IDP camps are becoming a media circus. And is Marvi Memon kidding? Those of us living 10,000 or more miles away knew about this particular camp. We started receiving civil society emails and photos from this camp pretty much when the operation started!

It is sad and heart breaking to see this situation. Our Govt might get 1.5 billion/year which will be about 127 Rupees per person per day. But we can see the real cost of our choice as a nation.
Of course our elite need that money to keep the standard of living of our ruling corrupt elite. This country is moving slowly but surely towards a social revolution where poor masses will have no other option but to turn towards RELIGIOUS alternative which we call a FUNDAMENTALIST phenomenon.
It must be noted and realised that the divide between rich and poor, the indifference in attitude of the masses and “have’s” towards these HAVE not’s can only increase the extremist attitudes.

We are more interested in DOLLARS and loans from abroad…….the loans where 75% of the budget still will go towards paying the interest and military establishment’s expense.

Once the NATION was told that after acquiring the Nuclear deterrence we will have a dividend for the poor’s and social issues like basic services of health and education……alas our rulers can keep any promise to the poor nation and masses.

People of Islamabad must be ashamed of this camp in particular and other camps across the NWFP in general. Please bear in mind that the drama of extremist taking over Islamabad was a diversion…….but it seems to me with these camps…….it may not be a far fetch idea very soon.

    Wa asalam

Zaid Hamid of brasstacks has said it a few times that right now we are in the best situation to get everything we want. All the NATO supplies to Afghanistan go through Pakistan. All the govt has to do is to tell America that they will not allow the supplies to go through Pakistan.

On that same day USA will be on its knees begging us. Then we can negotiate anything. Thing is it needs guts to that. And ghadari doesn’t have any.

Just listen to the guy who says, “Is jeenay so to mer jana bahter hay”….

This is just the number of people who are in camps, what about millions of those who have been shifted in huge numbers to their family friends. I know one of my collegue whose small home is having 20 families.

Its the time again when people of this country will have to come forward to help these broters and sisters of ours.. government as ususal will swallow all the funds whatsoever.

I agree when Fakhir says that before asking others we should ouselves contribute as our duty.
