceful non-violent manner that won the hearts of his worst enemies.
Verse from the Qur’an: ‘Whoever killed a human being should be looked upon as though he had killed all mankind (5:32).’ How can any Taliban or Muslim try to hurt others using guns and bombs on a purely criminal basis. We need to distinguish violence from Islam in order to establish peace and justice.

@PakiGal007
Well said. The problem is that these beardos justify and hide their atrocities under the cover of “Jihad” because to them all is allowed in Jihad.
In short:
- Say NO to the Yankees
- Stop supply routes
- Carrot and stick
- No frontal attack, but surgical strikes.
@Amir Hameed
No doubt these socalled “beardos” are more of maulvi types, but mind you that they can never be defeated if we have an alliance with the devil=USA. We must bring peace first and have something better to offer then we can speak about surgical strikes.
NAR on papers is not that bad but on grounds it is altogether different story. Taliban has already breached this agreement. ANP should come out boldly and announce that after Taliban breached this agreement we have no choice but to resume this operation again.
@Shirkuh,
Set aside US for a moment; what makes you believe that we can bring bring peace in this region if these beardos are allowed to run over everything that will come their way? I mean, how do you know that they will not start marching towards another area to conquor it? mind you that they have already declared the judicial system of this country as un-Islamic? Sufi has already stated that they would like to see their brand of “Shriah” (whatever that is) to other parts of the country?. It is time for us to wake up because the time is running out quickly.
By the way, what is it with the shiny happy picture of the bearded guy. This is the second time the same picture has been used on an article. What is it? a feeble attempt at subliminal messaging?
Those who think suporting NAR is more important than Pakistan itself should go and meet the Tajik Taliban in Buner. Oh, wait, they are there to enforce the NAR. All the way from Afghanistan. How nice of them, really.
We must clean the cobwebs of confusion from our minds. When you see Bullsh*t, call it bullsh*t. The NAR maybe wrapped in a peaceful pagri and packaged with a beard but it stinks like a turd and looks like a turd. Ergo, it is a turd.
But yes, let’s hope we are able to divide Fazlullah from Sufi Muhammad. Let’s hope they leave Buner. Let’s hope Pakistan comes out of the ICU and lives.
@Amir Hameed
I am not sure about anything now. In the first place Moshe and friends should never have started the war.
The “solution” that I have NO trust in the Yankee “solution”, which will only increase atrocities. IMO we only have a chance by what I wrote earlier.
US has never been good at fighting insurgencies.I also agree with the writer on finding OUR OWN way out of this mess.Stop looking at US,they have badly failed to tackle these MILITANTS everywhere.What the GHQ is thinking?beside their running business.
Everyone is an expert on terrorism, Islam and the situation in the tribal belt and Afghanistan. As the Western powers want, almost all the people are bog down in a useless argument of Islam being a religion of peace and the militant aspect of Islam.
I will address the Swat valley first, by my own experience as a young child on vacation with my sister, mother a servant and the driver. Our servant was a christen young lady who was pregnant at that time and showing it. The hotel we stayed in had lots of foreigners and local Pakistani people spending the summer holiday.
My father was in Europe due to business and his friend owned some businesses in Swat and his manager did all the reservations and also was living in swat with his teenager son in a rented house, he accompanied us and took us to the one of the most breath taking places I have ever seen.
My first observation as a young man from Lahore was that I did not see any local girls or even older women without completely covered, for as long we stayed there. Within a day my mother and the servant stood out like a sure thumb, because they were not covered head to toe. There were few American hippies and one famous writer, I was too young to remember his name.
My mother was treated with respect and servant was laughed at few times because of her exposed bally and they way she walked freely in the crowds. Next day I went to purchase the local news paper from a kid of my age , around ten years old. The kid was wearing torn down clothes, I gave him one rupee and he gave me change.
When he took the change out of his shirt pocket, he had more bullets than the coins in his hand. The same news paper had a story of mass murder near the Mosque around less than 30 yards from my hotel.
13 people were gun down on a argument for a small lot of 100 squire feet. My mother shopped the China from China and smuggled stuff from the market and handicrafts. Next day the newspaper story was about a forest ranger officer gun downed with his driver and two security officials in the bright daylight for stopping the local people from cutting the forest illegally.
I was told by the locals that this young Caption from Punjab was offered bribe and he refused it thus they had to kill him. About the thirteen people slaughter next to a Mosque and the police station was started by an eleven year old boy who was hackled by the party who won the case of the small plot and in defending the honor of his family, the boy pulled a gun and shot the hackler and then was shot by his brother and than boy‘s family started a gun battle with the other family, till thirteen people lost there life and scores got Ingrid.
The strange part of the story is that the police locked themselves in the station till the gun battle ended and came out afterwards, I was told that it is common. The police was so weak that they only did the terrific duties and other petty crime investigation. The manager of the Business was fully armed with European guns and his son had a 9 millimeter hand gun.
During our brief stay in the paradise on earth there was hardly any day we did not read about the gun related violence. No one wants to address the fact that these cuddly bearded men and boys are armed to the teeth, even I saw men carrying machineguns bigger than themselves and literally dragging them .
This tribal culture is culture of guns, smuggling, kidnapping, drug dealing, illegal weapons dealings, safe haven for the mass murders and crime syndicates from all around the country and the Islamic world with the caviar of militancy, hired guns and criminal elements. We left Swat within a week because of the violence and spent the rest of the summer in Muree.
We have to face the fact that these people are still living in the wild, wild West situation in modern day and age. Islam happened to be their religion, it is not the cause of their heavily armed lifestyle.
No government of Pakistan or the world can control these people until you disarm them. We should let these people alone and let them decide when they want to live like the rest of the people of Pakistan under the laws of the country.
The sad reality is that rest of the Pakistan is not a good role model for these heavily armed men. First we should prove that our legal and justice system is functional before they will put their arms down. This is a social issue confused with religion. Those days there was no such entity as Taliban……..

I agree with you but
In short … Beggers dont choose … until we are beggers it may not happen. Even we will break our country out rules will keep us beggers to make them rich…. loans begging …. what can I say more …
The money from US is going into zardari administration’s pockets. US is pushing ‘talibans’ from afghanistan to pakistan. Can you see the future? Well I can. The country will have 10 times more chaos than what is today. Balochistan and NWFP will be separated and zardari will be laughing his a$$ off.
Every Pakistani wishes for peace and prosperity but that does not mean surrender to people of stone age. We should cease military operation every where provided these militants give up the arms and do not use excuse for tradition. This is the only course of action that would bring peace. Govt authority has to be established and culprits to be punished for their crimes.
Signing an agreement with people like Molana Soofi who has no education for Islam or civil socieyt is a big mistake. The majority of these people are uneducated who have no respect for human life. They have plenty of children and their parents abondon their children due to poverty and hunger and these children fall into hands of militants w how give them food and money.
