Dear Mr. President,
We, the citizens of Pakistan, expect our government to deal with the
extremists with a firm and effective strategy. We want the human
rights of ALL citizens protected and the violators punished. We are
dismayed at setting a precedence of giving into Taliban’s demands.
They have proved themselves not to abide by any deal made with the
government again and again. The government has to fulfill its
responsibility of uprooting the network of extremists currently
operative in different parts of the country, including FATA, Swat,
Islamabad, South Punjab and Karachi. A short term fix has proved to
give them legitimacy and allowed them to regroup and become stronger.
We demand that the Government takes full responsibility of protecting
its citizens and punishing those who are breaking the law, burning
schools down, humiliating citizens, destroying property, flogging
people, attacking and killing security forces and killing innocent
citizens including women and children. We want our country to be a
stable, tolerant and progressive Pakistan as envisioned by its
founder, Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
We believe that any agreement signed at the point of a gun and under
threats from violent extremists can never lead to a lasting and just
peace. Since you signed the Regulation, the Taliban have not laid down
their arms, questioned the legitimacy of the Parliament and Supreme
Court, and declared the intent to impose their own brand of violent
and brutal Sharia law not only in the rest of Pakistan but across the
world! This is proof that the real aim of the Taliban is to seize
power through brutal force and intimidation.
The collusion of some religious political parties and certain elements
within the government machinery has resulted in strengthening the
extremist elements in our country and propagated a ‘Jehadi’ mindset
within parts of the society. This has also been a cause of mistrust
among people for their own government and military. The government
should scrutinize its own departments including military and other
security forces and uproot such elements. Unless this is done, no
Government strategy can be implemented effectively.
Mr. President, you must mobilize the state machinery and the people of
Pakistan against the existential threat facing us. It is incumbent
upon you to continue to use the Pakistan Army, in a targeted and swift
manner, to aid a constitutionally elected government in establishing
the writ of the State and to fully eradicate the networks of
extremists settled well in different parts of the country.
You must urge the Supreme Court of Pakistan to exercise the full
extent of its authority to safeguard the fundamental rights of all
citizens including those in Swat.
We expect from you Mr. President, the Prime Minister, the Chief
Justice of Pakistan and the Chief of Army Staff to show your
leadership and prove to us that this is a strong civil government
which can protect its citizens from the menace of violent extremism.

The human sufferings in the refugee camps is unbearable and Army despite all the resouces available, Army is unable to defeat Talibans. So the Army action must stop, otherwise the Army will get demoralised just like it did in East Pakistan.

This operation is weakening Paksitan on all fronts. Main problem is Afghanistan’s invasion and then occupation. Indian consultes in Afg. are promoting all this mess in pakistan. They are sending people from there with masks and also hiring criminals within Pakistan. We should be very careful and stop blaming every Taliban. There is a possibility that some hired criminals disguised themselves as Talibans or some Talibans might have been brain washed but still a very big majority of Talibans and others are peace loving people.
By this operation we are creating more mess it should stop sooner than later. we need to adapt other methods to get rid of Crminals.
If a serial killer is on the loose in a society then you just do not bomb the whole society in order to get rid of a serial killer.

My comment is addressed to Gen Kiyani.
I would like to know why our Army Officersr are only trained to receive guard of honours and how to surrender on the battlle field. In case you have not fully grown up General Sahib, then you should remember that Gen Niazi surrendered in East Pakistan, Gen Kakar surrendered in Siachin Glacier and Gen Musharraf surrendered in Kargil.
Also I am NOT at all impressed with the performance your Army Aviation Force. The Pilots of the gunship helicopters have no idea of modern war fare. And in the mountainous terrain of Swat, these Army Pilots have failed to hit the right targets and they only appear to be hiting civilians.
You are holding too many Core Commanders meetings and only thing you discuss is the promotion of Brigadiers to Major General and Major Generals to Lieutenant Generals. Beside this do you do anything else in the Core Commanders meeting ? I will be pleased to know the details.
In view of the huge human sufferings and a very large number fo Refugees (or IDP) getting very angry day by day, I suggest that the Army action must stop immeiately and negotiations must strart immediately with Talibans whether you like it or not. There is evidence that these Talibans ( which consist mainly of Tajiks and Uzbeks) are trained by Indian Army and you are No match for Indian army.

I would like to add that the ‘Ghunghroos’ to be distributed before the ceremony so that our Brigadiers, Major Generals and Lieutenat Generasl can join in the Khattak Dance with Talibans. (Please note, I have not said anything about our poor Fauji jawan, who is brave as ever). I will f@ck the @rse of these Generals.
Kiyani Sahib, yes Sahib, if you are reading these lines then issue an order that on his way back from France (and London), Zardari should remain in Dubai until furher orders. Because as soon as Rehman Malik arrives he would start giving his orders and would mess up the whole thing even further.

