    Fleeing Swatis describe horrific scenes

    Wednesday, 06 May, 2009 | 06:51 PM PST |

‘I’m really scared of going to Swat. Whenever I see Taliban, they look like vampires,’ said 25-year-old shop keeper Salman Mujtaba, who lost family members in a suicide attack near Mingora.

‘I will never ever go back to Swat. It has lost its beauty.’

In other words, Baboos don’t pay any attention to this show ;-)

And looks like this is going to be the fav story of the Babaoo brigade today, i.e. “Ignore the bombing by big guns, tanks, F-16s, just focus on Taliboos”

Funny thing is when Talibans were in control in Swat, none of these people were leaving. In fact they were coming back. The fact reamins they are leaving again because of the military op and NOT the presense of Talibans.

U.S. military: Taliban killings prompted airstrikes
    http://www.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/asiapcf/05/06/afghan.us.airstrike/index.html?eref=rss_topstories

I like this gem from the article
“But U.S. officials believe the Taliban deliberately engineered a ground attack against Afghan and U.S. forces, expecting the United States would call in airstrikes. They said the Taliban were then prepared to kill the civilians.”

I think there was no need to show the footage of Taliban cutting throats.

Hamid Mir must show the footage of MQM killing innocent Pashtuns in Karachi.

Altaf Hussain is a traitor, killer and drug mafia don.Why Pakistani media is not exposing him.Hamid Mir and Kashif Abbasi spoke very little against MQM which is an American version of Taliban.

On Azam Swati, First of all congrats to every Pakistani on account of gaining 50,000 Sq KM territroy. This indeed is a good news and as Hamid Meer said, this is a slap on the faces of the pplz who r saying that Pakistan will split in next 6 months.(Although 2 months is already gone after this statment).
Secondly, You rock Sahib zada fazal Karim…I think this Person is Lone enough for
Amam-ul-Juhala (Sufi Muhammad). Each word which he said is a word of true Muslim.
Thirdly,i was really stunned to see the horrible video which played during the show..Especially the brutality of the Taliban when they were cutting the head of an innocent civilian. It was hard to see that a Muslim can do this to his bro….

In the end i have to say that Hamid Meer learnt from the blunders of previous show and run this one much efficiently….

Unbelievable scenes of Taliban’s atrocities, they use cell phones and drive modern SUV’s but they are behaving like they are in Stone Age. Time has come Pakistan Armed Forces have received a green signal and soon they will be wiping out entire evil gang of sadistic Taliban’s, The myth quoted by Taliban friends that no one can defeat them is proving wrong, it is a matter of weeks and we will find the results.
I also expect serious actions against the supporter and helpers of Taliban’s in Pakistan; they deserve to be wasted or locked up for life.

Rolling Out the Product: A New Full-Court Press for Pakistan War
    We asked for signs,
    And signs were sent.

    – Leonard Cohen, “Anthem”

    I.
We are now in the midst of a full-blown campaign to “roll out the product” for a new war: this time, in Pakistan. Anyone who lived through the run-up to the invasion of Iraq should be able to read the signs — anyone, that is, who is not blinded by partisan labels, or by the laid-back cool of a media-savvy leader far more presentable than his predecessor.

We noted some of these signs in a long post yesterday and won’t belabor them here. But today brings yet another bumper crop of panic buttons and alarm bells from the powers-that-be, with ever-increasing emphasis on the “Taliban kooks with Muslim nukes” theme: one more variation on the old “mushroom clouds rising in American cities” ploy that has worked like a charm for our militarists lo these 60 years or more.

Some of the war-pushing powers-that-be are public figures in the Obama Administration (including Obama himself, who has dutifully taken on the Bushian mantle of Fearmonger-in-Chief), and some of them are shadowy, unnamed eminences in the military-security apparat, clearly aiming to act for Obama as those daggers of the mind did for Macbeth: “Thou marshall’st me the way that I was going.”…

What is the Unites States preparing in Pakistan?
“…At the US’s behest, the Pakistani military has for the past 10 days been mounting a bloody offensive — including strafing by warplanes and heavy artillery — against Pakistani Taliban militia in the North West Frontier Province (NWFP). The offensive has caused large numbers of civilian casualties and forced tens of thousands of poor villagers to flee.

Between 600,000 and a million Pakistanis have been turned into refugees by the Pakistani state’s drive to pacify the NWFP and the country’s traditionally autonomous Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), so as to bolster the US occupation of Afghanistan.

The US ruling elite has welcomed the latest round of bloodletting, but it is far from satisfied. The flurry of threats, implicit and explicit, against Pakistan, its people and government has continued unabated in the run-up to Zardari’s Washington visit….

The evidence that the Obama administration is preparing some new crime in Pakistan so as to ratchet up its war in Central Asia is overwhelming….

    (Appologies to the intentionally link-challenged)

I really protest on useless showing of Taliban cutting human throats…. Media Plz at least you have mercy on people

  • irshad khan said:

I have no objection Hamid Mir showing Taliban’s cutting human throats, at least now people are getting some ideas about Talibans and their justice. These so called jehadi are sadists and animals who were created by Zia-ul-Haq ,Hamid Gul and U.S. I am possitive our Armed Forces will get rid of them soon. Insha-Allah.

Such programmes should be telecasted to make confirm that these taliban are terrorists. As long as people of pakistan have soft corner for talibans No army can beat them. Its very important to bring Ulamas like Fazal Kareem to on TV and show people the real picture of Islam. America should be asked to help us in finding out who is supporting Talibans with money and weapons. There is no such problem in the world that dos’nt have a solution if you walk straight.

  • bebus said:

Mr Hamid Mir was annoyed about a report in US press, which should have been overlooked. But the discussions in the programme, directly or indirectly, were pointing to the same conclusion which the report had said.

It is not wise to say every now and then that every bad thing in Pakistan is being done by America. The question is that if we are a sovereign nation, why we do what America says. And if we are not a sovereign nation the first we should try to be sovereign and stand on our own feet.