They should lay down their arms and immediately all people of Pakistan play their role and help these people provide food and education. These people have to give up their tradition of keeping arms and come out from the shell and join the main stream of our socieity.
The week people always blame others for their own weekness. If we are united and stand together, we can over all the problems.
I think our government is helpless at this point in time. Neither US is listening to our Govt. demands or shall I say request nor Taliban is ready to quit their game plan. I feel sorry for the entire nation. We at the moment are divided. People who are religious think what Taliban is brining to the region is the Islamic Sharia but on the conterary the other less religious people are afraid of Taliban because they will come and take over their liberties, which are mostly acceptable by the Sharia. We as a nation is cofused. In my opinion, Taliban is using Islam to implement THEIR brand of Sharia which most of the Pakistanis are against. (NOT THE SHARIA but the Taliban’s Sharia)
Is my religion such a narrow minded religion? Is my religion such a dated religion? Is my religion so intolerent? The answer to all these questions is NO. We as a nation should stand against these so called champion of Islam and tell them NO we are not going to let you hijack our religion and take over our country. We are not going to let you take us to the stoneage.
We only have limited time. We can only give another this agreement another two weeks or so before they conquer another district and move closer to Islamabad. After two weeks and if army has any guts left there should be a clear ultimatum to sufi that implement the accord in toto with full surrender of heavy and light arms, disbanding of militia within a week. If that doesn’t happen then go for a full assault and kill and fight them until they surrender. There should be no special laws for anyone in the land and every part of the country should come under the writ of govt and under the jurisdiction of SC.
Living in a state of denial is a luxury we can not afford.
If we can not defeat this menace called taliban then let americans sort it out.
What soverignty some people talk about when we all know that we have surrendred it to talibans.
We can not afford to go back to seventh century.We live in 21st century and follow its ideals.
This is a war between 21st century and middle ages mentality.
I MUST say that, gov shouldnt wait and take action in buneer, cancel the deal with talibans but nizam e hadal must continue working and gov should get help by this from the peopel of swat and fight back these talibans ,,,,, we cant give them time to move forward rapidly, becoz this has been decided that we have to kill them there is no other solution, we must hit back hard and take this war to talibans and shouldnt wait that talibans take this war to our citizan’s to win a war we must start it from wining mind and that should be offensive and not deffencieve like we r doing,,,,,,
A more fundamental issue than Nizam-e-adal is that of recognizing that the Taliban are a serious threat to Pakistan and need to be stopped before they take the country back to the stone age. Using military means, striking a deal to disarm them or other solutions, all have to be geared towards this single goal of stopping the Taliban. We need to give up the romance for Taliban under which we see them as some holy warriors or innocent people only giving vent to some legitimate greivences. No, the Taliban are a fitna and we have to wake up and realize that before it’s too late.
A nice review of the situation from IK and the way forward. The last sentence is particularly of importance in summing up the argument.
“The threat of extremism is directly related to the performance of the state and its ability to deliver justice and welfare to its people.”

YOU ARE RIGHT WE NEEDED OUR OWN STRATEGY FROM THE VERY FIRST DAY AND OUR STRATEGY WOULD HAVE CERTAINLY PROVED BETTER THAN U.S AS STILL WE BELIEVE U.S WILL FAIL IN AFGHANISTAN, DONT MIND, WE SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT OUR OWN LAND AND PEOPLE..
SEEMS LIKE OUR GOVERNMENT AND ARMY HAVE TAKEN SOME DOLLARS (LIKE GENERALS AND GOVERNMENTS HAVE DONE IN THE PAST) TO STAY QUIET “LET US CONDEMN” POLICY..THIS IS EVIDENT BECAUSE WHAT GOVERNMENT IS DOING AT THE MOMENT IS TOTALLY AGAINST THE WISHES OF PUBLIC..
1.THE ARMY SHOWED SOME CHARACTER IN THE BEGINNING BUT IS QUIET AGAIN, MAY BE DOLLARS HAVE DONE THE JOB.
2.OR MAY BE THEY DONT THINK THAT IT IS A MATTER OF CONCERN BY ANY MEANS OR MAY BE THEY HAVE SECRET RELATIONS WITH “SOME” TALIBANS
3.THE GOVERNMENT MIGHT BE AFRAID OF ECONOMIC CRISIS TO SAY “NO” TO U.S AS WE ALL ARE SURE THAT OUR PRESENT GOVERNMENT HAS GOT THE REAL LOVE FOR MONEY
4.THE DEPENDANCE ON “AID” FACTOR ALSO PULLS TIMID LEADERSHIP TOWARDS COMPROMISES
WELL WHATS GOING ON BEHIND THE CURTAIN, WE DONT KNOW..DEALS, DEALS, DEALS..
I HAVE A VERY GOOD IDEA TO DEBATE ON
“TALIBANS ARE EXTREMIST JIHADI PEOPLE AS WE KNOW, THEN HOW U.S MANAGED TO PUSH THEM INTO PAKISTAN, THEY SHOULD HAVE GIVEN THEIR LIVES HOW CAN THEY BREAK INTO PAKISTAN TO FIND A PLACE OF SECURITY OR DO SOME OF THEM NEED A REVENGE FROM PAKISTAN FOR BEING A U.S ALLY AGAINST THEM???”
COMMENTS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

@ Shirkuh
In political movements-( and revolutions are political movements that move at a faster pace ! ) if you study the dynamics and the behaviour of various factions both for and/or against- there are certain things that become evident-
Case in point The Iranian Revolution-
The so-called secular scholars who were in fact the prime movers of the intellectual basis for the revolution had two problems- their main leaders died-( Ali Shariati and Jala Ale Ahmad) before the revolution got going. The lesser people who took over did what lesser people always do- they overplayed their hand and looked down upon the capabilities of the religious elements.
Everyone knows what happened and to-day Iran has a religious democracy of sorts but the religious leaders are in control.
The Americans over played their hand by instigating their agent Saddam Hussain to attack Iran and nothing could not have been better for the religious establishment to achieve their aim or Legitimacy and credibility as the national leaders.
To-day in Pakistan we see a great deal of hoopla and hue and cry regarding the Swat deal. If you watched the TV shows and listened to the champions of secularism- it reminds me of chicken little.
The same people are writing and quoting and predicting the demise of the state if the Swat deal is not quashed. Of course they have company in their slogans-the Americans and their lackeys in the west are singing the same song. To-day I read somewhere that Islamabad is only 60 miles from Swat as the crow flies !
And of all the great crooks that we have to listen to- the great Fazlu has also opined that only the Margala Hills are keeping the Talibs away and he is being quoted left, right and center by those very people who could not stand him .
Are all these people wishing for the demise of the state ? Or are they positioning themselves to the case of ” I told you so “.