Besides that Pakistan Army did not do well in the past 62 years for the country except consuming the maximum budget of the country, making East Pakistan, giving us failed wars, destabilizing regimes, becoming a real state army, awarded by mrabas/plots, different licenses, using all the resources of the country, availing every kind of facilities than other fellow Pkistanies, acquiring separate education system, keeping their generation and generations to be educated on army owned insttitutions (to whom a civilian cannot even not smell them) acquiring powers (civil as well as military), “sfarash”, all main stream businesses, spoling civil institutions by injecting non qualified and irrelevant army personnals (example in freigen affairs, education and addministration etc.), commissions of different wapon deals, I personnaly have no doubts in the professional ability of our army (subadarand below rank). Please note that above subadar is not the army, it is the groups of princes/ameers, and “officers” in majority.
One of the above comments that ” Tajiks and Uzbeks are trained by Indian Army, and their equipment is appearing to be far superior” is not true, I was around 7 years old at the time of 71 war living in Fasailabad, I saw the dismissals of many Indian fighter planes by meself and I remenbre them verywell. Pak army (subadar and below) is very well trained army, where you cannot compare Indian army (rubbish). I want to notify the above commentators that PAK army against Idia does not fight depending on the wapons they have but most likely based on the “Juzba” and passions which the army has against them. This I have also see 1990, at Nazapir (at L.O.C. in AzadKahasmir near forward Kahota) where General Asif Nawaz had a meeting with Idian army officials. In this small trike (jarap)pak army defeated the “enemy” fully and many casualties around 5000 Indian troops were killed. Let us do not talk about the professional ability of our army.
Let us discuss a littel about what is going on in Swat. I can support army if (God knows better) and only if they are figting to eliminate the “sharpasands” becuase in my opinion Taliban can never be “sharpasand” and vice versa. In my view the people fighting with Pak Army thinking that they are doing “Jihad” then this is totally wrong perception. For them the condition of “Jihad” dod not applicable. Most likely those are foreigner agents (not Taliban) inserted by RAW and other Pak enemy agancies to destabilize PAK for a very genuine reason that the only muslim country having nuclear arms. These NUKS cannot be very easy for India and enimies for Pakistan to digest.
I just request all the Pakistanies while criticizing the army for there bad and even worst contribution in deteriorating the country do not “demoralize” the army although there past is not such that we “Pakistani” can feel proud but still this is one of our valued national “INSTITUTION”.
Other than the above comment of mine I regret to say that till today His Highness (HH) Mr. Zardari and Mr. Galani did not visit the IDP camps. This situation is very much desperate for the Paksitanis. I would like to request Mr. President and Prime Ministar to contribute “some” at least in words to minimze the trauma of those poor people of Swat.

I think Army must double their efforts to eliminate taliban pigs from Swat before moving to other taliban-held areas. Short term advancements are good but long term goal should be to finish off every single taliban.

Since my last comment posted here on 17 May, and today as at 25 May, Army is no where near in finishing the job in Swat. We are losing a large number of poor (and brave) Jawans every day and hardly any Taliban is killled. This mirasee Army spokesman General Charlie is uttering bullsh*t every day. The only so-called seven Taliban which our Army has captured does not look Pathan, Tajik or Uzbek. They clearly looked to me as Punjabis or some foreigners.
I want these 7 captured Talibans to be interviewed by Kashif Abbasi or Javed Chaudhry live on TV. We know that these Tajiks and Uzbeks fighting in Swat are trained by Indian Army and so far they are appearing to be ouclassing our Army in every respect. Two days ago General Kiyani only made a brief road trip to Swat valley in his Air-conditioned Toyota Land Cruiser. He was told that the morale of the Army is very low, and they don’t want to fight for Zardari.
I have not heard so far if any Brigadier, Major General or Lieutenant General has been killed. If you, Kiyani are reading this article then I want to tell you very clearly, that if I ever see you in Public doing opening Ceremony of any Defence Housig Scheme, or Bahria Housing Scheme, Army Mela than be in doubt my Shoe will be waiting for you.

An Open Letter To Asif Ali Zardari,
Mr. President,
Sir,
1. As one of the most senior founder members of the Pakistan People Party and Ex-General Secretary of the PPP District Gujrat, I exercise this opportunity and privilege to express my concerns.
2. After gaining a comfortable position in the Elections, your initial strategy to unite all of the prominent political forces from the Federating units of Pakistan, was much encouraging and brought a feeling of Hope to the nation.
3. An unexpected and suspicious delay to keep up verbal and documented promises and Pacts to restore the judiciary was a start to create doubts about your credibility.
4. By accepting the Position of President, not only you jeopardized the political future of your son Mr. Bilawal Zardari Bhutto but also incarcerated the growth of PPP’s vote bank.
5. Would have been much better for you to stay in the background as an umpire just like Mr. Kamraj the President of Indian National Congress, who never accepted any administrative office but was respected as a king-maker and real force behind Jawahar Lal Nehru, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Indira Gandhi.
6. You didn’t attempt to tender an apology for the myth about your image as Mr. 10% if that was real and never tried to clarify your position effectively if that was unreal propaganda.
7. Your mistakes helped to multiply the popularity of regional leaders to the status of national level.
8. As a student of Political Science, like many others, I am confused to understand and specify if Pakistan is being run under Parliamentary or Presidential System, as provided by the 1973 Constitution?
9. There is a limit to keep on cashing the emotional and consentient attachment of the people with the (late) Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
10. This is not a qualification for the PPP to be accepted, tolerated and accommodated as lesser evil because the opponents of the PPP don’t enjoy a respectable credibility.
11. I am not completely disappointed about your capacity to exercise wisdom in order to bring about change and show the light at the end of the tunnel by getting back to the footsteps of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto as there is no Henry Kissinger and Zia-ul-Haq at the horizon.