Then there are experts and pundits on this very blog who constantly keep harping about the military debacle and so on and so forth.
My advice to everyone would be-( if they were to take it)
1. Take a deep breath and relax. Just because you can comment on a blog- that does not mean your views have any substance. And no one is listening to you anyways.
2. Accept the fact that you do not know the difference between a recoilless rifle , a sniper rifle , or for that matter the different types of shells that a tank fires or how low can a Cobra helicopter flies etc etc.
3. Even though the Govt appears to be incompetent-( and it is) the Army of Pakistan is NOT. If you think a bunch of tribal Talibs are going to take over Pakistan is simply BULL SHIT !
4. All the squeeling that I have seen here reminds me of a kid who wants a certain toy from her parents and gives all kinds of threats that if you do not give me the toy this and that will happen.
What we need is competent leadership which we do not have. The funny part is that those people who on this blog were great supporters of the Shaheeds of PPP are the same who are now singing the chicken little songs if the Swat Deal is not undone.
Well what leadership should there be – YOU ask ? If you replace Zardari then who ?
Do not expect any miracles from Nawaz Shareef and his band of bufoons.( the new darling of the West).
We need leaders who are interested in the welfare of Pakistan and it;s people- who have the courage and backbone and who are not affraid to make tough decisions . I do not know who that might be but the Talibs and the secular gang ain’t got it. Because the Talibs are suffering from the same leadership VOID that the country has.
If you think Baitullah Mehsud or Mangal Bagh or Sufi Mohammad or Fazlullah are the guys who will bring the Talibs to occupy Islamabad – and you are scared to death . Well relax. Those hounds do not hunt or as they say in URDU
IN tilon mein tail naheen.
My message to those of weak backbones and small hearts is-
There is a saying in Pukhto- translated in English-
” we are not the lice on your head that you can catch us and crush us on your nails “
picture is not as gloomy as being painted.world is with us.no one want taliban take over pakistan.all world is ready to help pakistan and even helping now.pakistans economy and world economy is getting better.politacal parties are cooperating with each other.judges has ben restored.so launching pad is ready to take decisive action against taliban.with in three years taliban will be eliminated.
WHERE IS THE ALLAMA IQBAL AND QUAED E AZAM OF TODAY?????
WE CERTAINLY NEED ONE ATLEAST, A COMBINATION OF BOTH TO GET THIS SHIP OUT OF TROUBLE AND TAKE IT FORWARD NOT BACKWARD..
WE NEED A POLITICAL PARTY WHO CONTAINS PHILOSOPHERS AND INTELLECTS NOT “MATRIC FAIL INCOMPETENT NA AHL TABKA”
DO I MEAN IMRAN KHAN?? MAY BE HE COULD MAKE US A CHAMPION AGAIN..
government should held a round table conferece of all the parties,built concenses,take ulmas,civil society and more importantly media enbourd.taliban should be declared traitors and rebals.governhment should issue dead line to lay dwon arms.army parades shold be held in cities.people shoudl shower troops with rose petals and make them believe,whole nation is with you.media should play national antehm and patriotic songs.young people of pakistan should offer their services to fight volunteerly gainst taliban.
@Khurram Shah
I agree with you Imran Khan is the right person. At least you have presented a solution.
And most important those who are anti-IK immediately put blame on him for being pro-Taliban. And if for argument sake that he is pro-Taliban it DOES NOT mean that one should start favouring PPP Govt.
The present set up comprises of Zardari, Rehman Malik and Salman Taseer, and they all are in coma – brain dead. Rehman Maliks statement in the Senate today (22 April) was total bulshit. The publice wants to know what is happening to the inquiry about Sri Lankan Team Attack, Police Academy attack, Chakwal Imam Bara attack, Hangu and Charsadda Check Post attack. Is there any Taliban who could sort out this man – Rehman Malik.
PM Gilani is completely powerless and he is simply trying to protect his arse.
We simply do not have anyone who can get us out of this mess. There is absolutely NO need for East Pakistan style Army action. Remember at that time the Army was encouraged by ZA Bhutto and now the Army will be encouraged by the son-in-law of ZA Bhutto. Let us talk more with Taliban and hope for the best. Zardari is so stupid that he can fall very easily into the trap of Gen Mike Mullen.
And now I am going to hear some nonsense from a PPP supporter in favour of Zardari.
if you want to kill them, join them and then kill them…
I am saying this for years that Pakistan has to choose between Algeria model and Somalia model. The only difference is that Pakistani population is very hetrogeneous religiously and ethnically. Diversity can be both strength and a recipe of civil war. Pakistani national institutions including parliament, judiaciary and army so far are intact and a prove that diversity can be a strength. Now there is a need to mobilize public opinion against extremist Talban because they are posing a great risk to the basic survival of the nation. The only way left for Pakistan is to stop the pleasing policy. Pleasing policy with Mullas is always counter productive. Bhutto tried to please them by taking action against Ahmedies but paid the price by his life. Within three years Mullas forgot their promises of accepting Bhutto as PM for life. BB lost her life from the hand of same Talban she helped to create. ANP will also lose NWFP because of their pleasing policy. President Zardari was forced to sign Adl deal by right-wing media. Now they too are realizing that if Sufi Muhammad take over Islamabad, his first attack will be on media. A person who does not believe in constitution, leads an oulawed organization, disobey judiciary, kill people on streets, consider every one outside his cult a Kafir is dictating the nation. Nation must unite – political or religious differences aside. Few days ago no one except MQM or Ayaz Amir dared to criticioze Talban. today Fazal Rehman, Sharifs, Khawaja Asif, even Munawwar Hasan are criticizing Talban. The only exception is IK the leader on unbearded Talban. The only way to save the country is Algeria model. A brutal cleanup operation. The good thing is that unlike Algeria, Pakistani public will support such action.
@demecrate
Yes, you have shown good patriotic feelings, but before we do all that let us talk to Talibans – don’t rush, the situation is very very critical. Quite a few people above have referred to East Pakistan and believe me I remember every day of March 1971 when Army action started in East Pakistan. Ask any of our old citizen that our media (we only had radio and newspapers) at that time was saying that the movement has been crushed. We are still not been given exact picture on Swat even today.
Just think if the Army Action starts our Govt will put ban on media and just like East Pakistan we won’t have a bloody clue what is going on in Swat or Waziristan. The ground reality is only Jamat e Islami still has some influence in Swat and without getting too allergic about JI, I think Imran Khan and JI should together hold a dialogue with Taliban and Sufi Ghulam Mohammad. ANP is not capable of handling this, they simply want to borrow time to prolong their rule in NWFP. With this fellow Zardari there is absolutely no hope for peace.
so far in the last 60 yrs this heejhra force has not won a single war including 65.
now they have lost to apes
pathetic napak force
What is worse that they strongly believe that they defeated russia in Afghanistan Morons; dont even realize that they were just the instrument of cold war in Afghansitan.While they were building the strategic depth in afghanistan whole nation was being set up to be the victim of sectarian and provincial divisions and violence.This lead to the formation of MQM on one hand and SSP,LT on the other.
u
This heejhra force is a curse on this nation since they can not even fight 5-10k ill trained uneducated gorilla(apes) force.
@justice,
—-
….This heejhra force is a curse on this nation since they can not even fight 5-10k ill trained uneducated gorilla(apes) force…..
—–
Make no mistake, this is not an ill-trained, rag-tag force; these are hardcore fighters. Look at what the so-called highly-trained NATO and US forces have been able to achieved against their fellow beardos in Afghanistan.
@MalangBaba
You Rock. I agree with everything you said.
@shimatoree , jojo, Nota, Shirkuh, razakhan, traffic etc etc
Right wing politicians Nawaz Sharif, Khawaja Asif, Munawar Hassan, Fazul Rehman criticised Taliban today. If gov maintains this peace deal for another week or so your guru Imran Khan will be forced to criticise Taliban and alqaeda. I will be looking forward to new set of solutions from right wing on pkpolitics….
@Kashif,
Everyone is still in favor of NAR and full implementation of NAR.
I don’t know how MQM supporters/Left wing fascists forget about the peace agreement that Musharraf did with Tribals in FATA, on which US had exact same concerns as NAR.
@rasheed
NAR was an agreement between gov and Taliban. Taliban has already breached agreement by not disarming, by expanding to Buner, by discarding supermacy of High and Supreme courts. “Everyone” has criticised Taliban for that and Imran Khan who is champion of jumping on band wagon (populist wave) will be there in week if gov doesn’t withdraw itself from NAR.
@kashif
If you think and agree with malangbaba then you need to re-construct your thoughts.
We are anti-america so we are pro-taliban… This nation has a tradition of choosing between the given and imposed options else there is no other way.
Tell us what and who to chose?
left wing or right wing,ppp or pmln,mula or non mulla every body should be united against taliban.
@democrate
I see a fat chance of Pakistanis supporting the army. The army had such a bad name under Mushy that army officers were ordered to not to go out in uniform. I don’t think any one will attend the marches.
I remember someone mentioning that the generals are bad and the army is good. Thing is where do these generals come from?. Secondly for a COAS to take power he should have support of all the bigwigs of army like corp commanders, lieutenant and major generals, otherwise he wouldn’t dare it. So we can’t just blame Mushy for taking over rather it was all the bigwigs at that time.
@shimatoree
3. Even though the Govt appears to be incompetent-( and it is) the Army of Pakistan is NOT. If you think a bunch of tribal Talibs are going to take over Pakistan is simply BULL SHIT !
exactly jeez how many of the guys here are military tacticians, do they have any idea what military can do if they want.Just look wat military did in bajur and doing it in other agencies. But they can do the cleanup where is the cure, the political healing and reconciliation. These baboos just screaming blood without realizing the realities.
@rasheed
I saw the headline “Nawaz raises alarm over Taliban march”, my first thought was this is not aimed at local audiences. I scanned down and the second para began “In an interview with the USA Today…”
Then today we have PML-N calls for review of Swat agreement , an agreement that until yesterday was declared “a good deal”.
@pak.nukes
As Khawja Asif said in today’s ‘Kal Tak’ its not about pro America or pro Taliban its about being pro Pakistan. In this conflict I think its in pakistan’s interest to fight against Taliban and Alqaeda for its very existence. Unfortunately that means fighting along side Americans (lesser evil) against extremists (absolute evil).
@nota
Did you read Taliban has clready breached the agreement. Plez don’t blame Nawaz Sharif or Munawar Hassan. For change plez blame Taliban…
@nota
We all now exactly know what happened on March 16th….don’t we?
@pak.nukes
@nota
and u guys thought NS will change lol. After the long march he has really came out. Deal hogai as pak.nukes says lol
@nota, pak.nukes, shimatoree etc
I love this from baboos “since we created talibaan, since we created Laskhars, since we created this and that” I am all for killing but since we created MQM, PPP and PML -N how abt including them too lol
@razakhan
“I love this from baboos “since we created talibaan, since we created Laskhars, since we created this and that””
We are one powerful bunch, eh?
Did you see this crowd?
(None of these have been trucked in by MNAs/MPAs at the orders of their grand leader)
Also, isn’t it interesting no one mentioned the following here?
Sufi now says he is loyal to state, Constitution
(I know this will soon come:
Ansar Abbasi thinks what Sufi Mohammad says about Parliament and judiciary, are his known ideas but the timing should be different to disclose them.
What an honest Journalist preaching Munafiqat.
Ansar Abbasi says, It was expected that looting, slaughter, kidnapping and burning girls school would stop after NAR.
With the minimum knowledge of anything and lowest of intellect which I qualify, can tell without any reservation that the party involved as signatory in NAR(Sufi Mohammad), is responsible for all these heinous crimes and Abbasi knows this fact, otherwise theres no way Abbasi is so sure that these crimes would stop.
Abbasi further condoned Sufi’s one decade struggle to implement sharia in Malakand and Abbasi is heart broken that Sufi is about to lose the fruits of his noble cause because he is not much minafiq as Abbasi want him to be.
Perhaps this looting and slaughter was ending strategy of this one decade struggle.
Abbasi with his Journalist dishonesty clearly hiding the fact that Sufi intentions never were for Malakand only and Abbasi as a top Journalist must have known it but still Abbasi call it one decade struggle to implement sharia in Malakand.
Some of the Sufi spoke person justify why Sufi call this Parliament Kufr because it does not bring all the laws on annual basis in front of Islami Nazaryati council or Shriat federal court to Islamize them, weare not talking here about Malakand or Swat only.
Then in the end Abbasi preach that we should stay away from America war on terror ,this is the only way to avoid spread of Extremism and Talibanization.
Abbasi trying to preach Extremim and Talibanization has nothing to do with Sufi Mohammad.
Wheres Ansar Abbsi we knew as honest and responsible reporter.
Perhaps his bias and polarity has started to take effects.

COULD SOMEBODY STEAL A NUCLEAR BOMB AND BLOW UP THE WHOLE WORLD PLZZZZ
I WANT ABSOLUTE PEACE
EVERYWHERE
@nota
RIP in late Benazir, never a fan of her and specially hated her blurting to western media and western govt sensitive issues specially to media, e.g nuclear program and all security related sensitive issue, but GGod bless her soul she did one things right, going after and exposing MQM and recognizing the Taliban rise in Afghanistan. Aiding them to consolidate the power was the wrong thing lol, only if zia wass alive or our leaders had done good by backing hikmatyaar and rabbani, how things would have been different.
@khurram Shah
Join Taliban and become a suicide bomber …you will be in peace forever….just a mushwara.
Right wing media, supporters of extremism and conservative politicians are directly responsible for the rise of Taliban in our society. Our society has been living in a state of denial for very long time. Blaming others for our own problems has become a normal practice for this nation. Try discussing current political situation with a common and often ill-informed Pakistani (brainwashed by media and political thugs) and you will hear following same old rhetoric again and again:
India, Israel and America are responsible for every problem in Pakistan
Talibans/Afghans are our Muslim brothers
Indian agents NOT Talibans are burning schools in Swat and FATA
This is an American conspiracy to take control of our nuclear bombs
America wants to divide Pakistan
Afghanistan is graveyard of America
This is an expansion policy of Jews
No one has ever conquered Afghanistan
Foreign terrorists living in FATA are our brothers
Afghan Jihad (in my view it was a Fasad) was justified
Marde Momin Marde Haq- Zia-ul Haq Zia-ul Haq
No Muslim can do suicide bombing
We need another Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi
Musharraf is responsible for every problem
Dr. Afia is mother of nation ( and this mother of nation is a terror suspect)
Only Khilafat is the right system for Pakistan
FATA people are gheratmand pathans and true Muslims
Pakistan Army is a NaPak Army. Hang all the Generals
Taliban’s Shariat is the right system for Pakistan
Jihad Kashmir Zindabad (JI spends more time worrying about Kashmir)
Jo America ka yar hey wo ghaddar hey
America wants to shut down all madarsas in Pakistan
Anyone opposing Talibans is a Kafir and wajib al qatal
Asif Zardai is working on American agenda
CIA/Mossad/RAW agents NOT Talibans are blowing up girls schools in Swat and NWFP
Imran Khan is the last hope for this country (no one even knows name of his party office bearers)
India wants to kill all Muslims (more Muslims live in India than Pakistan)
Palestinian Muslims are our brother (JI loves them more than Pakistanis)
Saddam Hussain was a real fighter and he opposed Americans
Talibans are marching in towards Islamabad is Govt propaganda
Nawaz Sharif is sada sher hey
There is no fear of Talibans taking over major cities in Pakistan
Lal Masjid Maulana Ghazi is an hero (this hero was trying to flee in burqa after Army action)
After restoration of Justice Chaudrey every problem of a common man will be solved
Altaf Hussain is an India agent and MQM is a ghunda party
There is no talibanisation of Karachi. MQM is lying
We should declare Jihad against America and India; whole FATA will fight
America wants to control oil supply of Muslim world
Talibans stopped poppy cultivation
Talibans are no threat to Pakistan; America is
Pakistanis and Afghanis are bhai bhai
Jews want to control the rest of the world
Suicide bombers are Indian agents
Only Jihad is the solution of every problem (how many people did JI send to Afghanistan?)
Current world economic crisis is because of Jews
Talibans are God’s friend and rasikh al aqeeda muslims
Jews run White House in Washington
Drone attacks should be stopped (though these attacks are killing enemies of Pak)
Americans want to destroy Islam (despite they have a President of a Muslim migrant)
Islam is spreading faster than ever etc. etc. etc,
The above-mentioned statements have become colloquial statements of our everyday life and we are satisfied that our head-in-the-sand approach is working. Right wing fascists are working 24/7 to ensure that this country is destroyed sooner. In fact, Taliban thugs are now an asset for both religious and political Right in Pakistan and being used to destabilise current elected Govt. The writing is on the wall for all of us and those who are ignoring warning signs of imminent Taliban danger are misguiding this nation. Shame on Right wing fascists’ media for supporting Taliban thugs.
Taliban Murdabad Pakistan Zindabad
@Shimatoree
” 3. Even though the Govt appears to be incompetent-( and it is) the Army of Pakistan is NOT. If you think a bunch of tribal Talibs are going to take over Pakistan is simply BULL SHIT !”
They might be capable of fighting a regular army in the mountains, but on the plains of Punjab it will be another case, if (god forbid) they made any mad move to Punjab they will suffer very heavily.
“4. All the squeeling that I have seen here reminds me of a kid who wants a certain toy from her parents and gives all kinds of threats that if you do not give me the toy this and that will happen.”
It reminds me of a post from a semi-baboo. He had all sorts of calamities mentioned in one post reg. the Taliban threat, but “luckily” he also presented a solution quite close to what PTI/IK has been favoring. The “sad” part is that the same semi-baboo loves to bash IK for the sake of bashing
As I said, after Bunair Taliban will spread more, they will not keep the promises as they are not true muslims, they will break and break again and again … now repotedly they have invaded Shanghla district.
The next would be Mansahra District if nothing will be done…. Taliban’s have already crossed the red lines
What the heck? In moderation again?
@supercreature
Good…now America has plenty of reasons to invade the whole country.
Long live USA.
My response to Ansar Abbasi
Dear Ansar Abbasi Sahib
Its not about understanding you, its all about understanding other people through you, a Journalist, who suppose to give unbiased picture of events or personalities because we are dependent on you.
I never knew anything about Musharaf or Justice Bilal, I read your articles and I am thankful to you for giving us in depth knowledge of these Monsters.
When it comes to Taliban or Sufi Mohmmad or other Wahabi forces in action you probably Wahabi or deobandi by faith becomes hellbent to protect their character.
How easy it was to quote verses of Quran to not show mercy on implementation of Haad, what about quoting the verses of Quran to show killing of single innocent human being is like killing Humanity.
Who is this Sufi Mohammad, perhaps he has no hands in killing of innocent human beings because you think very high of him, what about his ignorance of all those killings in the same area where he is so powerful, he can stop killings and all the crimes once his decade struggle is fructified, to think he has no hands in innocent killings is a joke.
A lesser crime of Sufi could be allowing innocent killings to blackmail authorities into implementing sharia.
Or a third more painful scenario , let the shia killed they are already kafir so what the heck, verse of Quran would not apply on them because they are kafir and killing a kafir is nothing but thawab.
regards
@Shirkuh
Hey Shirkuh…How are you?
The ones entered Shangla are not Pakistanis reportedly…..Now Afghanis invading Pakistani territory are trained and funded by???????
Do you have an answer my dear Shirkuh?
Ofcourse the Nato stay in Afghanistan is not so innocent where as the focus is in Pakistan … the pushed and pushed the talibans near pakistani borders and put them inside the pakistani borders …. they started pushing them further down inside pakistan by drones attack …. as now they are almost near the middle of pakistan. The foreign forces and afghan govt giving air to insurgency in NWFP and Bloachistan … the plan is simple and open and widely published by Amarican defence department in the shape of new regional mapping done many years back ….
Every thing is going towards what they have planned, it is ever too late until we get united and talk with locals of the region and do real development there … we need to support the army as well other wise we are again saying bye to our country again becuase of Aghanistan Northorn Alliance, india and Israel who are collectively supporting every thing in Afghanistan.
@supercreature
Sounds like a desi soap opera.
@supercreature
To be honest I dun expect anything from any of our leaders, be it NS, current coalition govt or Kiyani, ISI has been purged and silenced. With RM today naming names may be govt realizing how they being used by enemies of Pak to kill pak. Time to wakeup?
pak.nukes
Really we are not in a situation where just popping jokes will help us.
Shirkuh
Though I may not agree with you but I respect every opinion. My only questions are; Did the Yankees subvert and abrogate Constitutions in our country since 1947. Did the Yankees ask us as a nation to each time rejoice and distribute sweets whenever the Constitution was trampled under the boots; Did the Yankees force us to ill treat Pakistanis in East Pakistan since 1947; Do the Yankees run our schools and hospitals; Have the Yankees taken away our integrity as a nation and made us one of the most corrupt countries in the world; Should we hold Yankees responsible for our mistakes, folies and actions against our own State; Do the Yankees teach us to be hypocrates, liers and cheaters; Why should the Yankees have any concern in our prosperity and strenght; As a nation what have we done to guard our soveriegnity; Why do we go begging in world to collect aid; Don’t you feel shame in being at the mercy of US Dollars etc etc.
Nations are respected for thier integrity, hard work and thier own conduct. Let us not be escapests.
@pak.nukes
Alhamdolillah. I hope you are fine too
The longer we wait the more mess the occupying forces will create in Pakistan. They want to prove that Pakistan cannot handle the affairs in the border area with Afghanistan (in fact we can’t) – even when they themselves are not able to handle Afghanistan. The aim is to put all the blame on Pakistan. This strategy to weaken and destroy us i.e. split Pakistan in Karachistan (MQM), Sindh (PPP), Baluchistan, Upper and lower Punjab etc. The result is off course smaller and even more ineffective pieces of land, which will be easier to handle for the West or rather the “bits and pieces” will handle each other by quarreling and waging war on each other over water, land etc. $$$$$$$$ outdated weapons to buffoons to fight each other.
@Pakhtun77
The Yankees has interfered in our internal matters NUMEROUS times (I hope I need not to mention the cases), but that still doesn’t justify the action s of our so called leaders/rulers. At least I am never going to forgive any traitor!
Why is Idiamin not allowing my post from “23 April 2009 at 11:40 am”?
Shirkuh
How many times did you come out in the streets? Can the leaders dare to do anything that the nation does not want. If the leaders are Traitors, all those who allowed them to ravage the country whether actively or by keeping silent are equally guilty. Was the NAP now ANP, Jamat-i-Islami, Asghar Khan and many others supporting Zia-ul-Haq who was fighting a war for the Yankees because the Yankees wanted to revenge the USSR for thier humiliation in Vietnam. Wasnt Imran Khan, Jamat-i-Isalami, PPP and and many others supporting Musharraf who was fighting for the Yankees and ravaging the country. Who had amended the Constitution through 17th Amendment and allowed Musharraf to continue as a President in Uniform and condone all its acts, was’nt Jamat-i-Islami, Fazlur Rehman part of MMA. We still support the same people. Did the Yankees force them to do that. Are we so weak and spineless as a Nation that the Yankees can take us for a ride. All those who had supported, Ayub, Zia and Musharraf agents of Yankees also equal Traitors. Hope you will reply by ignoring prejudices.
Who allows the Yankees to interefere in our matters and what has the nation or its leaders done to stop the intereference. Do you refuse to be fed and taken care of in this country from the Yankee Dollars. My dear World Bank and IMF etc are all Yankee organisations
@Pakhtun77
Did you not read this part of my post?
” but that still doesn’t justify the action s of our so called leaders/rulers.”
I hope you will understand that I am also saying that the main culprits are our own leaders! There is no disagreement on this issue, BUT that does NOT justify the actions of the Yankees i.e. facilitating disruptive elements in Pakistan and elsewhere. Ask the South Americans, The Iranians etc.
@Shirkuh
“Shirkuh said:

@ Shirkuh
There is one repeated comment made by politicians, anchors and a lot of people on this website also .
” The Pakistan Army and / or ISI created the Taliban and current wave of extremism and fanaticism “.
Reminds me of this story of the mosquito who landed on the horn of a Brahma bull and said- ” I am sorry I do not wish to throw your head out of balance “. People DO HAVE a super infalted opinion of their capabilities don’t they ?
The PPP has been and now it’s ally PML-N has also started singing this same mantra to placate their masters.
@shimatoree
The mantra that they sing goes like
amreeka, amreeka, amreeka….
http://www.atimes.com/atimes/South_Asia/KD24Df01.html
@Shirkuh
Oh man, I am no way disrespecting you or pak.nukes. I am just pointing to that post by where In my view you summerized many things in very good way about the current situation.
You said “The longer we wait the more mess the occupying forces will create in Pakistan. They want to prove that Pakistan cannot handle the affairs in the border area with Afghanistan (in fact we can’t) – even when they themselves are not able to handle Afghanistan. The aim is to put all the blame on Pakistan. and I didnt want to copying paste whole stuff….
“People DO HAVE a super infalted opinion of their capabilities don’t they ?”
You are telling me!
“The PPP has been and now it’s ally PML-N has also started singing this same mantra to placate their masters.”
Well, should we consider it a plus that PML-N has been consistent in never failing to disappoint? What is interesting — and sad — is given every opportunity to rise above it, they have chosen to transform themselves back into mosquitos (with self-deflated egos).
Speaking of masters (and mistresses), in light of Hillary’s latest call, wonder what hoops they’ll jump through to please her….
Hillary urges Pakistanis to speak out against govt’s Taliban policy
So much for PPP’s respect for “Rule of Law”:
Suddle to remain Head of Intelligence Bureau Despite SC Verdict Against Him

MQM caught playing double-game again:
Muttahida Signed the Nizam-e-Adl Regulation Recommendations: Dar
Another interesting story in today’s Jang is Fazlu’s statement that I cannot find in the online edition:
‘HamaiN Faisla Kerna Ho Ga Kay Mulk bachana Hay Ya Kashmir Hasil Kerna Hay”‘
Trying to please the Masa again?
What are we waiting for; I know our political leaders Zardari and Nawaz Sharif are bunch of cowards but what about our military leadership? Two hundred of Taliban’s walked into Buner and captured the town, we are mourning instead of taking some strong actions. Where are our strong Armed Forces?
Are we ready to surrender Islamabad to Taliban’s, are we ready to give-up to these hoodlums, we have to take Sri-Lanka type actions to clear the extremists? It is no more Nizam-Adal; it is a question of the existence of Pakistan.
Remember U.S and its allies will destroy Pakistan’s nuclear assets if they are in danger of falling into the hands of radicals.
@nota
Best of the lot Salman bawaseer, humain drones attacks ki taraf nahi balkey america se milney wali imdad ki taraf dekhna chahiye. tawaif has better standard then this so called govt, u hit her and u pay the price, we say its ok.
@nota
Sifaarishaat may means agreeing on nizam-e-adl, who wouldn’t approve adl.
I keep repeating theres nothing wrong with NAR but agreement with rival parties is loaded with mistrust, none of them are trustworthy.
Probably MQM is also against signing an agreement with them.
Govt should be potent enough to implement those sifarishaat themselve.
I don’t think MQM is playing double game, its N League point scoring.
@razakhan
“we say its ok.”
Or “Thank you”
Or “We didn’t get hit”
Or “We hit ourselves”
Or “We deserved to be hit”
Or “It was only a glancing blow”
Or “Give us your hand and we’ll do it ourselves”
Or “We just stumbled in the path of the blow by mistake”
Or “Baitullah did it”

yOU CANNOT BLAME THE WHOLE ARMY COZ OF WRONG DECISIONS OF FEW CORRUPT GENERALS WHO LICK THEIR MASTERS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. THE BEST EXAMPLE IS MUSH. HANG MUSH..HANG MUSH… THE FIRST STEP IN ORDER TO START SOLVING OUR PROBLEMS.
In 1965 war the pak great army kicked some End-ia .
Can you guys write on the bbc forum in favor of Pakistan.
Question is….
Does Pakistan pose a global threat?
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has said Pakistan poses a “mortal threat” to world security. Do you agree?
http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thread.jspa?forumID=6377&edition=2&ttl=20090423173610
I agree on few points of this agreement. I support IK stand.
There are no Talibans in baluchistan but why the baluchi people are so mad. MAIN REASON.. THERE IS NO JUSTICE ESPECIALLY IN BALUCHISTAN AND THE REST OF PAKISTAN. ” NO JUSTICE NO PEACE”.
SOLUTIONS:
1. Hang Mush in open for breaking the consttituition not once by twice. So hang him twice.
2. Hang effigies of Ayub, Yahya and Zia for breaking the constituition in open.
3. Abolish NRO and bring everyone who benefitted from NRO to the court to defend their cases. Bring any criminal to court to face charges.
4. Make a law that put time limit to all the cases. NONE OF THE CASES SHOULD PROLONG OVER ONE YEAR EVEN THE MOST COMPLEX CASES REST OF THEM SHOULD HAVE MONTHS LIMIT.
5. Hire more people in police and provide them with good equipment and good salaries. Also hire people from the same province and donot send one province police to other province. Local police stations should have police hirement according to the local population of any ethnicity epecially in rural areas. e.g in Balichistan lets say Baluch have more or less 60% population then Pashtun etc. so the jobs should be according to their population.
6. DONOT INVOLVE ARMY AND ISI IN ANY OPERATION WITHIN PAKISTAN.
7. Police and FIA should have reforms and provide the security within Pakistan. Police, FIA and Police related other agencies should ONLY OPERATE WITHIN PAKISTAN.
8. Pay good salaries to Judges, reform courts, increase courts in number so everyone can get justice easily.
I guess if we can implement these 8 points in our society then with time other things will fall in place. JUSTICE FOR EVERYONE AND PEACE FOR EVERYONE.
@ admin I did not use all the Cap letters but still awaiting for moderation. even there are others who have commnets with all CAP letters.?????? wats going on
@AClarionCall
I applaud you for summarizing right wing talking point and false solgans.
After JI now even PTI criticised Talibanization.
http://www.insaf.pk/News/tabid/60/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/2172/PTI-Punjab-condemns-Taliban-entrance-into-Buner.aspx
Right wing birgade on this is not too far from presenting new world order. I expect them to join anti Taliban band wagon within a week or so. All they need is green signal from IK who in turns need one from Mansoora.
This is the only positive developement after IMC’s restoration. The nation is uniting against Taliban.
@Kashif
Do you have Solutions for Malakand and other areas plus for baluchistan. or you have ONLY A BAND WAGON OR A BAD WAGON.
Situation in Pakistan is such that a serious effort is needed to save Pakistan, but Alas nothing of this sort is happening.
@BABU FROM USA
It doesn’t matter what ‘d I do as I am not in position to do anything. I am glad those who are at helm are feeling same urgency and due to Taliban’s latest acations thinking in right direction viz There is no room of negotiations with insurgents. There is no peacful solution. There will be colateral demage innocent casualities but for greater and long term peace we got to pay the price. Its not about America or India or middle east. Its about Pakistan. We have to own and win this war. We have the resources we didn’t have the will. I can see national consenus building up against Taliban so I am hopeful much more than I was a month ago.
@ kashif
Oh woah !!! No peaceful solution. Thats the only solution you have!!! Great.
When you are moving to the area with your family and friends and with your love ones to pay the price of collateral damage/ innocent casaulties, but for greater and long term peace ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE. It is not about America or Endia or middle east .its about Pakistan.
@BABU FROM USA
Yes I repeat there is no peaceful solution unless Taliban are ready to surrender. Apparently they are not if they were ready they could have done that after 911 and remained in power. I don’t think they have enough incentive to surrender now and world (including Pakistan) is not ready to give them control of a nuclear state. I am not sure all pro Taliban bloggers here are ready to live under Taliban rule.
@Kashif
Uhm no more reason and start shouting pro taliban bloggers. Have you read about french revolution and its reasons. Was there a lack of justice.
OH YOU BROUGHT OUT 9/11… DO YOU REALLY THINK OR KNOW WHO WAS BEHIND 9/11… HAVE YOU DONE INDEPENDENT SEARCH ABOUT 9/11.
I CHALLENEGE YOU AND ANYONE ELSE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD THAT 9/11 WAS INSIDE JOB AND NOT DONE BY SOME BUNCH OF CAN CUTTERS/TALIBANS/ SO CALLED THE GREAT ALQAEDA ….HIDING IN CAVES.
@babu from usa,u r really a fool.i cannt say more than that.
@BABU FROM USA
Reality matters but what matters more is perception. No body knows the reality of God but it is the perception of God that results in over 4 billion people attached to one religion or another. I don’t want to get into debate what was the reality about 911. The huge majority of the world believes US was attacked by alqaeda. If you think thats not reality you are entilted to your opinion unless you convince rest of the world some one will have to pay the price. I am not going to give any arguments or start a new debate about 911. I don’t need to convince you you don’t need to convince. Lets focus on our issue Talibanization. Lets not see or analyze it from American or Osama’s lens. Osama can fight his war against America with his resoures and his men not through our land, our men and our resources. As a Pakistani thats my biggest issue. If alqaeda and Taliban wants to fight America feel free to do so but please don’t kill Pakistani civilians and soldiers in the process. Don’t destroy our state infrsatructure and institutions.
Cut the bull shit. No #1 priority of Pakistan.
Its a Islamic state and Islam does Not allow terrorism (killing of innocent people).

Why Taliban & AL Qaida are Big Threats on Pakistan??
Pakistan appear on the World Map on 1947 in the Name of Islamic country ” Pakistan ka matlab kia La illaha Illalaah “.
>> (from last 60 years what we are doing with our country?? )
Below are our mistake collectivly due to we are under punishment by Allah weather by Taliban, Al Qaida, Americans or by our Hakims as well.
A. America accept our freedom after 2 years (what a joke)
B. Liaqat Ali khan preferred to visit US while USSR Ambassador sat more then 3 hours having a visiting proposal to Russia in our foreign office and we refused & India preferred Russia that time and see today where India is ..!
C. We are celebrating more than 60 years of our freedom but where is ” LA ILAHA ILLALLAH” ??? just in children books ?? why not in daily life ?? just in Mosque to say that and in house ?? where the practical ??
D. According to Pakistani Law Book “Sovereignty just to Allah, All law in Pakistan would based on Sunnah and no law in Pakistan would not recommend except Sunnah”. (Where are Sunnah Laws? Just in Shariah court?? Why not implemented on all Muslims in Pakistan?
E. What are the basic responsibilities of a Government for his Citizens?
1. Living place
2. Medical facility
3. Equal Education
4. Equal job opportunity
5. Equal rights
Now look our society…. Who is getting these facilities?? poor peoples ?? Middle age peoples or Elite classs ?? you decide…
F. light nude modeling, Mujra, drinking wines and Zana by choice, paid or by pressure in Hotels, private Villas, houses & now Internet Café as well. (Are we Muslims???) You people would say its 2100 century Why don’t you come in public private lives??? (Have a good joke)…Prophet says “ if you will do sins collectively and those who can stop this would not so Allah will punish you by land or sky & would not stop untill you would not return on your base”. (So what about Taliban or Al Qaida?? May be they sent by Allah to punish us on our sins?? )
G. Dance parties in TV shows, light nude songs, T-shirt & jeans in Dramas and music Videos, Co Education in school , Colleges & universities and see the circumstances behind…..(Is this Islamic way of education ??) Islam allow you to have education , you can have separate school, Colleges & universities for Men & Women. Islam allow you to dress up well but not to spread Volagarity in socity its “Fitna” near Allah. Allah said in Quran ” FITNA is more harmfull then a Murder ” do yo know why ? becasue a Murder effect to one and FITNA effects to all whole socity… so see today our socity where we are going..??
H. Our whole economy based on what?? Do you know?? Its (INTEREST) mean RIBA, SOOD ??
Do you know what Allah said about Ribbah in Quran ‘Allah ordered you to far away from Ribbah and do Sadqa its better for you if you know “(summary). Ine one Hadith Prophet (PBUH) said “ In Qayamah Malaikah gave sword to guy who sale, buy, write or anything concern to Ribbah and will say “Go and fight will Allah “. (So what about us??). Al our trading system, Banking system saling system based on what ?. Don’t you think we are under punishment by Allah because we got our country by Allah’s Name & now we are dying to implement the order of America instead of Allah ??
I. We Helped Americans, NATO, British forces to attack on Afghanistan. can I Ask why ?? what Taliban did with us before 9/11 ???… if it was case against Taliban for Bin Laden so let them decided what to do , Why we take a 360 degree changed in our foreign policy against a Muslim Country???
J. Allah said in Quran surat Almaida 50/51 “ Yahooed and Nasara are not your friends far away from them and those who will participate with them they would under the same order as they are “ ( what we did ?? We gave our air routes, lands, Intelligence & Logistic support to Americans & Nato allies for what basis ?? Just for Money and what was the Deal on the Blood of innocent Muslims ( Freedom of Kashmir, Release of our All Dues, Economic stability. So what we found?? did we reached any one from them ?? NO we didn’t think why??
we captured our brothers, Sisters (Dr.Afiyah) and Taliban Ambasador (Mullah Zaif Mutawakal) and hand over to America ?? why ? is it allow in Islam ??
K. From 7th November 2001 till 2003 more than 2 hundred thousand flying by Americans from Pakistan to Afghanistan to bombed innocent peoples. Who will pay back?? Who is responsible? What we are thinking Allah will leave us just to say that “we could not have except this option “……!!!
L. Taliban from Afghanistan didn’t’ do anything else with us till now whatever is going on in Sawal, Dir or Buner District they are our Own peoples not by Afghanistan. Eventually it was the right of Taliban to attack on us due to unfaithful deal with Jews & christened against Muslim country but they didn’t now its revenge by Allah to us in the shape of Local Taliban killing us & to our Army… ( We got this country on the Name of Allah & see what we did with Muslims …so this is payback time ).
M. Don’t cry on suicide bombing or attack by Taliban now. We are responsible for them because we are the one who let them for this situation.
Try to learn by mistakes not to blame others…!!
No one here is not telling to whole world abut true Islam. All are balming to Taliban why don’t we dont see in our necks ? when we will see ?? can we see our sins ??
Thr hot Burning truth is……..
If Taliban are wrong so why they resist America, NATO, British & all US allies alone from last 8 years and now NATO and other forces near to defeat and they accept it why ??
If Al Qaida & Taliban are American or CIA agent so why America don’t show a documentary or Visual prove for (so called Most Intelligent, sufficient & well Equit Army).
Why they are beating by those peoples living in Mountains and as we said uneducated or lawless peoples ?
If we are true or practical Muslims so why Allah giving us punishment from last 8 years when Taliban Falls ??? ( becuase we are the responsible to pull out a True Islamic Government and now Allah giving us a hard time with iron hands”. So enjoy it….
(Read the history of Islam you must found the correct answer).
Wasalam
@Abu Hashim
We should not be divided on Taliban or no Taliban, they and Al-Qaida are American creation let them deal with them.
Pakistan ka matlab kiya La illaha illal la should be our moto and we should invite the majority sect in Pakistan i.e. Sunni Brelvi to make the sharia laws and shia and wahabi deobandi should help them with their input,they should be given 30 days to come up with final solution.
Under no circumstances wahabi deobandi, unfortunately who are Taliban also, should be put on a driving seat on this matter because this is the sect which is the root cause of all the problems, they are rigid and narrow minded and they are at ease to declare all other branches of Islam as kafir or mushrik.
If our Govt is smart they should do what I suggested to put the sunni on driving seat, almost all the sects are comfortable with them, this is the only way to solve this problem and avoid the blood shed.
Sufi should be accepting what Munibur Rehman says not vice versa.
